The CJ-19B is the long anticipated gunship version of the CJ-19 Atlas cargo jet. The larger storage area and greater capacity of SaintB's CJ-19 as compared to the C-130 combined with the talented designers in our company have allowed the creation of an even more powerful gunship platform than the AC-130U "Spooky". The Combat Monster is a more powerful, faster, and tougher aircraft with improved capabilities.
The following information is about the CJ-19B Combat Monster, for more information on its base chassis check out the CJ-19 Atlas (http://saintb.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=aircraft&action=display&thread=1194237454). The CJ-19B Combat Monster uses an array of weaponry superior to the AC-103 Spooky in addition to greater ammo and fuel capacity and even speeds and sensor packages creating a far superior heavy gunship.

Armamanet
The CJ-19B is equipped with a range of ground attacking weaponry that includes x3 M134 Miniguns, x2 Bushmaster II 30mm Cannons, and a single M777 Howitzer. in SaintB's Air Defense Forces each of the Bushmaster II cannons are equipped with Air Bursting rounds for maximum damaging efftect. Each induvidual nation can of course customize the weapons suite of the aircraft to suit thier own needs and standards. The Combat Monster is also equipped with standoff weaponry provided by Viper Strike Glide Bombs on each wing. Finally, the CJ-19B can carry one and a quarter times as much ammunition as the AC-130U.

Sensor Array
Like the AC-130 the CJ-19B has a television sensor; this sensor comes with a high definition liquid plasma screen for better clarity to aid in identifying friendly or hostile targets in a combat zone; the Combat monster also has radar, infrared, and a MAD (Magnetic Anomaly Detector) which is tuned to allow the aircraft to detect the ignition coils of hidden vehicles in dense areas. The CJ-19B Combat Monster's sensors allow the aircraft to attack 2 targets simultaneously while tracking up to 2 dozen hostiles at once.
Navigation sensors include Internal Navigation System and Global Positioning Systems as well as standard navigational systems for emergencies.

First, exactly where are the guns mounted on the gunship?

Secondly, as to the operation of the M777 howitzer, what are the means for it to function properly as an effective weapon if it is on a moving platform which would be assumedly above its targets? How do you incorporate such a land-based artillery gun on an aircraft? Finally, how does the firing of the howitzer during flight affect the stability/handling/control of the aircraft?

Lastly, are there any AA countermeasures aboard the aircraft besides sensors? Can AA countermeasures be modified to the aircraft such as missiles or other AA weaponry of interest?

The guns are mounted facing to the port (left) side of the aircraft and are most often used by flying in a holding pattern over the target zone.

Secondly, as to the operation of the M777 howitzer, what are the means for it to function properly as an effective weapon if it is on a moving platform which would be assumedly above its targets? How do you incorporate such a land-based artillery gun on an aircraft?

The weapon is employed in the same manner as the AC-130U employs the M107 howitzer.

Finally, how does the firing of the howitzer during flight affect the stability/handling/control of the aircraft?

Recoil compensation methods and the weight of the aircraft itself prevent any significant problems in flight. The aircraft's substructure has been reinforced in key points to reduce stress.

Lastly, are there any AA countermeasures aboard the aircraft besides sensors? Can AA countermeasures be modified to the aircraft such as missiles or other AA weaponry of interest?

The CJ-19B has the same defenses as the CJ-19, these include ECM and chaff deployment systems. The CJ-19 chassis itself was designed as a modular freighter able to be modified for different roles suitable to a craft of it's size. this being said... upgrades and modifications are relatively painless to add to this aircraft.
