Shakal Empire, 15 Months Ago

The war had went well. The Shakal war machine had triumphed, granted the forces of the Ungarnes Reich were not really much to be reckoned with. Now the men were returning home. It had taken only three months to crush the enemy and wipe them from the face of the Earth. Those that surrendered were taken back to the empire to be citizens. Everywhere people cheered. The cost of Shakal blood was minimal, some thirty thousand casualties was all that the campaign cost them. Now as the soldiers returned home the somberness of the situation hit the people. They may have won the war, but the Emperor Fredrick Schraepl, had been lost to the fighting. The initial joy of the families of returning troops was quickly smashed with the reality of the situation...

At Imperial Airbase 12, Outskirts Of Shakal City 6 Days Later

The last of the Shakal forces to return home was the Luftwaffe. The aircraft covered the various ships and trucks that transported the troops home. One of the last wings to return was J23, codename, Hades. The twelve pilots had become well known as top guns each with 3 or more jet kills. One however, stood above the rest, the pilot known as Cerebrus. His full name was never disclosed to the public for both privacy and protective reasons. He flew 88 sorties and had already accumulated thirty other fighter kills and almost a hundred ground targets confirmed destroyed. His old but still more than capable F-15E had fast become a countrywide phenomenon alongside him. His squadron followed his orders with all the expected valor one would get from Shakal soldiers, but they disliked living in his shadow. His first meeting when he arrived home was the meeting with the Chief Of The Luftwaffe Colin Hall to recieve his medals. Immediatly after he was called to meet with the future Empress, although he had no idea she was to become Empress at that time...

"I still do not see why I must do this Chimera." Cerebrus said to his wingman as they were lead through the halls of the airbase. He hated politics, now he had a meeting with more boring and dull politicians.

"I know buddy." Chimera replied. He was the only one of the squad that was a real freind to Cerebrus and could be counted upon all the time. "But hey, this is what you get for being the best pilot in the Empire."

Cerebrus mumbled to himself. His light feet could be heard slowly dragging as he walked. He hated politics, and the Empire was not a good place to be if you hated politics. All it ever led to was more and more war and killings. Plus, the people were run by a two thousand year old dynasty of leaders that made sure the commoners had no say in matters.

"Cheer up." Chimera continued. "Maybe they will give you a woman or two in exchange for the medals!" It was not unheard of, in the past Shakal soldiers that had been awarded with medals could trade them for a wife, or two. In modern society this was viewed as disgusting and immoral, along with many traits the Empire continued to use. Chimera was a staunch nationalist and was the token 'die for my country' man. He would bomb a country full of old widows and sick orphans if he recieved the orders. The pair was surrounded by an honor guard, the one in front stopped at a simple wood door with a single glass pane as the window. The soldiers lines up and the door opened. Cerebrus walked forward, Chimera went to follow but was blocked by the men as they closed the door. "Aww, cmon!" He said in vain just catching a glance of the two people in the room.

Cerebrus walked into the room expecting another old weary stiff necked party member wanting his endorsement. He was instead met with a sight he didnt expect. A woman, no, a girl, no more than 17 sat in a chair in the room. She was beautiful, long brown hair, and a build that would make any man drool. Cereberus was shocked for a moment and could do nothing more than look. She wore a simple t-shirt and jeans, but she looked as if she had some authority.

"Hello." She said quietly after several seconds of him looking at her body. She smiled warmly and stood up. She walked over and held out her hand to him in polite greetings. "You must be Cerebrus." She said cheerfully.

Cerebrus regained his composure and shook the girls hand. From it he could tell she was not a stiff neck, she was like any other 17 year old, fun loving and almost care free. Her warm smile comforted him slightly. "I see you know who I am." He began. "But I think I need to know who you are, and when you turn eighteen." He said back. Whatever he wanted to do was technically perfectly legal at the moment, but it was always better to be safe.

"My name is Kristina." She said with a tiny bow of her head. "And you have a while to wait, I just turned 17 four months ago." Kristina added. This man had no idea who she was, which was fine, this way she could see him for who he really was, not what any cameras wanted him to be.

"Pleased to meet you Kristina." He said kissing her hand. Her age was slightly saddening for him. He shrugged it off. "Are you the one I am here to meet?" He asked.

"Yes." Kristina said. "But I dont want you acting like I am anyone important." She paused and smiled at him. "For all you know I could be some random prostitue out of the barracks that they put in here for you." She turned and waved hair going to sit down in a big lazy boy chair. Kristina opened an arm and pulled out a cold beer. Without any form of airconditiong the building got very hot in even moderatly low temperatures. "Want one?"

"No thanks. I dont drink." He answered taking the liberty of sitting on a well padded chair opposite her. "Why am I here?" Cerebrus asked her.

"Well, isnt that a tad obvious?" She asked. "The imperial powers of the Empire have won a great victory for both the Empire and the dynasty." She said before taking a drink of the Warsteiner.

"Ha." Cerebrus said audibly. He had little faith in the Dynasty. They struck him as a bunch of overconfident powergreedy fools. While nations all over the Earth gave way to some form of constituational monarchy the Shakal Empire remained under the total control of the Schraepl family. "Thats a good one." He said settling in. The conversation continued for almost an hour on various unimportant and everyday subjects before Kristina decided she had all she needed.

"Well, I think its almost past my bedtime." She said as the coversation finished. "I really enjoyed meeting you." She said as she left the room. The things he had said made her think. She walked out to the waiting Mercedes and sat in the back still deep in thought.

"So how did it go?" Internal Affairs minister Goebells asked her. "Did he agree?"

"Agree to what?" Kristina asked. "O, the marraige, I didnt even think to ask." She said smiling. In truth she knew about it the entire time, but her future husband was not to be a man such as Cerebrus, one that lived in fame and fortune. "Before you go on Joseph." She said to him as they drove. "I want that man watched."

"Wh-Why excellency?" Goebbels asked confused. Cerebrus was the best ace in the Empire, and this surly meant he was a loyal subject.

"Because he is a dangerous man. He has no faith in the dynasty, in me." Kristina said sadly. "I fear what he will do in the future."

Shakal South Europa Sector, Airbase 122, 0900 Modern Day...

Cerebrus climbed into his F-15E and began to ready for takeoff. The rest of J23 Hades was lining up alongside him for the sortie. The communists had taken over a small village in the area and were in nee of some reckoning. The aircraft shot into the sky in a deep V formation due south. Cerebrus sat quiet, the terrorists within the Empire had been more active since the coronation of the Empress Kristina Schraepl II. When he was there in the crowd during the coronation he had initially almost fallen over out of disbelief. These terrorists or, "Liberation Fronts" as they called themselves, were fighting tooth and nail for a democratic or at least moderatly constituational government. He didnt say a word as his squad flew. they all flew there F-22 while his now out of place F-15 kept pace. The orders were to aquire the strongpoints that had been set up and unload on them so special forces could move in and free the hostages. The murmers over his radio seemed far off and distant. He looked up finally with a new determination. He cut throttle and fell behind his squad, for a split second he went unoticed, in that second he locked on to 8 diffrent targets and fired his AIM-9 Sidewinder missles. From a range on only a few hundred meters they hit taking down most of his targets. He saw Chimera pull off quickly and heard his voice shouting over the comm. He ignore dit and used his cannon to take out another fighter before opening up the throttle and heading off to the remote island where he knew these, "Fronts" gathered. The Imperial forces would be after him in the blink of an eye. He needed a stealth plane, and he needed it now.

Shakal City, Imperial Palace 1100 Hours

"WHAT!" The Empress yelled. "You cannot be serious!" She continued. In front of her the messenger was cowering. The Empress anger had sent her vampire wings sprouting out towards him. They stopped just short of impaling him.

"I-I am sure excellency, we have witnesses and Chimera is on his way to personally brief you on the matter." He said still cowering.

"I do not want to speak with him." She said waving it off. "We must alert the SS. If he has sided with the Liberation fronts then attacks will increase." She looked at the still remaining messenger. "Why are you still here?" Kristina said. The messenger ran from the room. She began to phone all need to know personell. Any terrorist attacks would not go easily...

OOC:Anyone can get involved. Help the Democratic Terrorists if you like, or any other terrorists. I will RP as Cerebrus and other Shakal notables.
