OOC: Plan? HA! Plans are for communists (inside joke). Really, there is no plan. I wanted to do an RP where a deadly disease was discovered, but I don't see the point really. Perhaps at a later date. As for other plans, the plan was just to make an eco-friendly island with advanced technology.

New Moscuvy Settlement Plot

Over 25,000 Stoklomolvi ships sailed across the frozen North Sea to reach the small island of Okhotsk. Thousands of Stoklomolvi citizens sailed to this new colony, where hopefully a profit can be generated. Unlike New Vladistov colony at Åsavik Island, where a single hurricane destroyed the colony, this colony would hopefully survive the low temperatures.

At any rate, civilians and supplies were being unloaded onto the icy ground. Cargo trucks and construction vehicles drove off of the massive container ships, and prefabricated Quonset huts were set up all over the place. However, at the moment more supplies were en route from northern Stoklomolvi. The colony of New Moscuvy was just beginning.

[OOC: Note, is it all right if we consider this to be above the northern Russian area? As in, north of Siberia?]

Future Site of Frostsär

The dark grey vessels of the Imperial Fleet sat relatively still in the Sea of Okhotsk. THey were not warships, but colonisation vessels and transports.

A small boat hit the shore of the island, and the first Kiravians to set foot on the island walked onto land.

Their leader, Kopren Icepine, recited a short speech, planted the newly designed flag of Frostsär into the ground, stepped aside for religious leaders to make prayers and statements, and then ordered for work to begin.

Cargo of all sorts was unloaded from the ships. Food, Water, equipment, appliances, building materials, tree seedlings, agricultural machinery, cloth, prnted materials, personal baggage, vehicles, and so on. The settlers set up a tent town where they would sleep until Frostsär was built. The Kiravians were a Mediterranean-to-Polar people, and did not mind the cold in the least.

THe new flag of the city flew above the camp as the ships turned back to Alåvora Colony.

New Alpine Settlement

4-5 LCAV's sped towards the beach, full of colonists, and supplies for the new settlement, they disembarked on the beach and started to carry the supplies inland. Terry Storm, brother of the governor of Calizstana colony, hoped to be elected mayor of New Alpine.

He groaned under the weight of some of the metal tools, that would be used to dig out foundations for buildings, and his friend Henry Max slapped him and said "Get used to it Terry, I bet Harry wouldn't like to hear his brother complaining on a relatively peaceful island, compared to him, who is surrounded by hostile natives.."

Borganstiene, Okhotsk Island

A BAC C-5 Bragð Kóngur was scouting the colony site. After taking aerial photographs five men parachuted out of the aircraft before it returned to base. The first thing the men did when they landed was set up the radio and a base camp. Once the radio was set up on of the men radioed the Royal Temple in the City of the Blessed, "Stage one of Operation Borganstiene is underway, hope to have stage one finished before nightfall. Next communication will be when stage one is finished, over."

North of Ellis

The small ships crowed with about 5,000 people were eagarly awating new lands and a future for them on Okhotsk Island.

The ships anchored outside of an inlet, where several people set foot upon shore and set up a small camp area for the people onboard. After doing so for about 2 to three days, the other passengers set foot on land, where the ships left them to go and get more colonists arriving from Martaniqua.

A week into the citys progress, and it already had a few thatched houses, a chapel, a city center, and a dock. It was only the beginning of the colony of Santala Harbour.

Govenor Hydesfield had assembled a team of scouts to look around the area and find any other settlements in the area.........hopefully, they would arive into many.

A group of Kiravians that followed Inuit Animism were outside the camp, praying to Sedna, godess of the Northern Seas. THey saw the Zoingoan scouts, and welcomed them into Frostsär.

"Hello, and what might this settlement be named?" asked one of the scouts, he then looked of into the distance, and noticed the flag.

"Oh, you are Kiravian, we are from Zoingo, and our colony, Santula Harbour, is just a bit aways from here."

"Why yes, we are Kiravian. This town is called Frostsär. It means "Frost-settlement" in Coscivian. It is wonderful to have citizens of an allied nation so close to us. Come, you must be cold in this weather. We have food and drink inside.", they said, pointing to a prefabricated building.

Borganstiene, Okhotsk Island

The Beatusian lookout spotted the Zoingoan scouts. He was not sure who they were. He radioed his commander and made him aware of they visitors. Commander Rob Holman of the Civil Defense Engineer Corpse came down to greet the newcomers. He walked out into the clearing they were in and asked in a loud, calm voice, "Welcome, who are you and from where do you come?"

New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

The myriad of Quonset huts held over 280,000 people, which was more than anticipated. A number of Zoingoan scouts appeared near the perimeter, and from that point the new university and hospital that were under construction could be seen. At any rate, ten members of the Stoklomolvi Military Police Force were stationed there, and they halted the scouts. They recognised the Zoingoan emblem, and they told the scouts to go into the colony to meet the governor, who was Karl Friedrich Gauss, a German immigrant who had worked his way up the social ladder to become quite an influential corporate businessman. However, he was quite nasty at times, and as such was not too popular with the citizenry.

[OOC: I did a bit of research, and I discovered that the real Okhotsk settlement is at the eastern coast of Russia, which is in turn the eastern coast of Stoklomolvi. As such, I think that Okhotsk Island should be off the eastern coast. Anyway, The Beatus I thought that it was a Corps, not a Corpse.]

Several ships, rather large ones I must say, came several hundred yards away from the shoreline. There, the majority of the people would stay, it would be next to impossible for the thousands of people to come at once. Instead, a few hundred select people came to the initial landing.

One man, Michael Choi a tall Korean-Brittonian wearing a black suit and carring Rites and Rituals of the Faedarm Faith walked up to the congregation and said,

"Thank all of you for coming, I wish for all of us to begin building rather soon, but first let us have a quick prayer.

Dearest Barn, Goddess of the All Lands, please grant us a good future on this new island, we wish for safety and prosperity on this new land, please intercede with the ful pantheon of gods and goddesses, thank you.

Everyone, please report to your assigned comittees now."

While the commander was investigating the newcomers, the others were clearing a flat strip of land to act as a runway.

"Why yes, we are Kiravian. This town is called Frostsär. It means "Frost-settlement" in Coscivian. It is wonderful to have citizens of an allied nation so close to us. Come, you must be cold in this weather. We have food and drink inside.", they said, pointing to a prefabricated building.

"Yes, please! We do have buildings like that, but on a lesser scale, and what language is Coscivian?"

"It is our language. Or rather, our languages. It's a very broad, but closely related family of languages, based off of Indo-European. In our borough alone, we speak 20 different Coscivian languages, but we can easily understand each other nonetheless. You will hear when we get inside."

New Moscuvy Settlement Plot

Well, I named it after the Sea of Okhotsk, off of Kamchatka, so it's in the right general area.

Edit: Just saw the other post, Stoklomolvi. Yeah, Okhotsk Island would be a stone's throw from Stoklomolvi proper.

Throughout the night, the several hundred men and women there assembled hundreds of large canvas tents for the thousands of people that will eventualy come. Currently, there were the original hundred people, and then came the around one-hundred-fifty people who happened to have firearms of some sort, arranged into what mght me considered as a militia. Several men in military uniforms walked near the site(OOC: Zoingo), where a men saw them, and said,

"Halt! Who is this?"

OOC: Just a note, this island is huge, so Tram is probably the best way to go. Prebuilt Tram Stations are at every settlement area, so that would be a good place to start building from. The trains themselves are underground, and the stations are very plain, but leave plenty of room to be upgraded for a specific look.

Okhotsk Island:

The Yanitarian Army sent out RG-31's to all new settlements. They were to devliver maps, documents, and a large flatscreen tv to each settlement.

The screen was placed on the underground entrance to the tram for all to see. Once installed, the face of Citizen Mattias Norheim, seated in his chair in the presidential palace.

"Welcome, partially autonomous citizens of Yanitaria. As you know, your previous rulers, or in the case of those settlements established by private organizations, organizers will have a lot of say in your municiple government. However, being that there are only three major Yanitarian settlements, it is totally possible that you will never see a Yanitarian from the mainland.

"Given this, you may never learn cultural nuances that run universal throughout our culture. Because of this, in the comming weeks, bulletins will be provided, so that should you ever decide to visit the mainland or a major city, you will completely understand what is going on. For instance, instead of Mister, Mistress, Missus, Miss, Madame, or Monsieur, we have dispensed with honorific titles. Yanitarians refer to citizens of the USSY as 'Citizen', and foreigners as 'Comrade'. Even as president, I am still called Citizen Norheim as much as President Norheim. You, as a partially autonomous citizen will be referred to as Citizen.

"Moving on, once the daily culture bulletins are done, the screen will remain to serve as a community bulletin board. The screen itself can resist the climate very well, and once it is worn out, it will be replaced. Hopefully, this will be the start of a great learning experience for Yanitarians, and our new Citizens on Okhotsk Island. I personally look forward to learning about new cultures from all over the world.

"However, I must caution you," The president was replaced by a map of Okhotsk, " the area around these two points is restricted. It is best to not travel there." The two red dots corresponding to the military bases flashed. "Either way, there is no public tram, and traveling over 10km with out proper gear is considered insane at best.

"Anyway," the president reappeared on screen again, "I hope you enjoy your new life here. Hopefully, you will find Okhotsk Island to be a utopian place to live."

"Ah yes, of course, so let us procced inside"

"We are scouts from the Zoingonian settlement Santula Harbour," explained one of them. "All we came here for is to scout out the territory, and any neighboring settlements.

New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

The citizens in their Quonset huts watched the small television sets in their huts. The broadcast of President Norheim was viewed by 300,000 Stoklomolvi citizens, and after the broadcast was over everyone went back to work. At the nearby harbour city of Port Stoklomolvi massive container ships were loaded with concrete, cement, construction materials, steel, blocks of polyurethane foam, and automobiles. Other ships were loaded with weapons, such as AK-2130 Assault Rifles and supplies necessary to construct shore guns. They departed for the nearby Okhotsk island, which was estimated to be 210 km away from the port.

Meanwhile, at the settlement, a new apartment was being constructed with underlying pipes running with antifreeze. The apartment was only one fourth complete, and the required materials were being awaited by eager construction crews. The SMPF were performing drills in the nearby snow, and several contingents of the Imperial Guard had arrived to perform scout checks. Three armoured cars were dispatched to the other cities, and a satellite designated OTSK-1 flew overhead and took pictures of the small island. New Moscuvy's progress was documented by the governor that day.

The Govenor of the province, Bruce Netherfield sent the following messege to Stoklomolvi:

We don't usually allow military units here. Because of your status as an allied nation, we will allow light military presence. Make sure no scout cars approach Naval Station Echo 1 or Fort Norheim SMB, or they will be fired upon.

To Governor Bruce Netherfield of Okhotsk Island

We apologise for the military intrusion, but they are purely here to examine the island for the Stoklomolvi government in Vladistov. We have already informed the scouts to not approach your military bases, and the armoured cars will only visit other settlements. We have spotted some of your workers laying down phone line, and we have found this to be quite distressing. These phone lines will freeze during the winter storms, and we have already finished laying down underground phone lines underneath New Moscuvy. If you wish, we will lay down underground lines for you if given permission.

Borganstiene, Okhotsk Island

No one on the island noticed how or when the city of Borganstien came to be. They went to bed on night and there were only five engineers and a tent, and the next morning there was a small city. Streets, houses, schools, offices, municipal buildings, heliports, a geothermal power station, and a dirt runway with many earthen plane stands. Of course these were only the bear shells of buildings no furnishings or equipment was in place. The number of engineers had risen overnight from 5 to nearly 1000, and an automated quarry had been setup to gather rocks and turn them into bricks. That day the people began to arrive. Planes were constantly landing and taking off form the dirt runway. Helicopters, automobiles, office equipment, geothermal energy production equipment, computer, furnishing, manufacturing equipment, and other necessary supplies arrived with them. By nightfall the cities power and communications grids were online. A helicopter was sent out to the colony of New Moscuvy to see how they were progressing. The pilot was careful to avoid Naval Station Echo 1, Fort Norheim SMB, and any other heavily populated areas.

Santula Harbour

The city of Santula Harbour had now progressed dramaticly, with over 50,000 residents, the city of the Enlightment was rapidly growing. The dirt streets were now cobblestone streets, the thatched buildings were now a large style of brick, a hospital, a few schools, a fire station, and a police station were built, and large merchant houses could now be seen near the city square and the common area. The economy was flourishing, and many goods and valuable items were being traded and collected anually. The culture of the city was flourishing with a few librarys, a theater, a music arts studio, and an orchestra house that was under construction. A milita had also formed, armed with classic muzzle loaders to go with the feel of the Enlightment city.

Borganstiene, Okhotsk Island

A helicopter was also dispatched to Santula Harbour to see how the colonist were fairing there. The next morning the city was abuzz with activity. Children were riding the bus to school, businessmen were stopped in rush hour traffic on they're way to work. A second dirt runway was cleared parallel to the first. Construction began on high wealth residential neighborhoods on a ridge near the east side of town. The city was booming. The mayor was at the dirt runway for a ribbon cutting ceremony, where he officially named it Borganstiene International Airdock. A wooden sign was pounded into the ground next to the dirt runway, and the ground was officially broken on a new control tower and terminal complex. The water, sewer and sanitation systems were also completed, ensuring all citizens indoor plumbing, trash pickup, and clean drinking water. The mayor was very busy that day, for after he attended the ceremony at Borganstiene International Airdock, he attended the openings of 2 hospitals, the government complex and a strip mall.

All right, we will aid in the construction of the tram line if you request it to be so. The Imperial Guardsmen have already mapped out the island in depth, and combined with satellite imagery quite an advanced picture has been drawn out. We will probably reach a 500,000 population by mid December [a few hours, maybe 8]. Currently, four apartment complexes have been constructed, the New Moscuvy University is almost done, and the hospital is complete. Two canneries and four manufacturing plants have been constructed near the harbour, and we have set up thirty four shore guns. Thank you.

12 Days Later, New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

The town grew larger at a nearly exponential rate; on the first day, there were around 200,000 citizens. By the next few weeks, 360,000 citizens were living in New Moscuvy. This number was planned to exceed 500,000 by December [again, a few hours, maybe 8]. A rail station was constructed, and a domestic airport was being paved. Two massive fusion power generators were built near the harbour, and a barracks was constructed near the city wall for the SMPF. A subway was dug, and the New Moscuvy University (http://hometown.aol.com/twalls1068/page4/MosUn.JPG) was completed. It stood proudly over the city as a landmark, and hundreds of students attended. However, it was operating at only one eighth of its capacity, as most college level students stayed at home, where educational buildings were much nicer.

There were five manufacturing plants, and three canneries existed in the city. Two water pumps desalinated sea water and pumped it through massive water mains, and these pipes stopped at the city limits. One skilled cartographer began to chart out the city.

New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

The helicopter that had been sent to see how the New Moscuvy colonist were doing landed near the city. A man got out as the engines powered down.

Outskirts of New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

Four SMPF officers drove towards the landed helicopter in an armoured car. When they neared the helicopter, they slowed down and halted near the helicopter. One of the officers climbed out of the armoured car.

"Hello, there! Are you the person that we have seen heading towards New Moscuvy from the Betusian colony?"

Outskirts of New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

Four SMPF officers drove towards the landed helicopter in an armoured car. When they neared the helicopter, they slowed down and halted near the helicopter. One of the officers climbed out of the armoured car.

"Hello, there! Are you the person that we have seen heading towards New Moscuvy from the Betusian colony?"

"Yes, I am Council Member Frank Davis," said Frank. "I have come to discuss our relations while on the island. It is quite cold, so if you could show me where I may meet your leader, it would be much appreciated."

New Moscuvy Redoubt, New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

The governor, dressed in a black suit with a combination cap, greeted the council member as the armoured car pulled into the redoubt in the centre of New Moscuvy. Karl took the councilman into the fortress, where he asked him to sit down and have a mug of hot chocolate.

"So, old sport, what would you like to discuss? We were planning on extending our rail line and highway system to your colony."

New Alpine,

1900 at night...




Terry Storm was sitting on the front steps of the house he built himself, with a Winchester Model 94, keeping guard to make sure no foreigners intruded without warning onto their grounds. He smirked, thinking of what a rough time Harry must be having, waging war against the natives.

He wondered if anyone would pass by the colony anytime soon...

New Alpine Colony, Okhotsk Island

One armoured car with five SMPF officers inside drove by the small house. In front of that house was a shadowy figure of a man, who appeared to be holding a rifle of some kind. The armoured car approached the house, and an officer with a loudspeaker pointed it at the man.

"Attention, fellow colonist! We wish to know where your colony's leader is!"

New Alpine Colony, Okhotsk Island

One armoured car with five SMPF officers inside drove by the small house. In front of that house was a shadowy figure of a man, who appeared to be holding a rifle of some kind. The armoured car approached the house, and an officer with a loudspeaker pointed it at the man.

"Attention, fellow colonist! We wish to know where your colony's leader is!"

Terry stood up, and leaned his rifle against the wall and he yelled back so they could hear him "I am the newly elected governor of the colony, if you want to know? Nice night isn't it?" He smiled, and he wondered what they would ask him. He motioned them to come inside his cozy cabin, he had a mansion too, that was in downtown New Alpine.

New Alpine Colony, Okhotsk Island

The SMPF officers parked the armoured car outside of the cabin, and they got out of the vehicle. They locked the entrance hatch, and followed the governor of New Alpine into the cabin. One of the officers pulled out a map, and he checked the city that was labelled New Alpine.

"One colony has been contacted, and now we officially know that they exist!"

The officer beamed.

"We are scouts from the Zoingonian settlement Santula Harbour," explained one of them. "All we came here for is to scout out the territory, and any neighboring settlements.

"Is that all you need?"

New Alpine Colony, Okhotsk Island

Terry smiled, the flat screen T.V showed a news report from Calizstana, the other colonial possession of Calizorinstan, the headline reading "Governor Harry Storm orders airstrikes on native cities to purge the fight out the enemy." The caption read "The Trang Air Base busy with activity of Colonial Defense, a couple of F-15E's took off of Trang 15 minutes ago, and a brigade of troops left New Diego to fight the natives.."

Terry turned the T.V off and said "I was just watching the news report of Calizstana, when I went outside, and you showed up."

"Is that all you need?"

"Well, it would be nice if we could have some food, and see if you know of any other colonies in the area"

New Moscuvy Redoubt, New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

"Why, yes, as a matter of fact, we do have an airport. Domestic flights only, however, though we will fly to other colonies!"

The governor took out a map of New Moscuvy, just drawn the other day. However, the map was still very primitive, and another one was being drawn out. He pointed to the municipal airport.

Terry Storm prepared tea and scones for the SMPF officers and he said "I am thinking about having an airport made for New Alpine, because it'll provide more options for people that wish to visit New Alpine."

New Alpine, Okhotsk Island, 0200 hours

One of the officers spoke up.

"We already have paved over some of the icy land for an airport, and if you wish I think we can send over a container ship from Stoklomolvi loaded with construction supplies to pave an airstrip for you. Also, since Stoklomolvi is so close to Okhotsk, I think we can also send over construction vehicles to build terminals and the like."

An Asian man qwaring a brown Tweed suit walked up to the scouts and said,
"I am sorry, please excuse me, I'm Michael Choi, governor of this area. Of course we will be happy to welcome you in here. May I take you to my tent to have this discussion?"

Also we should not need a whole terminal for this will mainly be a cargo operation, you know, ship something to the port, take it to the airport, and fly it into our city. An armoured car with four SMPF officers loaded inside drove by as the helicopter descended in the distance. The side of the car had a great big Stoklomolvi Imperial Guard flag on it, and ice flew everywhere as the car ploughed through snow and ice to reach the city.

"Who goes there?" asked one of the milita officers.

While walking to a large, black coffee maker, the governor said,

"We already have paved over some of the icy land for an airport, and if you wish I think we can send over a container ship from Stoklomolvi loaded with construction supplies to pave an airstrip for you. Also, since Stoklomolvi is so close to Okhotsk, I think we can also send over construction vehicles to build terminals and the like."

Terry Storm smiled and said "I accept your offer of the container ship and construction vehicles. Downtown New Alpine is already growing in population, between it and Calizstana, it's taking some of the population burden off of Calizorinstan itself. Last I checked, there's a grocery store chain that started up downtown New Alpine, called Terry's, I think. No, I didn't start it. Point is, that the airport will help, bringing tourism to New Alpine, and the other colonies of the area, once international tourists discover New Alpine, and they find out about the others, we can then start up inter island flights."

With the opening of Okhotsk Island to settlement, many Errikans, particularly young adults, eager to make a new life in a new life in a new land, set out to settle on the newly available island. Thousands and thousands volunteered or followed their families, setting out to the new island in a wave of migration not seen in scale since the last major Arterusian wave.

These new settlers, most of them coming with relatives and money to invest, settled in a particular area of New Vladivostok, quickly developing new communities.

He looked at his watch and looked around, and saw a car, not the SMPF car, but it looked like another foreigner's car. He pointed the muzzle down and cried "Who goes there"

The previously new settlement grew in size faster than predicted. By December, it had reached over 700,000 inhabitants. It reached 800,000 the next week, and the population still climbs. Ten runways were available for use in the New Moscuvy Airport, and as promised one section of harbour and the cargo airstrip was given to the Beatus. The New Moscuvy Airport was considering an upgrade to international status before the fifteenth terminal; there were only fourteen terminals. The Stoklomolvi Aerial Transportation Bureau approved, and the airport was designated as the New Moscuvy International Airport.

The New Moscuvy University was completed, as were twenty five apartment buildings. An electronic statistic compilation was sent to the Yanitarian colonial government.

He was wearing a sky blue combat uniform, the camouflage in a digital pattern, the sky blue colour signifying his former service in the Air Defence Corps. He began to walk over to the man, hi hands at his sides but still showing his revolver in his holster at his waist.

Terry was awakened to a knock on the door, and he sleepily put on boots, and putting his hat and mufflers on walked to the door and said "What is it? did I not tell the lieutenant governor not to awake me at this hour?", a muffled voice said "Sir, the town's passed 750,000 inhabitants, I just thought you'd like to know.." Terry opened the door, and there stood the lieutenant governor, Mike Konaheu. Terry said "That's wonderful news, I suppose I'll drive downtown.."

Terry climbed into his midnight blue 1971 Ford Mach 1 Mustang fastback, tuned up to 420 horsepower, and sped down Highway 42 to New Alpine, downtown to his mansion.

In time, the city was complete. Apartments, offices, government buildings, schools, a port, defencive walls, and firm buildings had been built. Telegraph and internet connections with the Empire had been established, and a local cell phone service opened up. 3,257 new settlers from Kirav, Kirverda, and the Colonies, plus 12 new children born to the original settlers, swelled the population. Ships from the Empire began to arrive to trade with the new settlement, and soon, the economy began to take shape.

New Moscuvy

It was around ten in the afternoon; dark enough for smugglers. At around ten thirty a small ship was spotted on the horizon, and was travelling quite fast towards the port. Aboard the small boat were three men, with explosives in the rear of the boat. An SMPF officer spotted it, and reported it to his superiors. The boat was contacted, but no reply was received. Hence, one of the shore batteries fired, completely obliterating the ship and leaving a fiery cloud extending into the air. Several citizens nearby were woken up, but went back to sleep.

YMS Okhotsk, Type 7 Aviso class:

Come in New Muscovy. We heard a shot fired. Everything okay? We are moving towards the explosion area.

Morse Code Station, New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

The operator was busy tapping out a message to the Yanitarian patrol craft.

"Vasili! Get your ass out here! The brigands have returned!"

"What, sir?!"

"Move it!"

Vasili jumped out of his chair and ran outside, only to see a massive fire fight taking place. He was shocked, and immediately ran back inside to warn Yanitaria of enemy naval vessels in the area.

Meanwhile, all of the shore batteries were opening fire with 20cm shells on tiny boats that were constantly harassing the harbour. The SMPF, equipped with MG3 Heavy Machine Guns and AK-2130 Assault Rifles, fought back most of the brigands. However, the seemingly endless amount of enemy soldiers shocked the SMPF, who expected but a few boats.

A moment later, the Stoklomolvi UAV reported in to the New Moscuvy Communications Centre, which had since been a hub of activity.

"Sir, there is a battleship parked off the shore. I cannot tell what is happening aboard the ship due to the lack of light. However, it appears that landing crafts are being launched."

"Try to find out what is on the ship! Examine closer!"

"Yes, sir."

The communications officer grumbled to himself.

"Dang artificial intelligence...thinking they're all smart...gr..."

"I heard that, sir."

"GAH!"

Meanwhile, the battleship was firing its main cannons, and water was flung high into the air. Two shore batteries were destroyed by the enemy fire, and forty SMPF officers were killed already. It was only a matter of time...

New Alpine

Terry Storm saw a dark boat speeding towards them, from the horizon, it appeared to be a smugglers boat, and he ordered the naval destroyer, U.S.S Sacremento to give chase to it. The Sacremento chased the little boat, and opened warning fire on the boat, which suddenly changed course and started running..

YMS Okhotsk:

Commander Hawthorne read the unfinished communication. "Full engines ahead."

The Okhotsk sped towards the sound of the shot, and was nearly there when they saw something on the radar.

"Skipper, large contact up ahead-" there was a flash of light as something large fired.

"Red alert! Battlestations! Change bearing to Eight-Five-Zero, Whiskey November!*"

(* 85.0 degrees West of North)

The ship turned a hard left, and the commander stood.

"Fire 2 anti-ship missiles at the smugglers vessel. Call in the YMS November and the YMS Stalwart, we may need help. Fire the main gun at the small vessels."

Two Harpoon anti-ship missiles roared from their box launchers, skimming the water toward the battleship.

The missiles split the air, and the moment they impacted on the hull armour of the battleship another full broadside was fired. One of the missiles literally ricocheted off of the extremely thick port side armour. The other exploded, leaving a scorch mark but nothing more. Shells from New Moscuvy impacted several times on the armour to no effect. However, shells received by New Moscuvy had already destroyed four more shore guns, and one apartment was at risk of being destroyed. As such, New Moscuvy was given the order to evacuate.

Vasili quickly tapped out another message.

He used a different format this time, since Morse code was rarely used any more. Immediately after sending the message, a 406mm artillery shell nearly obliterated the room. Vasili was sent flying to a wall, where the door was bashed down by his weight. He stumbled back up, and ran towards his car. He jumped in, and moments later another artillery shell hit that very car. His body was never found.

Meanwhile, the shore guns continued to open fire. The 72nd Imperial Navy was sailing over from around 40km away, and it would arrive in around one hour. The SMPF were holding off very well, until the onslaught stopped. After a moment, LCVPs started to sail across the water to the port, and a modern Battle for Normandy had begun.

Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean

Elsewhere, the small ship that was being chased suddenly stopped. The main guns of the destroyer vaporised the ship. However, it had fallen into a trap; several small aircraft flew over and started shooting and torpedoing the destroyer.

WE REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE. SIX SHORE GUNS DESTROYED. ONE HUNDRED AND TWO OFFICERS KILLED. IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE REQUIRED.

The harpoon missiles, a modern missile that had sunk many ships before, had failed. To his horror, Commander Hawthorne saw only a scorch mark on the side of the battleship.

"Radio Ft. Norheim, we need a sub here, NOW!"

Meanwhile, the 76mm shells tore through the outdated vessels. Their entire compliment of soldiers soon swam helplessly among dead men.

Fort Norheim:

After receiving the message sent by commander Hawthorne, the entire area was sent on alert. The submarine fleet was scrambled, and three Seawolf classes were sent to the invasion area.

The commander of the base sent a phone call to the C&C center of the missile base from his bedroom.

"Fire as many SRBM's as we need. I will not have our base taken!" (OOC: The USSY does not have any nuclear missiles. The current missiles about to be fired have a conventional explosive, anti-shipping warhead.)

A single SRBM was fired. As it raced through the clouds, it made adjustments, aiming for the battleship. Soon it reached it's destination, and drove itself home in the ships magazine.

Soon there was a bright fireworks show, and the entire thing went up in a blaze. The officers aboard the YMS Okhotsk cheered as the bloody thing sank.

However there were still landing vessels that needed to be taken care of. From Ft. Norheim, 1,000 Yanitarian Army Regulars soon were on a train, fully equipped, and riding in their RG-31's and Ratel IFV's that were strapped to the beds.

Ft. Norheim sent a message through all lines, including the giant LCD TV on top of the underground train station.

"Attention New Moscuvy. Help is on the way. Army and Navy en route. Do Not Panic, and evacuate in an orderly fashion."

OOC: Let's limit this to pirates operating on a nearby Island. Say, no more than 10,000 mercenaries? Also, the whole magazine issue with battleships is their weak point.

New Moscuvy, Okhotsk Island

Only 3,000 civilians remained in the city, while everyone else camped outside the city walls. Most of the shore batteries were destroyed, and fifteen LCVPs had landed on the shore. Most of the SMPF resorted to using shock lances and rapiers to fight off the melee weapon using brigands. Others still used AK-2130 Assault Rifles, but slowly they were being overrun. Several armoured cars began running down the brigands, but the brigands with outdated, black powder using RPG-7s exploded two armoured cars. Meanwhile, an amazing two dreadnoughts sailed from a nearby island. Apparently, this island had its own automated anti-ballistic defence system, showing signs of inhabitation. At any rate, the dreadnoughts did not use magazines; they used primitive laser weaponry in addition to cruise missiles. This would pose a problem.

OOC: The pirates must have spent their weapons fund on ships, as they can afford Super Dreadnoughts, but not decent anti-tank weapons.

In any case, I am gonna add a couple new task forces to my fleet.

Commander Hawthorne panicked.

"Retreat bearing Zero-Niner-Zero, Sierra Whiskey! Send emergency broadcasts over FLEETCOM, I want the entire Navy to know!"

[OOC: Nyet, not super-dreadnoughts, just dreadnoughts. They use railguns and lasers, quite advanced.]

The R.C.S Sacramento launched projectiles at the small boat, and the boat nimbly dodged the projectiles, and the Captain of the Boat, Terry Miles recognized the pirate in charge of the boat!, He muttered "Iceman, we thought that you went down in a EF-4D crash 10 years ago.." The man at the wheel shrieked with laughter as he started a ramming course for the ship. Terry Miles thought quickly "He must have explosives, FIRE!" The ship fired a projectile at the small boat, which exploded in a great ball of fire.

Terry Miles ordered a course set for 4th Fleet which was 150 miles from New Alpine, Okhotsk Island.

YMS Razor:

The Seawolf class was fast approaching the area of conflict. They had intel on the two dreadnoughts, which at first were believed to be exaggeration. However their sister ship, the YMS Dirk confirmed it via passive sonar. Two dreadnoughts, using rail guns and lasers, blasting wholes around New Moscuvy.

The Razor's skipper, Commodore Dillinger dictated a message in morse code to the Dirk. It read something to the effect of:

Hit the screws with your compliment of torpedoes. We will only have one shot. Launch, and prepare to fire a second volley just in case. Good luck.

The ships silently moved into position...

OOC: Sorry, Stoklomolvi, I read it wrong.

New Moscuvy Coast:

The two submarines let their combined 16 torpedoes fly, each hitting their target. The 4 screws on each ship were totaled, and the engine compartments started to flood.

Top side, the ships sunk a few feet before the engine rooms had completely flooded. While still operable, the two dreadnoughts were sitting ducks. From an airstrip at Fort Norheim, three Su-47's launched, armed with guided rockets.

Coming in low, the strafed the decks, before quickly graining altitude, and letting one of their bombs go. They did this 4 times, once for each 2000lb bomb, disabling the main weapons, or at least crippling them.

However, this only meant that the ships would now have to be boarded, and taken by force.

In the city, Yanitarian Soldiers arrived via train, and helped push back the pirates.

New Moscuvy Coast

The disabled dreadnoughts sank and actually rested on the ocean bottom, though there was no visible change. In reality, the ship was actually ploughing through the sea floor when it was "driving" over to New Moscuvy. The seven main guns and the ten auxiliary guns were disabled, but soon after the laser turrets emerged out of hidden compartments. They started firing towards New MoscuvyThe disabled railguns fell off, and created plumes of water that extended in excess of twenty metres in the air.

Meanwhile, the pirates were failing and were being pushed back to the harbour. Joint SMPF and Yanitarian troops were pushing back the enemy to the point that they literally started falling into the water. Soon after the pirates were defeated, two scores of SMPF officers manned the shore guns and started firing at the two disable dreadnoughts once more. The SMPF lined the shore, while the Yanitarian troops sat around in the back, idling. Nobody in the city suspected the 200mm artillery bombardment that boomed from the pirate's base grotto.

The Frostsärers were quite worried about the recent pirate attacks. They were still heavily dependent upon shipments from the Empire, and a string of pirate raids could leave them starving for weeks. Until the subarcticale crops matured, most food either came from hunting or shipments from Kirav's farming colonies.

OOC: Opening up another possibility here.

OOC: Indeed, if you want a pirate attack, RP it, and the Yanitarian Armed Forces will respond, along with the local police, and what ever troops Kirav wishes to send.

He sighed. The new mistress, young and appealing pouted. The Admiral, one of the few theists in Yanitaria winced slightly, and wondered what his father must have thought about this.

"I must go to my ship. I'll be back soon, je promets."

OOC: It's only a one time joke. The reference is rather blatant.

Frostsär

The city was now a prosperous community. 15,000 more settlers had arrived since the city's founding. Subarcticale, Taigacale, potato, and sugar beet crops had been succesfully harvested. Landowners began an arbouriculture industry, by farming native trees for export. In addition to commercial tree-farming, the municipality began to take seedlings form the inland forests, in order to create a dense coniferous forest around Frostsär.

A small airport had been built near the city limits, and the seaport had been greatly improved. Factories to manufacture a veriety of goods, ranging from cans to computer parts were up and running, as was the power grid and the new cell phone service. The shipyard had recently taken out a contract to build icebreakers for the Imperial Navy to use in the Northwest Pacific.

However, the demographics of the city were changing. 30% colonists of the Grøenlev, Phaerov, Orcuv, and related ethnic groups had relocated to the Canevra Colony, or returned to Kirav or Kirverda. Meanwhilst, more Danrev and Lâbrev had moved in.

The Kiravic culture of the city was quite evident. They were geometric, yet undeniably creative and artistic, made out of local stone, cement imported from nearby settlements, and/or metal. Music in the languages of Europe pured out of windows. [Most Coscivian words end in suffixes, so music is composed in European languages instead]
