OOC: Basically this a place to post things that don't warrant full threads as well as allow me to further develop Tolvan's political and social dynamics. Feel free to post IC responses (proclamations and editorials and the the like) but full fledged RPs will be moved to seperate threads.

TBC Nightly News, November 9, 2007

"Hello, I'm Mike Peng and these are tonight's headlines."

The screen cuts to a picutre of Prime Minister Tyler Hutchins.

"Parliament today passed the Government Reorganization Act with 723-271 margin with six MPs absent or abstaining. The Act, which was fiercely opposed by the Libertarian and Progressive Parties, abolishes the offices of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, replacing them with the office of President and Vice President. In addition the office of President will not be chosen through a direct popular vote rather than by Parliamentary majority. While Parliament will retain its name its functions have been brought more in line with the legislative branch if other republican based systems around the world. Prime Minister Hutchins will retain his office until next January 1st, when the first President, elected next November, will be sworn in with full executive power. Prime Minister Hutchins is already widely regarded as the favorite to win the office."

"In other news three Benhand teenagers remain in critical condition after colliding with a Tolvanic Army TLAV infantry carrier early Thursday morning. The two boys, ages 16 and 17, and one girl, age 15, were traveling at an estimated 115 kph when they struck the armoured vehicle broadside. The vehicle was part of a convoy of six vehicles crossing a remote country road during a night movement from one drill area to another near Fort Highes. The vehicle had its lights on and was moving at just 20 kph when the accident occured. Local officials credit the quick response of a medic travleing with the convoy with saving the teens lives.

When asked what the teens were doing in the area local police had no comment."
