For the past eleven years, Jemtia has been at a state of civil war, which still shows no sign of stopping. Neither of the participants are prepared to lay down arms and find a peaceful solution as they all seek supreme power over Jemtia. The current rule of Jemtia is disturbed, and no faction can longer call themselves rulers.

There are several reasons to get involved in Jemtia, for one the iron ore, or the gratitude the victor will show those who have helped, or because it is just the right thing to do.

Factions
Royal Jemtia: The remains of the Jemtia Royal family and their loyalists make up the faction of Royal Jemtia, they have been the monarchs of Jemtia for several generations and have no desire to let that power slip out of their hands now. They have what can be called a regular army under their command.

Jemtian Democratic Liberation Front (JDLF): The majority of the people who have lived under the monarch rule and have now taken up arms to install a democracy. The JDLF have numbers on their side, drawing recruits from all the social classes, but lack training and weapons to take the fight to the Royal Jemtia for real. According to propaganda, the JDLF will hold an election as soon as they can after taking care of the other participants. Currently they fight a guerilla war.

Jemtian Peoples Army (JPA): Many of the lower classes had a hard time under the rule of the monarchs, and those who have not joined the JDLF decided to take things into their own hands. The JPA intends to make Jemtia a communist nation, where no-one will be above the other. The JPA are in a simillar situation to the JDLF, but the two are sworn enemies.

Karl's Word: Based on the ancient Jemtian saint of Karl, who once united Jemtia, according to legend. Karl's Word are a militant religious faction, who, although lacking in training and equipment, are dedicated enough to pose a threat to the other factions. They are, however, the faction with the least influence.

Geography
Jemtia is mainly forest, with the capitol of Osterborg pretty much in the middle of the country, which is one of the regions not covered in forest. Osterborg is currently under Royal Jemtian rule, but the JDLF are lurking in region.
To the far east lies the port town of Callstad, where Karl's Word and JPA are fighting over control of the town. The JPA have claimed most of the eastern coast, and have manned the coastal defences, in case the Royal Jemtian decides to attack by sea. What little of the coast that is not JPA is held by Karl's Word.
To the north lies most of Jemtias rich iron mines and the town of Karlsborg, which is contested by all four factions, since Karlsborg is essential for transporting and refining the iron ore from the mines. The northern part is the only place where all four factions are involved in bitter fighting for the mines.

The JDLF are spread out across the entire nation, fighting their guerilla war. The Royal Jemtian are heavily entrenched in the capitol of Osterborg, but also have forces searching the forests for JDLF forces, in first hand.
Karl's Word are concentrated in the north, Callstad and the eastern shore.
JPA are much like JDLF, scattered across the nation, however not to the same amount of the JDLF.


9th November, 1100 hours, Karlsborg
The sound of gunfire and shouts of men rang down the streets as Jonas tried to make himself as small as possible behind the slab of concrete he had taken cover behind. Furhter down the street sat a Royal squad with their machine gun keeping Jonas and his comrades pinned down.

Firing his scavanged AK6 assault rifle blind over the concrete Jonas spotted a set of crates being airdropped over the city. They were supplies to the Royals, but the lines were evershifting, and to get something on spoy was next to impossible.

Jonas and his comrades hurried towards the drop zone, knowing that all who had seen the airdrop would be racing towards it.

OOC: You fail. There is no way you could have that many troops. Lets assume each legion had the small number of 1000 and included enough support troops to work.

In that case you just deployed 30,000 troops on an expedition which should be a small force. Not to mention the fact that each tank requires at least 3 men to man and any armored unit is half or so mechanics. That would mean that you have more tank men (36,000) than infantry. Adding in the supply personal since you just said thanks plus your troops you come up with 102,000,000 assuming a small legion size and that they are miraculously supported. Also as you are a nation of 40,000,000 that would mean about a quarter percent of your nation is fighting in a foreign war. Also considering your transport that "fleet" would probably be a shit load of ships. By the way you do realize that your army is probably bigger than your navy and you don't have enough ships in your navy to transports all your troops if you used every single one. You also have no resources because you spent 10% of your national budget on just an aid pack. Now I'm not the calculators and I don't like them but at least try and keep somewhat within their range.

So in short if everything you did so far is true than you will be ignored because it is impossible without your already only modest economy imploding.

The civil war is the result of a long time of unrest among the poeple of Jemtia, and many feel that the monarchy has done a poor job caring for the country and its people. The Democratic Liberation Front have tried to overthrow the family in a number of ways, including peacefull demonstations, a failed coup, and have now resorted to civil war. The faction of Karl's Word feel that the rule of Jemtia belongs to the descendants of Karl himself, and are indeed the ones who sparked the civil war with an attempt at the life of his higness, Magnus XXI.



Karlsborg, 1600 hours

Jonas stepped into the basement, only lit by a lantern, haning from the roof. At the centre of the single room stood a table, and a trio of men surrounded it, all wearing the JDLF insignia on their shoulders.

"Jonas, good to see you're still alive," said one of the men and smiled, "Did you get the airdrop."

Jonas shook his head, "No, JPA beat us to it, came there and they were busy fighting the Word over it."

"Well," said the man, "That doesn't matter now, we've just got financial support, and we're gonna use it. You will take the best sixty men you have and take the mining complex just northeast of here."

Jonas was surprised, "But the JPA and Royals are fighting it out there."

"I know," said the man, "But we really need that complex. Get to it, Jonas."

"Right," said Jonas and headed back out.

On the street he was greeted by falling snowflakes, giving the scene of a bombed street and the JDLF fighters an idyllic touch. From the city centre he could hear gunfire, but it seemed so distant that it didn't bother him. He had fought this war since he was sixteen, since the Word had killed his parents, for eleven long years. It had to end, one way or the others.

With that thought he headed down the street, AK6 resting on his shoulder, his mind focused on who to pick for the assignment.

It is well within our military budget of $257 billion at the current time and we can supply further aid if neccessary. Also the manufacturing costs of The HutKat class are a lot less than the selling price.

OOC: It doesn't matter where you get your soldiers, and you're not the only one to use slaves as fighters, but you still have to support them. (Unless you deploy them with no food, ammunition, or weapons. By the way - that's a bad idea.)

Each soldier, no matter what kind of soldier he is, requires a support network to keep him un-dead. So, for smaller nations, the armies are smaller, and for larger nations, they are larger.

Northeast of Karlsborg, 10th November, 1120 hours

Jonas lay in the newly fallen snow, his eyes on the mining complex ahead. There were a few Royal soldiers patroling the area, and from further within the sound of gunfire told him that the complex was still contested. All the better, Jonas thought to himself.

"Here's the plan," he turned around and said, "Hanna, you take half the men and go on their right flank, I'll take the rest and hit them from here."

Hanna nodded before she dissapeared into the forest, nine of the JDLF fighters on her heel.

Jonas and his troops laid down and waited, rifles trained at the Royals ahead, until Hanna began her assault.

As soon as Jonas spotted her and her troops charging he opened fire, the rest of the JDLF fighters following suit.

Callstad, 10th November, 1040 hours

Hans weighed the rifle in his hands, it was light, even with a full magazine. He put the stock to his shoulder and aimed at a crate further down the pier. Satisfied that it was as good as the Black Bears had told him he slung it over his shoulder and turned around to see Niclas coming towards him.

"Comrade, what can I do for you?"

"That, comrade, is what I am here for," replied Niclas, "You will take your platoon and attack the Word, we will drive them away from here."

"Of course, comrade," replied Hans hand hurried away towards his platoon, finally a chance to take the fight to the enemies, and not sit around waiting for them.

Osterborg, 10th November, 0900 hours

Magnus looked at the shipment of weapons and tanks sent by Rouge Protoss, togheter with what Katislov had sent, it would be enough.

"Commander," he said, "You have your orders, now go, and clear Callstad once and for all."

"Of course, you highness," replied the Commander and shouted an order, shortly after the armoured columm rolled down the road.

Dear Sir,

With some concerns, we have been watching the situation in your nation develop. After internal discussion within the Ministry of Defence, and talks with both Premier Nicolas Hirtz and Grand Duke Koen van Luxemburg, we have decided to send a small taskforce (referred to as Jemtian Stabilisation Force, JESTAFOR) that will assist in stabilising the situation in your nation. Currently, the Ministry of Defence has agreed to support a mission counting some 64 active soldiers. The actual mission will be around 100 people large, including both supply personnel and miscellaneous functions. We have not brought too much supply personnel, in the hope your military can supply our small force aswell. We can however act as a self-sufficient force within the organisation of your faction, and prefer to work together with your military, instead of being part of it.

As stated before, the troop that JESTAFOR consists of, 64 actual soldiers, will be armed according their functions, belonging to the 25th Mechanised Brigade of the Grand-Ducal Army (ground component). They have already taken delivery of some new vehicles recently, and will be flown in by military transport aircraft to Osterborg as quickly as possible. Their mission would be to provide a safe and stable capital city, and could possibly include patrols outside of the city.

For the time being, I, Colonel Armando Bruno, will be the diplomatic mission to Jemtia, while also being the commander of JESTAFOR. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mifoa) has not deemed Jemtia safe enough to place an embassy in Osterborg.

Their vehicle inventory consists of a total of 10 vehicles, all of the M6 type. We have taken the liberty of supplying a short summary of the vehicles sent to Jemtia. Specifications can be found in the attached folder (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13005158&postcount=1)

The Holy Empress Jennifer the 2nd has expressed disfavor at the followers of Karl's Word and would like to offer some small token in exchange for suitable reprisals against the followers of this religion, as a precursor to opening of diplomatic talks. Please consider this force a show of goodwill.

So that these fanatics can be dealt with swiftly, and prevent them from gaining a hold on your people, a small force of 1500 men will be sent to your aid. These will include our elite special strike-force of Ninja Kittens, named so after our national animal, to deal with the leaders of this group.

Needless to say, they can be directed towards other opponents of your rule after Karl's Word has been eliminated as a power.

Breaking News in Jemita
This just in:
In a shocking turn of events, the leader of the radical religious group Karl's Word has been killed in a sudden night raid by forces believed to be under the command of the Royal Jemitian Family.

Reports say that it was a small squad of highly trained commandos who came "out of nowhere", killed the leader in the middle of his camp, before vanishing again. The military is saying none of their units committed this action, although rumors say that foreign troops may have been used for this strike.

It is unknown at this time what reaction the death of their leader will have on their followers, or what the other insurgents will do once they realise how suddenly one of their number was removed from the war.

Venezia, Fabricca Automobili Monteluci

The sun slowly rose above the old factory that was part of the Monteluci facilities in and around the city of Venezia. Producing all kinds of vehicles, this however was the place that accommodated the assembly of the M6, the latest new vehicle in the Vun Lëtzebuerger Arméi. Therefore, security was increased around the building, wher eone could often see armed guards walking around, which was unusual for a regular automobile factory, especially in Van Luxemburg, where most people still were convinced that terrorists or enemies didn't pose a threat to their nation.

But here, troops of the Grand-Ducal Marechaussee guarded the main gate, clamping their Heckler and Koch submachineguns closely to their body, while a deserted, but locked, M6a had been parked on a comfortable position near the gate, so it could immediately blockade it in case of emergency. Even though the troops seemed to be calm, the second line of defence would be a range of cameras and other electronic guard options, overseeing the whole building. Inside the factory, security was only light, with some Marechaussees being seated in a small coffee room near the main gate.

On the waterside, the sun slowly rose above the city and glanced off some 10 objects standing packaged and ready on the cobblestones. These were the last few vehicles that had been ordered by the Arméi, and now ready for delivery. Mechanics secured the last vehicle on the air-transportable platforms before sticking a paper on each vehicles hood, and distributing all guides and instruction booklets in the vehicles. A few metres from that, troops of the 56th Grand-Ducal Transport Regiment, based in Arvaglio, stood talking in groups, chatting about anything and everything. Amidst of the support troops, soldiers of the 25th Mechanised Brigade 'Pontresina' walked around, loading other equipment onto VLT M5 trucks from 56 Transreg. These vehicles, aswell as a coach owned by the brigade itself, would transport the soldiers to Lepanto airport, connecting Venezia to the world. There, several transport aircraft of the Air Force would be awaiting them, in order to fly them towards Collstad, where they would be offloaded and put into action.

'Okay, the aircraft want to leave in one hour, we need to get these vehicles loaded onto the trucks and get them delivered, immediately.' Colonel Bruno shouted across the dockside, while troops got back to work after the mechanics had finished their work. The loading crane was started, and the vehicles were lifted onto the trucks one by one, after which the trucks drove off, escorted by motorbikes and police vehicles operated by the Marechaussee. The mission was about to begin.

JEMTIA CLASHES BETWEEN ROYALISTS AND DEMOCRATIC REBELS IN COLLSTAD REGION

Colstream Satellites monitoring the Collstad region in Jemtia has seen clashes between the Royal Jemtia Army and the Democratic Liberation Front. There has been several brutal attacks by the Democratic Liberation Front which are being held at the moment. The Jemtian Peoples Army have not been involved in the fighting yet but there has been signs of them taking advantage of these clashes to attack somewhere else in Jemtia. The Karls Army faction, devastated by their leaders assasination, has not been in fighting for several days meaning that the Royal Jemtia Army facing them has had little or no action. The situation there is still very unstable and the balance could shift at any moment. More updates will be given as more news comes in.
