Can I have a location?

It's the same base I wrote about earlier. The farm with all the tunnels, and the grain elevator.

Father O'Reilly took off his frock, revealing a black assault uniform. He approached the Milites vanguard agent. "Thank goodness your here." They local Puritan forces have put most of the Catholics in holding camps and the jails are bursting. They are giving us three days to find a foreign sponsor before they start shooting us all. Of course, there are no phones or computers of access to the camps or jails so even if people could find a sponsor they are not being given the opportunity. I'll take you to the Archbishop." A panel van pulled up and the two men got in.
Centurion Marcus Horatius quietly stepped into the van with Father O'Reilly and the rest of his seven-man recon patrol, making things in the van very cramped. Luckily they had come in light: carbines and light weapons. If the Puritans found them, they would be able to put up a fight just long enough to break contact if they were lucky.

"If that is the case we'll be wanting to mount an offensive as soon as possible," Horatius replied to the priest.

He and his men had arrived half expecting to conduct rescue operations, and it seemed that that would be the case. After a moderate drive, the van finally came to a hault, and Father O'Reilly motioned for the Doomani to step out of the van.

MASJID AN-NUR

The BTR-152 and other Vodnik reached the mosque about fifteen minutes later. The mob that had once been there had long since dispersed.

"Were you followed?" Araceli asked Joshua House, the lieutenant in the BTR-152, when he jumped down from the old APC. House didn't answer, fixing his eyes on the mound of corpses on the curb, where the Tejanos had piled the dead mob members they had killed.

"What the fuck, Maduro?" he shouted quite loudly. Out of the corner of her eye, Araceli saw a Puritan woman cover her child's ears and glare at the white Tejano. Araceli couldn't help but chuckle a bit; Tejano children grew up with profanity like these kids grew up with the Bible.

"They were mobbing the mosque," Araceli said, "The GCLM and them killed 35 Muslims. If it weren't for us, it would be more."

"This is a great fucking propaganda victory for the genocists," House said, "This hasn't happened with the other peacekeepers. Do you want us to be the black sheep of this mission?"

"If that's what it takes," Araceli replied, stepping closer to House, "Get your ass in gear and load up these people."

House growled, looking at the pile of dead again.

"Clear the seats, men!" he shouted. House's peacekeepers got down from their ride, as did the men in the other Vodnik. They joined Araceli's peacekeepers, escorting Muslims out of the mosque and into one of the three vehicles. The GCLM continued with their sniping, but they were still shitty shots, and couldn't kill a one of them, although a careless soldier was hit. He was loaded up in the BTR-152 with the Muslims.

In all, 34 could be taken with the first trip. Another Tejano vehicle would be arriving to take the rest. The three vehicles left the mosque, speeding through the Domestic Sector towards the relative safety of the Foreign Sector.

The Kiravian ships sighted the Massachusetts coast on the horizon.

Blue lights flashed aboard the ships as 20,000 troops prepared to land. Vehicles were loaded, supplies were packed, and the ICU's were donned(OOC: We use digital camo sometimes, but most others we kinda have a compromise between digital and traditional designs.)

The bows of the Scotia-class assaultships opened, allowing seawater to enter the voids in their hulls. The landing vessels came forth from within.

General Kaskada Lakeforest was in charge of the units. His plan was not to attack Fort Boston, but to go around it. The Pro-Council forces in the city were already engaged fighting the other two invaders, so intercepting a few thousand men moving West would be out of their capacity. Plus, the territory that hey would land in was loyal to Standish. Although there was still bound to be resistance, the plan was liely to get his army to Council-controlled territory, from which he could place his troops in river-boats, and attack Concordia.

The landing ships were only 200 yards from the rocky beaches of Massachusetts. They pushed forward.

Meeting no fire, the invalids charged onto the shore, the Imperial flag flying in sivler and green above their heads.

OOC: I feel bad about posting my story arc now, seeing as how it might be what the Doomani terrorists want to do. I got permission from NTC to do this.

IC:
LEP Base:
The four LEP soldiers, and their 30 resistance fighters loaded into a long horse trailer. One of the resistance members, dressed in civies drove. The LEP's and Resistance were dressed as GCLM.

They drove into the outskirts of the town of Miltin, and the men got out. They were in what used to be a largely non-puritan neighborhood, which was abandoned except for the few puritans, and some brave non-puritan folk.

The GCLM would probably be on the far side of town, or further in the middle defending key structures.

A LEP officer and 10 men took position on each end of the street. The remaining two lep officers and 10 men started going door to door. One LEP would go around to the back yard with five men, the other would knock on the front door until somebody answered. Once the citizens opened the door, they would have a gun pressed to their face, and a resistance fighter would yell at them "WHERE ARE THE HERETICS!?!"

Then the back door would be kicked in, and the house searched for non-puritans. Afterwards, the inhabitants would be interrogated, asked where the heretics were hiding, and if there were any on the block. The answers were noted by the LEP (who was dressed as a sergeant, with a resistance fighter being the officer).

On the third house, the inhabitants ran for the back door, the wife of the family being hit in the face when it was kicked in. The reason for their hasty departure was that there was a Greek Orthodox cross on their mantle. The resistance fighters picked up the struggleing citizens, and took them to the horse trailer, were the were locked up. A man from each side of the street came to the middle to guard the trailer.

The did this for 10 blocks, until the trailer was filled with people. Some had religious items in their houses, others had neighbors that turned them in. Still others had merely been suspected.

On the tenth block, the trailer was full. It was driven off, and the LEP soldiers kept going. Except now they had a different mission.

They kicked down the doors of suspected non-puritans. The first house had been caught at dinner. Although the family appeared to be puritan, one of their neighbors had suspected otherwise. Once the door was kicked in, the fake-GCLM came in and ordered them against the wall. The LEP soldier who came in through the back door pulled out a pistol that had been stolen from the GCLM. It, and all the weapons carried on this operation had "fallen off a truck".

He placed the cold barrel to the head of the man of the house.

He spoke in a faultless NTC accent, "In accordance with The Official Legislation # REL9946-4, I here-by condemn you for heresy. Good day, sir." He pulled the trigger.

The men pulled the dead body and the three scared, helpless family members onto the front lawn.

The resistance fighter dressed as an officer shouted to several people who had looked outside their window to see what had caused the gunshot "This is the price of heresy!" And he shot the remaining family members.

The continued down the block, pulling out suspected non-puritans, and executing them. Some where hung from trees, and then shot by a fireing squad.

The shooting attracted a crowd, who stood at the edge of the street. Everyone who had had their door kicked down, and everyone who would have gathered to watch the brutal slayings. Then the crowd was surrounded by gunmen.

"If we are not handed 10 heretics this instant, we will gun down the entire crowd!"

The crowd screamed, and a total of ten people were pushed out.

The Ten people were lined up. 5 men, 3 women, a boy and a girl.

The LEP soldier came up to each of them, and shot them in the face. The 7th person, a woman, around 23, looked at him disdainfully.

"I am a puritan, god will see that!"

"Then you'll have no problem if I do this."

He raised the barrel to her face, and waited for her to flinch. But she didn't.

"Not afraid of death?" He brought his knee to her stomach, and pistol whipped her. "She's coming with us. The men get lonely at night."

He shot the remaining three, a man and the children, hoisted the woman over his shoulder and took her to the trailer. He grabbed a horse blanket from the truck, and threw it over her. He tied up the blanket, and threw it bodily into the truck bed.

The fake-GCLM troopers gathered around the truck, and marched south. Finally they reached their rendezvous point, and four civilian minivans picked them up. They looped around town, and headed north, until they were 10 miles from Fort Boston.

There, they disembarked, open the trailer, and lined the people up.

Everyone was sure that they would be shot. Finally, the young woman in the blanket was freed, and made to stand in the line.

The resistance fighters paced up and down the line, until finally, the one dressed as an officer said "Ten miles down this road is Fort Boston. Get the hell out of my country." The resistance fighters fired into the air, and started running towards the captives, who, startled, ran away.

They ran towards Fort Boston, even though the resistance fighters, who everyone thought were with the GCLM, stopped following them after a few meters.

Not one of them would forget the atrocities of the GCLM.

OOC: Just as a note, unless it wasn't quite clear enough, the civilians think that the LEP and resistance are GCLM, and that they are killing people randomly. NTC should be providing the civilian reactions soon.

The citizens stood in shock. Had they let the GCLM go far? Had this whole scheme gone too far? Yes they wanted to have a state of Puritans only but when faced with the persecution of their neighbors it all seemed to real. The lifeless bodies littered the ground at their feet. Some went home, other dropped to their knees and begged for forgiveness. A group of young men silently drifted off into the shadows. "Basilica this is Diocese 2, we have murders in Puncapoag. Two were Catholics."

Another group of men, this one older guided everyone away to their homes. They moved the bodies to a field outside of town. They threw the bodies into a quickly dug hole. Then they went back to the hide they had constructed in a stone wall a few hundred feet away and got their weapons. The resistance fighters were off to hunt the GCLM, and now the citizens would not interfere.

He and his men had arrived half expecting to conduct rescue operations, and it seemed that that would be the case. After a moderate drive, the van finally came to a hault, and Father O'Reilly motioned for the Doomani to step out of the van.

They stepped out of the van a block away from a cathedral. GCLM patrolled the front door, guns at the ready. "Right, so we need to get into that cathedral, I trust you boys brought some silenced weapons. The Archbishop is running the Rhodes Island resistance from the basement. The GCLM doesn't think that anyone is in the cathedral, they did not look very hard, but they have the doors all covered. The roof has a hole in it and we can climb down the eves but we will need your weapons as their is some alley jumping involved and the GCLM are in the alleys we need to jump over."

For Kirav only, Concordia is vectored off for their army, and no more invasions please. I Ignored Kirav earlier because I already can't keep track, I'm trying here people, just give TG me if I am contradicting myself.
OOC:
The Grand Council was aware of the massive foreign army movements towards Concordia. They had amassed 25,000 GCLM members to defend the base. The town had been evacuated so as not to make any unnecessary casualties, evacuated of all Puritans, every non-Puritan was shot in the head and their bodies made a formidable wall outside the east side of the base. The base itself was located in the center of the town. Like all town in TNTC the town was built around a garrison, but this one was much bigger. It was meant to house the government in an event of a nuclear strike on Fort Boston. On the surface it looked like any other garrison, a tall concrete structure with machine gun slits and a rotating cannon at the top, however underneath the ground it was a different story. There were miles of tunnels, store rooms, bunkers, situation centers, and defensive measures. It was built to withstand anything but a direct nuclear attack and had the provisions to maintain itself for four months. It also had the defensibility to *reportedly* hold off an entire Corps for a month, if manned correctly. Because it had been built before the town all of this information was known to no one accept its permanent maintenance staff. When it was not in use there were only three guards posted at its one and only entrance.
But this was war and there were 25,000 GCLM either in the base or in Concordia, The base only had provisions and space for 500 soldiers, but their were 1,500 living in it at this point. They had commandeered most of the houses in the town and had set up defensive positions. Any invading force would have to fight for every inch of territory in this town. Despite their great numbers these men were not well armed. Only the men in the base were armed with automatic rifles, but the explosives store was raided and everything that went boom was taken out of the base and made into and IED and setup throughout town. The men on the outside of the base were armed mostly with their weapons from civilian life, pistols, revolvers, hunting rifles, semi-automatic versions of military weapons, and shotguns. Even though they were not trained soldiers at all the GCLA (Grand Council Loyalist Army), numbering fifty and used as a personal bodyguard, had taught them camouflage and they were quite adept at it. Their instincts as hunters kicked in and they would hold contests to see who was the best at creating hides and primitive ghilllie-suits. When ever and where ever the enemy came these men felt confident enough that they would crush the infidels before they even got close to the base.

IC:

Horatius removed a sound suppressor from one of the many pouches on his vest and affixed it to the muzzle of his DR-87; the rest of his carbine and rifle-equipped men did the same, with only the automatic rifleman being left out. Attempting to affix a suppressor to a machinegun was not seen as a terribly good idea by Doomani SF personnel.

"It would have been helpful if you'd have told us this before we got here, Father," Horatius said somewhat irritatedly.

Popping his head out the van, he scanned the area, sighting the enemy patrol.

"Your first mistake: planting your HQ in the basement of a fucking cathedral. They're garunteed to have patrols around something, like that, father. You people had better be ready to relocate."

Quietly, the seven-man recon team slipped out of the van, dashing into an abandoned building across the street. Luckily, most of the buildings in the immediate area were vacant due to the rounding up of the local Catholics. That meant they would be able to move freely about the buildings without having to worry about local civilians giving away their position.

Quickly climbing to the roof of that building, they moved up to the edge near the alley. Glancing at his wrist-mounted PDA display which gave my a God's eye view of the area courtesy of a geo syncrounous satellite, he picked out the locations of the GCLM personnel. Finding a small patrol in the alley below, Horatius quietly cursed to himself. They'd all have to go at once, lest the sound of them going one at a time attract attention from below.

Just had to pick a fucking cathedral as their headquarters...

Backing up in a row, the men crouched and prepared to sprint and jump across to the other side.

"If you can't keep up, stay here," he whispered to Father O'Reilly as he signalled for his men to prepare to jump across.

Throwing his arm forward, they all started to sprint: simultaneously they lept from the roof, hitting the adjacent roof at virtually the same time and rolling.

"What the fuck was that?" they heard a voice call from down in the alley.

Shit.

"Keep moving," whispered Horatius.

Once again the men took to their feet. The cathedral was right there; they'd need to keep ahead of the men they'd just alerted in order to leave the GCLM troops in a state of confusion. Hopefully they wouldn't decide to inspect the cathedral.

Again they sprinted, leaping across the open alley into the roof of the cathedral. Silently, Horatius motioned for his sniper and anti-tank man to take up an overwatch position in the bell tower. All seven of the Doomani plus the priest slid down the hatch into the cathedral...

With the rest of the scout teams that had been deployed to the island now having secured the perspective basing areas, ACI-20 Bovis heavy transports began lifting off of the decks of the freighters. Aboard these transports were all the materials and weapons necessary to establish hidden rural bases from which they could conduct guerilla operations. Everything from food to tents to anti-aircraft guns were being brought in; the bases would be fully operational within a day provided things went smoothely.

The Kiravians lay in wait while they readied for the attack on Concordia.

A sentry came into General Lakeforest's office with a rain-soaked Methodist behind him. He handed the general several pages of ideogrphic writing, supplemented with a few hand-drawn diagrams.

"Sir, this here's David Fawkes. He's a Methodist who knows about Concordia. He was smart enough to get the hell out before they started shooting people. He gave us some information.

"Sèr Fawkes," the General replied, "Thank you and welcome. We will have some tea brought for you. What have you to tell us?"

He detailed what he knew about troop numbers, defences, supplies, fortifications, and other concerns.

"They outnumber you, o' course, by 5,000. But they've only got enough to feed five-hundred. You're better armed as well, with these, erm...KE rifles or what have you, and likely to be better trained than most, although they've got themselves a few elite fighters."

"Seems favourable, yet it will still be a challenge. You have only spoken fo teh defences of the garrison. What of the town?"

"The town? why would the town have defences? What do you mean?"

"Walls, bunkers, to prevent raiders and criminals from entering the town."

"Umm.. no sir."

No walls? , Lakeforest thought, The smallest hamlets back in the Empire have some form of wall! This could be a critical flaw! .

"Then that's it! If we can overtake the town, however difficult that shall prove to be, we can use the buildings as barricades and shields. Thus, we'll be pretty safe from the garrison's artillery, albeit incompletely, and we can wait until they run out of food.", suggested an officer excitedly.

"Brilliant!" the General remarked, "What if they don't surrender thoguh? These Puritan types can be pretty stubborn."

"Then we just need to keep them trapped until we can get reinforcements and extra artillery from the nearest colony and storm the citadel."

"Gentlemen, let this war begin."

The 20,000 Kiravians marched towards Concordia.

Roaming elements of the GCLM engaged the Kiravian army but did not slow its advance. Their only effect was to warn the Concordian garrison that they were coming. The men braced for attack.

A giant fleet slowed to a halt 50 miles off the NTC coastline. A message was sent out to the GC telling them to give themselves up or they would be invaded by an international forces numbering in the hundreds of thousands. A television and radio broadcast was released telling all citizens to disarm, and asking all peacekeepers to return to the Foreign Sector or the IDP camp.

Just so everyone knows I will be taking over the Alfegos forces from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon so when I start posting as them it is not as if I am just usurping control.

The cadets quickly decoded the message and began preparations. They had only been able to push out about ten miles from the Academy and resistance was getting more stiff as they moved. "Ok people, we have an official telegram from Supreme Elect Myles Standish-" Marshal Gardner was cut off by a jubilant cheer from the assembled cadets. "Yes he is alive and well, and he needs our help. In only a few hours the GC will make a statement as to whether or not they will give up control of our government and hand it back over to Standish. If they say no then we will begin a new and hard push towards Fort Boston, as that is where the center of their support is. As you know Kiravian forces are already at the threshold of Concordia, and this telegram speaks of a multi-national invasion force on the ready." Another cheer. "Tonight I want all of you to sleep well. We are in a clear pocket right now so the faculty and I will keep watch while you rest up. Fall out."

The GCLM in Concordia heard the Kiravian army before they saw it. It was raining fairly hard and the dirt off of the roads was turning to soup. They were comforted by this fact. This way they would only have to stop the tanks traveling down the road, and after blowing one up could slow the others significantly.

The Kiravian troops approached the "wall" of desecrated corpses outside of Concordia. They had been attacked along the way by a contingent of GC fighters, but the well-armed and well-armoured Kiravians overcame them with minimal losses. However, any hope of a suprise attack was gone, and the Kiraivans could see defenderslaying in wait behind the wall of death, ready to defend their city.

Tha Army of the Empire waited for their opponent to make the first move.

Scared of what my marines would do when they got there?

OOC: no, it hadn't crossed my mind. But with a multinational force of a couple hundred fighting a pithy militia that's under equipped, I would hope that we could defeat them in a mere week. If not, then the people of Yanitaria have much worse things to worry about.

In any case, I suppose your marines will garrison the towns loyal to Standish, or taken by the invasion force. In that case will you also be conducting road patrol on the rout from the front lines to the nearest captured towns? That would certainly free up more Yanitarian Marines to push forward and cordon off Fort Boston, if it takes more than a week to get there.

Sea, near The New True Cross

The 1st Airborne "Eagle" division was one of the most well trained divisions in the Drvarskan army with soldiers seeing action in two conflicts. The division is made up of 20,000 men who have been trained in all forms of combat. Colonel Fyodorovich Kazankin is the commander of the division and he will be going in with the first wave of troops.

Two large groups of C-17 Globemaster IIIs filled the sky, each group carrying 10,000 men towards the nation of The New True Cross. Group A has been given orders to drop 10,000 men in Forts Meeshawn, Succonesset, Sakonnet, Swansee, and Rohobith (2,000 men each). Group B was ordered to drop 10,000 men South and North-west of Fort Massechusetts where they will secure the area for the marines to attack.

Colonel Kazankin sat in the back of his C-17 clutching onto his XM-8, he looked around at the 100 soldiers who he was to jump with onto Fort Meeshawn along with 1,900 others. He kept thinking to himself his orders over and over again to make sure he knew them off by heart. "Hold until releived.. Hold until releived.." he thought.

"Excellent," said the Emperor. "Any information on the Doomani?"

"I know they're up to something, of course, but do not have any proof of what they're up to. We're here rumors of things happening in a different section of TNTC, but I need men on the ground to see," said the spymaster.

The Risbani ships moved in to begin enforcing their blockade of the coast. The submarines were split between guarding the flank of the fleet and patrolling for blockade runners. A third fleet was on the way to join the present fleet, consisting of one more supercarrier, three battleships, six frigates, and ten more submarines-- in case the Risbanians needed to expand the blockade to cover more of the coast.

The Vice Admiral stood on deck of the Command Supercruiser, hands folded behind his back as he looked out at the bay, Imperial ships filling the sea. Forces from the pro-Standish Coalition were departing from the Risbani ships, moving to assault the coast as, above head, Drvarskan forces flew in.

"Sir, we have Grand Council forces in range," said an officer.

"Hold fire for now," said the admiral. "Focus guns on any coastal defences that the Grand Council might have. We don't want men dying before they can even land."

"Aye, sir."

"Scramble some fighters to assist in escorting Drvarskan invaders," ordered the admiral.

Minutes later fighter jets were already scrambling from the aircraft carriers.

The transports had now withdran from the dockside, the Alfegos regiment left entirely alone. They had trapped and barricaded the area 250 metres around the dockside, and had received their orders quickly:

"Hold until the allied forces reach here. Then we give them hell."

They were ready for their assualt. They just hoped they wouldn't be too seriously frightened by the attack.

------------------------

At sea, amongst the Risbani ships, the Alfegos ships were falling back to the mainland. What was left were 5 Osprey-class Carriers, and a President Class Superacrrier.

Onboard, the Harriers were readied for attack, armed with ground attack weapons: they had been told that they would not have any enemy birds to contend with.

-------------------------

The engines were silent on the two consul-class air cruisers floating into the bay, high above the Risbani fleets. The winds had been favourable, the tailwind allowing them to use their airbrakes as sails, thus saving much of their compressed hydrogen fuel.

In the cockpits, the guns were readied, and the systems checked for weaknesses. The pressure was then slowly decreased as the airships descended below the cloud layer, their payload doors opening as they readied for the bombardment on Fort Boston.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the rest of the scout teams that had been deployed to the island now having secured the perspective basing areas, ACI-20 Bovis heavy transports began lifting off of the decks of the freighters. Aboard these transports were all the materials and weapons necessary to establish hidden rural bases from which they could conduct guerilla operations. Everything from food to tents to anti-aircraft guns were being brought in; the bases would be fully operational within a day provided things went smoothely.

O'Reilly suprised his Doomingsland counterparts. He had made it across with ease like the rest of them. (I am assuming you think that he is a fat old man, his is old, but quite wiry and limber) "Ok, the militia will be on that roof in a minute we had better go." They ran to the hole in the roof, easily disguised with a tarp. The priest opened a corner and they all jumped down into the eves. It was only a crawlspace and they had a tough time with all of their gear but they soon reached a vent which swung open and two gun barrels emerged. "Quid est nomen tibi?"
"It's Father O'Reilly I've brought the members of the Doomingsland vanguard to meet the Archbishop."
"Hello Father, let me help you down." The team emerged on a stairwell leading up to the bell tower and down to the apse. "Your recon forces can go right up these stairs to the bell tower, and the rest of you follow me. I am Father McDonald and this is Bishop O'Hara. We are so glad you could come." The men followed the Bishop down into the apse. At the bottom of the stairs he reached behind a giant crucifix and a panel in the wall opened. "We had it installed during the reign on the last Supreme Elect who wasn't as tolerant as Standish. You never can tell when you will need these things." They walked down the narrow spiral stairwell. The men noticed the gun ports at random in the walls. When they reached the bottom of the long staircase a large metal door was opened and another Bishop ushered them in. A few more twistings and turns later they were shown into a small command center. "Greetings my brothers of the faith." A tall and elegant man said turning from a console. "I am Arch Bishop FitzGibbons of the Fort Boson Archdiocese. Welcome to our humble home." The Doomingsland men looked around at the shottily constructed command room, wires and cables everywhere running a muck on the floor. The consoles were on folding tables and the computers looked to be at least ten years old. "So, I assume you come bearing news of the intentions of your government to aide us in this most desperate hour."

Horatius replied in his native Latin to the Archbishop,

"Unfortunately, to my knowledge, the Imperium is a bit tied up right now with other...interests; however, as you can see by our presence, Manus Dei has not turned a blind eye, though we are one hundred percent certain the Imperium will send a vast army once our cause has made headway," he slipped his PDA from his wrist mount and punched in a command, handing it to the archbishop.

"As you can see, we have thousands of men landing on the island as we speak right under the noses of the heretical Puritans," he spat the last two words out in disdain, "And we have brought with us all the necessary personnel and equipment to replenish your forces..."

"What forces do you command, if you do not mind my asking, Your Excellency?"

Bell Tower

Milites C. Lucianicus Costa and P. Laelius Caecus had taken up a rather comfortable position in the belltower. Lucianicus had propped his Pilum rocket propelled grenade up against one of the corners of the tower, his DR-87 slung over his shoulder, and stared through a pair of binoculars at the roof they had just come from. A squad of ragtag militiamen armed with a plethora of small arms had emptied and fanned out, looking in confusion for what had made the racket.

Laelius was ever so tempted to drive a 6.7mm round through the skull one particular the Puritan who stood taller than the others, but stayed his trigger finger. His DR-83ML rifle's bipod was propped up on the window cill of the tower and he stared calmly through the scope, watching the irrate facial expression of the one he wanted to kill. The pad of his trigger finger remained over the trigger; he could easily have snuffed the man's life out and the GCLM men would have had no idea where the shot had come from thanks to the rather large suppressor affixed to the end of his rifle. Of course, there weren't many places for a sniper to hide that he could actively annihilate infantry units while they were on rooftop; they'd be drawn to the cathedral within minutes, and so he held his fire as instructed.

Lucianicus, however, continued to scan the neighborhood with his binoculars; he'd be the first to know if the GCLM thought something was afoot.

OOC: Not to be a stickler but sniper protocol strictly forbids setting up your rifle with any part of it hanging out of a window, off a balcony, or anywhere that it would be exposed. And since the bipod is about a third of the way down the rifle, that third would be out in the open and easily detectable from any angle other than straight on.

As the Kiravians pushed into the city streets of Concordia they were attacked from all sides at all levels. Men with guns came out of windows, doors, or rooftops anf fired into the streams of the first Kiravian soldiers. IEDs littered through out the streets killed both the Kiravians and the GCLM who had forgotten where they were in their panic. The inner city was getting heavily shelled and the barrage came closer and closer to the Kiravian troops, clearing out blocks at a time.

'We have, on Rhodes Island, some 15,000 Catholics willing to take up arms, and that number is growing. Some of them are from the IDP camp outside of Fort Boston, they are being smuggled out and brought here. Most are ill trained, but since Standish recently desegregated the military some of the younger ones, maybe 300, have some basic military training. None of them have weapons, most would have to be taught how to use them, but I am assuming that will not be too hard. After all, once you take the safety off for them all they have to do is pull the trigger." He smiled, quite pleased by his own wit.

The Grand Imperium of Risban's Imperial Ministry for Intelligence had successfully gained control of the mass communications in the New True Cross shortly after the invasion by the Pro-Standish Coalition began. Since then they had been broadcasting images of Standish and his supporters, but now the Emperor of Risban had decided to send a message to the people of the New True Cross.

Sitting behind his large, dark desk in the Office of the Emperor, the Imperial Standard behind him, Emperor Scorpius addressed the war-torn nation.

"People of the New True Cross, today a terrible war grips your nation, destroying home and country as the noble forces of Elect Standish fight to restore peace, justice, and order against the vile, corrupt, and cruel Grand Council. And with Standish and his supporters stand legions of powerful nations whose goal is order as well. This coalition will not stop until Standish is reinstated and the Grand Council brought to justice.

I beseech you, oh devout people of the New True Cross, to see through whatever lies and deceit that the Grand Council has fed you and embrace justice and order. I likewise offer you this ultimatum: support the true leader of the New True Cross, Standish, and live in peace... Or, continue to serve that wicked junta called the Grand Council, and pay a price that you will regret for generations.

A mere fraction of the Risban Imperial Navy sits off of the eastern coast of your nation while the forces of many other countries land on your shores. With a simple order from myself, more ships will fill your seas until all that can be seen from your coastline is the Risbani Standard, the forces of Standish and the Yanitarian Coalition raining down upon your beaches to destroy the Grand Council and liberate the New True Cross from their evil.

Support us in this liberation, or continue to fight against the true leader of the New True Cross and suffer the consequences.

I hope you choose wisely.

Imperium et Libertas."

The image of the Risbani Emperor vanished from the screens across the New True Cross, a blackness now filling the televisions with the simple sound of waves crashing. Five minutes later, more pro-Standish propaganda began.

Risban Imperial Blockade
Massachusetts Bay

"Go-ahead from Standish received," announced an officer.

The Risbani Vice-Admiral smiled cooly, his hands still folded calmly behind his back. The Imperial Navy had not had a bit of this type of fun in a while. It was good target practice for the younger officers. "Fire at will, commanders," he announced over the communications channels between the ships.

The missiles and artillery of the Risban Imperial Navy slowly came to life, missiles and rockets firing down upon the Massachusetts Bay coast, strategically aiming for and hitting defences established by the Grand Council. Known Grand Council bases around the coastal forts were targeted, cruise missiles flying at them.

"Shall we deploy fighters and bombers, sir?"

The Vice-Admiral thought for a moment, stroking his chin as he debated bringing out the Bishops and Knights in the little chess match so early. Sometimes it was best to start strong and shock the enemy into submission.

"I want the Lightnings, Falcons, Eagles, and Lancers scrambled. Send them in a little deeper past the coast and make them hit approaching Grand Council forces and Grand Council advance camps," said the vice-admiral, still thinking. "Deploy the Apaches, Hawks, and Kings to help escort the invading forces to the coast and secure our take-over of the Massachusetts Bay."

"Aye-aye, sire!"

The sky soon began to fill with the aircraft of the Imperial Navy, joining the rest of the Yanitarian Summit Coalition in their assault.

High in orbit over head the Chaplain gives one last universal blessing and climbs into his capsule. Though the majority of his troops were agnostic, none had ever protested a small additional bit of divine intervention.

The thud chunk of capsule after capsule being fired toward the planet below sounds pulse like in the ears of every CAP trooper. Fortunately there was no member of the 'Kills that had been down checked. They were all going, jumping to live and die as the One they had over years of training become.

The vast ships in high orbit had laid down a pattern of empty capsules that were designed to act as distractions, chaff, sesnor spoofers and anti anti CAP fire.

Seconds before that their great guns had sounded, driving pillars of doom, in the form of MAC rods, also known as God's Fingers, earthward. Striking at speed of c fractionals the rods left super heated trails behind them that provided extra cover for the following CAP troops. Charleston- the port city that New Salem lay inland and north of of - had anything that might be a control or command center targeted, as did New Salem itself.

The ground shook at the impacts, tremmors that caused buildings to dance and sway. Yes, there would be civilian casualities, but given the pin point precission of the MAC strikes they would be small. And the sight of fingers of fire reaching down from the heavens would do more damage psychologically than any sign from hell might.

The Capsules of a CAP drop were designed to fall in a evasive pattern, veering and jinking to avoid any sort of lidar, radar and other sensor pinpointeing and to break apart in an irregular pattern that too added to the protective antics.

Less that fifteen minutes after being in near lunar orbit, the first troops out were landing, their antigrav 'chutes' deposting them silently and softly on the ground. On the western arc of New Salem...while New Salem's eyes were hopefully turned eastward and the eye dazzling show of the Rods.

The Colonel paused a second and smiled as the last of the MAC rods flashed down "Done, and that should have taken out anything in the way of a communications, command, control, or cyber central unit that Charleston and Free Salem have. My people are beginning the south eastern-ward sweep now. I'll let you know when we have enough of the area under control that you can come in a safe manner. Though if you want a little landing action, the more the merrier I always say. Over"

The Colonel was a well trained and combat experienced officer in her mid late fifties, but with the advent of Prolong it was as if she were still in her thirties biologically. She activated her servos and lept to the top of a near by building, noting the stiff small arms resistance that her troops were meeting. Not that the rounds would penetrate CAP armor, but she wanted to move quickly, and this would slow things down.

"Major Let me get back to you in five I'll have a better feel for things then I believe. Over" She radioed back to the Yanitarian major.

"Yanitarian Embassy to Stoklomolvi embassy, we can send 3 fully loaded CV-90s. ETA five minutes."

As promised, the CV 90's were dispatched, and cordoned off the street leading to the embassy.

OOC: How about a sit-rep. What exactly do you need us to do?

Aboard a Risbani Ship

The Major received the radio message, and pressed the button on his ear piece.

"We'll let you clear a path for now. Save some body bags for us, will you? Out."

Major Alfsson sighed. He was a combat veteran, serving from 2005 until now, in every conflict Yanitaria has entered. He cocked his FN2000 and ordered his troops to get ready.

The missile racks of the airships lay slightly angled, ready for their bombardment. The signal came, and jets of flame and smoke filled the sky as tens of missiles flew outwards towards pre-designated areas, either showering them with cluster warheads or producing a massive shockwave as their heavier warheads detonated.
At the same time, the two gunners in the foreward gondola let the city have it with the repetitive chattering of the guns, firing vivid purple tracer through the sky, ending in an explosion on the other end as the HE rounds detonated.

On the ground, the troops had taken defensive position, while the mortar carriers and few mortar teams began to bombard the enemy positions.

From the carriers, a first wave of 100 planes launched, hurled off the deck into the sky, ready for the death on the other end.

OOC:I know this, but I was assuming there'd be enough of a ledge on the inner part of the window to allow for him to do this...not to mention with this rifle the bipod is pretty close to the muzzle.

"That's a good start. Now, I'm going to need you to have your men link up with our forces on the island. Our men will be able to start training them, and by the Grace of God, we'll have a fully operational crusader army on this island before long," his face was utterly serious, yet his voice enthusiastic,

"However, as Father O'Reilly told me before, the GCLM is planning to execute those of our brothers and sisters they have within the camps. This cannot be allowed to happen, and as such I need all intellegence you have on these camps so that a raid may be initiated as soon as humanly possible."

If there was any such thing as an average CAP trooper, Marcus Warfield Mik'nooses was it. For his Stick he was the exact average in height, his skill assessments placed him in dead center, as did his looks, family background and mariatal status ( six person group marriage, 4 kids, median age 35...)

What wasn't average and the reason we're going to follow him though this little killdozer of an operation is due to his luck, or rather lack their of. And anyone who doesn't think that luck plays a part is dead wrong. Fortuantely Marc won't die, though he might wish he had - Embarrasement is harder to get rid of than death. Tanaaran KNOW they are coming back...

But that as may be...

Marc landed handily, the rest of his Stick within sight - a good thing, sometimes the evasion programs sent them so wide it took the GPS beacons and a few anxious hours of scouring terrain to meet up. Now one had any accidents to report wother remembering, sace that Johansson went part way through a disentegrating roof - apparently the locals didn't build with CAP troop armor weight in mind. Hell there didn't seem to be any fortifications at all anyways. And Johansson had pulled his leg free without a second though, only mentioning the collapse in passing, for laugh. Though most didn't bother to laugh. He could see in his minds eye their sharks grins easily though.

"Okay then lets bounce boys and girls Sarge aint gonna wait on us nonw. Does any one have a direct visual on the resup caps?" The resupply capsules fell differently that those carrying livestock, as the tadpoles like to call themselves. He groaned when no one addmitted to mark oneing the location of the ammo and heavy support weapons, though every one was able to bring up their bleep bleeps and knew, map wise where the munitions were.

Marc just happened to be the closest to those bleeping transponders so every one would converge on him, as per standard ops.

"Oh 'er Marc old buddy old pal that might take a few These people aren't understanding of what just landed in their backyards. They are being down right inhopitable, even if they aren't doing any damamge, they are making it slwo going." Marc could hear the cracck of ammo other than Tanaaran being fired, and spalling harmlessly off Tanaaran CAP aarmor.

"Okay slog your way in I'll head o'er to the bleep bleep's and start uncratging them. Maybe taking down..." Ah you beat me to the puch" He commented as one of the members of his stick leveled a building with a FAE off of her shoulder launcher.

"Teehee, you be careful of those. You're too damned fond of them!" Some oen warned as they landed away from the explosion.

"Oh you're just as slow off a roof as you are in the sack, Froggy" Came a sweet young voice back"

Their cheerful banter hid the dead seriousness of the muddle they found themselves in. The GCLM was making a stand in a street to street, door to door action that was every troopers nightmare, especially when they really, really hated causing civilain casualities...

The two groups of C-17s were now over their drop zone, the soldiers began to prepare to jump as they stood up and hooked up. The red light was turned on and they began to make their way towards the door and wait. Slowly the soldiers waited and then the light turned green and they started to jump out the door one by one.

Slowly Group A began to their descent onto Forts Meeshawn, Succonesset, Sakonnet, Swansee, and Rohobith. Colonel Kazankin leaped from the door into the air and was thrusted back from the opening of his parachute. He gazed around at the sight below him and the mass amount of paratroopers that surrounded him, he clutched onto his XM-8 and slowly approached the earth.

Group B began to drop paras 10 minutes later south and north-west, it was divided equally with 5,000 jumping south and 5,000 jumping north-west. Major Yirov was put in charge of group B and he leaped into the air and slowly descended south with his men.

A message was sent to Myles Standish and allied forces:

TO: Supreme elect. Myles Standish & Allied forces
FROM: Drvarska High Command

We have released our paratroopers into combat and they are now currently in process of capturing forts and securing areas around Fort Massechusetts.

IC:

Most of the Kiravians were not skilled in urban combat. So what did they do?

Buildings were the problem. Buildings=Snipers, hiding places. Thus, they started taking down the buildings.

Grenades, bombs, and mortars were hurled at the structures in the city. The Kiravians fell back a tad, to regroup and wait for the portion of the city in fromt of them to be shelled out.

Meanwhile, another detatchment, including one of the Fordockian auxilliaries, breached another side of the city.

OCC: Another player not into the RPing aspect. They have the same flag because I made it for them. Before the Sultanate came into the region it was just me and two of my close friends, and they don't RP sorry.

As the buildings collapsed around them and the IEDs began to explode due to the shock the few how could still stand fell back into the heart of the city. Some picked up the much more effective Kiravian firearms as they did so and this time they jumped into reinforced foxholes to protect themselves from the barrage. The 15,000 remaining men again braced for assault.

"The camps are located on the north of the island, there or three of them outside of Jesuton, and one more outside of Smithfield. They were all built on the same principle, 1000ftx2000ft, barbed wire fences, no latrines, no shelter. They are not allowed to talk and if they do, those nearest the fence are sprayed with pepper spray. There is no way to get away from the fences as there is standing room only in most of them. I suggest that we set up a base in Warwik to train, due to the lack of GCLM presence. They practically forgot about it when they swept down from the mainland."

The GCLM baulked at these "demons". Never before had they seen anything like it. Their firepower did nothing against the armor of these monoliths of doom. Many scattered as the fighting intensified, as those who stood their ground were demolished. Those who ran made every house a fortress, and every fortress fell. Finally an army officer loyal the GC brought some anti-tank rockets, and a recoilless rifle with a fresh troop of men who had been protecting the harbor. The rockets screamed towards the steel monsters.

The decimated forts soon swarmed with soldiers running from underground bunkers. They had been tipped off about the attacks by someone on the inside. They fought with a ferocious neglect for their own lives, but soon Meeshawn and Rohobith had fallen. Those still holding back the invasion at Succonesset, Sakonnet, and Swansee poured rounds towards the Drvarskans. They knew it was hopeless, but the thought of finding salvation in the pools of blood of the enemy whipped them into a frenzy.

"Gentlemen, this is the beginning of a new era. This invasion marks an age were justice will be supreme and God will rain plague down on those who are not adherent. These men of the Grand Council, and their pitiful warriors will soon find that if they are not avenged by death, then the highest courts in TNTC will see to it that they are held responsible for their unforgivable actions!"

Forts Meeshawn, Succonesset, Sakonnet, Swansee, and Rohobith

The soldiers landed on the ground and immediatly gun fire broke out, some how they knew that the Drvarskans were coming..

The soldiers at forts Meeshawn and Rohobith fought savagely at the GCLM soldiers, after a heavy firefight the two forts were captured and the Drvarskans suffered few casualties. Colonel Kazankin ordered his troops to start making a defence perimeter around the captured forts. Colonel Kazankin jumped into Fort Rohobith and fought hard along side his men and after the battle the tired men now began to build up defence around the fort making use of the Fort's standing bunkers and sand bags that were scattered everywhere.

The fighting still continued at Forts Succonesset, Sakonnet and Swansee. The men pushed forward shooting down GCLM forces but at the same time receiving some casualties. The hard training the paratroopers had done payed off as they knew exactly what to do in their situation and took up covering positions behind walls and using cover tactics to allow their men to advance.

Casualties:
567 Soldiers killed
233 Soldiers wounded

Remaining:
9,200 Soldiers

Fort Massechusetts (South & North-West)

The paratroopers jumped into the open fields and farmlands around Fort Massechusetts taking the GCLM by suprise. They immediatly gathered their weapons and began to clear the area to allow landings of troops.

Major Yirov hit the ground in an open field and quickly took off his parachute and pulling out his XM-8 assault rifle. He ran towards the edge of the field along with a group of soldiers and opened fire upon a group of GCLM on patrol.

"Apparently the GeeCeee idiots forgot the hind end. Fried some of his own troops...we expended the rest. The children were in a unbunkered building in the back blast radius. We got the fire out but we need..."

"Boss," Marc Mik'nooses's voice was wobbly from the pain meds his suit had pumped into him. " I know we can't call down an evac for a time. I'm not going anywhere, let me watch the kids.."

Colonel Esther Abgrams might have ben a warrior, but she was also a mother "Okay Nose, ..Listen Up" The order crackled over the commos. "Casualties gather in on the Nose, find away to mark it as a safety zone and every one look sharp, I don't want to lose any one else to a smart Gee Cee Idiot"

The patrol was taken completely by surprise. They fell under the withering fire of the Drvarskan paras. More were alerted by the gun fire and a minor firefight ensued. Soon a 25 mile radius was cleared around Fort Massachusetts. The designated troops could begin to move forward.

At the forts still standing the day could not be won so easily. Soon larger support weapons began to pour down on the Drvarskans as their positions became temporarily stagnant. Fort Swansee's soldiers ran out of ammunition and began to pour out of the gates in a rage yielding knives, rifle butts, and any other large bludgeoning or bladed object they could find. The Drvarskans were taken by surprise and a few were maimed by the fledgling attacks but the enemy was soon subdued. Succonesset and Sakonnet held strong. Artillery began to cripple the advance of the paras, but their training saved many lives...not all but many. Those who fell gave life to their comrades as they pushed forwards through the fire and brimstone.

The sight of these "demons" falling greatly encouraged the GCLM men but they soon ran out of rockets. The recoilless rifle was bunkered behind a pile of rubble and then moved after the first five shots. Only two hit the "demons" but they were still effective. The second location saw the total destruction of the gun and the crew by enraged "demons". "Alfegos"
The waves of Alfegos' jets had laid waste to the forts, but someone had tipped the soldiers off and despite the decimation the soldiers were largely unaffected. The jets continued to provide air support over the forts but as the Drvarskan paras got closer and closer the bombings stopped for safety issues. The bombing of New Salem had been delayed due to a miscommunication of orders. Finally they reached their target. "All Yanitarian Coalition forces evacuate city limits, repeat all Yantarian Coalition forces evacuate city limits, this is bomber task force 113 and we are inbound."

Note to Tanaara, might want to communicate with the pilots as to whether or not you want to have them carpet bomb Salem or it you want to laser designate targets.
Note to Kirav, there are two missile air cruisers at your disposal if you want them in your attack on Concordia. They are giant airships with a lot of firepower.

The Alfegos marines received orders to push into the city and designate targets for the artillery of the military installation and the Risban navy to destroy in the city. They quickly moved through the streets meeting heavier resistance as they got farther into the city. Their grenadiers proved to be the most effective as they pushed deep into the city center.

"Very well, Your Excellency," Horatius responded, "I'll forward this to my superiors. I suspect Warwik will be in our hands relatively soon," he nodded to his radioman to begin compiling a burst transmission.

"Our forces in the immediate vicinity of Warwik may need local help, so it would be much appreciated if you could contact your assets there. A swift and brutal victory over the Puritans in that town may be exactly what we need to boost the morale of your men..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Horatius and his men would remain with the Archbishop in his headquarters for the duration of the insurgency; they'd been assigned as the Order's liason with the local command structure, and would continue to work alongside the Archbishop, both feeding him intellegence and giving the intellegence he brought them to their superiors.

Elsewhere on the island, Manus Dei was establishing its command encampment out in the middle of the woods. Magister Capitulus M. Avitus Macer, head of Manus Dei's elite Necropolis Chapter, had assumed command of the Rhodes Island Crusade, as it was being called, bringing with him his best forces, while being supplemented by troops from other chapters.

The camp was extremely well-hidden amidst the forest; camoflaged 15.7mm and 37mm anti-aircraft guns were also concealed in strategic locations throughout the area, ensuring that if the GCLM or anyone else decided to bring in aircraft for a quick raid they wouldn't be able to get off scot free. Already improvised hangars for helicopters had been constructed, and a foward arming and refueling point established. This would not be a training camp; rather, it would serve as Manus Dei's regional headquarters until a more permenant one could be established.

And as of the moment, Warwik appeared to be the perfect candidate. With a relatively small GCLM presence, wresting control of the city from them would be of little difficulty to the highly trained Milites Frateris. Already teams of Milites were begining to scout the outskirts of the town. Should they find the oppurtunity to take a GCLM patrol by surprise, they would certainly do so.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

C. Ambrosius Aquilinus and his team had, over the past few hours or so, scouted a good portion of Warwik's outer perimeter, and had found it extremely lightly guarded. There were at least two hundred Milites scouring the countryside around Warwik at that very moment, operating in seven-man recon teams. Aquilinus had just settled his men down near an important strategic crossroad leading out of the town, positioning his seven man team in nearby brush to conceal their position, looking from a bend in the road all the way down.

They'd been instructed to ambush any targets of opputunity that came down the road; thus far they'd seen no such targets. However, local Catholic scouts had reported to another team that a small GCLM convoy of three or so trucks was due to be heading their way within a few minutes. Planning ahead of time, Aquilinus had his demolition man plant ten pounds of ONC explosive in the narrow road with a remote fuse.

He'd placed several men, including his automatic rifleman, in the outer bend itself so that they could fire straight down the road, with the rest of his team in positions along the side of the road, setting up the classic L-shaped ambush. When the convoy came down the road, things would get to be very nasty...

A GCLM convoy moved down the narrow wooded road. The reinforced pickup truck with an old M-60 mounted on a pivot in the bed led the convoy. The pickup behind held 10 men, they were cramped but they were happy not to be walking. The last truck was a minivan. The windows had been painted black but the rattle of loose ammunition and supply crates gave away its contents. The van lagged behind the trucks as its suspension slowly navigated the rocky surface.

OOC: Up to you which one you want to blow.

Ambrosius studied the approaching convoy; he'd keep his charge in reserve in case the Puritans had an ace up their sleeve, for now it looked like this convoy would be easy pickings. The squad's automatic rifleman had already sighted in the lead technical, with the Spiculum recoilless weapon-armed anti-tank man targetting the troop carrier. The ammo carrier would be assaulted as needed.

"You may commence fire," whispered Ambrosius to his machinegunner.

Armed with his special forces-issue 4M5 light machinegun, he let off a long, vicious burst of 7.8mm ammunition, targetting the cab of the lead truck. The heavy, fast-moving 7.8mm slugs would be more than enough to not only tear through the driver and passenger, but continue through the back of the truck and kill the gunner in a ferocious hail of lead and splintered steel.

A shark shriek further down the road signalled the recoilless gun firing; a split second later the bed of the second pickup errupted in a massive ball of fire as it was struck by a 105mm thermobaric round. There was little else that need be done; the marksman fired a single round into the driver's compartment of the van, aiming for a head shot of the man at the wheel, while a rifleman fired a few bursts into the engine block to put the vehicle to a hault.

It had literally taken just one second for the entire series of events to unfold: quietly a pair of riflemen would approach whatever was left of the convoy after a few seconds had passed, carefully moving to see if anything was left alive. They had their fingers crossed that there was at least one wounded Puritan in decent condition, although an unharmed one would be better. As of that moment, Manus Dei needed a prisoner to have a nice chat with regarding Warwik's garrison.

Special attention was paid to the van: another rifleman prepared to approach the rear door, while the grenadier had his SAGL's cylanders loaded with three 40mm buckshot rounds in case there happened to be anything alive that wanted to put up a fight...

John Stone looked down at his legs. Only one was there and it did not look good. He screamed for his savior to rescue him from the pain, but the only response he got was a squad of camouflaged men bandaging his leg and the stump where his right one used to be and then throwing him on a litter and carrying him off, drugged of course so he would stop screaming.

The bombing of New Salem had been delayed due to a miscommunication of orders. Finally they reached their target. "All Yanitarian Coalition forces evacuate city limits, repeat all Yantarian Coalition forces evacuate city limits, this is bomber task force 113 and we are inbound."

Negative, Bomber Task Force oner oner three - I repeat, do not commence a bombing run. Do NOT bomb New Salem or I WILL have your guts for garters Colonel Esther Abrams thundered into her mike. There was no reason to either carpet bomb or even laser designate bombs on New Salem. And she had proof positive that there were non combatants about.

Nose would never live down the holo pic taken of him by an embedded newsie. It showed his near legless torso being sat upon and surrounded by children. Dirty, tear streaked -but now smiling, faces as they tried to play patty cake with the hulking Tanaaran Drop Trooper who himself wore a big smile.

Once the pilots responded she advised them that if they really felt they had to unload, to drop their loads over Charleston, the port that both the Yanitarian Marine Corps and the Sumguaian Royal Guard would need to land at.

She then contacted both Major Karl Alfsson, Yanitarian Marine Corps and General John Stevens, Sumguaian Royal Guard.

"General, Major, my apologies for this taking so long, but once the port of Charleston is bombed you all should make your landings in relative ease. Neither New Salem, or it's port city of Charleston have any fortifications as now doubt you've noticed. What they have had are down right fanatical troops fighting house to house actions that have tied up far more of my troops than I like. I've ordered Charleston bombed instead of New Salem. Once the bombing run is complete, come ashore with all speed. There are still nooks and crannies of hold- outs but they shouldn't be a problem"

Esther sat back and waited for a reply. The recoilless rifle the enemy had scared up had brought her fatalities to a four count. The GCers had done themselves no favors however. Once there were no planes in the air she was going to call down one last Rod, a precission stike where the enemy had gone to ground, the city center.

Forts Succonesset, Sakonnet and Swansee

The paras at Fort Swansee watched as the soldiers ran out of the fort with swords and bayonets in hand. Two paras got into position with their RPK-74s and fired a hail of gun fire at the GCLM soldiers while others watched them fall one by one. A few soldiers were unlucky enough to have been caught by surprise as two GCLM soldiers jumped off a wall with bayonets which they were soon gunned down after they knifed the paras. Once done the paras stormed the fort gunning down GCLM as they got into their path.

At Forts Succonesset and Sakonnet the paras were in for a big fight as the artillery began to rain down onto their position. At Fort Sakonnet the paras were taking casualties - they had no choice but to advance, and advance they did. Equipping their bayonets to the end of their XM-8s they charged forwards towards the fort yelling like madmen, it would look like a scene from stalingrad as the russians charged in mass waves towards the germans. At Fort Succonesset they had some cover to shelter the wounded from the artillery but many soldiers began to take casualties. An order sent out for a company of 100 men to move out and take out the artillery, looking at the map and the direction of the sounds they moved out quickly running but at the same time using tactics. The men at Fort Succonesset held fast.

Off the Shore of NTC:

Major Alfsson boarded a ship with his men headed for Fort Mass. With communication as tenuous as it was, he felt it pragmatic to go along. Also, he didn't like the thought of sending men to die while he sat on a ship by himself.

Two large LHD's set sail, one going south, the other heading straight ahead. After an hour they were both where they needed to be, and the bombing let up.

Marines on the Free Salem ship, all members of the 8th YMC Regiment had watched the fireworks show on Charleston. They would soon land, at the same time that Maj. Alfsson and the 5th YMC Mechanized Infantry Division.

The 8th would land before the Royal guard, and move down several corridors until they reached the outskirts of town. They would then spread out, turn around, and clear the area behind them while the Royal guard unloaded and approached them.

The 5th MID, on the other hand, would assemble, and move towards Braintrey, surrounding the town, and moving in slowly, calling on air support and bombardment until they reached the town square, where they would order the remaining forces to drop their weapons and surrender.

The 8th launched their BMP-3's, and amphibious transports. Things were about to get rough.

The airship barrage continued as the meachnised infantry pushed forward. They were all armed with FIBUA equipment, and put it to good use in the urban environment.

Enemy strongholds were breached with mousehole charges stuck to the wall, sprung-loaded ladders were used to scale taller buildings, and traps were put to good effect.

All the time, the airship floated above, letting the occasional missile fly towards an enemy stronghold.

Braintrey:
The 5th MID surrounded the town as planned. As off shore bombardment took buildings down ten at a time. The fighting was intense, as marines fought and died in people's living rooms, sometimes as the residents watched.

Major Alfsson personally led the charge into a factory that would be his command post.

A marine planted a sachel charge, and blew the gate wide open. Alfsson was second inside, firing accurately at the poorly trained militia, who would, more often than not only hit a marine on accident.

After clearing a hall, he rested on a door. Suddenly he was thrown into the wall. The door had exploded, sending splinters off, and impaling one man.

Karl could feel the fracture. From his bag, he took out a syringe and stuck it in himself to relieve the pain.

A navy corpsman ran up to him, ordering to men to carry him out to the IFV. Meanwhile, a squad of Marines pushed the militia on all sides, until they had nothing but the manufacturing floor.

The floor was bare except for machinery, a few hasty fortifications, a few heavy machine guns, and a small room that was a mystery to the assembled marines. The GCLM had fortified the area right in front of it, and while the marines had taken the scaffolding, the entrenched militia was dangerous enough to call a stalemate.

Then there was a bang from the mystery room. Yellow and brown water leaked out from under the door, and suddenly everyone in the building could smell raw sewage.

The door opened, and civilians with Steyr AUG's, and with red resistance arm bands burst out. They quickly overtook the rebels, and waved for the marines to come down.

A quick chat confirmed that they were with a resistance movement based around Puncapoag (ooc: Hope I spelled that right).

Major Karl Alfsson personally greeted them, before asking about the resistance movement. After a lengthy discussion, he ordered a steel plate to be welded to what used to be a bathroom floor to keep the smell out, and for his command post to be set up.

IC:
The church erupted in flames as the windows blew out. Flaming bodies ran out of the door before they dropped to the ground, their blood boiled beyond controllable levels. The church had been used as an ammo cache, and the GCLM, looking to garner support against these foreign armies, knew that many civilians would get killed in this attack. A group of civilians, having witnessed the attack charged the peace keepers. They stopped right in front of them and formed a human wall. A song began to resonate first from one voice then from the whole crowd. They sang hymns of oppression and of struggle. They refused to budge. Other civilians from the area heard them and soon a crowd of 200 had gathered and were singing their Puritan hymns and standing in the way of the peace keepers.

From what their informant had revealed, there were vast subterranean chambers below the fortress, and detailed plans would have to be made.

The Vice-Admiral's blue eyes gazed out at the coastline of the New True Cross, the Pro-Standish Forces overriding the enemy. He glanced to his right; a wall of Risbani warships stretched as far as he could see. He glanced to his left, surveying a mirror image of that on his right. While the battle was taken place on land, those warships not bombarding the Grand Council forces had taken to capturing any ships that came within their range, whether they be merchant, civil, or military--unless, of course, they had been granted clearance by the Yanitarian Summit. The Risbanians would take control of the ships, obtain whatever was valuable on board, then imprison the crews until it was safe to drop them off on the coast. The Imperial Navy would then either decide to keep the captured ships and return them to Risban or to destroy them. Such was the penalty for attempting to get through the blockade.

The blockade had grown and now covered the Cape Cod Bay as well, surrounding the waters around Fort Meeshawn. More Risbani warships had been ordered to the area, taking pleasure in being able to use this as a nice little training exercise for fresher navymen.

"Sir, Kirav have sent in their terms of surrender to the Grand Council," announced the ranking intelligence officer on deck. "They are demanding a complete cessation of hostilities, a surrender of control to Standish, and the cessation of some land to Kirav."

The vice-admiral frowned some, instantly categorizing the Kiravian Empire in the list of nations regarded as immature and insolent imperialists. Honestly, he thought, conquering land when the goal of the mission was to liberate. Not that the Risbanians cared, though. The capital city of the Grand Imperium, cleverly named Risban City, was almost as large as the entire nation that they were invading. A small swathe of land would be able to serve as no more than a mere military outpost for the Imperium, which they hardly wanted here. This was just a training exercise, in their minds, with a few minor benefits from raiding ships that traveled too close to the blockade.

"Very well. Cease bombardments of Grand Council installations until they respond to the terms," ordered the Vice-Admiral.

Hearing of the GC in Concordia being under seige by Kirav, the Colonel sent a message to General Ironfield of the Kiravian North America Division

General, We have a trio of spare MAC rods that we can deposit atop the fortifications that the Grand Council has bunkered down in. They have substancially better penetrating power than any MOAB. Plese advise if they are needed..

We thank you immensely. THis will certainly aid in our planned storming of the fortifications.

You have the deep gratitude of the Empire. We will remember this in the future.

The resistance finally crumbled. The 5,000 remaining GCLM began to reveal themselves, unarmed and with their hands over their heads. Concordia was successfully taken, and the landings could begin. The Taanarans could begin their move south towards Charleston and the Fort Boston Cordon.
Standish got the message and sent out a call to the Free Salem Marine Force "You are clear to land, repeat you are clear to land."

General Stevens smiled as he received the mesage from Standish, and waves of Sumguaian landing craft began heading for the shore immediately, moving as quickly as possible and wasting no time in the of unloading their passengers. Several hours later, The entirety of the Royal Guard were on land, and the force began to head inland through New Salem.

To The Sumguaian Forces:

YMC Marines 30 minutes from reaching edge of city. Once we reach the outer edges, we will quickly turn around and head back through the city. We'll meet you in the center. Good luck.

Edge of Free Salem:
The Yanitarian Marines took major buildings on the edge of town, and started the charge backwards. Near the coast, Sumguaian forces approached, and the Yanitarian Marines wanted to meet them in the center.

The way back was much tougher. Going to the edge, they avoided troop concentrations, and only participated in light skirmishes.

Eventually Marines engaged a heavily defended bunker, which refused to be toppled by conventional rocket launchers.

Even an air strike which dropped 2 cruise missiles only left a huge whole. Troops inside seemed to still be alive, and pouring lead out of firing ports.

Finally a UH-60 blackhawk paradropped several marines on top of the building.

With a quick frag and smoke combination, the marines jumped inside the hole, and secured a small room.

From here, they took the next, larger, room. But they could not move any farther, as a machine gun shot one marine to hell as he entered the hallway.

More marines were sent in, including a man with a captured RPG-7. He cleared the doorway, and a man helped him steady it outside so only their hands showed. Before the machine gun could actually hit the RPG, they fired it. The rocket flew down the hall, striking the gunner in the arm, knocking him down. However the round was a dud, and did not explode.

Still, it gave the marines enough time to suppress the table barricade, and take the hallway.

From there they entered the main gun nest, quickly dispatching the hastily alerted opposing force, and only losing three marines to the 20 or so men they took out.

Finally, the barreled down a hallway, and checked the last room. They saw it was the ammo room, but it was almost bare.

A marine entered, and was blown up by an IED. The rouge device ignited the ammo, and two shells, the fire one pushing the other outside where it blew up 5 marines as they tried to run away.

Miltin:

The 5th MID started towards Miltin, surrounding it. Unlike Braintrey, the city was heavily fortified on the street level, and clearing it out would take several days.

Residents on the outskirts reported that GCLM had come in a week earlier, rounding up suspected heretics, and once their trailers were filled, executed the rest.

Maj. Alfsson was appalled. What kind of government would kill people like that. And even worse, he was told that a girl was taken for the soldiers. This told him two things. First of all, they were raping innocent civilians, and second, they took the other civilians for another reason.

Their readiness to kill was mystifying. They obviously had no problem killing even theists, now. The locals testified that they seemed to think it was funny.

But then why would they take the others alive? There must be a camp somewhere near the area.

In his report, he included the relevant information, sans his speculation.

Official Report to Yanitarian Summit Forces:

Reports from Yanitarian Marines operating near Miltin have spoken to locals, previously loyal to the Grand Council. Recorded testimonies are still pending, but it seems that GCLM forces have kidnapped several families of Non-Puritans. According to civilian witnesses, once the transport vehicle, a large horse trailer, had been filled, the GCLM started executing prisoners on the spot, and took one female who defied them as a "personal" prisoner.

Please take note of this, for use in future negotiations and public service announcements.

When a Risbani officer handed Standish the surrender terms, he balked. He crumpled up the paper and threw it on the floor, "Bastards!" he bellowed. "Do they think they can just come in here and carve chunks out of my homeland. I hope the Grand Council crushes their skulls! They barge in under the pretense of defensive maneuvers and then spring their imperialist plot when they have a show of force. This heresy cannot be tolerated. I will talk to this General Ironfield myself and if I cannot talk some sense into him, then help me God I will bring down forces that would make the devil tremble!" With that he requested the Risbani Vice-Admiral loan him a helicopter and a flight crew.

Sometime later, John found himself suspended in midair. Just how he'd gotten there he did not quite remember; looking up he saw that his hands were tied and he was hanging from a tree. Looking down, he saw the missing leg. Then he remembered.

"He's awake," someone said in Latin behind him.

"Good," another voice replied to the first. This second voice sounded vicious, almost as if spoken by a lion. He heard footsteps behind him and struggled to free himself.

A tall, well-built man in Doomani-style BDUs stepped out in front of him. His head was shaven and he had a neatly trimmed beard; a pair of aviator sunglasses hid his eyes from the Puritan, the end of a scar coming out from beneath the sunglasses near his right eye. He smoked a cigarette, blowing smoke in John's direction.

"The GCLM doesn't have much support in Warwik, does it my friend?" he said in English, a Doomani accent clearly showing through his words.

He smirked predatorialy, walking to a nearby camo netting shelter beneath which was a table, some ten feet away from John. A tarp covered the table. He gracefully slid it off without disturbing the objects beneath: a wide array of sinister looking knives, saws, electric drills, even a blowtorch. Sitting on the table was what seemed to be a leather tool belt, which he grabbed and strapped on. Flicking away his spent cigarette butt, he picked up an electric drill and what appeared to be a rubber mallet.

Slapping the battery into the base of the drill, he squeezed the trigger: it whirred and buzzed satisfactorily. He nodded his head in approval and turned towards the prisoner, tucking the mallet in one of the belt loops. He casually strode towards the man, siezing his one remaining leg.

"I am very curious as to the GCLM's command structure in the immediate area...tell me, who is your commander?"

Vice-Admiral Lord Hadrian Filius understood Standish's anger quite well. Any nation would be upset if people posing as their friends attempted to carve up their land.

"You will be given six Black Hawks and three Apaches to escort you wherever you need to go, Mr. Standish," said the Risbani Vice-Admiral. "If Your Excellency cannot get the Kiravians to withdraw their imperialist demands, the Grand Imperium can try to pressure them to stick to the mission."

And all the Grand Imperium would offer is some pressure. They were in no mood to enter what would be a much more real war over a slice of foreign land smaller than the Imperial Palace Complex in Risban.

From: Lord Sumguy

My good sir, I realize that the Kiravian Empire seeks and is in need of constantly more land to meet the needs of it's people, but I urge you not to pursue your nation's colonial interests in The New True Cross. This is neither the time or place for the expansion of the Kiravian Empire.

As you may know, the Abrahamic League is a very powerful force in my nation, possibly even more powerful than myself, and 85% of the Sumguaian Royal Guard are AL members. The league is very opposed to any imperial actions, and i cannot guarantee that my troops within the New True Cross will not forcefully oppose attempts by the Kiravian Empire to expand into the New True Cross.

So I beseech you to abandon your demand for land, for it will not be accepted by either the GCLM or Miles Standish, and no good will come of it.

To all concerned Nations:

We are reasonable colonialists, and will not pursue any further expansion in the New True Cross to create a Kiravian North America. Thus, we hereby withdraw the demand for territory, and all other terms unrelated to the cessation of the genocide and the return of Sèr Standish to power.

We would also like to clarify that we are not, if you will, blatant, exploition imperialists. We set up settler colonies, with greatest respect to native peoples, although we typically colonize uninhabited land. If we are ill-recieved, we leave. It is not our desire to enslave, nor to crush and assimilate cultures from existance. Nor is it our desire to "educate" or "civilize" as European imperial powers deemed their colonialist quests.

All being said, we remove the clause. We apologize for the offence that is has caused, and hope that it will not stain relations with the world in the future. Additionally, we expressly apologize to the rightful government and normal citizens of the New True Cross. Our primary, and now only intention, and ever only reason for our engagement in this war, was, and is, to cease this genocide. We beg their highest pardon, if such an act can be forgiven.

The soldiers had now fortified the building they were in: sandbags, metal plates and barbed wire was much in evidence, along with the occasional MF93 protruding from windows, with their vehicles parked and locked in concealed alleyways behind them.

Inside, they were waiting: either for the signal that the enemy were attacking, or that allies had encircled the city, and were ready for the final assault.

OOC: Kirav, just to let you know MAC rods, aka God Rods, Fingers of Doom are not missiles but are space based kinnetic weapons
tungsten rods, each up to 20 feet in length and 1 foot in diameter. These rods, which could be dropped on a target with as little as 15 minutes notice, would enter the Earth's atmosphere at a speed of 36,000 feet per second--about as fast as a meteor. Upon impact, the rod would be capable of producing all the effects of an earth-penetrating nuclear weapon, without any of the radioactive fallout. This type of weapon relies on kinetic energy, rather than high-explosives, to generate destructive force
Bolding mine and the ones I use are bigger than the ones described above. The surface area of the fort would have been destroyed under the impact of the first one - the second two did in the sub ground areas. I seriously doubt that any of the defenders are in any state to defend, and the death count is very high. Litterally the earth did do a shake rattle and roll upon the impacts.

OOC:

*Beats noob upside the head* Think before speaking young man!

Energy density of "godrod" ranges between 2 times and theoretical maximum of 8 times TNT, with typical number of 4-4.5 times TNT, corresponding to 6km/s reentry velocity.
In other words, it's about 2.5-3 times better than pure modern explosive, or 4 times better than conventional bomb, per ton of weight. It's not to mention that "godrod" doesn't really work as high explosive, and only deals damage through the material it touches. In military terms it is similar to lacking brisance. Specifically, it doesn't actually explode with gases, only throws material around. It's essentially throwing rocks into the ground, and, in both cases, most energy just goes into the ground.

That's for about $10 million per ton delivery cost.

So a 50 million dollar "godrod" would probably destroy a building, not even a block. If it hits a street, it will blow a crater there, break windows around, shake somewhat, that's all - inherent AP capability doesn't favor city destruction.

Godrods fail, and so do the billions of mindless noobs who say "0mg i g0dr0d j00, ur n4shun is t3d d34d"

John clenched his teeth. The pain was searing but he know this was a test from God. When the drill bit came out the other side of his leg he bit down and his teeth began to crack. He would never give up, these heathens probably did not even believe in God. Just as his ancestors in England, John knew he had to endure the suffering. At that point this teeth shattered and the jagged calcium blades slashed into his gums. Blood began to choke him. He spat the blood out, into the soldiers eye.

A warning siren wailed in the main gondola as the snesors detected the missile homing in on the airship. The gunners rushed to the countermeasure board, furiously prepping the laser blinders. Too late they realised the batteries had not been charged for over an hour on the dormant engines.

The missile hit the underside halfway down, exploding as it impacted with the kevlar outerskin. The shockwave blew the cell and its adjacent cells open, releasing a mix of hydrogen and helium into the air, the hydrogen kept uncombusted by the helium mixed around it. The entire airship lurched temporarily, before slowly settling back down to its original state. Luckily, the missile had only been a small AA missile, and though casued a buoancy loss of near a tonne was insignificant compared to the 11000 tonnes of lifting power on the airship itself.

An engineer made sure the altitude was safe, before taking a breath from an oxygen cylinder and exiting the gondola through the roof pressure chamber. He had a few minutes before he would start feeling decompression sickness, but would have enough time at least to check the internal structure in the blast area.

He walked quickly along the central plastic walkway past the glider and missile bay, surrounded by hundreds of grey cells, with the plastic/metal structure showing at intervals where the main supports and overhead bulkheads were. Soon he was near the blast site. He quickly checked the surrounding area, before climbing down a ladder to the lower inspection level. Here, he was now walking with the land below him, the occasional shudder passing through him as the missiles fired behind him. Here he could see the ragged bits of kevlar fabric flapping in the wind, with the distinct smell of aged lifting gas mix flowing past him. He quickly looked past the blackened kevlar inside, and counted off the damaged cells around it. Once he had assessed there was no damage to one of the structure rods next to the damaged area, he walked back to the ladder, and climbed up back into the calm inside, waiting for the smoke to clear from a launched missile, then entered the pressure chamber again, recompressing and re-entering the gondola.

"Not too bad. But next time, we are gonna have the laser dazzlers ready. We are going to charge the battery every quarter hour now for a minute, so that doesn't happen again. And just in case, arm the decoy flares."

"Good thinking. Now we'll get back to keeping an eye out for more of these attackers."

The Doomani torturer smiled as the blood spattered against his sunglasses and crudely tore the drill from the hole in John's leg, tucking it in his holster. He slid the rubber mallet from its place on his tool belt. By now the shin bone had begun to splinter from the drill hole. The Miles ever so lightly began tapping on the ruined shin with his rubber mallet; the pain inflicted on the shattered bone would be horrendous to say the very least, but perhaps most importantly he'd be able to inflict this sort of agony almost indefinately...

Andric Stonefield, the Kiravian that had thrown the grenade into the tunnel, called his compainions forward. It as honourologically questionable, throwing a grenade upon those who could not move, but it was neccessary.

The 4th platoon was the first into the tunnels. They came to a corner, where they readied their weapons and waited for the sound of footsteps.

The defenders, numbering only 321 hunkered down and waited for the Kiravians to come down into the catacombs. One unlucky soldier, having been disoriented from the explosions wandered into the Kiravian breaking team. He only got off one shot that went wide before he was tackled by four Kiravian soldiers. He fought hard but soon he was subdued.

"Another inbound! Are the batteries any better in shape than they were before?"

"No sir, but she should hold."

Meanwhile, the co-pilot was watching footage replay.

"We've got him sir. Missile?"

"Go ahead"

A missile streaked out of the bombbay towards the enemy position, as the missile coming at the airship impacted further along the flank. This time, the explosion and shock were accompanied by a screech, followed by a crash as part of the lower maintenance walkway collasped, flying downwards towards the ground. Another lot of lifting gas had just been lost. The airship still stayed firm, but how long till they started using some of the real airship killers against them? The kevlar armour could really only stop bullets up to .50 cal, and that was streching it.

"Should I go and make another check?"

"No, not until we can be sure there are no more attacks. If you had been on that walkway..."

"Thank you very much," responded the torturer, his same twisted smirk permenantly frozen on his face.

He tucked the mallet back in his belt.

"Cut him down," he called to unseen others, who cut the rope that held John in midair.

He dropped, hitting the ground with a thud and landing on his shattered shin bone, completely destroying his lower leg on impact. The screaming appeared to please the interrogator, who produced the drill from his belt and walked over to the agonizing man, who writhed helplessly on the ground, his hands still bound in front of him. He took a knee next to John and whispered into his ear,

"I release your soul from your weak and pitiful body," he said grimly, his smile seeming to soften as he pressed the drill bit between John's eyes.

He squeezed the trigger once more; the screaming was abruptly cut off as the drill tore through John's skull, spattering blood, gore, and grey matter onto the interrogator as it entered the brain. For several seconds the drill continued in, making a nasty mess of John's brain, and blood began to gush from his ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. When the body finally went limp, the Manus Dei man carefully layed it down and slid the drill back out.

"Excellent work, Ahala," growled a voice.

One of the men who had been watching the interrogation from behind John stepped forward. Flavius Ahala, the torturer, bowed his head to the local Manus Dei commander, Magister Annalis. Annalis was short by Doomani standards, standing at five-foot ten; he was, however, stocky and powerful. His black hair cut short, he appeared to have not shaven in the past few days. He too bore his fair share of scars, most notably on his lower lip.

"That was all we needed to know. We can commence our attack at once. I want this...Elect Timms...alive. He shall face trial for heresy," he boomed ferociously.

Outskirts of Warwik

The Manus Dei fighters had taken up concealed positions outside of the town; they outnumbered the local GCLM forces by a fairly large margin and had the element of surprise. They continued to monitor the streets, now aware of the full strength of Warwik's garrison. They would make sure to find the location of every GCLM fighter before going in, as well as the location of Elect Timms' headquarters. Once these things had been ascertained, they would commence their assault...

Miltin:
YMC forces had spent three whole days taking inches of the town. Slowly, they had taken all but a Km squared area surrounded the town center.

Rockets blazed from artillery miles away, and PzH 2000's bombarded the positions. Planes raked the exposed areas with bullets, and overhead, snipers took down men like they were targets on the range.

Still, a sizable bunker force remained. CV-90's and BMP-3's choked the corridors to the area, and resistance fighters volunteered to detonate bombs in the sewer systems, clogging the GCLM toilets.

Marines kept their eyes on the windows of surrounding buildings. One corporal was about to lead a charge into a large government building.

He, and 10 marines rode in a CV-90 with a bulldozer attachment and shortened barrel. They placed charges on the wall, which exploded, and weakened it, then the CV-90 roared as it hurtled not only through the wall, but through another one as well.

Quickly, the marines ran inside, ending the misery of one man who had been trapped under the IFV treads.

Two marines threw a smoke grenade and a frag down one hallway while a corporal and private, weilding an MG4 and F2000 with an underslung grenade launcher watched the other corridor.

The Smoke popped, and the frag bounced of a wall, and down the hall. Once it exploded the marines heard a few screams.

Bounding forward, two lance corporals, a private, and a sergeant took the corner. Suddenly, there was a deafening crack, so loud that marines on the outskirts of town could hear it.

Where the entire building have been, there was now rubble. Although noone could see it, two LEP soldiers skulked away, losing themselves in the shadows before reemerging as two average Yanitarian marines.

The fighting stopped, and the marines held their ground. Three Electronic Warfare configured CV-90's approached, jamming all signals except those used by the YMC. Maj. Alfsson ordered radio silence.

The EW CV-90's were equipped with loudspeakers.

Maj Alfsson addressed the GCLM soldiers still fighting.

"The United Socialist States of Yanitaria orders all outlaws operating under the banner of the Grand Council to surrender now! We know that you commited acts of genocide on the outskirts of the city, and have rigged buildings with possible civilian presence to blow. If you do not surrender this instant, we will shell your building directly, storm them, and all prisoners will be tortured and executed as war criminals. If you surrender now, your saftey will be guaranteed."

OOC: The Yanitarian Spec Ops blew the building, so the GCLM will probably be a little confused.

In other news, my comp is busted, and I am currently writing from the college. I dunno when my comp will be fixed, but hopefully by this saturday/friday. I'll finish off Miltin when the GCLM decides one whether or not they want to be tried as war criminals.

They aimed in the general area of the collapsed building while the co-pilot looked at the infared footage live.

The miniguns began chattering, filling the cockpit with noise and ejected casings, filling up a sandbag stuck on the ejection ports. Timm's was busy at the town hall, his temporary command post, his 30 men were running around answering radio messages from the mainland. The GCLM was collapsing everywhere. A report came back, "Miltin has fallen, repeat Miltin has surrendered." Concordia was the only big city left, and then there was some smaller towns, but the grand vision the Grand Council had promised was falling apart in less then a month. Security seemed to be of no importance, they figured they were so far removed from the fighting that they were safe.

The men stayed down while the occasional explosion rocked their position. Soon though there was silence, the massive airship floating above them awesomely. The occasional small arms fire was dispatched by a quick burst from an assault rifle or by a thrown grenade: the rebels should have known that the kevlar skin of the airship would prevent any rounds from cutting a hole in it: otherwise, it would be shot down as soon as someone got a machinegun.

The Yanitarian Marine Corps was in trouble

They had just disarmed 40,000 men, who were now assembled, naked except for their trousers and socks, in the town square.

"What the hell are we suppose to do with 40,000 men, when we've only got 65,000 ourselves!?!" Maj. Alfsson screamed at his staff. He sighed, and said to his captain "Alright... Get me 5,000 of my reserves, Captain. They will be the guard. The other 5,000 are to land after them and replenish our numbers. I'm putting you in command of the prison unit. I want you to take the enlisted men, and put them to work building their prison camp. Order 20,000 field tents, and some prefab quonset huts for our men. Take the enemy officers and interrogate them. Appoint one of them the representative of the prisoners, and hold him responsible for their actions. Make sure they like him.

"I want this camp built by tomorrow. Barbed wire, bunkers, and all. Put the engineering platoon to work with land mines, and have them siphon power off so that we can electrify the fences. I want them to be deadly. I also want the bunkers to face both directions, with heavy MG's deployed to fire on either an attacking force, or the prisoners. Have the best marksmen in the guard towers, and I want machine gun nests in them, ready to fire on rioters.

"Let your men know, if any one of those terrorists makes a single wrong step, to aim for a kill."

The captain took notes, saluted, and was dismissed. The Major ordered his men to pack up, and prepare to finished the cordon on Fort Boston.

2 Day Later:

The YMC moved into position around Fort Boston. There, they met up with the Cadets as planned.

The leader of the Cadets, a teacher, apparently, met with Maj. Alfsson, who, after pleasantries, jumped right to business.

"Sir, I don't want your cadets on the front lines. They are just kids. My men are experienced, and I would rather risk them than a group of kids."

OOC: Sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes. I took the day off for my birthday (which is really tomorrow) and will be spending it here in the college computer lab, which stupidly uses IE instead of Firefox.

"Sir, we have news of forces reaching to surround Fort Boston."

"When are they striking? I have got the airships rearmed and refuelled by airtender, so we should be ready for the attack.
Tell them we will give them fire support, and one hell of a diversion."

---------------

Message to Yanitaria

We wish to know when the strike will happen. While you attack from the edge of the city, we will attack from the inside. While we may be small on numbers, we can promise you artillery support, air support and one hell of a fireworks show from the airships.

---------------

Onboard the minorly damaged airship, the crew watched as the smaller airship, with a massive plastic/steel container mounted underneath, expertly guided itself abrest of the aircruiser. From the container came a hiss as the pneumatic ramp was extended, flying onto the underside walkway, before a quick exchange between computers maintained the buoyency so the platfrom weighed in effect nothing.

Across it came 6 men, dragging behind them on wheels massive crates filled with missiles. The missiles were already readied to the point where they just needed slotting into the racks, and conencting to the control system.

At the far end of the tender, another platfrom extended, with a large pipe underneath it. An engineer quickly locked its coupling onto the refuelling socket, and heard a hiss as the hydrogen was blasted into the cylinders onboard from the tender tanks.

After about half an hour, the racks were ready and the engines fuelled. In the distance, the other tender detached from the other airship, and was soon follwed by this tender detaching itself, the platforms retacting back to the underside of the tender.

There was a roar as the other tender moved off, the turbofans quickly moving it away and back out to sea, where it would wait tethered to one of the carriers while the battle went on, providing a final repair and refuelling once the battle ended.

With a satellite finally moving into position, it was determined that the GCLM's forces were concentrated in and around the town hall. As a result, that building was determined to be the target of the assault. Manus Dei waited for nightfall before commencing their attack; equipped with night vision equipment, the Milites attached suppressors to their weapons and scanned for armed targets on the streets of the city.

Any enemy sentries out in the open would be shot by Manus Dei marksmen before the assault commenced; they rose from their positions and moved quietly from all sides into the town. They took to scaling the fire escapes of buildings and taking to the rooftops in some areas to assure full operational security, while others continued to move through the streets, making sure to stay out of the light. They made as little noise as possible; now that it was dark, people in the street would be few and far between, allowing for a swift and silent assault.

The bulk of the Manus Dei troops took up firing positions outside the town hall; by the time they began to accumulate in larger numbers outside that GCLM stronghold, the shooting would most likely have started, with GCLM sentries within the town hall finally figuring out what was going on. The Milites, on the other hand, would simply lay down suppressive fire on the windows and other firing positions of the town hall and settle down outside for a siege.

Their forces were well equiped, with everything from crew-served medium and heavy machineguns and light grenade machineguns set up outside the town hall, to multiple RPG teams and snipers taking up positions in the surrounding buildings. Civilians were ordered to stay in their homes, and Magister Annalis would call on the garrison to surrender over a bullhorn.

In other sectors on Rhodes Island, Manus Dei forces were begining to train and equip local Catholic forces. Doomani commanders also looked into securing an airfield. Once that was accomplished, Manus Dei would be able to bring in fighter aircraft and more reinforcements by air.

Lt. Colonel Rebecca Lowenstein, the Kahanistanian executive officer in charge of the first expedition of Kahanistan's new peacekeeping corps, fumed. She had already received notice that one of her soldiers had been shot and was now brain dead, apparently after having molested one of the locals. Now, Rhodes Island was under attack by some terrorist cult, and Kahanistan's forces were all in Fort Boston.

She strode out of her office and ran into Lt. General Mark Hanson, the nominal operation commander. (This was more of a training mission for the peacekeepers; the general would only act if the colonel screwed up.)

"This isn't going well at all," she grumbled. Lowenstein was relatively young for her rank, and had only been bumped up so high because the last war had thinned out the ranks; they tended to promote whom they could to fill the ranks and dismiss the ones they couldn't accomodate. Kahanistan's total military was 500,000 and its peacekeeping division only 25,000 strong. The forces in NTC were 1,000 at full strength.

"What isn't?" asked the general.

"Terrorist attack in Rhodes Island. On top of that, Catholic forces are getting stronger... better weapons."

"So, you suspect the Doomani?" asked Hanson.

"No. The Doomani military will just level a city, they won't mess around with urban warfare. They will minimise casualties and generally don't engage in siege warfare. Manus Dei, on the other hand... are a bunch of terrorists. They might very well use siege tactics over a building."

"So, you suspect Manus Dei is involved. Unfortunately, we have little else to go on; I will recommend to the Central Command that an intelligence platoon be attached to peacekeeping battalions in the future. In the meantime... try to focus on Fort Boston. We don't have very many troops to spare; I will ask other peacekeeping powers about Rhodes Island... and confirm, or refute, your suspicion."

---

That day, Kahanistanian peacekeepers went out in force. With recent bombings, snipings, and random firefights, and the peacekeepers' strict rules of engagement, their actual strength was down to 943 from its initial 1,000.

The peacekeepers remained neutral in the fighting, merely protecting places of worship and monitoring suspected loci of terrorist activity.

All forces here assembled will push into the city, careful to coordinate their attacks with each other. The Divine Hospices will meet up with the Alfegos soldiers already in the city and help maintain a defensive position. Alfegos will also provide air cover for all those who need it, and Risban will provide artillery support from its massive naval batteries." Now let us crush these scum! Move out. The order was relayed down communications systems straight to the Alfegos positions. They knew what to do.

"Alright men. With a loaded magazine, Load and Make Ready!"

There was a near similtaneous click as the magazine locked into the rifle, followed by the click of the battlesights being readied, and then the noise of over 4000 assault rifles being cocked.

In the positions, the heavy weapons teams had made ready with other weapons: mortars, AT-87s, grenade launchers, HMGs and flamethrowers.

There was a pause, for about 10 seconds, in which total silence reigned. The deep intake of breath before the storm.

"Open Fire! Rapid bursts!"

The gunshots rang out across the city.

In the air, another spectacle had been planned to keep the enemy heads down. Both airships turned around, with their bows facing inland. The bombay doors opened, and from them came tens of missiles, streaming across the sky at the city, ending in massive groups of cluster-explosions. The miniguns then started up, spraying rounds and purple tracer through the air, ending as it hit the ground and exploded.

The troops not in the front line had scrambled to the APCs, and were now screaming down the streets towards the frontline, the roof gunner firing off round after round from the roof gun.

Behind them, the mortar fire started, a deafening thud shaking the ground, followed by a distant explosion.

----------------------------------------

Aboard the carriers, men ran across the decks, while aircraft roared off towards Fort Boston. Each was armed with "smart munitions" , to try and limit friendly casualties.
In total, 240 roared off the carrier, before rising to height to attack the enemy in Fort Boston with one hell of a lot of munitions.

The commander yelled from the top of the command vehicle, over the hubbub of battle. Beside him, a missile pod exploded into flame as the wire-guided projectile shot out, towards a flat where the enemy were firing out at them, It exploded on impact, the wire dropped onto the ground raising a cloud of dust, before being reeled in by a motor.

Above, the fighters had started on their bombing run, targets pointed out by underlsung laser designators or by the airships floating above.

Behind them, the firing intisified to ripple as the Alfego troops advanced to the next block, keeping the enemy's heads down as they pepperpotted across the rooftops and streets, or even just blasting holes in adjacent buildings and going through the gap on SIPneu-ladders or even just walking into the next room, with gunfire covering them.

The Alfegos troops had begun the advance. Hopefully, the other nations would be also.

Fort Boston:

A roar could be heard all over the city. 70,000 Yanitarian Marines attacked, with 19,900 in reserve, but all yelled their fury as they charged into battle on top of APC's and inside RG-31's.

From his forward command post, Maj. Karl Alfsson yelled into a 10,000 watt speaker, built from 5 looted speakers found in underground night clubs on the trail to the city. The speakers shook the ground, but reassured the troops as they moved forwards.

Yanitarian artillery and missiles complimented the current dazzle going on more towards the center of the city, and Maj. Alfsson was reminded of an old song that was written somewhere much south of the area, about red rockets, and bombs in the air. Come to think of it, he thought, those cluster bombs seem about right.

Somewhere behind enemy lines, a secret resistance task force, headed by two LEP soldiers snuck up behind key defence points, taking the defenders unaware, and slitting their throats, or executing them with silenced AUG's and USP's. Moments later, they would disappear, just a few seconds before YMC forces would turn the corner.

In other areas, Yanitarian Marines, fighting house to house, would come upon houses where the GCLM were nothing but bloody corpses. In some of them, it looked like a body of someone, probably a comrade of those who had emptied the house, had been dragged off.

Still, no reports on these were made, and the marines pushed forward.

Colonel Lowenstein tried to raise Standish for the fourth time on the radio. "Shit. Can't get him."

"Why were you trying to contact him?" asked Major Muhammad Akbar al-Khumar.

"He wanted us to pull back to the Foreign Sector for our own safety. Dammit, we aren't here for our safety. We're here to keep these sectarians from killing each other, and protect civilians."

"I take it we aren't pulling back," said Khumar.

"Damn straight we aren't pulling back. We're not handing this place over to religious fanatics any more than we'd hand Kahanistan over to religious fanatics."

The stalwart defenders stood their ground and fought with a veracity that impressed their opponents. Despite that fact that most of these soldiers were not trained much they had gained some serious experience in the fighting leading up to this battle. Before the cordon had effectively closed reinforcements had been pouring in from all over the country. They knew that this would be the decisive battle. Concordia was not worth defending, the Grand Council was stuck in a hole with only one entrance and exit and tens of thousands of Kiravian soldiers were pouring it. If they could only hold Fort Boston, long enough for the Milites to secure Rhodes Island they knew that they would not have died in vain. All of them knew they were going to die, but they continued to fight anyways. Their RPGs and LAWs inflicted casualties, but casualties that could be sustained, well over 100,000 troops were in Fort Boston. The GCLM were pushed back easily at first, but as the days wore on they counter attack very successfully, nearly reaching the waters edge, but again they were contained. It was simply a war of attrition now, and the Yanitarian Summit forces were favored to win.

Warwik

Manus Dei banners had been draped from the town hall; a garrison of around one thousand Milites had filed into the town over the night, and by morning it was effectively Manus Dei's capital on Rhodes Island. Encampments throughout the island were already training local Catholic forces by the thousands, giving the Order a sizable auxiliary force to draw from.

Formations of uniformed Milites stood at attention within the town square, surrounding a single steel pole that had been placed at the center the previous night. Bound to the stake was Elect Timms, who had a very good idea of what was going on when a pair of Milites began to douse him in gasoline. Standing at the foreground of the execution sight was Magister Capitulus M. Avitus Macer, overall commander of the Crusade, who had made Warwik his new headquarters following its capture by Manus Dei forces the night before.

His booming voice broadcast a violent speech, condemning Timms as a heretic and making it very clear that all other such heretics would meet a the same or worse fate as he was about to meet. The executioner, standing next to the terrified Timms, touched a lit torch to the man's skin, which subsequently ignited from the gasoline. His screams of agony would stay with the locals, who had all been forced to watch, for the rest of their lives.

Fortifications were under construction all over the town: the outskirts were being strewn with barbed wire and landmines, while machinegun and anti-tank emplacements were being set up in key areas to ensure that every possible approach would be guarded. Even anti-aircraft guns had been brought in in the event the Puritans had anything resembling an air force left and decided to sally against Warwik.

However, now that it had been ascertained that there was an airstrip at Smithfield, Manus Dei was plotting its next move. In this assault, local Catholic forces would be used along side a few dozen Milites. A squadron of helicopters had also been alocated to the attack, so important was this objective. Once this airport fell, Manus Dei would be able to bring the fighters sitting beneath the decks of their freighters ashore and put them into action against the remaining GCLM units on the island.

OOC: Sorry for the absence

New Salem

The one thousand nine hundred and seventy nine unwounded Tanaaran Drop Troops kept the surviving surrended troops from New Salem and Charleston hard at work, clearing the damage done to the cities.

The Colonel had been very explicit in her address to the captured GCLM troops - as narrow, odd, bright pink bands were sealed around each one's left shin, just above the ankle. The bands were high tech composites, uncutable by anything but the especially designed shears. Her Tanaaran accent was very pronounced.

"Each one of those contains a tracker. Yo' leave the vicinity of the city and we will know it. Yo run away and we will find yo. Yo hide and we will find yo."

Some glared at her, for they had been thinking of doing just that, knowing that less than two thousand to guard over twice that many troops and protect five or six times that many civillians...

"I do not care what religion yo' are, I do not care what religions the civilians are. Yo' all will work together to clear up this mess and rebuild as much as possible. With no bickering, no insulting, no shirking. Or I will personally expend yo' worthless selves. Hate me if you want, I don't give a tinkers damn, and you can call down all the curses of your worthless gods that yo want. I'm pagan and I don't believe he exists." Her smile was cold and cruel and calculated. She wanted them too busy hating her to hate one another.

But any one who noticed, saw that the troopers who moved among them, working just as hard as any prisoner, were kindly spoken, no rougher than they had to be, and made sure no one worked beyond their ability - but they wouldn't let any one shirk either. They werre not too proud to get dirty or sweaty, and did nothing that might be construed by any of the populace as being sexual harrassment.

Food and medical supplies had been effeciently rounded up and were doled out as needed with no favortism. Now was there anything resembling torture, and the one or two fanatics who tried attacking their captors were treated like the fools they were - one blow from a power armored fist knocked them unconscious as well as breaking bones. The attacker was treated and put in chains.

General Stevens looked at the city that his forces were now helping to surround with an impatient frown. A sergant approached him:

"Sir, the Yanitarians have begun their attack."

The General smiled. "Good, that is our cue to join the fray. Ready the men, we attack immediately. Battle as usual: no retreat, no surrender."

"Yes sir."

several minutes later the 30,000 strong force bagan to move. As they advanced in, they began to sing in unison. Thirty thousand voices rang across the battlefield, carrying for miles over the sounds of battle, all singing a single hym. They caught up with the Yanitarian marines, and advanced with them. Meanwhile General Stevens attempted to contact Standish, in order to receive permission to use the Royal Guard to their full potential as shock troops and attempt to break a hole in the defensive lines.

1 Section, 1 Platoon, A company, 2nd Batallion, had just come across some very heavy resistance. The Captain at the head of the section yelled for covering fire from his Delta team, just before the machinegun nest opened fire in front of him, shredding him instantly.

The colour sergeant yelled
"Give us some covering fire godammit!", and was rewarded with the machinegun nest temporarily ceasing its chattering. The Charlie fireteam ran 5 metre bounds between cover on the rooftop, before one of them tossed a grenade into the enemy position, now 20 metres away. There was a bang, a scream and the cessation of the machinegun firing.

The rest of the squad moved into the position he had just taken, before spreading out around it in defensive pattern. The delta fireteam machinegunner grabbed the box of ammunition from the detroyed position's machine gun.

They waited while the medic finsihed with the captain, before they began to moveon again.

-------------------------------------------

The line was slowly advancing against the thousands of enemy still in there. It was a simple matter of clearing out each building each time, and there were many buildings in Fort Boston.

Some, filled with resistance, were just flattened by a sudden missile screaming ot of the sky, or by the whistile of a smartbomb.

Satellites are wonderful pieces of technology. Properly equipped, they can be unsleeping eyes over any place on Earth. Tanaara had turned more than a few of its orbital assets towards the Holy Empire of the New True Cross, and some of those assets were those beyond state of mere modern art eyes in the heavens. And the eyes had dutifly done their duty as it had been ever so carefully programmed into them. What they had so dispassionalety recorded would bring cries of horror to some, a shrug of disinterest from others, a few would rub their hands with glee, while still others would see it as a time for yet more gain.

It hadn't happned just hours ago, it'd happened a day or two ago according to the time stamp, but with all the fresh intelligence coming in it wasn't unusuall for sidreal actions to have to wait some time to be noticed. Thats the nature of the beast. Some times even it has to sit and wait.

However when the images and their 'interpertation'- though what had been recored was marvelously clear and distinct even from orbit - had been given to the Four Horsemen, as they were often titled, Sinjin, Lord Kincannon made a face of strong distaste and went to wake his Queen up and pass along the data. Horror and all. He knew that she'd not like it at all, and not resent his interuption of her all too often scant sleep.

Mercedez Merideath Hexx hadn't held the throne of the 'most likely to stage a armed revolt at the implimentation of a disliked policy' nation around for nearly twenty magnificantly successful years by ducking hard work, or bemoaning lost sleep. Eighteen hours work hour days were the norm for her.

Mercy looked over the data, she'd been the Director of TMI before becoming heir, then Queen, and knew well how to read it herself. "Use what ever it takes to get Miles Standish on the line as quickly as possible." That was her first order. Her second was to get more assets over Warwik.

She despised religious bigots like Elect Timms, but even he hadn't deserved to die like that. Manus Dei was no betterthan the GC. Importing an insurgrency was no act of forestalling a genocide, it was just more religious terrorism. And there was one sound way to burn terrorism out.

Her face was set and cold as she gave the third order and Sinjin spun around in shock.

As the cities defenses fell one by one to the Yanitarian Summit forces the GCLM began to realize the futility of their plight. Some positions were come upon and the occupants had committed suicide. Other soldiers ran out in bonzai charges taking out as many YSfs as they could before getting gunned down. As the body count mounted on both sides, the resistance again stiffened. Driving down King Philip's Avenue at 50mph, Standish in his Leopard II tank, was firing the .50 at just about anything that moved. He was having the time of his life. He almost shot a Tanaaran recon. vehicle that pulled up along side and requested a quick meeting. The two vehicles stopped and Standish jumped down, greeting the Tanaaran with a salute. One unlucky soldier, having been disoriented from the explosions wandered into the Kiravian breaking team. He only got off one shot that went wide before he was tackled by four Kiravian soldiers. He fought hard but soon he was subdued.

The unfortunate GCLM man was not killed. Tackled, yes, knocked around a bit, yes, but the Kiravians decided to let him live. Besides, he knew the location of the Grand Council, which the Kiravians could not afford to accidentally destroy.

"Tell us where the Grand Council is. We are under orders to take them alive."

The Kiravians pushed forward to the catacombs. Not much finesse could be used at this point, but they had to be sure that the GC was left alive. They were to get past the barricades first, and then figure out what to do next.
With weapons firing, the forward teams descended on the remaining 320 of the defenders.

The forces, while taking casialties, were still moving in, any resistance taken down thanks to the jet fighters that had now landed back on the hangers, and also the largely-undamaged airships. The crew had not been under that much fire, and wondered whether the enemy had no AA support, or were saving up for something devastating.

----------------

On the ground, the air was thick with rounds as the Alfegos forces fired in firefights. Not as they observed some forces, in massive sprays, but in precise shots, which nearly all found their mark - in the first 8 infantry divisions, they were only passed to be a full soldier if they had a 100 metre lethal accuracy rate of at least 85%.

The only bursts of rapid fire from the rifles came against heavy opposition, to keep the enemy head down.

Soon, the enemy was changing to suicide attacks, their morale obviously broken. This was where the squads with flamethrower and acid-spray crews proved their worth, causing hideous injury to the enemy that charged blindly at them. If they did get close enough, the large combat knives and heavy rifle butts made short work of any enemy attack, the enemy being dispatched nearly painlessly by expert slashes to the neck and stab wounds deep into the body, straight through the spinal cord on the other side.

The casualties in Alfegosian forces had started to mount, yet soon they hoped they would hold the city. Then they could leave, to a restful 3 month leave period, where they would find a restful part-time job behind lines on in the civilian businesses for the while.

The Kiravians then saw the Grand Council members in the center of the small formation.

Later on that day on national television.
"Kiravian troops have captured the Grand Council in Concordia after a costly battle. The country now under the control of troops loyal the Supreme Elect Myles Standish. We beseech everyone who is still armed to please lay down your weapons and you will be spared. Fort Boston, the last hold out of the rebel troops has been effectively evacuated of civilians, and the Standish loyal troops have been given the orders to shoot to kill. For your own sakes and your families please lay down your arms.
In other news Standish announced this morning that elections will be held next year, to make sure that the people have a true representative democracy. Until that time a martial law will be in effect to restore order. To make sure this martial law is not abused an internal watch-dog group is forming. This group will seek the help of the international community if the martial law is abused. This has been an announcement from Elector Dr. Matthew Tibble the new head of the Department of Information. All Hail Standish!"

And with that, the first broadcast of the new government, a glimmer of hope, diversity, and nationalism began to flicker and turn into a flame. The streets of Fort Boston fell one by one to the Yanitarian Summit forces, until only a few blocks remained. At this point the Risbani, Tanaarai, and Alfegos unleashed their full firepower upon the blocks and leveled them. Pockets of resistance remained, and this issue of possible foul play on Rhodes Island, but for the most part the NTC was once again at peace. During his re-Inauguration ceremony Myles Standish was named:
Grand Chancellor of The United Puritan Domains
Supreme Elect of The Holy Empire of The New True Cross
Grand Marshal of the NTC Armed Forces

"Friends...brothers...citizens! I greet you as a man of humility and piety. We have all felt the affects of this brutal violation of our rights. In one months time we shall commit the Grand Council to trial. I am hereby abolishing the Grand Council system and instead keeping retainers and advisers who, under my ever vigilant gaze, will help me administer this nation. I am also abolishing the religious identification card system. This is a new age of tolerance and justice! Let the kingdom of Heaven crush those who are unjust and intolerant!"
A long military parade followed, with the soldiers of all participant nations marching down the rubble strewn King Philip's Avenue. The scene was magnificent in its contrivedness. It was a propagandists wet-dream. A camera flashed to Standish's face, a tear rolled down his cheek and his surveyed the genuine and solemn columns of soldiers and armor passing by. This were the friends that money could not buy, these man and women had risked their lives to save his people from tyranny.

The Kiravians celebrated their victory that night, but not after the grisly aftermath of the battle was attended to.

The surrendering GC troops had their weapons taken, and were released. The captured GC troops helped calculate their casualties before being allowed to leave. The men- on both sides- that had fallen, were buried honourably outside of the destroyed city. Some were still held captive, and many of the officers were tried by a makeshift jury of volunteer NTC citizens, and examined by the military.

Last but not least, the wall of bodies that had been gruesomely assembled was blessed by a omni-Christian prayer, and one for a few other religions, and then set alfame, to erase the scar of this heartless mass-murder from the Earth.

As all of this was going on, General Ironfield sent a message to Standish:

The Alfegosian troops were chatting in camp, with only a few platoons on patrol: the battle was won. The 206 dead men and women were lying, their eyes closed, in a straight line inside one of the missile aircruiser's many vast inspection platforms, and had gone back home, where they would be buried where their families pleased.

The streets had the occasional wreck as one drove by, evident of the many attacks, while some streets were filled with angular bullet holes, piles of rubble and blown out buildings. Most Alfegos wrecks had been returned to base,a nd what little was left was salvaged.

Soon, the men started leaving. There was now only a single batallion that would be left to guard the war-torn city, and all would be gone in a month as the Holy Empire retook control.

The airship remained, a reminder to all of the futility of resistance, while on the horizon, the magnificant silver envolopes of 6 Clipper-class transports floated through the sky, all carrying supplies, building materials, food, small amounts of ammunition and building crew, who would soon clear up the mess, and leave the people feeling slightly better.

As authorised by one Miles Standish, Grand Chancellor of The United Puritan Domains,Supreme Elect of The Holy Empire of The New True Cross, and
Grand Marshal of the NTC Armed Forces...
"I understand, well I approve of anything but that...."

This was anything but That However the effects would be much the same.

High over head, far beyond the daily thoughts of the vast majority of Earth's populace, a finger paused for a second, a quick, feverent, sotto voced incovation to the greater Universe, then firmly mashed down on a button. The timing had been calculated exquisitely, planed to take in every bit of possible in-orbit interferance from lost spacesuit gloves to any and all satellites. The targeting with equal care, the spot specifically chosen.

Warwik, the square in front of the town hall, the square that had seen the murder of Elect Timms...

Three times the button was pressed, and three times the specifically designed, yet ever so artificial asteroids left the mass drivers cradle and sped Earthward. One of the three would get though, if not all three. All were designed to lose some of their mass in their firey passage through the earth's atmosphere, but all were designed to hold together thought that furnace passage with little to no dispersion if break up did occur..

Space is said to start at roughtly 62 miles above the Earth's surface -which takes less than a minute to reach if one is going the standard escape velocity of 7 miles per second... but the button lay in the Clark Belt - some 22,000 miles up. However when an object is moving at about 20 miles per second (some 900 miles per minute) it's going to take less than 30 minutes to cover that distance, and you can add on another five for the angle of strike, making it look much more natural. And that gives precious little time for detection.

Just a side comment...For a land impact, it can be said that an object of roughly 225 feet in diameter can probably destroy a city, a 480-foot object can destroy a large urban area, a 1050-foot object can destroy a small state, and a 700-meter (2,100-foot) object can destroy a small country. ...

The three 'asteroids' targeting Warwick were designed to have roughly 200 feet of diameter left on impact. All three striking would thus be some 600 foot diameter worth of impact.

So it was ordered, so it was done.

From: The Government of Burlovia

Our nation cannot tolerate the killing of innocent atheists, and this huge huminatarian crime must be fixed. Our nation joins the opposing forces against The New True Cross and declares a war to this criminal nation.

In a few hours the immediate reaction forces of Burlovia invaded The New True Cross with the strength of 5 divisions totalling 50 000 men. They include 4 infantry divisions and one tank division.

OOC: Tanaara: long technobabbel discussions short form- No, no you don't. You clearly do not understand the gravity (no pun intended) of what you are attempting to do here. You are attempting to maneuver an object several hundred feet in diameter traveling at hypersonic velocity and hit an extremely tiny target that is twenty-two thousand miles away. I can go into great detail as to why exactly this is practically impossible, but I think what I just described more or less sums up just how far-fetched this is.

Unless you have a plausible explanation as to how you manage to do this, of course. I'm very interested as to how you'd pull that off.

Deep in an ocean, big-sized nuclear submarine cruised through cold water. it had a giant red star on it´s side, declaring it´s nationality under the star with yellow letters: The Socialist Union Of Burlovia.
It rose on the surface and opened missile doors on the top of the vehicle. After the submarine got a coded message, it launched 10 long range cruise missiles (note: not nuclear weapons, but high-yield conventional missiles) towards The New True Cross´ military positions. Check TGs. You'd best hear both sides of the arguement before making the final decision.

Not to mention that should this thing hit, the side effects would include an enourmous cloud of dust being thrown into the air that would probably prevent anything in the country from growing for awhile and most likely choke hundreds of thousands of other civilians to death...

OOC: Sorry for being inactive so long, been having a lot of RL issues to deal with. I will recap whats happened at the Drvarskan DZs.

IC:

Fort Succonesset

The brave 2,000 soldiers fighting savagly took heavy casualties as they fought outside one of the most well defended forts in GCLM territory. With artillery raining down on them they sent out a company to take care of them.

Captain Ramonov approached the artillery pieces silently with his men along side him, slowly they began to equip grenade launchers on their XM-8 assault rifles. Launching a suprise attack they managed to knock out the artillery crews and secure the area with minor casualties.

With the artillery ceased the remaining soldiers charged forward towards the fort and ran in firing off hails of XM-8, PKM and RPK-74 fire. A round from a RPG-28 knocked out a GCLM machine gun nest that pinned down some paras.

After a few hours of fighting the fort was taken but the Drvarskan paratroopers had many casualties and had to remain in the fort. Immediatly they set up a defence perimeter.

Casualties (Fort Succonesset):
641 KIA
59 MIA
220 WIA

Remaining: 1,080

Remaining forces (Group A): 8,280

========

South & North East of Fort Massechussets

With the areas secure they recieved a report from HQ ordering the soldiers to move down to Plimoth and secure the areas with any GCLM activity. 5,000 soldiers began to move out to that area leaving the remainder (3,520) behind to defend the captured DZs.

Casualties:
862 KIA
182 MIA
436 WIA

Remaining: 8,520

Total Casualty list (Group A and B):
2,070 KIA
