The Type 07 Aviso

The Type 07 Aviso was commissioned by the ADF Navy as a mulitpurpose ship that would be small enough to purchase in large quantities. It is suitable for both littoral and bluewater operations. The Type 07 is outfitted with a helicopter pad and can support a variety of helicopters for anti-submarine warfare. A versatile Westland Lynx is included in the standard export version of the Type 07. The armored box launchers on the Type 07 can launch a variety of missiles, including cruise missiles, antishipping missiles and some varieties of nuclear missiles. Quad ESSM launchers provide surface-to-air missiles for aerial protection. The Goalkeeper CIWS provides protection from any missiles or aircraft that may threaten the ship. As an added bonus, the Type 07 boasts a 76mm Bofors Cannon that allows it to assail ships in close proximity.

The Type 07 is equipped with state-of-the-art AESA phased radar for surface acquisition, as well as advanced air search radar and advanced sonar.

The Type 07 is also suitable for coast guard purposes, as it can launch rigid-hulled inflatable boats and the Lynx helicopter can assist in search and rescue.

The Type 07 is manned by 215 personnel, and has the capability to transport 100 embarked marines.

The price per unit for a Type 07 is $300 million. The Type 07 can also be exported without the included Lynx helicopter.

Domestic Production Rights are given on a nation-by-nations basis, and are given for a certain quantity of ships for 5% more per unit (approx. $315 million per unit).
