Vetalia
13-10-2007, 21:48
Environment: Vetalia's environment is exceptionally clean and well-maintained thanks to our advanced economy and focus on sectors with reduced environmental impact. The rich tropical environment is a source of significant biodiversity and many discoveries continue to be made as the jungle and its inhabitants are further probed by scientists.

Climate: Very warm and humid year round. Generally tropical, with drier, more savanna-like conditions further north. For three months in the winter, the monsoon soaks the southern coast with heavy rains and cloudy weather abounds.

Heritage/Culture: Vetalia is an old, extremely wealthy country that has a culture focused on business, trade, and the art of the deal. We place significant emphasis on material wealth and status and are often seen as greedy as a result. In addition, we are not known for being particularly brave or ambitious outside of our business environment, so we're also seen as exceptionally prudent (or cowardly) when it comes to other decisions. Our culture is staunchly meritocratic when it comes to business and the workplace, and nepotism and unjustified favoritism are severely distasteful to our citizens.

Interesting sports: Vetalians tend to be game-players as opposed to athletes, as strategic thinking is indispensable for success in business and negotiation. However, physical health is valued and exercise of various forms is popular. Games like go, chess, and various indigenous games are popular, including a hybrid dice-rolling and trading game that mimics a financial market and which has been played for at least 1,000 years. The most popular sports tend to be water-based, especially swimming competitions, as the hot climate makes it more difficult to engage in physical activity outdoors.
Monuments/Wonders:

http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Image:CityCenter.jpg

The cities of Vetalia are wonders in themselves, boasting opulent and refined architecture, aesthetics, and infrastructure, especially the wealthiest and largest of all, Vetalia City. Monuments include the Vetalian Combined Stock Exchange headquarters, the Chamber of Commerce building complex, the Praetorial Palace, and a wide variety of theaters, libraries, parks, gardens, and other cultural institutions.

Tourist facilities: Anything a tourist wishes to do or see at any price range is likely available.

Decent hotels/accomodation: Vetalian hotels are some of the most luxurious in the world, boasting the finest accommodations and impeccable services. In the best hotels, more amenities are available than virtually any others in the world, and even budget hotels are clean, comfortable and well-maintained.

Depending on the financial situation of your company, we may be able to recommend specifics. However, like most things in our

Restaurants/other eateries: Again, Vetalian restaurants are some of the best (and most expensive) in the world and cater to virtually all cuisines, both present and past. Your company will be able to select from a variety of price ranges and many restaurants also provide catering services if booked in advance.

Amusement parks: Vetalia has a number of amusement parks, although they tend to be located more in the northern part of the country because the monsoon season cuts off a significant part of their operating year in the south.

Able to understand either English and/or Italian:

Almost all Vetalians are bilingual, speaking Russian, English, or Venetic. Italian speakers may be able to understand a significant amount of the Venetic language, although it would be limited.

A mutual embassy: If you wish, feel free to construct one according to your own guidelines.

Kiravian Empire

Permissum Astrum Subleuco

Imperial Secriat of Commerce

Tourism Office

We have several sites that we reccomend. THe first is the Alåvora Colony's island of Asåvik.

Environment: The island is covered in beautiful, pristine taiga, with many waterfalls, large rocks, and other objects of natural beauty, all protected by the colonia government.

Climate: Subarctic, probably not too attractive to snivelly tourists, but it should bolster the local Coat Retail Sector, eh?

Heritage/Culture Asåvik has Alfegosian, Vetalian, Vantanian, Kuronan, and other foriegners living on the island, supplementing an already rich local Kiravian culture based on the Dardev ethnic groups.

Interesting sports Ice Surfing. Need we say more?

Monuments/Wonders There is a monument to the Kiravians slain in the battle to defend the island from Mancen invaders.

Tourist facilities THere are several in New Petrovorsk and Taigashore.

Decent hotels/accomodation Hotels are the Kiravian Empire's forté. YOu can find 3 star hotels in mot of the cities, and there is a luxury 5-star motel in Snowspruce.

Restaurants/other eateries: Food from many nations in the foriegn settlements. Good Kiravian food as well. Coffee shops are located in nearly every community.

Amusement parks: These things don't exist in the Empire. Sorry.

Able to understand either English and/or Italian (my money's on English - wonder why...) Nearly all native speakers of our language family, Coscivian, are inherantly fluent in English. I think that an Italian-speakign nation has a colony here, too.

A mutual embassy Yes.
Not at war (this isn't a problem yet) Nope, not at war.

Open Communique
Dear Ms. Knot,
We are interested in having the resort city of Bliss included in the ports of call for your cruise line. It is on the northern shore of the Mephrasian landmass, and has been drawing Mephrasian tourists for the past century.

Environment: The environment is lush and forested, although the city is urban
Climate: Mediterranean
Heritage/Culture: The city used to be the exclusive resort city of the communist elites, now it is a major tourist hub. Known for it's beautiful Mediterranean style architecture and numerous fountains and parks. Transportation from the center leads to various small islands that offer tourist activities.
Interesting sports: Nothing out of the ordinary, although surfing, polo, and para gliding are popular in the area. Almost all sports are available.
Monuments/Wonders: The Meddatero Opera House is one of the largest and most ornate within the Empire, hosting various cultural events throughout the year. The Blort House holds arguably the finest collection of post modern art in the region of Nova. Aquaa, in the entertainment district, is renowned as the most exclusive and one of the largest night clubs in the country. It is not uncommon to spot celebrities there on any given night.
Tourist facilities: The city was built with tourists in mind, having various forms of transportation, duty free shops, and a renowned nightlife
Decent hotels/accomodation: various communist era hotels have been renovated, along with private rental villas and even small personal islands are up for rent. Newer cheaper options have also been constructed in recent years.
Restaurants/other eateries: Large amounts of restaurants exist catering to various tastes. Local cuisine is heavily sea based, although almost any cuisine can be found in the city.
Amusement parks: None
Able to understand either English and/or Italian: The local populace speaks French, although most speak fluent English as well. There should be no problems with communication.

A mutual embassy: Yes.

We hope you will consider our city as a destination.

Thanks,
Alula Josett

To the rest, I will need to work out your positioning to be able to allocate a suitable stop time.

Could you say in which direction and how far you are either from Alfegos, Pinguinum or Mephras.

Kirav, I'm sure the government will be happy that our Pinguinians can indulge in their allies culure. Don't worry about the amusement parks. It's so our customers know what to expect.
Kirav
14-10-2007, 00:22
Excellent. We actually find it quite strange that we don't have amusement parks. It seems to have been simply overlooked by Kiravian culture.

Anyways, thank you very much for considering our destination. You may want to take into account that this very northerly island is an excellent resupply port for cruises to the Arctic.

Environment: The city of Port Royal is divided into 2 parts, one is on a sunken island, which is the main port, and the other is on the land.
Climate: Mediterranean to Cool
Heritage/Culture: Once a ancient port on an island, the city of Port Royal sunk under the waves. In the 11 century, the people buit the city from under the sea up, ontop of the sunken island, making roads, canals. Restaurants/other eateries: Restaraunts in Port Royal serve several different kinds of foods, and are mostly sit down. A wide portion of them resemble sidewalk cafes.
Amusement parks: None exist in Port Royal for safety reasons
Ablity to understand either English and/or Italian: Citizens speak several, including English, Italian, French, Dutch, and Swiss
