Rioting In Yanitaria

Special Report
July 23, 2015

Today marks the one year mark until Yanitaria's elections. In a controversial move, the president, Citizen Mattias Norheim, has decided to modernize the military. In his speech, he is cited as saying

It is time for Yanitaria to modernize it's military. Our airforce especially was totally inadiquate. With the new fighters, CAS planes, transports, bombers, and helicopters, our great nation's airforce is one of the most envied in the region.

Furthermore, the retiring of the YK-112 rifles in favor of the advanced FN-2000 rifles means that our ground troops will be equiped with some of the best rifles money can buy. Although our engineers did an outstanding job, the rifles are lacking in several key features that the FN-2000 has.

And finally, with our new vehicular purchases, we can strike through mine fields, over water, and in extreme tempuratures with impunity.

President Norheim is expected to also bring our Navy up to date once the fall budget comes in. Military analysts has praised his moves.

However, presidential candidate, Reginald Stanson has called out against it. In Light of the expendature, over 180 Billion denarii, or 90 Billion USD, he has called for the removal, by force, of the president, claiming that the government should leave the military defence to corporations

Citizen Stanson is a member of the newly reinstated Capitalizt party, which Citizen Norheim allowed to reform under a bill allowing for more flexible party registration. The bill was praised for it's provision allowing any group of 100 citizens or more to form their own party. Previously the Capitalizt party was banned after the November Revolution ended three years ago.

In response to the call to arms, several thousand people have taken to the streets off the capital, brandishing clubs, and screaming "Give Us Comrade Norheim". Comrade is the term used by most Yanitarians when refering to foreigners.

Police, driving in RG-31's, Kubelwagons, and accompanied by 4 Leclerc MBT's cordoned off the area, and asked the crowd to quietly disperse. Although Yanitarian law allows the police to monitor and supervise protests, the protesters started beating on the sides of the cars and the 4 tanks, and crying out against a percieved limiting of their freedom of speech.

Soon the conflict escalated, as shots were fired from the crowd. Police returned fire with rubber bullets, and SWAT officers moved in with shields and batons.

In the ensuing fight, three officers were shot, and two critically injured. 2 civilians were killed, one by a baton and the other by a rubber bullet at point blank, and 300 civilians were injured. The violence escalated further, as riots broke out in three major cities, Yanitaria, Centreville, and New Leeds.

During the conflict, Stanson made a public address, calling for a revolution. An estimated 3,000,000 people dissappeared last night, either presumed to be joining the rebel forces, or hostages.

At 6:00am, YST, Citizen Norheim sent out a dimplomatic envoy to every embassy, and made an international address requesting assistance with the newest string of terrorists since the SRMY of the November Revolution.

Marine Captain Karl Alfsson, vetern of the single Yanitarian battle in the recent Stoklomolvi-Terrorist incident, had recieved his orders.

His marines, in their CV-90's, would move on a suspected terrorist weapons cache in Nouvelle Paris.

The city was dark that night, so they left the back door panel open a crack. On the computer screen, he saw the destination, and the second CV-90 coming up behind it. A block away from the target building, a small house in a residential area, the IFV stopped, and 8 marines exited.

Bullets ripped through the night, and a 7.62mm round brought a marine to the ground, and knicked the captain's helmet. The marines dove for cover, and returned fire with an MG4. The bullets tore apart a lone bush, and a man screamed from with in. The lights in near by houses turned on, and civilians looked out their windows to see what the commotion was. Alfsson could see on mother holding her daughter away from the window, so that she wouldn't see the dead man in their front lawn.

Karl ordered the commander of the CV-90 to pull the wounded marine in and dress his wound. A beep on the radio signalled that the other 8 marines were in position, covering the back door and alleys with their IFV and were ready to shoot anyone with a weapon.

Captain Alfsson moved his squad to the front door, and a private hooked a chain to the doorknob and hinges. The chain was attached to the APC, and with one quick lurch, the doorframe, and part of the wall, was ripped out of the hinges.

"Anyone home!?" a corporal yelled, and the squad entered the house.

Stoklomolvi is appalled at this act of rebellion and is willing to send two million of its finest Imperial Guardsmen to aid Yanitaria in stamping out the rebels. If any air support is required, then Stoklomolvi is willing to lend carpet bombing support to Yanitaria if that is what most be done to rid Yanitaria of the rebels.

To: The Communist Dominion of Stoklomolvi

We thank you for your generous contribution of arms, and accept. Until further notice, Stoklomolvian ships will be given full access to Yanitarian territorial waters, and may dock at any port necessary. Stoklomolvi will also be granted full access to Yanitarian Air Space

However, due to the fact that Yanitaria takes great pride in it's environment and architecture, we will, for now, decline you offer for air support in the form of Carpet Bombing. Strategic bomber support, and fighter/bomber support would, however, be welcome.

To: The Federation of Angaor

Yanitaria welcomes your support. Until further notice, your nation will be given full access to Yanitarian Waters, Air Space, and ports.

Special Diplomatic Note from Citizen Mattias Norheim:

We, the people of the United Socialist States of Yanitaria are most grateful to the both of you. At the end of this conflict, we would like to hold a parade for all those soldiers from foreign countries who came to our aid when we needed it most.

In addition, after the conflict, we wish to create a monument to all of the lost soldiers of this terrible rebellion.

Continued:

The seven marines entered the house, just as a man holding a YK-112 entered the room. He was promptly shot by the first marine to enter.

Captain Alfsson pulled the pin on a flash bang, and tossed in into the room the man had just exited. The marines braced themselves for the bang.

Had they been able to hear anything, the marines would have heard the surpised scream of three men, all terrorists. They entered the room, and subdued the dazed men before putting them in zip-cuffs.

They heard the machine gun from the CV-90 open up in both the front and back. Obviously someone was trying to escape. The marines waited for the guns to stop, and moved out of the room, and into the living room. YK-112's, and a few RPG-7's scattered on the couch and coffee table. A lone man was on his knees with his hands behind his head.

Karl personally restrained him, nearly ripping his arm off in the process. Suddenly a shot sounded behind him, and the marines returned fire. 12 bullets ripped through a lone woman holding a Five-seveN 5.7mm handgun. The shot had caught a marine in the armour, tearing through it and into his shoulder.

The woman fell to the ground and bled to death. Karl radioed for a medic, and called the second marine squad in to hold the bottom floor.

After the second squad arrived, the captain led his squad upstairs. He poked his head around a corner, and nearly had it taken off by a man swinging a machete. Karl opened fire at point blank, emptying his entire mag into the belly of the large man, a biker, by the looks of him, before he realized he was dead.

The marines did a quick search of the top floor, but found nothing until finally they were at the last room.

With a solid kick, the sergeant kicked the door in, and the marines entered. It was a little girl's room, and a tiny child, maybe 5 years old, sat crying in the corner.

Karl waited 5 seconds. During the revolution, the invading forces had wired small children to blow up. On one of his first days as a revolutionary, he had seen his captain blown up by a small boy with one arm.

When no explosion came, Karl turned the girl around, and checked her for any explosives. He found none, so he picked her up and started to console her.

Once downstairs, he handed her to a medic, and led his squad to the basement. Although unoccupied, the basement was full of weaponry. Everything from hand guns to tank shells.

He sighed, and thought of his wife and two children. This would be a long war, he thought. He hoped that they wouldn't have to see the worst of it.

Welcome to Yanitaria. At the moment our forces are stretched a bit thin. However, a force of 10,000 men of the 1st Yanitarian Mountaineers Division will begin an operation in the mountains just north of the capital. Recent intelligence from a raid reports that there may or may not be a small rebel base in the area.

We would like your assistance, in the form of 5,000 men skilled in mountain combat to aid us. Insertion will be by C-130 and UH-60 black hawks from the town of Fort Sussex. We will of course transport your men in our planes and helicopters.

We await your reply.

Major General Baker had commandeered the planning room of the Fort Sussex Military Airport. The Angaorans had already arrived, and after the exchange of salutes and pleasantries, he asked to see how the planning was going.

He agreed that the plans so far were solid, but he had one reservation.

"Your M-150's, are they light enough to be para-dropped from a C-130? The mountain is quite a ways away, and so we would either have to drop them, or drive them. driving would simply take too long for the assault. However, are you familiar with Blitzkrieg? The Germans during WWII used fighter/bombers in place of artillery. The nearest airstrip is 15 minutes away, and I could have 10 Panavia Tornados dedicated to our op, able to cover an area with 9,000kgs of explosives each. This would provide us with ample air support and artillery."

Sea of Yanitaria, 0700 hours

Several thousand container ships transport approximately 1,800,000 Stoklomolvi Imperial Guardsmen across the Sea of Yanitaria. In the distance, the massive bluffs overlooking a small strip of beach can be seen, and the sounds of a distant battle can be heard. The Imperial Guardsmen all wear the same drab clothing; grey uniforms with steel helmets, akin to the uniforms that those who served in the Third Reich Wehrmacht wore, excluding the red armband and markings on their helmets. Instead, there are yellow stars on their grey helmets, and red and yellow bands on their shoulders signify their ranks.

Most of the soldiers carry the basic AK-2130 Assault Rifles, which have an effective range of around 630 metres. They have clips that hold 80 rounds, and even then this meagre number of bullets will only last for a number of seconds with its 950 rounds per minute rate of fire.

As the men near the shore, massive shore guns ring out as the rebel artillery bombard the sea with 450mm explosive rounds. Around them are the dead bodies of Yanitarian troops, ambushed and murdered for their weaponry. The rebels had put themselves in a very bad position; this is the only defended cliff, and they will probably be flanked on all sides. However, as the men near the shore, the sounds heavy machine guns rip through the air, and blood vapour floats about. Soldier after soldier are mowed down by the heavy machine guns, and the moment the soldiers touch down on the beach, the far away 600mm naval batteries on board the dreadnoughts bombard the bunkers atop the beach, which already is getting overrun on all sides, as predicted.

Shore Defences, near the Sea of Yanitaria, 0850 hours

With the last of the rebels exterminated, the Stoklomolvi Imperial Guard begin the slow process of marching to the nearest rebel-occupied city: Centreville. They had landed in-between New Oslo and Point Harbour, while closer to Point Harbour. Along the way, the soldiers encounter nothing other than guerillas trying to drive the "foreign devil" out of their lands. However, the men just blast the rebels into tiny bits, and after only two hours of transport, they reach Centreville, where several Stoklomolvi MiG Fighters fly overhead, dropping their payloads of smart missiles onto the enemy.

Centreville, Yanitaria, 1100 hours
The enemy's outdated weapons, which mostly included flak cannons for destroying air units, are no match against the advanced anti-missile systems mounted on the MiG aircraft. The Imperial Guardsmen march into the city, all the while blasting away at rebel buildings with their AK-2130s. The soldiers, unknowing of the request not to damage architecture, toss grenades and fire RPG-9s at the enemy, ruining priceless brick and mortar. However, in doing so, hundreds of rebels are eliminated without too much difficulty.
Yanitaria
24-10-2007, 03:55
Major General Baker pulled up the interrogation reports. "Well, it seems that these are ex-Yanitarian soldiers, so they can be expected to be equipped as well as our army. Estimates range from a group of 100, to 7,000 men. Under the best circumstances, the terrorists, the Capitalizt Army of Yanitaria, as they call themselves, would have a range of 100km.

"My plan is to insert men via parachute at this," he indicated a large, relatively flat area near the top of the mountain, "area. 5,000 men should be able to land there over 4 hours. Another 5,000 men can be air lifted, and set as needed by UH-60 Blackhawks. The last 5,000 men should be para-dropped in vehicles at the base of the mountain. Our RG-31's can traverse the terrain easily, but tanks and all but the toughest APC's will have a difficult time.

"Since we can't use armour, we can assume the rebels can't either. They are probably high on morale, but low on supplies, as well. Once the rebel base has been found, our men can start taking out patrols, and ambushing them for the next 2 nights. Finally, we'll have a massive air strike, taking out the guard towers, bunkers, and artillery, and we'll charge in.

"Our RG-31's can be equipped with 40mm grenade launchers, so I am thinking that they can lead a charge. At all costs, we should try to secure the commander, and find out what he knows."

Heavy Tupolev carpet bombers fly in from Stoklomolvi with napalm and explosive bombs. They reach Brugge, a city filled with rebels, and drop their payloads on the unsuspecting fools below, while the main army watches and waits. The moment the first napalm bomb hits the ground, flame spews out everywhere and licks the ceiling of the sky. Flaming rebels run everywhere, and anyone alive are shot by the waiting Imperial Guardsmen. C-130 aircraft at various locations in Orbath were fueled, checked up and loaded with men, cargo and machines. The first forces arriving were tasked with establishing a command center, field hospital and airfield east of New Leeds. It was determined that this location would give them the best range between New Leeds and Edgeburough. After this, follow on forces would use this as a FOB and attack New Leeds. A separate group of troops will move into Edgeburough and with assistance from local police forces and civilians, will secure the area. After the areas are secure, more troops will more in to provide aid to the public. After a mission briefing, the C-130s were ordered to take off. We will also be operating aircraft in the area, mainly helicopters and we can provide you with close air support, transportation, air-medical evacuations, and other such missions. We would also like to strongly urge you against the use of napalm in a city setting. Napalm can and will injure innocent civilians and cause damage where it is not needed. At Centreville, the rebel redoubt holds out well. Its massive 400mm anti-tank cannons obliterate many Stoklomolvi Type 125 Main Battle Tanks, but after but a mere ten minutes of fighting the door to the redoubt is destroyed and Imperial Guardsmen pour into the redoubt. Once the area is secured, all rebels are gathered in the city centre, where they are executed one by one by the local commander, Colonel Vadim Illyovich Horvath.

We would be glad to have your assistance in this time of need.

Unfortunately, the area around the mouth of the Bay of Yanitaria seems to have been infiltrated by rebels. The Climate is Mediterranean, with thick forests interspersed with fields and olive plantations. The cities and towns experience little fighting, but we have reason to believe that the main supplies for the rebel armies are stored here. In any case, it is a hazard to shipping, and we would like the area from Point Harbour to Eastford secured.

The C-130's dropped their payload in the moonless early morning sky. Only one hour ago the torrential rain had stopped, and Major General Baker had ordered the C-130's circling the mountains to drop the paratroopers.

The first troopers to land immediately rolled up their parachutes and stored them in a set area, were they would be picked up and reused once the area was clear.

RG-31's, who had been ordered forward hours ago started their engines, and paratroopers pulled the camouflage tarps off of them.

Enemy patrols had been delt with as needed, but no increase in patrols was percieved. The RG-31's were able to stay in the same place, and ambush enemy soldiers as they came to investigate the bodies.

Searches for intelligence told the Yanitarian and Angaoran troops that the rebels had no radio equipment, but they were armed with a mixture of FN-2000's, AY-112's, and AKM's.

The Paratroopers from both nations loaded up in the RG-31's, and waited for the rest of the troops.

0445 hours:
The four hours of paratrooper insertion was complete in two hours and forty-five minutes. Troops loaded in RG-31's road out, searching for the enemy base. Above them, the Panavia Tornados, the British made ground attack fighter, flew over head in sets of two.

It took only a single hour before the base was spotted.

15,000 rebels milled inside of the gigantic compound, covered in camouflage tarping.

The C-130 entered Yanitarian airspace and changed course, heading for the chose location of the FOB. Within an hour, the C-130s approached the drop zone. A tough Chief Warrant Officer stood by the door.

'' Get ready men, we may not encounter any resistance but if we do were gonna have to blow em all to hell, you got that.''

''Hooah, sir.''

With that, the green jump light came on and the men jumped into the dark, early morning sky. It was a quiet jump. Nothing shooting up at them. With a thud, their black combat boots hit the ground. They unattached their parachutes and stuffed them roughly back into their bags. They then moved, silently through the woods, the early dawn light barely reflecting off of their skrim covered helmets and camouflage painted faces. As soon as they reached their destinations, they took up defensive positions, hiding in among trees, logs, mud and bushes. The units had established a perimeter around a large area. After this was done, troops in bulldozers and using tree cutting devices began clearing the area. It had been chosen because it had only a few tree to clear, so it wouldn't take long.

Centreville, Yanitaria, 2300 hours

At Centreville, the last of the rebels have been exterminated, and the Imperial Guard are planning on moving west towards the city of New Leeds to remove all rebel presence from the area. Meanwhile, two rebel helicopters have been spotted flying over the city. They have since been shot down, and their pilots were executed. After waiting for many hours, the Imperial Guard finally move out towards New Leeds.

New Leeds, Yanitaria, 0400 hours

The rain has started up again. Men march through muddy fields, and vehicles plough through the soft dirt. Soon after, a rebel gun position fires on the army division. Shells fly, missiles launch, and bullets are fired. Men from both camps fall to the ground, life ebbing away with every passing moment. Aircraft launch smart missiles and destroy rebel bunkers. Civilians are shot by rebels to keep them quiet. Fighting rages throughout the morning, and men die everywhere. Civilians are blown to bits by bombs. Soon, all attention is focused on the New Leeds City Hall.

Yanitaria (Capitol), 600 hours:

General Charles De Remi marched with his men. He, and 100,000 Army Regulars, aided by Angaoran Light Infantry had started reclaiming the Capitol. From their fortifications on Palatine hill, they spread out, each taking their assigned neighborhoods.

Surprisingly, several groups of men and women, dressed in black with red armbands aided army against the rebels. These mysterious groups of people opened fire from unexpected places, usually turning the tide of the battle.

Finally, they had pushed the rebels back into a stadium. The Soldiers surrounded it, and prepared to wait them out.

But not before turning off their water and plumbing.

The landing had gone off without a hitch. Troops had been successfully inserted and an airfield as well as defenses had been constructed. This allowed follow on forces to begin landing at the base. By nightfall, all forces had arrived and one force in peticular was prepared to carry out their first mission.

12 Blackhawk helicopters that had rode in the bellies of C-130 aircraft had been fueled up. Inside sat members of the Orbathian AIr Calvary, an elite unit of troops. They had been tasked with capturing a vital part of the city, the place the rebels called headquarters, the city hall.
The rotors of the helicopters began spinning and they took off into the cool night air. For an hour or so they flew, through the mountain pass and towards the city. Soon they flew over the city, evidence of an occupation was visible. There were fires burning, assualt rifle fire and overturned cars. Soon, the City Hall was in sight. The Air Calvary had chosen to attack at night because it would mean there would be less civilians on the street. The helicopters approached. They began circling the City Hall. From the side doors, tear gas canisters were dropped onto the rebels below. Then the helicopters broke off into positions.
Four Blackhawks flew to the corners of the block the city hall was on, dropping ropes and allowing troops to slide down onto the street below. Four Blackhawks flew above four buildings around the city hall and let down ropes, allowing soldiers to take up positions on roof tops. Four Blackhawks hovered near City Hall. One after another they allowed troops to slide down ropes onto the roof. An assault was coming.

In a blast of black powder, it flew.

Road to Edgeborough, 0700 hours

Fighting in New Leeds continues, and the road to Edgeborough is quite muddy and wet. A division of the Imperial Guard marches towards Edgeborough to subdue it. Rebels camp near the sides of the roads, hoping to take the Imperial Guard by surprise. However, the Imperial Guardsmen keep soldiers along the edge, and the rebels either never show up or are shot the moment they appear. Along the way, several of the trucks break down, and the soldiers must stop and repair them before continuing. This wastes valuable time, and each passing moment creates a window for the rebels to strike.

Edgeborough, Yanitaria, 0900 hours

The trek was long and arduous, but the team finally makes it to Edgeborough at around 0900 hours. The rebels there have prepared during the travelling period, and defences are strong. Multitudes of heavy gun positions are located all around the city, and the Imperial Guards are caught at Edgeborough. Soon after, however, MiG bombers arrive and launch smart missiles at defensive positions in Edgeborough, completely annihilating them. Several planes filled with paratroopers fly over landing zones, dropping their loads of men. Smokescreen is deployed by other aircraft. The armour moves up the columns, and flattens rebel positions while mechanised infantry and regulars sweep in from behind. Both sides fight hard for control of the city.

Street Level

The troops on the street quickly took cover. Rebels had begun to shoot at them. Two soldiers had been hit and had to be dragged to cover. The soldiers took up cover behind anything they could. They began returned fire. Orbathain soldiers were expert marksmen and most switched their assault rifles to burst to allow steady, more accurate shooting. Soldiers with 40mm grenade launchers fired tear gas rounds at the enemy.

Rooftops Surrounding City Hall

Soldiers had taken up positions along rooftops. A couple soldiers secured the doors to the buildings with a flashbang. If someone opened the door, they would be stunned instantly. The rooftop soldiers took less fire than those on the ground, they seemed to be noticed less. They used this to their advantage. Snipers shot at the rebels below firing.

City Hall

There were two doors leading into the building from the roof. 2 teams of 10 each took up positions around the door. Using the shotgun attachment, two soldiers blew open the doors and tossed flashbangs in. Quickly, the teams rushed in, weapons aimed, unsure of what they would see.

As the rebels retreated into City Hall, they were fire dupon more heavily by the ground troops, rooftop troops and Blackhawk helicopters. Half of the soldiers on the street closed in on the building, shooting out windows and lobbing tear gas inside. A soldier on the ground cut power to the building.

The soldiers entered the hallway. A rebel was bent, rubbing his eyes. His sight came back quickly and he pointed his weapon at the Orbathian troops. Quickly, they placed an MP5 round into his head. They could hear much more movement downstairs. The soldiers continued down the hallway, entering each room and clearing it before moving on down the hallway. This was the Orbathian troops worst fear. It meant that they had to be extremely careful.

The soldiers below continued breaking windows and lobbing teargas canisters in. The soldiers on the rooftop, especially the snipers, fire don any rebel that came near a window.

The soldiers cleared the top floor. There had only been a few rebels and they had been easily dispatched. It was time for troops to employ a different tactic. Each soldier pulled a gas mask from his pouch and put it on. Things were getting heavy. A group of twenty soldiers headed for the door at the end of the hall. The other twenty smashed windows on the east and west sides of the building. They hook up ropes to their floor and repelled down, smashing through the windows of the floor below. The soldiers landed in their rooms and quickly cleared them. The rebels were so shocked that they had no time to react before they were killed. The troops upstairs at the door blew it off its hinges, tossed a flashbang and climbed down the stairs to the next floor. They did the same as before, tossing in flashbangs and storming into the hallway, weapons aimed and ready to go. There were more rebels in this hallway but they were killed easily, due to being ambushed. Hostages on this floor were rescued and escorted upstairs. They were loaded into a Blackhawk which touched down on the roof. The soldiers continued their tactic, fighting down the floors. Finally they came to the last floor, the best defended. The soldiers regrouped, two groups of ten would breach the doors. The troops on the streets faked an attack, hoping to distract the rebels. The doors to the floor were blasted away and troops threw flashbangs and entered.

The air was smoky, tear gas wafted throughout the floor. The soldiers began opening fire on rebel troops who had covered their mouth and nose with shirts or bandanas. Quickly, Orbathain troops sweeped through the hall and into the rooms. The hostages were rescued and escorted onto Blackhawks. The Blackhawks took them to the edge of the city, where friendly forces were located. The Blackhawks then came back and brought the Orbathians back to their base.

Yanitaria (capitol), Presidential Palace, 1600 Hours:

President Mattias Norheim, in the presidential news studio, gave a live speech, granting Amnesty to all rebels who would surrender, and give intelligence to the commanding officers of the units that captured them.

That night 200,000 rebels all over surrendered, but the rest continued fighting. However it was a major blow to their moral.

After the initial surge of surrenders, Citizen Norheim gave the order that all rebels left were to be executed, except for officers who would be tried for treason.

Yanitaria (Capitol), Voltair National Stadium, 1800 hours the next day:

Four Leopard II tanks, and 2 Leclerc's with bulldozer attachments moved towards the stadium doors.

An RPG slid off the slopped armour of on of the Leclercs, and the firer was promptly shot.

Yanitarian and Angaoran infantry loaded into CV 90's facing outwards from the stadium waited.

The Leclerc's bashed through the doors as a shadow floated over them.

The shadow was the stadium's blimp. From 1 mile in the air, out of range of most of the rebel weapons, snipers rained .50 cal rounds down on them. They aimed mostly for the men with rockets, and soon anyone stupid enough to be in the open were shot.

The Leclercs pulled out, and the Leopard II's moved in, and suppressed the rebels. The CV 90's drove backwards, two at a time, unloaded their payload of troops, and left. This was done to make sure that no stray rounds or bullets from a brave terrorist would hit anyone. It also left the soldiers fresh once they were on the battle field.

The soldiers rushed up into the stands, shooting anyone who didn't look important. Rebels, out of desperation, fired back, but only scored a few hits before being mowed down.

From the blimps, hundreds of tear gas grenade shot from launchers now started pouring down. The Yanitarian and Angaoran troops, wearing gasmasks, continued fighting as the enemy choaked and sputtered.

Finally, the troops surrounded the Owner's Box, and with a quick stinger non-lethal grenade, they stormed it, capturing the chief financier of the rebel forces. Among the other captured was a general, and two colonels. All four prisoners, plus their officers were led to a truck, bound for Yanitarian Prisons.

Mountains, East of Fort Sussex:
Meanwhile, things were going about as great for the paratroopers. They had established a parimeter 1 km around the camp o nthe first day, and shot any patrols that came near. On the second day, the enemy stopped sending out patrols and started sending out tanks. Surprisingly enough the rebels had brute forced 3 tanks onto the mountain. Air strike had destroyed two, and one was driven into a deep trench.

Realizing that the enemy had more surprises, Major General Baker had requested a 24/7 sorties on the base, and doubled the amount of planes assigned to the area.

The planes mostly dropped anti-personelle cluster bombs, which devastated the enemy, until the survivors had dug in even more.

In reponse, Baker ordered a Tu-160 to drop a full payload on the area. In order to possibly catch some prisoners, they had loud speakers set up telling the base of it's impending doom.

A group of enemy rebels, about 500, surrendered, and were taken into custody. Among them came a surprise. Dressed as a Captain, and with a bloody, self inflicted gash across his face covered in bandages, he tried to sneak through to saftey.

Soldiers did not recognize him at first until an Angaoran officer checked his wounds.

With the capture of so many important leaders of the rebel forces, the rebels days were numbered.

Yanitarian and Allied Forces spent the next few days mopping up the last resistance and taking in prisoners for trial, except in New Leeds and Edgeborough were they were shot on sight.

It seemed that the war was over. Citizen Norheim personally extended his gratitude to the nations that had aided Yanitaria, and had ordered the plans for the veterans memorial.

Finally, it seemed that the nation could begin rebuilding.

Point Harbour, Yanitaria, 1200 hours

The war was finally over. After statisticians calculated the damages, they compiled a list of all casualties sustained during the war. However, due to time constraints, no names were generated for public use, though a massive memorial cave was dug out of the Field of Pyotr, where nuclear missile hits pockmarked the terrain. Inside that cave were over two hundred thousand names of men, women, and children who died during the Yanitarian Civil War.

Over 180,000 Stoklomolvi Imperial Guardsmen were killed in action on Yanitarian soil. 20,000 more were killed from battle-sustained wounds, while 10,000 were declared missing. 24,000 civilians were marked as either killed or missing in the city of Moskuvy, Stoklomolvi. Supplies were to be sent to the Yanitarians for a national rebuilding project, and money was to be donated to the war memorial fund. The war was won, but not without a price.

The remaining soldiers board gargantuan container ships for transport back to Port Stoklomolvi, Stoklomolvi.
