Tirith, Capitol of the Anirtakian Realm

Prime Minister Syl Johnston annouced today that our Queen, Anirtak, passed away in her sleep at the age of 75.
Anirtak assumed the throne over 50 years ago upon the death of her mother, Queen Victoria IV. Anirtak is widely credited with bringing the realm into the modern era and maintaining peace by limited involvment in international affairs. The Queen had been suffering bouts of depression since the premature death of her grandson, Prince Robert of Aschenhyrst, and doctors believe it may have been a contributing factor to her death.

Anirtak is survived by one daughter; Katrina,Queen of Aschenhyrst.
Three Grandsons; Prince John, Prince William and Prince Edward of Aschenhyrst.
One Granddaughter; Princess Anne of Aschenhyrst.

State Funeral services will be held at the Priory of Tirith in three days. The Anirtakian Governing Council is to meet later today to discuss the rites of sucession. They will be debating Katrina`s claim to the throne. If Katrina is able to complete the rites, she would become the first Anirtakian Monarch to be living abroad.

The Royal Family and the people of Aschenhyrst send condolenses to the Anirtakian realm over the loss of Queen Anirtak. The Royal Family will attend the state funeral and the rites of sucession. The Anirtakian people are in our thoughts and prayers. May your sorrows soon end.
Katrina, Queen of the Aschenhyrst Dominion.

The Anirtakian Governing council deliberated today over the Rite of Sucession. Much discussion was placed on the fact that the Anirtakian monarch had always resided in the realm. It was noted that Katrina, heir to the Anirtakian throne, was indeed a native Anirtakian and although she no longer resided within the realm was the rightful heir. The council agreed to her claim and found that Katrina, Queen of the Aschenhyrst Dominion would suceed her mother onto the throne of Anirtak. The council then discussed whether or not the realm could still be considered an independent nation if it`s leader were in power in another land. An Aide of Katrina informed the council that, although Katrina was considered Queen in Aschenhyrst she was unable to assend the throne there as it would pass to her eldest son. The aide also informed the council that the Aschenhyrst parliment had addressed this issue some time ago and had a offer for the Anirtakians: creating a dula-monarchy, the Realm would become an autonomous protectorate of the Dominion. The Realm would maintain its sovereignty and isolation, but its monarch would be a part of the Aschenhyrst Dominion. The Dominion would handle the foreign affairs of the Realm and the Realm would handle its domestic ones. The Realm would not be obligated to take up arms if Aschenhyrst went to war but it could not take up arms with Aschenhyrst`s enemies. They would become an independent queendom within the Dominion, all that was required was that Anirtakian`s would recognize both the queen and the king as their sovereigns. The council went into closed session to discuss the proposal and act upon it.

Almost all of the Aschenhyrst Royal Family returned home after the funeral of Queen Anirtak, all except Queen Katrina of Aschenhyrst. She was staying behind, waiting on the the Anirtakian Governing Council to decide on the offer of her husbands nation. Would the Anirtakians become an autonomous queendom within the Dominion or would they reject the offer and her rite of assention? Only the Anirtakians knew the answer. The Queen waited for a reply.

The Act of Union

The Governing Council of Anirtakia, acting in what it percieves to be in the best interest of the Anirtakian Nation, seek union with the Sovereign Imperial Dominion of Aschenhyrst.

The Governing Council approves the rite of sucession of Katrina, daughter of our late Queen Anirtak. She shall be known henceforth as Katrina III, Queen of Anirtak.

Whereas, the heir to our throne is a member of the Aschenhyrst Royalty. Our nations have been linked culturaly and by blood. Our sovereign will in all likelyhood be residing outside the Realm.

The Governing Council, in its infinate wisdom, has reviewed and accepted the offer of the Aschenhyrst Dominion to become an Autonomous Protectorate Queendom within the Greater Dominion.

The Anirtakian Nation shall recognize both the Queen of Anirtak and the King of Aschenhyrst as our national Sovereigns.

Through Autonomy, the Anirtakians shall keep their form of government and national identity. Anirtakians will be responsible for their own defense and internal affairs. Anirtakian military forces will not be conscripts for the Dominion military but a separate and equal force, whose primary duty id the protection of the Anirtakian Nation.

The Aschenhyrst Dominion will take over foreign affairs for the Realm and help provide defense for it. Aschenhyrst will respect Anirtakian law and tradition. Aschenhyrst law and taxation shall not apply to the Anirtakian Nation.

This Union may be dissolved only after the death of Queen Katrina, upon the confirmation of her sucessor if she so chooses.

This Act shall become law upon the approval of the Aschenhyrst Dominion.

Act of Union between Anirtak and Aschenhyrst

Upon review of the Anirtakian proposal, the Aschenhyrst Dominion agrees to and accepts the terms provided for in the Anirtakian 'Act of Union'.
From this day forward Anirtak shall be known as The Aschenhyrst Autonomous Queendom of Anirtak.
