Recently the Aperture Science Quantum Things Division (Responsible for, under the original company charter, 'sciency things') has recently achieved a breakthrough in the teleportation field, using what is typically termed as 'exact quantum teleportation' a small object, roughly one millimeter across, approximatly two meters as close to instantly as makes no difference.
This is a very exciting development.
Presently the only material it is advisable to transport via this method would be raw materials in the elemental configurations. For example, iron.
The reason for this is that the transported objects molocules are re-assembled virtually randomly on the objects re-appearance, usually turning any solid structure into an amorphorus mass of randomly assembled atoms. Experiments with living organisms have produced disasterous results.
Current estimates are that the range and total mass teleported can be doubled every three years with proper funding. However, the issue of teleporting complex objects will remain.
The other primary issue is energy consumption, which increases exponentially in relation to the object transported. Presently we are working to produce a suffecient energy source or reduce the energy requirements via some means.

We are pleased to report significant progress on the teleportation project.
By combining many simple teleportation devices into a single 'chain' we were able to move a metallic object two millimeteres in diameter five kilometers in two point three seconds.
The reason for the relativly slow time is that a certain period is required to 'cool down' between teleports. This is not long, but as the current range-limit is two meters, there is a limit to how far an object may be moved in a timely manner.
The device is still quite bulky as well, measuring a meter in diameter and is very delicate. Any disturbance of the objects various arrays will result in the object in trasit failing to re-materialize and remaining in an energy state.
However, we are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved soon. Thank you for your consideration.

If you wish, a representative may be dispatched to Aperture Science to view a small demonstration of the 'long range' version of the teleportation apperatus. It is not particularly spectacular, however.
