Té Coloniuv áu Saar-Brittonia estavim!(Closed, Jarod's Island)

In the blue waters off of Jarod's Island, a small convoy of Imperial ships cut through the sea.

Onboard were 5,000 Kiravian men and women who had comt to begin a Kiravian colony in New Brittonia. They were diverse in themselves; Some were farmers, some merchants and some scientists. There were Coscivian Theists, Christians, and Pagans. Alone, they spoke 12 Coscivian languages, plus Welsh, Urdu, Farsi, and Gaelic. But they all had the same goal: To plant a new tree in the FOrest of the Empire, if you will. They wanted to recreate a small country based on the homeland from whence they had come.

The first ship anchoured, and 5 boats of settlers beached upon the shore. Their leader, Windhoek Scothforest, recited a speech and a short prayer, asking God to bless their new land, and then proudly planted the Imperial Star into the sand.

"By the power vested in me by the Emperor Kexarin Raincedar, and by the Soveriegn Kiravian Colonial Empire, I hereby declare into existance the Exterrasaar of Vrytonia* "

Work began immediately. THe urbanographers and other specialists brought from the Empire began supervising construction of the exterrasaar's first city, Saar-Brittonia.(Means City-Brittonia, or Brittonia City in Coscivian). Food, grain, seeds, building materials, equipment, vehicles, medicine, personal baggage, and other cargoes were unloaded from the ships and brought ashore. A few Imperials were sent out to survey the abandoned bases that were to become the exterrasaar's next two settlements. Heavy, prefabricated structures, such as storage buildings, pip segments, and trucks, were brought ashore.

By nightfall, Tents had been set up not far from where the architectural zygote that would become Saar-Brittonia stood, and the settler families were cooking Kiravian-style food; poultry, breads, creative potato dishes, over fires. Fathers sat by their campfires telling stories to their children. Lovers held each other tightly, wondering what lay ahead in this new land, and lively Ieurlev Kiravians danced to the merry tunes of the Coscivian folk fiddle.

Oops.

Well, I can't call it a settlement, becuase it was intended to have multiple small towns. Lets see,...

**pulls up Thesaurus**

Nothing quite fits the bill. However, that's when having your nation use a conlang comes in handy, I can invent a word for it. Exterrasaar, literally, it translates to "out-land city" in Coscivian. Merely a demographic concentration of Kiravians.

I know I'm writing it as if I'm taking it over as a true colony, but I'm really just following the basic 1800's idea of planting the American colony in Texas, where the colonists were really just English-Speaking Americans who lived under Mexican rule and had to become part of the Catholic Church to live there.

I'll begin replacing "colony" with Exterrasaar.

The red and white furred Govenor Ren Satō swiveled himself in his sleek, black office chair in his New London office

"Govenor Satō, there is an arrival at one of the Zones.", said his intern, Maria Martinez a slightly attracive 18 year old even though the 53 year old Kitsune govenor would not even be interested in her anyways.

"Thank you, gey my helecopter ready, as I want to visit them as soon as possible."

THe next day, Saar-Brittonia began to take shape. The foundations of the first few buildings were begun, and the modular homes were being assembled in what would become the first residential district. Saar-Brittonia was only intended to hold 1,000 people at first, and the other 4,000 settlers would be busy in the coming days converting the old military installations into new towns.

[Leader] Scotchforest sat his desk in the prefab structure that housed the administrative offices of the exterrasaar. As he was looking over a map of the Zone, as his flock had begun to call it, a message began to print from his telegraph machine.

"Sèr, té Brittonix governeruv ie voyerim t' té exterrasaar. Vú desirim t' congreim com sú."

"Sir, the Brittonian Governor is coming to the Exterrasaar. He wishes to meet with you"

Scotchforest and his officers, in full uniform, waited by th enearest helipad as they heard the whirring chopper blades in the distance.

"For the crime of treason, and considering that the defendant is a genuine detriment to the functioning of society, the defendant is hereby sentenced to be cast out and teleported to the wilderness of Exile, never to return."

The mighty craft, HMS Colony, hit the cold, white sands of the isle as Apollo's chariot was just starting to send the first rays of sunlight into the world. The overseers guided the criminals out onto the unwelcoming sands, looking at the brutal pine forests beyond.

"All right you rats, get to work! You have all day to get the capitol building completed! Don't worry, we'll hold your hands through the construction plans. Now, get to work!"

***

And so, the next weeks were ones of work, and of chain groups, division, and pain. A part of the greater strategy of Exile was to divide the prisoners into different groups, Christians and Pagans, Immigrants and Natives, force them into their preexisting divisions. Left unstopped, war would soon erupt, and be kept in check by the Forts, keeping the population low enough and the dangers high enough to make Exile a constant affair.

OOC: Kirav, may I suggest Territory? Perhaps with an adjective such as Unincorporated or Dependent?

OOC: Vontanas, there are no natives on this island, the area was used military base also everyone, the buildings are empty, you can freely live on used barraks and base housing. Also, the climate on the island is more of a Mediterranean, not the tundra seen in other colony threads. As a result, Jarod's island is considered "Brittonian Wine Country". And I hope you have no military troops

Govenor Satō's Bell 212 helicopter landed at the heliport. The kitsune stepped out. He was wearing a black suit, a small hole was cut out for his tail. He waited rather patiently for his envoy to arrive.

Can't. Dependancies and Territories are used to describe 2 types of Imperial provinces. Besides, It's NB's sovereign land, not mine, right?

"Aye. Well, firstly, Saar-Brittonia is nearing completion. Once the city walls are completed, it should be inhabitable. The walls are not for war, no, most Kiravian towns have walls. Em,..The western most base in the Zone is beign converted into a city as we speak, and there are already 1,000 Kiravians inside. Once everyone has a roof over their heads, we're going to begin research into farming, roads, and setting up Internet connections."

A vehicle transported them from the heliport to Saar-Brittonia, where the Kiravian-style buildings were being rushed in an out of by busy settlers. The first few shops were opening up, and a group of teenagers digging a sewer grate waved to the Brittonian Governor.

"G'day sèr!"

"How's it goin' ?"

Scotchforest pondered the soberity of the young men, and directed the Governor's attention to a nearby clergyman.
