Official Londinian Communiqué

To the Government of the Imperial Democracy of Cazelia:

It has not escaped the attention of Her Majesty's Government, that, during the chaotic period of the Vivicide, Cazelian forces stormed the coastal territory of Orlock, which, since the Soviet-Cazelian War, has been a territory of the Commonwealth.

We do not harbour any ill will towards the people of Cazelia - certainly we can understand the desire to repatriate land viewed as one's own - but we are alarmed at the disrespect shown to the Crown and Parliament of British Londinium through these actions.

In order to rectify this situation and forestall the spectre of war creeping over Cazelia for a fourth time, I request that a Cazelian plenipotentary meet with me in a location of their choosing in order to discuss this affair further.

Sincerely,

We ask that ambassador Tyler Lee, whom is already in the air, be allowed to attend the conferances. As the Confederacy and the Imperial Democracy are allies they may listen better if we reassure them that no harm will come.

HMS Sir Arthur Camilleri

The salty, muggy air that prevailed near Cazelia was most uncomfortable for the thousands of personnel stationed on the fleet's newest superdreadnought; after all, it was quite the change from the icy, lightning-fast katabatic winds dominating Deva Victrix to which they were accustomed to. Consul Andrew Stark detested the warm weather most of all. Warm weather was for the federates, he reasoned, and the colder, the better.

The purple flag of the Commonwealth fluttered proudly in the breeze, and, unlike the people it represented, had no climactic prejudices. It flew over the colonial capitals of Beirut and Brussels just as well as it did over Nyquist. Hopefully, that flag would fly once more over Orlock, which had been wrested away from the Londinian people by the "barbaric" Cazelians, as the media painted them. For the purposes of the conference, though, Stark would swallow his stereotypes.

The superdreadnought was far too large to fit into the port of Yarkai City, and thus the Consul boarded a helicopter and flew into the nearest heliport, where he and a few select members of the Consular Guard would wait for the Cazelian delegation.

At the helipad stood four Cazelian Ghost Operatives wearing Ceremonial uniforms (http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/5/5e/300px-PlateIV_Enlisted_Dress_Uniform.jpg) and carrying white M1 Garands. The men saluted Stark as President James Hogart walked onto the helipad "Consul Stark I presume?" He said

The Vetalians arrived next, a private jet chartered from Tornus. Out stepped the Viceroy, his personal guards, and a small group of various bureaucrats and settlement officers. Dressed impeccably in finely tailored suits and rich silk ties, they were far more at ease in the warmer climate of Cazelia than the Londinans. The guards surveyed the area carefully, holding to their charge until they approached the Cazelian delegation.

Greetings were exchanged with the Londinan and Cazelian officials and the Viceroy and his entourage waited for all of the delegates to assemble.

The Sumguaian jet arrived soon after that of the Vetalians, and Lord Sumguy steped out. He was alone but for a man dressed in white clerical robes and an aide who followed behind him. They approached the other representatives and waited for more to wrrive.

A Westland Lynx helicopter maneuvered slowly onto the helipad. It carried R.K. Lawrence, who would be representing Akimonad at the meeting.

The Lynx touched down and the rotors slowed. Lawrence pushed the door open and stepped out. He looked around, then walked towards the apparent conference area.

"Indeed," Stark said as he acknowledged the Cazelian soldiers with a curt nod. "Andrew Ryan Stark, PhD, Consul for the Londinian Commonwealth, and Senator for Calcaria, at your service. Now, surely we won't have the conferences at the heliport, Mr. Hogart?"

The Echoese jet screeched down the runway and when it stopped, Tyler Lee steped out wearing his Air Force Officers Uniform from his time in the service. Several medals, not too many, were on his breast, and his uniform was a calm grey color as were all Air Force Uniforms. The gold accecents especially stood out. He strode down and greeted the the Cazelian and the Londinium as well as the Sumguyian and the Akimonadite.

Soon after the Far Echo Islands jet landed, another jet, a smaller and more private one, landed on the runway. Soon after stopping, 2 people stepped out of the plane, along with 5 armed guards. One of the men was dressed in a casual suit, and a tie, the other was dressed more extravigently and alot neater, with a pair of specticals. They both were escorted to the meeting place without delay and meet up with the other representatives.

"Well, were in for a ride," joked Bill Rander the Zoingo delegate.

"Yes well, as long as we get there, I have no complaints," said Gustav Echendorf, the head of Zoingo Trade International. Gustav apparently had business matters to conduct, and this meeting was perfect to see the Londinian Commonweath and discuss matters with them and all of the other delegates. He rarely goes and attends meetings outside of managing his business, but this was an offer he could not miss, and in person too.

The Governor turned to Lord Sumguy who was in the same Humvee as him.

"I'm thinking the same thing your Lordship. Now tell me, what brings you to Yarkai City? I don't believe you own any territories here. Are you here to just observe?"
Lord Sumguy
10-11-2007, 02:39
"Please, refer to me as reverend, doctor, or hegemon if you should wish it. 'Lordship' makes me feel like a dictator. I have been much involved with the nations of British Londinium and Cazelia in the past, and wish to continue that, hopefully in a mutually benificial manner. Cazelia also happens to be a member of the Confederate Nations, as is my nation, and therefore I have an interest in these talks. I am here to ensure that a fair and good agreement is reached, for the greater stability of the Global Organization Of Defense and the alliances that encompass it, especialy the Hegemony and Confederate Nations. The Reverend John Baker is here on behalf of the Abrahamic League."
He added as an afterthought, indicating the man sitting next to him dressed in white clerical robes, who nodded respectfully to the governor.

I am willing to put my personal veiws aside if need be however, if such is as needed for the benifit of humanity. As for GOOD, we are as a whole neutral for the time being."

10-11-2007, 05:06
The Soviets, though currently facing an all out war againt The PeoplesFreedom, had expressed great interest in attending the meeting, however, they had decided not to.

That is, until the President changed his mind, after all, they still possesed the Soviet Cazelian "Protectorate", and Orlock had been originally handed to the Londinians and now to the Cazelians. Of course, it was a matter of national security which required a stronger presence.

That's the reason the Soviet Delegate arrived late, after the Cazelian convoy had departed to the palace. Sighing, he ordered his chopper to take him to the conference site, he calculated he'd be arriving along with the rest of the diplomats.

"Cazelia, land of the regularly invaded and the not so free." Thought Lee as he got into the Humvee. He felt foolish to be here without a guard, but he did not care, he always liked taking chances, maybe that's what got him into politics.

"Being the founder of the CN makes these talks a matter of international security and extreme importance. The outcomes could very well set the stage for the next decade at least of world events. They are not to be taken lightly. Though I plan on hearing both sides prior to intervening." Said Lee to the Cazelian in a very formal tone.

OOC: Not quite sure what to post, so here goes...

Consul Stark had difficulty withholding his Brobdingnagian distaste for Cazelia that overwhelmed him as he sat down in the Humvee. British Londinium, even if struggling to rebuild in a hostile, forbidding continent, was one of the world's pinnacles of luxury, and being forced to ride in a military transport for no good reason was an appalling shift to the consul. He flattened a few imaginary wrinkles in his tweed suit and tensely awaited the convoy's arrival at the conference area.
Vetalia
11-11-2007, 05:30
The Vetalians were even less comfortable than the Londinians, accustomed to a higher standard of luxury that was completely and utterly lacking in the transportation provided. Cringing as dust and bumps caused untold damage to their clothing and personal effects, they simply waited for the journey to end as quickly as possible. Their guards held close, drawing no attention to themselves and simply waiting patiently.

"Well, at least we don't have to drive ourselves..."
The Far Echo Islands
11-11-2007, 06:03
Being in the Air Force, Lee was a little more accustomed to the ride than the other diplomats, but still, this was one of the worst shows of a diplomatic entraouge he'd ever seen. He had gone into politics to have an intresting life without the stresses of military moves, he hadn't expected his visit to Cazelia to reinlist him in the service, or so it felt he had been. He made no vocalization, but shifted in his seat and the expression on his face said a lot about his discomfort.

"We'll get there eventually..." the thought in silence.

11-11-2007, 06:08
In comparison to the other delegates, the Soviet representative had a rather smooth ride, after all, his helicopter had been equipped with all the luxuries a diplomat might need to use, not to mention enjoy, when working.

His transport arrived earlier to the conference earlier than he thought, and therefore, earlier than the Cazelian Humvees, thus, he had to sit down and wait while the "official" group made it's way there. To kill some time while he waited, he went up to the Cazelian guards and offered them something to drink, the chopper had plenty to choose from.

As Governor Smoot sat in the Humvee he thought of his days in the Aurum Domus Marine Corp. Those days had ended after a missile was shot at his Humvee, killing everyone but him and seriously injuring him. This little ride didn't brign back many happy memories. He closed his eyes and waited until they arrived.

The Marines driving the Humvees clearly knew that both the Londinians and the Vetalians were highly uncomfortable, and were much more accustomed to a higher standard of vehicle "So, Mr. Stark, I'm pretty sure you're wondering why we're riding in an armoured troop transport vehicle. It's because there are a lot of people around here who don't like your country, specifically war veterans like Rowan here" Said the driver, pointing towards a man in his mid thirties, his face rugged and littered with scars "Have you ever fought in a war?" He asked Stark

"Certainly, though I'm not sure what you're driving at, Mr. Rowan," Stark said cautiously. "Every Londinian has. The Humvees stopped suddenly at a enormous building with flags from several nations, including British Londinium, Duneria, and of course Cazelia. Right above the large glass front door read "Caz'e Londinian Wars Memorial Center/Museum". The delegates were led into the building were a miniature diorama of the battle for Mortun was displayed in the middle of the lobby. Further on was a long hallway, it's walls made of marble. On the marble there were at least 100,000 names engraved on each side. At the end of the hallway there was a chamber that looked almost exactly like the UN Headquarters. The Marines stood outside the door and the Cazelian delegation entered the room and sat down calmly.

Hogart walked up onto the stage and turned on a slide projector. It showed the image of a beautiful coastal city, the sunset illuminating the glass on most of the high-rises "This is Orlock. By that i mean Orlock ten years ago" He flipped a switch, and a picture of the same city popped up.

But it was different.
There were no more high-rises or beautiful buildings. Everything was gone, there were nothing other than hundreds of soldiers and vehicles gathering up remnants of the city.
The only buildings in site were several tents, a long runway and fortifications along the coast "This is Orlock now, war-torn and decimated. There is no living civilian presence here, nor any living creatures" Said Hogart strongly "So what do you think happened to everything? I think everyone knows who has occupied Orlock for nearly 8 years..."

The Soviet delegate raised his hand and interrupted Hogart.

"Why, the Londinians have, the lease was signed by me after the conquest of Sovereign Cazelia..." he scratched his head "I do wonder what's been happening there since I left, I have not recieved much information regarding the Wanderjarian, TPF'ian, Tigerlani, Warmaster and Vontanian protectorates... Certainly, ours has been very fruitful, provided Soviet Cazelia with an incredible improvement over their earlier... way of life and resources."

He was going to kill whoever it was banging on his door.

He padded across the room, murder in his eyes. Pulling the door open, he snarled, "What the FUCK do you want....." He saw it was Vlad, one of his fellow Regents. "You have any fucking idea what time it is?"

"Yes I do", Vlad replied. "It's time you got your ass outta bed and face the day's goings-on."

Seth woke up a little at the name of BL. "OK, so a couple of adversaries are sitting and talking. So what?" A rustling of the bedsheets and a low moan from the bed brought a grin from Vlad.

"The 'so what' is that, if you recall a few days ago, we posted a 'no' vote as to BL's request for membership in UFAN. The cocky bastards fancy themselves a world power of some sort. John thinks they could be trouble somewhere down the road."

Vlad was referring to Prince John Strickland the third of the Regents presently ruling the Xeraphian Empire.

"Hmmmf....John thinks a bum pissing in the street could be a problem somewhere down the road. British Londinium and Cazelia. As I recall, a couple of pissant little nations with a bite they wish was as potent as their bark."

"Yes, well, be that as it may, we may be looking at a pissing contest between young and/or emergent nations. Itchy trigger fingers. Just like Alaric faced
76 years ago." He was referring to the Nekro-Salaam uprising which started out as just two nations rattling sabers and ended up with a dozen nations launching ICBMs.

"Are there other countries involved?"

Vlad looked again to his sheaf of papers. "Well, there are a few other countries at this summit. Let's see. Ah yes. Vetalia, World Soviet Party, Vontanas, Far Echo Islands, Lord Sumguy, and........Zoingo." They looked at each other and simultaneously broke out in laughter.

After they caught their breath, Sethanis said, "Well shitfire, now I'm really worried! Zoingo.....what the fuck is a Zoingo?"

"A nation who is reported to be developing nukes, that's who. Laugh all you want, but things are getting touchy over there." Another low groan from the bed.

Seth laughed. "And things are about to get touchy here. Tell you what, Vlad. You and John keep an eye on this and let's see what develops. Maybe it'd be a good idea to have a couple squadrons of Rattlesnakes on high alert. Have one of the CBGs begin a slow steam towards the area."

"Our thoughts exactly", said Vlad. "I'll keep you updated..........when your'e not 'busy.'"

"Oh, is that so? Well, I guess we could revoke the Vantanian rights to their protectorate. There's always the chance for a compromise though." -he turned to the Vantanian delegate- "Please meet me outside in five minutes, good sir." -then back at Hogart- "No survivors? Good, less zombies to take care of."

Hogart was furious "You do know that there's nothing preventing me from turning your brain to a pile of slime on the wall behind you?" He sneered, slowly reaching for his pistol "Actually, there is" Said a woman in her late twenties "Oh, hello Mary" Said Hogart to the woman "Back to topic..." Said Mary "What President Hogart here is trying to say is that if you sell the buy the territory, you will be giving these people a reason to take more of our land so that they can sell it to others..."

The Vantanian sighed. Cazelians thinking they could survive killing a Soviet delegate was hilarious. Out loud, he told the Cazelian this: "Why would we be bothered to take more land? We had a very singular purpose when we took the land, and that purpose is fulfilled." Simoltaneously, he slid a slip of paper to the Soviet discreetly.

I've arrived on a price for the Cazelian protectorate. How does some servants rags, thirty cents, and a jar full of the finest dirt sound?

Governor Smoot, who had been silent nearly the whole meeting, stood up and began to speak amid the chaos.

"Ok people, this is a peace conference, we are figuring out how to settle the issue of who owns Orlock not how we treat the citizens of former Cazelian possesions. But just so I make this clear, Cazelians in Cruorem Insula in Yarkai are treated just as nice as any Aurum Doman citizen. The latest stats suggest an unemployment rate of only 2.5% and the economy their is growing astronomically, I don't think that can be said about anyoen else's territories.

"I would suggest that the honerable delegates swalow their prides and conduct them selves like diplomats rather than common thugs, so that we may arrive at a satisfactory agreement here, without another war." Lord Sumguy said, looking annoyed.

"Governor Smoot, your assessment is, of course, excluding Vetalian Yarkai. Our territories in the region are colossally wealthy, and the Cazelians within have been treated well since we came in to possession of the territory. It was us who gave them shelter during the formative period when other governments were using...extreme...methods to control their territories.

Nonetheless, our territories are a model for the successful development of Cazelian lands that other governments should heed. The Vetalian colonial experience has been quite profitable, as has yours, of course."

"This is very simple. We have given the Soviets a very serious price," he motioned to the paper, "from which they can pay to purchase our little slice of Cazelia. Then we're gone, and the Soviets can do whatever they want with the place.

"We'd be more than willing to buy it, for a far higher price than anything the Soviets could offer. There are, of course...extemporaneous reasons for this purchase, but it would be completely legitimate nonetheless."

The Soviet delegate looked up, first at the Vantanian and then at the Vetalian, addressing the latter.

"Now, good sir, that isnt for you to decide, I'm afraid that we reserve the right to grant protectorates in Old Cazelia. But, perhaps we could reach an agreement about that."

Then back at the Vantanian.

"So, you are saying you'll leave Old Cazelia if we pay what's written in this paper?"

"What ever happened to our opinion!" Yelled Hogart "This was our territory to begin with! Nobody ever had the right to slaughter our people just because they could! People are suffering here! What happened to the old Soviets during the first war?!"

"What do you mean by 'Old Soviets'? Most people living there are on their forties or thirties, yes, but I would not go as far as calling them 'Old'.

Yeah, I was kidding, well, I guess we could discuss giving you back your former possesions, that's an idea as good as any."

"Decades? Well, surely Cazelians have a different way of measuring time, because according to my calendar, only a few years have passed.

But anyways, the guys that got your king... Yeah, they are still alive and kicking."

"So, you are saying you'll leave Old Cazelia if we pay what's written in this paper?"

The Vantanian nodded sleepily, mumbling a response, "Yes. It's slightly overpriced on what the territory is actually worth, but we feel you'll be able to find the payment somehow."

Slapping himself awake, he then faced Hogart, world reknowned Overdrama Queen, "Listen, we still have some Yarkai property. The Outlands. I'm sure you're aware of them. We're willing to let all of the Cazelians emigrate away... to somewhere and sell you the territory, if you let the Vantanians out. The asking price is some advil, an empty bullet shell, and a new razor." he said, his hand went to his unshaved face thoughtfully.

OOC: I'm serious about the prices, I don't feel like having Cazelian territory anymore.

"Umm....Why do you need an empty casing? Never the less, we'll take your deal. Send a ship or two to pick up your people and we can start re-building" Hogart whispered something into Mary's ear and she ran off, only to return with a razor, an anvil, and a bullet casing "Ungh...That's one heavy anvil..."

"Good." The Vantanian said, taking the supplies before leaving, saying over his back, "The Vantanian government will expect payment by this time next week, Soviet."

With that, he left, the last Vantanian to meddle in Cazelian affairs for sometime.
