Dr. Balthazar ran down the subterranean tunnel as fast as he could. What had he unleashed? the tunnel was long, and lined with concrete. The suspended lamps threw dark shadows into the corner of the room, and a spider hid from the rush of air as the scientist passed.
The elevator shaft was up ahead. Balthazar stopped himself and hammered the 'call' button with his fist. A faint ding was heard, and then a grinding whir. Balthazar uttered a quick prayer of thanks, but the words were caught in his throat. The whirring had stopped.
"NO!" screamed the doctor. the noise shattered the silence like a stone. Aware of his mistake, Balthazar ran back down the tunnel. he flung through the metal double doors that led to the specimen room. Glass stasis tanks lined the walls. The largest had shattered, and a pool of sterilized water had collected around the base.
Balthazar ran to the emergency phone box and dialed the security code. A female voice could be heard on the other end of the line.
"You are through to security. What is your emergency?"
A long, chitinous blade pierced Balthazar's chest, creating a hideous shower of gore. With his dying breath, Balthazar hissed one word into the receiver.
"Overlord..."
The second blade decapitated the man, and his body slid down the wall. His assailant was already gone.

Sergeant Moss stepped out of the dim confines of the truck into the bright sunlight. He was forced to shield his eyes from the glare.
"Don't get used to it, Moss!" Barked a stern eyed man who had stood up from the command post. "It's underground for you. Down there." He inclined his head to a cave cut deep into the mountains he stood under.
"Briefing in 10." Then the man returned to the command post.
Moss left to the armory. His biohazard suit waited for him, the green plastic friendly and familiar in a new location. He slipped it on, neglecting the helmet for now. He took a SG-36 (http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/3759/jyh5kf4.jpg) pulse rifle and a GA16 shotgun from the weapons rack. he took a look at the clock on the wall.
"Shit!" hissed Moss. The briefing was due to start in a few minutes. He rushed out of the tent towards the command post.
OOC: Everyone else can introduce their character, and then my next post will be the breifing. So, basically, everyone writes about who their character is, and everything they do UP UNTIL they get to the breifing. Capiche?
