Opinion on Map?
I need some of the more experienced RP'ers to check out my map and tell me if it is any good.

Above is the map.
[NOTE: The map is in reversed colors so the black is the water; also, the only city labled (as of now) is the capital city. And no rivers have been added.]
Its actually pretty good, keep it up.
Thanks. :)

Keep it up! Although some brighter colors could be used so you can tell the difference between the water and the land (blue and green for example) :)

Yeah, but this is just a demo of sorts. I just wanted to see if I was on the right track; when its finished it will be nice and colorful.

Well, its not bad. That said, its not great either. Needs more detail, either political or topographical. Also, the choice of colors isn't exactly good, for example in my politcal map I used all the colors taht the CIA world factbook uses for easy viewability. It needs a scale so that we can see how big it is. And those are some really big lakes. Other than those, looks fine. Good to see some new players with purteh good maps.

Great map. I agree that it needs some more colors. I was debating to myself whether the city was in the water or land. Umm. Well just as a quick point of interest, i think you should add different provinces or counties, it would really spruce up the map

The water should be blue, not white, and what ever color you chose for the land should be green primarily, alternating for things like temperature, elevation, and landscape. Definitly needs rivers and mountains, it feels unnatural to have such big plains. Also, the map is rather large for one nation.

Okay, that clears things up a bit, so probably aim for more cities, rivers, and maybe some mountains, deserts and forests are located. Its totally up to you, not us.....
although it could be....;)

It's a good work in progress, your balance of land and water seems quite realistic and plausible. Keep up the good work, you're well on your way to having a very nice looking map for your RP's in the future.
Okay, it is still a work in progress, but this is what I have come up with so far:

The two provinces farthest to the east are still in need of alot of work and I have yet to add in any small rivers and I still don't have a map scale; but don't worry, these will be added on the final draft. Oh, and the desert to the south is claimed by Caedria but is almost totally uninhabited. It has no cities only minor towns that are not worth noting on the map.

Much much better. Only one tragic flaw. Save in PNG only, never in JPG. JPG ruins the quality.

Thanks. Whats the difference between JPG and PNG? I always save my pics to either JPG or JPEG.
EDIT:
No matter, here is the map saved as PNG http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/ee59/Caedria/TheCaedrianMap-2.png

JPG's compress your files when you save, and it reduces the quality greatly. PNG's look much better. That looks pretty sweet. 2 suggestions: Make all your borders between your states 1 px and black, like you have done between some states but not all. Also, you really need a scale.

I'll do that (still working out the kinks in the map). The scale will be a bit harder. [Mainly because I have such a small population and such a large land mass with alot of cities. I will have a sort of pre-scale for the next version of the map]

Geez, I checked out your map in your signature, and compared to mine...my map looks almost childish. My map needs some major upgrades. It is going to take forever!

Ibura needs some detail in the centeral area. You still might want to mark out a few rivers and mountains.

Your right. But this map (though improved) is still far from finished unfortunatly. I have yet to mark out any distinctive physical features save for a few deserts and harbors.... (and it hard as hell coming up with city names.)

It's not bad.I'll save most of my opinion for when it's finished. Here's the funny thing. The black is water right? If that's the case I'd switch the Land bodies and Water bodies. But if you did that it would kind of look like some wacked out version on Eastern Asia, Australia and Indonesia.

If you are gonna start making maps, I would be VERY interested in one. I dont know what I could give you in return, though. What program was this created with?

XD. I'm pretty good at maps, but yours is far from bad. It just takes time and hard work. My topographical map, which I drew first, took upwards of 15-20 hours of work, whereas my second map, the political, only took about 3-4 hours as i just had to edit the first map.
I'm not that great at drawing other stuff, and you can see them on the lineartinc forums, whose link is in my sig. What some of those people draw just blows me away... They all play NS, so check it out.
Don't discount your own work, it's very good, especially for a first attempt. I also had an advantage to begin with, as my region, Haven, has its own map, and I was able to expand it and get a rough outline of my nation that I proceeded to make purteh.
