Two months, the longest time the Worldfleet had been in one place short of berthing for repairs. And here it was, out of sheer coincidence, that they had found what they had been searching for. It had been almost a century and a half since the mass exodus began, and here they were, hundreds of thousands of light years from there point of Origin. But finally, a planet that met the specifications they needed to almost the dot. Over the last two months, they had begun construction efforts on the surface of the planet, which was still called A5L-193 VII-V. However due to the desertion of Rick Steel, they were hitting some snags that had not been foreseen. They were using supplies faster than they could be mined from the outlying moons and planets, and the manufactories were steadily slowing down. The system was a bustle of activity as mining ships flew back and forth between freighters which then flew to the Worldfleet to begin the processing of materials. Small stations had been set into orbit outside the ninth planets orbit, and even now they were being brought online, overlaying the entire system with sensor sweeps and lines of fire. At least they were defended.
The first permanent structure completed on the surface was the FTLi. Hundreds of times more massive than it's shipboard equivalent, it dropped an array of FTLi Fields over the system, ensuring that most forms were blocked. Shortly after that, the mining camps went up, boring deep into the planet in the never ending search for minerals and gasses. Living out of tent towns, the workers hurried as fast as they can to construct permanent dwellings.
On board The Unnamed, Councilman Ruhn watched all of this from his quarters. As the Head of Colonization, he had been planning for this day for most of his life. But now it was more hassle than he expected. Daily requests for more equipment and resources, both of which were in extremely short supply. The only thing he had in excess was manpower and stress. Thankfully, he had recently come across a possible answer to his problem. While scanning the archives as he found himself doing more and more, he had come across some nations that may be willing to lend a hand. Turning from his view screen, he addressed his ComPads AI.
This is addressed to the Governments of The Federal Union and Telros. My name is Councilman Alan Ruhn, and I represent the nation of Flaming Souls. While our nations have had very little contact in the past, I would like to extend this opportunity for building a lasting friendship between us. We have recently found a planet for us to colonize, and in making it our new Capital, have a lot of work ahead of us. However, in light of recent events, we have been put at a disadvantage. A sizable group have deserted us, and in their rush to do so absconded with a large portion of our supplies. We are now running short, and our demand has far exceeded our capacity to harvest from the surrounding system. We can negotiate details further if you are willing to aid us. Thank you for taking the time to listen to this, and respond at your convenience.
