OOC: Yes, you read it right. I have a member of the nobility, who is looking for a spouse... but he is gay and wants a husband. Just to add an interesting twist. I intend this to be a character RP, though relevant comments also welcome. Keep it clean and have fun. ;) [/OOC]

To the world’s nobility: The Duke of Fiano is looking for a nobleman to marry and be his partner for the rest of his life. Everyone eligible is welcome to visit the Duke in his castle, though sending a message first would be advisable.

The Duke of Fiano, His Majesty King Kyle II (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Kyle_II_of_Brutland_and_Norden)’s uncle and the late King Adam IV’s younger brother, is sixth in line to the Nord-Brutlandese throne, but not a direct line successor.

“I am aware of my sexuality for a long time,” said the Duke. “And now I decided to tell it all. I am gay.”

Bio: Duke Mario was the fifth, and last, child of King Simon IV of Brutland and Norden and Queen Patricia, Countess of Imperio. He was an athletic, well-behaved, intelligent prince, albeit a bit shy and reserved. He graduated from the Royal University of Brutland and Norden with a triple major on Political Science, Agriculture, and Biology.

He occupied the Castle at the grant of Fiano soon after college, and he started working on the monarchy’s landholdings on the grant, developing the area’s agriculture. However, he was known to avoid the public eye, coming out only on official business. But most of his public interaction comes when he attends church, and he is very popular among the people of Fiano (he is also the ceremonial leader of the Grant Council of Fiano). The intensely religious Duke regularly attends church at the San Trinitario Catholic Church in the city of Custrofiano.

Despite his religiosity, the Duke had been rumored to be gay. When he was twenty and attending university, a rumor broke out that he had a relationship with another male classmate. Since then, he had been linked to numerous men, including famous celebrity gay buff Sandro Maschetti, but nothing had been proved.

The Duke does not deem his religiosity and homosexuality to be contradictory. However, he wishes to have a partner for life, and would like to settle with him in his abode in Fiano.

Duke Mario was in his tomato patch, diligently watering his plants atop a small hill. The plants are beginning to bloom, and he was particularly attracted to one early flower that had opened its petals and exposed itself to the world. He touched it gingerly, smiling at the thought of flowers. And perhaps some tasty tomatoes. Perhaps he can send his nephew the King some of his delicious risotto alla Fiana, he heard that Kyle had been having fun at the military academy –

“Good morning, Your Highness.”
Duke Mario turned to the direction of the voice. It was his butler and caretaker of his rural Sarcello Castle.
“Good morning to you to, Pierro. What seems to be the matter?”
His sixty-year-old butler gave him that morning’s newspaper. Of course, it was pretty obvious what the headline was.
“I know about the Duchess of Fiorgamino. My aunt is particularly strict,” he told him.
“But the Duchess of Campedusa and the Grant Council of Fiano – ”
“Ah yes,” he interrupted Pierro. “I know they will support me. I have talked to them beforehand,” the Duke said with a smile, remembering Duchess Samantha, the sibling he is closest to. “Has anybody answered?”

“We have not received anything yet.”
An appreciable expression of sadness crossed the Duke’s face.
“Perhaps there would be someone who will answer,” Pierro assured him. “Just give it some time.”
“I hope.” He said, heaving a heavy sigh. He looked towards the direction of the Glozone River and the city of Formagnole. He wondered if his soulmate is really out there, somewhere in the world…

“By the way, Your Highness, Father Falcone is waiting for you.”
He shot a glance at his butler. “Thanks, Pierro, I will be coming by shortly.” The kind and elderly parish priest of the small village of Sant’Angelo al Fiano is his spiritual adviser, even though he goes to church in the big grant capital of Custrofiano. Father Falcone’s small chapel was the nearest to his castle, and it was the chapel he frequents when he is in Sarcello. He looks forward to the thought of having the soft-spoken man of the cloak give him advice, especially now, after he had made a big decision of his life.

Duke Mario's conversation with Father Falcone that morning was just like one of the usual. Though its had been a very good conversation, Father Falcone could not hide his disappointment at his decision. But he said, though, that matters are between Duke Mario and God now; and that he is still welcome in the Catholic community.

The Duke had just finished receiving a call from Grant President Simona Dageschietti, and he was going back to his already boiling rice for that dinner's risotto alla Fiana when Pierro came to him.

"Your Highness, we have received something," Pierro said, handing him the telegram from The Theocracy of the Beatus.

Duke Mario read it silently but excitedly, and then broke into a smile. "Lord Logan Listless of Höfn is coming. Quick, we must prepare!"

"Yes, Your Highness," Pierro then left to oversee the preparations as the Duke went back to cooking his risotto and sumptuous meals for his visitor.

The small plane landed at the airport. It taxied to a parking stand and the door opened.

The Duke's butler Pierro waited on the terminal for the arrival of Lord Höfn. He would be accompanying him to Sarcello Castle, where the Duke is waiting and preparing for Lord Höfn's arrival. Pierro noticed the small plane and knew that their visitor had arrived...
