Secret Facility: Mountain Heart Port
At the base of the Emerald Mountains on the north shores of Blubland, the ocean crashed endlessly against cliffs which had weathered such abuse for ages. There were often points where the rock overhung the base of the cliffs by as much as a hundred meters, the water gouging out the mountain's base.
It was here at one such location, where an overhang approximately 150 meters tall thrust out like a massive diving board over a length of beach about eighty kilometers long, that the Blubs had choosen their greatest feat of engineering. Emerald Mountain had once been volcanic, and its center was honeycombed by tubes, "lava vents" where molten rock had carved a path.
Having discovered just such a tube under the cliffs, the Blubs had simply widened the passageway into the mountain, thus allowing the tides to carry water in and out to what was effectively a massive underground lake set in an enormous cavern. It was here at the Mountain Heart facility that CBN Blubnought had quietly sat for years. Surrounded by far more modern ships, (Many of them donated or sold to the Blubs for a discount by Questers, TSS and others) the Blubnought hadn't seen daylight for well over five years.
However, Colonial Command felt it was time to finally put it to use.
Outside
Hidden under the cliffs, massive doors slowly opened. After a moment, the bow of Blubnought poked out, and under full power, emerged. The massive guns still had their weather caps, and the various RAMs had tarps over them. Yet, there she was, off to complete some vital task of Blubland national security.
The Blubnought had a tradition of only being seen during a time of war or national crisis, and for the few fishing ships in the area that saw her, word would be spread that something was going on.
