Impeachment of the "Emperor"

The Vuhifellian States
11-11-2007, 17:08
High Court
New Hivez

The old judge spoke in a raspy voice, reading from a small book.

Senna Senna. 49th President of the Vuhifellian Federation. You stand before this court today on the following crimes: abuse of power, executive edicts on the constitution, and unilateral actions against other branches of the Vuhifellian Federal government. In addition to this, you proclaimed, for however a brief time it was, an empire. You headed this empire by yourself, granting yourself unheard of powers in this form of government. This Court is today to determine wheather or not you are guilty of these crimes. And if so, to remove you from your office and to imprison you for a period of time to be determined by the Federal Congress. You may now plead to the Court, guilty, or not guilty?

The young female stood up. She had jet black hair and amber eyes, and took the Presidency on the death and arrest of two others. This was a death sentence for her party. The Democrats had already been involved in numerous scandles in the past. No doubt the other 4 parties would jump on this come election day.

She stood there, in the large room, covered in oak panels with engravings of the seals of every province above each judge's head. She did not wear her usual brown business dress today, or her Presidential robes, but instead, a Vuhifellian prisoner's dress: a white and blue jumpsuit.

"I plead...I plead..." tears swelled her eyes. It had been true, she had betrayed the Federation. And almost destroyed the very thing several millions had died for.

"I plead guilty, Supreme Judge McNamera."

"Very well. As you plead guilty, this court is by Constitutional Law required to remove you from office and force you into immediate detention until your sentencing by the Federal Congress. However, as you have plead guilty to your crimes, I, as Supreme Judge of this Court, hereby set a maximum prison penalty of thirty years without parole. Minimum penalty has been lowered to sixteen months of solitary confinement. This Court is hereby dismissed!

And with a swing of a gavel, it was over...

Steps of the Federal Congress Building
Kantz Hill

Keiichi Morisato stood with his wife, Belldandy, on the steps of the Capital Building. Dubbed by the Belkan Herald as the most powerful political duo since Alicia and Patrick Daniels, Keiichi had been the Supreme Delegate of the Federal Congress before and Belldandy the Administrator for the North Osea province.

Reciting line after line of the Oath of Office, the usualy ceremony was conducted by the Supreme Judge of the High Court, but because of the day's hearing, it was being conducted by the next most poweful person in government at the moment, the Supreme Senator, Keiichi's sister, Megumi Morisato.

This was going to be the first time a member of his Party has served as President, because, after all, he had only started it one week earlier.

Not the bickering Socialists, wondering which programs to fund and cut.
Not the idealist Republicans, with their heads high in the clouds.
Not the compromising Democrats, who never stuck to their ideals.
Not the nationalist Kazachs, who asserted superiority over others.
And Not the greedy Foxtechans, who lived for vice and vanity.

He was a Federalist. A chance to return to the way life was before the war ended, only without the war. A chance to return to paradise...

He was now the President, and his family now controlled the Presidency and the Federal Congress, and with a popularity as high as Stevan Daniels', he smiled up at the sky, yearning for a better nation.
