From:The Calizorinstanian Air Force

We are sending out a RFP for a new COIN aircraft to replace our old aging A-37C "Sparrowhawk" upgraded A-37 fleet, whomever is selected will win a 50+ aircraft order. It needs to work well in an all weather environment, and most importantly be able to have low maintenance. It also must have a range of 500+ miles and good fuel endurance for long range COIN missions.

Sincerely,

General Ryan

Sequoia Aerospace Systems official sales solicitation

Sir,

In response to you Request for Proposal for a new counter-insurgency aircraft, Sequoia Aerospace Systems LLC makes the following proposal to the Calizorinstanian Air Force to supply fifty (50) A-20 "Renegade" close air support/forward air control aircraft for a total contract value of 600 million US dollars. Sequoia Aerospace Systems LLC will also agree to offer the Calizorinstanian Air Force option rights for additional orders.

The A-20 "Renegade" is an all-weather, day/night capable, robust ground attack aircraft with long loiter endurance and high survivability against enemy ground fire. The A-20 is in full operational service with both the Aerospace Forces and Expeditionary Forces of the Etoile Arcture Defence Forces, and has been successfully deployed during recent crisis's in North Alestra and Alfegos.

Full specifications for the A-20 "Renegade" are enclosed below.

DESCRIPTION
The A-20/OA-20 “Renegade” is single-seat, twin-engine, pusher prop attack and observation aircraft designed for close support of ground forces in low intensity conflicts, designating ground targets for attack by friendly aircraft and artillery, and escorting special forces insertion aircraft. The A-20 is designed for low speed/low altitude operations, being highly manoeuvrable in all modes of flight, a low noise signature for stealthy battlefield surveillance, and highly survivable against enemy ground fire. Avionics are robust and redundant, with recent upgrades supporting employment of GPS guided weapons and jam-resistant real-time datalinks for coordination of defensive and offensive unmanned air vehicles. The A-20 features a low-observable airframe, extensive armouring, self-sealing fuel tanks and multiply-redundant systems. It has a pusher-prop configuration, being powered by two turboshaft engines driving 6x5 bladed contra-rotating composite propellers to the rear of the tail unit that has three tail fins arranged in a Y-shape configuration. This affords a single engine failure return to base capability, with the uneven blade numbers reducing noise to single propeller levels. The airframe is constructed from a mix of aluminium alloy with titanium alloy reinforcement and classified radar absorbent structure (RAS). Lightweight Spectra-backed polymer-constrained ceramic armouring resistant against 20 mm cannon fire protects the cockpit and key components such as the flight control system and avionics. A robust landing gear permits operation from unimproved landing fields and forward-area strips, with landing gear semi-retracted into wing nacelles for emergency gear-up belly landings. Large un-swept wings, with wingtip electronic warfare pods, produce high endurance with the capacity to loiter on target for extended periods, and high manoeuvrability with the ability to resist stalls and spins at low speed. Armament includes twin XM301 20 mm Lightweight Gatling guns in the nose that are lethal against armoured fighting vehicles using APDS ammunition; and ten wing store stations for a maximum of 8,000 lbs of ordnance. Available munitions include low drag general purpose bombs (LDGP), laser guided bombs (LGB), wind correct munition dispensers (WCMD), Maverick and Hellfire anti-armour missiles, and Sidewinder and Stinger air-to-air missiles for self-protection. The A-20 can also air deliver unattended ground sensors, scatterable mines and propaganda pamphlets from under wing cargo pod dispensers.
VARIANTS
