Rebellion in Der Teutoniker (closed thread)

Der Teutoniker
26-10-2007, 18:52
Letters spread across the continent, to the rulers of every nation, and every people imploring their help. The message states that in a week the humans that suffer under the harsh Dwarven strictness of Der Teutoniker will declare independence from the Dwarven State, and that they are seeking trade agreements, as well as any military assistance to protect their freedom, and ward off Der Teutoniker's no doubt violent reaction. Word has not yet reached the Dwarven nation as the humans scurry to erect, and prepare defenses and build ties with any nation they can to ensure their potential independence.

"General, I hope that you can have your defenses prepared in time." Ras Kataan mentioned to his chief military officer, General Rital. Ras was feeling the stress of this new-founded rebellion, and trying to establish a new nation before the first hammer struck.

"Minister, what word do you have coming from the other nations? I know that relations have been cool at best between Der Teutoniker, and Sylvonia... can we count on their aid? Whats more, will Die Fuehrerin attempt to stop Sylvonia, we know that their relations with the Dwarffolk have been considerably friendlier." First Minister Kataan asked of his foreign minister Ked Hunok.

Meanwhile each nation has to answer the question of whether to oppose the most powerful military establishment on the continent, at the risk of removing part of their power.

Note: This thread is of voluntary nature, though if you do not want to be involved please RP that to the rebel faction, and for safety sake, probably Der Teutoniker as well. If you wish to be involved, but do not wnat to get your own nations involved, someone can certainly take control of the rebels gathering as well, their specific information is yet to come.
Der Teutoniker

Rebellion Forces:

Leader: First Minister Ras Kataan

Population: ~70 Million humans

Terrain (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/brentjungclaus/rebellion.jpg?t=1193432028): Almost solely farmlands, grasslands, and low hills (yellow denotes land claimed by rebel forces)

Military:

Infantry: 3,000,000

Archers: 500,000

Halberdiers: 1,000,000

Berserks: 100,00

Human Infantry (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/brentjungclaus/humsword.jpg?t=1193432190) are well-trained soldiers who more than likely grew up as farmers. They are equipped with a longsword, and a large shield, and wearing medium armour, they are formidable defensively, and offensively.

Human Archers (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/brentjungclaus/humarch.jpg?t=1193432296) are trained with a longbow, effective at great ranges, and reasonably trained they are fast, however, only lightly armoured.

Human Halberdiers (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/brentjungclaus/humhal.jpg?t=1193432227) are very poor offensively, but heavily armed, and armoured to vastly increase their defensive capabilities, somewhat slow.

Human Berserkers (http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff60/brentjungclaus/humbers.jpg?t=1193432263) are incredibly powerful, incredibly fast mercenaries who are well-trained, and well-equipped. They wear a minimum of armour so as to impede their speed very little. They are known to fly into rages making them even more powerful with their two-handed swords on the battlefield, and their frightening helms would scare all but the most stalwart of enemies. After a rage they sink into a terrible depression that lasts for about a week, and are unable to fight effectively until that week has expired.
Novakron
27-10-2007, 06:15
An errand rider of the budding rebellion reachs Novakron's border and pleads their plight to the Beornings. From there, the message is relayed to the central government.

After some debate, it is decided that it would be unwise to involve Novakron in this uprising. There is no will to send an army on the dangerous path through the Misty Mountains, only to gain the wrath Der Teutoniker once they arrived to aid the rebels. There are also inter-racial relationships within Novakron itself to consider. The many human clans of middle-earth feel less connected to their brethren scattered acorss the map than other races; the men of Dale care little about the oppresion of such distant "cousins". The dwarves, on the other hand, feel a kinship with their kind wherever they may be, and would not take well to fighting against their own kind over a matter that seems so distant.

This decision is passed down to rebellion's messanger, and he leaves dismayed, taking the news back to those who sent him.
Sylvonia

The messenger to Sylvonia was met at the bridge by the guards. After reading the letter, the urgency of it was realized and it was quickly brought before the king who said he would consider it. Upon hearing this, the messenger was told he could stay in the guest quarters before the King decided if it was worth messing with the dwarves, who they were already on thin ice with.
