(OOC: I'm abandoning the IoM nation and becoming Halo(human) tech. Because it's epic. This is open.)

John shook his head and rubbed his ears, attempting to regain sense of everything his ears were hearing. It was a rotten area he had chosen to stand in, right near the magnetic accelerator cannon of the defence station. As the giant slug was launched at near speeds close to that of light, a mighty roar was released that rumbled the inside of the station, but did not even cause a whisper in the void of space. Even still, it echoed loud as ever in his ears.
"Why aren't the sound dampners working? Another shot and I'll be deaf!"
John looked out the window to his right, watching as the two other defence stations on this side of the planet fired their rounds as well, and took note of the many starships that were intertwined in a desperate battle that raged not far from orbit between two almost indistinguishable sides. He also saw the reflection of the marine that had yelled the question, he too unable to hear clearly. "They hit damaged environmental controls in the initial attack. Obviously they aren't fully restored yet."
The station rumbled again, this time the round not nearly as loud. The two soldiers thanked God that they didn't have to suffer through another deafening roar and began to move on. The station then shook violently, and a high-pitched alarm began to sound.
Boarding parties on levels four and six. All NESC military personel report to your posts and prepare to repel invaders.
Speeding to a quick jog, the two men moved through the corridors, observing the battle as it unfolded just outside. As they arrived at the level four docking bay, they met up with another group of marines who were busy installing a barricade of steel shields and weapons crates. The blast doors began to open infront of them, revealing the breached sector. Immeadiatly gunfire began to poor out of the ever growing opening, and in response the marines tasked with holding the sector let forth their own rounds from their assualt and battle rifles.
Fleet Admiral Logan Lock watched the situation with a stoic expression. To him, this whole thing was simply a skirmish. Almost every week there was a renewed attack on New Earth; the rebel forces of Admiral McKensie desperatly trying to gain a foothold on the capital so that they could make another push towards a military dictatorship in the interests of "human military expansion and control over neighbouring and outlying star systems within the galaxy." He was somewhat surprised, however, with the fact that the rebels had managed to organise their forces coherently enough to assembly a decent strike group. He took the datapad offered by the approaching crewman and read the latest report on the situation.

"Very good. But let's not simply let them melt away after defeat again. ONI suggests that this is half of the rebels remaining strength. Send out a call to any friendly vessels nearby who can respond. We can catch them in a vice."
The crewman snapped to attention as the Admiral began to address him again. "Sir, yes Sir. The closest friendly ships would be our forces stationed at Virtue."
"There may be some of our vessels between here and there who can respond as well. Send the message on an open channel so that everyone can pick it up." Saluting, the crewmember went to create the message.
To All Friendly Starships,
Fleet Admiral Lock requests assistance to surround and capture rebel forces in the hopes of bringing a sooner end to the civil war. Repeat, any friendly vessels in the area please respond.
