No new sign ups please!

Ok. This will be (loosely) based on the book by HG.Wells. It doesn't matter if you haven't read the book, seen the movie etc. What I need are 4 nations. Here are the Ground rules: -

1. Your nation must be based on 'Earth'. It can be a real-life nation (like America, china, the UK...) or your NS nation (please provide with a brief overview of your nations geography) it's not important, as long as it is based on Earth.

2. This RP will take place in a 'alternative universe'. Basically this RP will not affect any future RPs so your nation will not be ruled by martians if you lose :D

3. Please do not use Nukes. For obvious reasons.

4. You may communicate with each other and help each other out, if you wish.

5. Do not attack the martians as they land. You don't know their intentions...yet ;)

6. If you wish to drop out of the RP, please tell me. I don't want to be sitting around for months waiting for a post.

my country is located in indonesia (duh) but also controls the rest of new guenea. My capital is located in an underwater city-Kota Laut.

I'd prefer if it wasn't Entirely underwater, but welcome on board.

If I may ask a question:

What era will this be in? End of the 19th Century (when Wells' original book was set for those wondering), or modern?

And please, please tell me we are not using the Tom Cruise mess as canon for the Martians. If we're not, count me in as Canada.

Canada is already claimed. That's a large area of the 'Earth' you have claimed, but I guess that's ok
