There has been a whirl of activity at IDF Shipyards over the past decade. Large amounts of equipment and personnel have been filtering into the giant enclosed portion of the shipyard. The IDF Kheil Heim has not produced a large super dreadnought since the Netanyahu class, and that was smaller than the previous SDN built by IDF.
There has been much speculation about a new class of super-dreadnoughts. After the disappointment of the Guillen class, it was expected that IDF would try once again to build a large SDN. The Netanyahu's construction went against what we expected on this site, but it has been successful and IDF is poised to make another go at a giant ship over 2 million tons.
The opening of a new kilometer+ long drydock at the Haifa Naval Base has added to the speculation that such a ship could be under construction. IDF Officials have been quiet about the reason for this new drydock, but they have not denied the possibility of a new ship being built.
All we know now is that there has been a lot of activity at the shipyard over the last decade and we have this new drydock on satelite picture. Don't enjoy those picture for long as the drydock will likely have a roof constructed over it.
We are looking forward to seeing what rolls out of the shipyard in a few years. Stay tuned to our site for the latest rumors as we hear them.
