News Speaker:We have just recieved news that the Nationalist rebel forces of the Mfasaland Liberation Front or MLF has captured the Mfasan capital of Mgwele and that the communist government has surrendered together with all goverment loyal forces. The city fell after two weeks of combat in which is it estimated that up to 15000 civilians has died. The Communist government lead by the People's Commisar Idi Nogani has surrendered to hours ago and he have ordered all government loyal forces to surrender immidiatly. Celebrations has erupted all over Mfasaland says Reuter and... Hold on, we just got a new telegram stating that the last forces loyal to the government has just surrendered in the Isowa Pocket to the north. This telegram states that a force of estimated 78.000 troops was surrounded in this pocket and that they have now surrendered. It seems according to this telegram that they have been without food supplies for at least a week or two and have been bombarded daily by MLF troops.
It all began 15 months ago when General Nabuto Mgali rebelled against the Communist government. The communist government has never been popular in this isolated and traditionalist country. The general secured the help of 8 divisions from the Mfasaland Army, nearly a third of the army, including the elite 1st."Lion" and 4th. "Kwatan" Armor Divisions. The rebels immidiatly secured the provinces of Matalia and Nagubi, but government troops in the Zimbawa Province did not join the rebellion and fought against the rebels. Soon an estimated 40.000 volunteers took up arms against the government in Matalia and Nagubi. The Mfasan Airforce was mainly located in Matalia Province and was quicly seized by the rebels or in most cases joined them.
From April 10th to October 22nd the Mafasaland Liberation Front launched several offensives against government troops and on October 22nd, the eastern part of Ngwaio and all of Zibawa Provinces had been liberated. These were the primary industrial areas. The Government troops put up a fierce fight in the cities of Nasaio and Ngwaio in order to hold on to the industrial areas but they eventually lost. The government tried a counteroffensive on October 15th but it failed completely and government troops fell back to East Zibawa and western Ngwaio. From November until January, the front turned to a stalemate. Several MLF offensives was repulsed by the now much more efficient and motivated, this however turned out not to be enough to stop the well motivated and from January and onwards well supplied MFL Regulars and militia now numbering nearly 150.000 while the government loyal forces had dwindled from ca. 200.000 to ca. 140.000.
On February 2nd, the last MLF offensive was launched. After several hours of heavy figthing the 2nd Corps broke through the government lines and after two days attacked Ngwaio City. General Matama Garawaio, commander of the 2nd Corps dispatched the 5th Division to take Ngwaio City andthe city fell two weeks after. Meenwhile the entire government frontlines collapsed and effective resistance seized everywhere except in the cities of Ngwaio, Cetwaio and the capital of Mgwele and the Isowa and Kamamba Pockets. In the Isowa and Kamamba there were ca. 100.000 government troops and militia. These surrendered on May 14th. Resistance in the Capital City of Mgwele came mostly from the crack People's Republican Guard and other fanatic government troops and loyal militia. On April 28th MLF Regular troops from the elite "Lion" Armor Division and infantry and militia assaulted the city. Reports from eyewitnesses the figthing in the dense urban areas where extremely hard and there were heavy casualties on both sides. Despite this MLF troops tightend the grip on the city and on May 15 the communists surrendered. Mfasaland is now an economicly ruined country, the infrastructure is shot to pieces, the people on the verge of starvation. At the same time the heavy bombardments of the cities of Mgwele, Ngwaio, Nasaio, Cetwaio and Naromia has left these with out clean and running water and the sewers are ruined and there are no electricity too.
Map showing the position at outreak of civil war and a map showing the course of the war will be added later.

The incorpareted staes of bulima would like to extended a helping hand to Mfasaland we are also sad to see the suffereing enduered ny the people at the present moment in the intrest of peace and if General Nabuto Mgali allows us to we would like to immediatly send the 10 crop of enginerrs to help restore infanstuctre and at least get the basic needs for the people up and running again. since it seems that the police presence in there is almost nonexistant and to ensure that the communist side disarms we are sending in elements of our "elite" 3rd armored divison with about 2,000 men and 51 tanks a quater of the 3rds strenght

I am speaking on the behalf of the Council of the MLF.
We have just won the civil war and toppled the communist regime. Mfasaland is finaly free but in severe troubles.
Because of the damages to the country from the war, much of the population is on the verge of starvation. Therefore the Council of the MLF asks any country that is willing, to send aid to us. We need food, medical supplies, spareparts for generators and electric plants etc and doctors and nurses. All this in large quanteties to ease the suffering og our people and to rebuild the country as soon as possible.
Also General Nabuto Ngali has announced that free democratic elections will be held within 1 year. Mfasaland asks that other nation sends observers and help with carrying through these elections. A transitional government is already being established but will be replaced with a democraticly elected one once the elections are over.
The country is severe need of forieign aid now and if the situation deteriorates the Council will prioritize the need of people higher than a election which will be prosponed but still carried through at a later date.
Joseph Nabutunaio, Deputy of Foreign Affairs of the Mfasaland Liberation Front.
The Republic congratulates you on your liberation. To help you stay that way, we send 2.500 troops to your disposal.

News Speaker: We have just recieved a telegram from our reporter Peter Brackston in the Mfasan capital of Mgwele. It states that the MLF Council with General Nabuto Ngali has declared that the official name of Mfasaland is now The Republic of Mfasaland. This name replaces the previous name The People's Socialist Republic of Mfasaland which was the name of the communist state from 1968 to 2007. It also states that when the free democratic elections are over General Nabuto Ngali will resign as Head of he Transitional Government which has taken over running the country.
Further more the food situation is deteriorating and the National Health Care and the Red Cross in Zimbawa Province has reported the first deaths from starvation. It beginning to look grim for this plaqued country. The only good news is that all communist forces are disarned and detained and the MLF are in full control of the country. The Police of Mfasaland has taken up its pre war duties and the government are working non stop on reestablishing water and electricity to the major cities. Also the Transitional Government are sendng out diplmats to the UN and other major nations to get the humanitarian aid that Mfasaland so desperately needs. The Red Cross and MLF records indicate that between 500.000 and 1 million people are dead. At least 250.000 of these are civilians. Militarely the conflic has costed at least 200.000 troops. The Communist government has lost at least 150.000 dead and wounded and another 70.000 are POW's (wounded excluded). THe MLF are repoting casualties to be ca. 87.000 dead and 120.000 wounded. We here at Pelagoria News Channel will monitor the situation closely.

The Empire announces that half of its soldiers can be used for reconstruction purposes and the other half for security at this point. The Empire would also like a report on the progress of reconstruction and an estimate of whether its current force is sufficient or too small so that it may increase the number or maintain this level so reconstruction is moved as smoothly as possible.

OOC: I've been looking for some Third World nations to exploi.., help for awhile now. I've been thinking of creating an African puppet to RP myself anyway.
I'm going to assume my nation has permission to deploy a small survey team to asses the situation before I deploy more troops.
Approaching Mgwele, Mfasaland
The C-130 transport plane banked slightly as it approached a small dirt field identified from satellite reconnaisance as a suitable landing zone. Back in the cargo hold the fifteen Special Forces A-Team sat in the clothe seats wedged in with supply pallets and three armoured Humvees. The team was here to lay the ground work for the potential arrival of additional troops to help restore and maintain order in the nation, and of course to protect Tolvanic interests as well.
The plane came in fast, making a a sudden turn to throw the aim of any RPGs or SAMs. Once the plane skidded to a halt on the hard dirt the A-Team and the planes load crew set to work moving the Hummvees and pallets out onto the strip and the plane was back airbourne in less than ten minutes.
Captain Eric Saito made sure his men and equipment were in order and then headed toward a nearby group of MLF troops and adressed them.
"Who's in charge around here?"

'' I am'' said a tall soldier.. Before he could say any more two jeeps arrived with 20 MLF troops and a couple of officers. One of the officers jumped out and walked with a couple of his men towards Captain Eric Saito. The officer, Major Nabuto Simpala stopped a just in front and saluted the foreign officer adn said: ''Captain, our arrival has not been authorized by the MLF General Staff and I must ask you to stay put and recall your plane. I have orders not to let any more foregin troops enter Mfasan territory. We already have several International Peace keeping force to assist us, but we don't need them as MFL regulars and militia are able to handle the situation. Mfasaland needs food and medical stuff, not soldiers to fight as there are no more communists to fight. There has not been fighting since the Communist forces surrendered on May 15th. I have to order you to recall our plane and leave Mfasan territory.I apologize but I have my orders." Just as he had said this 20 more MLF troops arrived in two jeeps and the soldiers dismounted.

To: the nations of the World
From: Deputy of Foreign Relations, HQ of the Mfasaland Liberation Front
Our Government have recieved much help from the outside world during our crises following our war of liberation. Much of the help is humanitarian, but much of the help also consists of military troops for rebuilding and peacekeeping. All combat has stopped and there are no threats from communist insurgents at this point. The MLF troops, militia and Mfasan police together with the international forces have the situation under control and peace has been restored to our country. So we would asks the nations who decides to help us not to send any troops as they will be denied entrance. Only enigeeners to help us rebuild the country and humanitarian aid and help workers will be allowed in.
However our people are suffering and a famine is likely to hit the country if more humanitarian aid does not arrive. Further more we would like spare parts for powerplants and generators together with parts for water treatment plants so that we can quicly get fresh and clean water and electicity restored to the cities and hospitals to prevent epidemics from spreading.

We regret to inform you that at this time, we are unable to donate any monetary or solid support to your nation, due to the civil war we are currently undergoing. We do however ask you solidify your border with our nation, for rebel Communist forces are begining to use the border as a shield from which to strike.

Response from the Iniokan Peoples Front
Brothers. We sympathize for your people during this time of strife. However we are unable to donate any sort of support at this time. The white devils who have occupied much of our country, who now name this land 'Krodesia', have stolen not only our wealth and our country, but our pride. We ask that you support us in our quest to retake our nation, to restore black majority rule, and to oust our white oppressors. Then I promise you, we shall help in any way possible.
General Izim Olono
[Krodesia was originally known as Iniok, and was run by a corrupt black Dictator. Civil war errupted, and the IPF - A left wing socialist organization - overthrew him. However before long, the white immigrant Kroandon's, facing extermination, formed their own organization, named the nation Kroando, and is fighting to take control of the country. Again, I think it would turn out really well if we bordered one another, making for some really interesting RP.]
Landing Strip Outside Mgwele, Mfasaland
Captain Saito surveyed the arriving MLF troops with obvious disdain. Saito had spent his entire adult life in the Tolvanic Army, most of that in Special Forces, and fought all over the world in hot and cold conflicts of every stripe. He was not a man to underestimate irregulars, but this rabble had yet ti impress him.
"Well Major, that might be a bit of a problem. You see our plane is running a bit low on fuel and can't land and pick up us and our gear till it refuels. But before you go running us off you should know exactly what my men and I can do. Tolvanic Special Forces do a lot more than just fight, we can train your men to a level more befitting regulars than militiamen and we can assesthe situation here and report back on just what this nation needs to get it's infrastructure back up and running. Tolvan is wealthy beyoond anything you can imagine and the help we can offer you is considerable, but that aid only comes if we stay. I suggest you realy that to your superiors and if they still want us to leave, then we leave, but we take our money and supplies elsewhere."
Meanwhile the rest of A-Team had assumed a casual defensive position around the pile of gear. They didn't expect trouble, but in their line of work you didn't live long by being careless.

Major Nabuto Simpala smilied and looked at Captain Saito; "We may look like a rabble to you. I can see your disdain in your eyes. Most of our troops here are veterans of the civil war. All belonging to the regular army's 7th Division. We have only treated you with respect until now, I ask that you do the same."
He turned and looked at his men, shouting and order Captain Saito did not understand. Two of the Mfasan soldiers saluted and walked away over to a hangar. Major Simpala again turned to Captain Saito
"We willl not harm you or your men, but I have my orders." Excuse me Major, HQ on the line "said Simpala's radio operator. Major Nabuto walked over to his radio man and answered. He described the situation to HQ. A minute later he came back to Captain Saito and said "My Commander in Chief orders me to arrange for you and your men while you are here. We will give you food and water from the base if yiu need it and shelter and beds until your plane returns"
At this moment a the two soldiers that left earlier, returned with a small wooden box. They walked up to Major Simpala. The Major said "A gift from us to you, this is the custom in our country. The Mfasan soldiers opened the box, it contained some fine cigars, some filled water bottles and some fresh fruit. "Please take this" said the Major..

Official Response from the Republic of Mfasaland.
To: Federal Republic of Krodesia
We are sad to hear that your nations too has descended into civil war. We are however unable and unwilling to give anything but moral support. Our nations is ravaged by 40 years of communism and the recent civil war. We promise that our army and the international forces will solidify the border. However we already have large portions of troops on our common border to prevent the conflict from spilling into Mfasaland. Currently we are seeing no Iniokan Peoples Front activity inside Mfasaland as there are no one who sympathises with them. When our communist regime was crushed the aid that government gave to the Iniokan Peoples Front has been stopped and the border areas are clear of any communist forces and have been since the civil war ended 2 months ago and this situation does not seem to change. We would like to stress that Mfasaland will remain neutral in this conflict.

This is Pelagoria News Channel reporting
Speaker: It is 2 1/2 months since the civil war in Mfasaland ended. Since the official surrender of the communist forces there have been no hostilities and the new army of Mfasaland, The Army of the Republic of Mfasaland, and Mfasan Police have been quite effective in keeping peace and law and order has been restored. the crime rate is falling and the MLF has been quite effective in setting up a good and functioning Transitional Government to run the country. Also all MLF regular troops have been reorganized and moved into the new army. All militia has been organized into the Mfasaland National Guard and has been stationed in the rural districts to help rebuild these areas. In Krodesia, a civil war between the government and the Iniokan Peoples Front are escalating. However British and American experts on Africa says that the conflict will not spill into Mfasaland as communism nor radical socialism enjoyes any support in the Mfasan population. Tradintionally communism nor socialism has enjoyed much puplic support in this coonservative and tradiotionalist country.
The humanitarian aid delivered to Mfasaland seems to have prevented a famine and food stocks are rising. There has not been a starvation related death in a month now and the Mfasan President, John Mawada has send thanks to the nation who have send this aid. The rebuilding effort is also going well. Most of the hospital and water treament plants in the larger cities have been reapired or will be within the end of the year. All this have caused a wave of optimism in the Mfasan population.
We have just recieved a telegram from your news correspondent in Mfasaland saying that the Transitional Government has announced that former Communist president Idi Nogani and other prominent communist government officials and party members including the former communist Commander in Chief, Mausome Kimathi, will be put to trial for War Crimes and Crimes aginst the Mfasan People. The trials will begin in April next year and the Government have promissed a fair trial and will let foreign observers observe the trial to make sure the trial ends up being fair. For two days there have been anti communist demonstrations in the capital of Mgwele were families to those executed as political enemies by the communists has made a memorial wall to comenmorate the victims.
