The US Elections have arrived for the office of President. Below are the candidates the Americans are voting on. Vote for the person you think would be the best leader of the US.
Candidates: Ronald Reagan incumbent. Pro corporation pro rich. Seeks to ban all other nations from having nuclear weapons. Noninterventionist in world affairs except to protect allies, friends, and young nations from being attacked or nuked. increased defense spending and is on an arms build up.
Cuts taxes but increases spending. Supports free trade with other nations. Staunchly supports giving covert support to pro democracy groups around the world.
Beverly Lebranc Democratic Challenger: Pro interventionist. Wants to declare war on any nation that appears anti american. Wants to raise wages to $100 an hour. Anti immigrationist. Wants to increase spending on education. Opposes all trade with other nations. Has no qualm with supporting ruthless dictators who kiss America's butt.
George Couldmyer Third Party: Noninterventionist but engagist. America should seek relations with the rest of the world and learn about other countries so as to eliminate fears of foriegn societies. Opposes nuclear proliferation but would not go to war. Favors low taxes and lower spending.
Supports increasing space and defense spending. Wants free trade with other nations. Supports an evenhanded foriegn policy.
We support George Couldmyer

OOC: I support the one who's most likely to run your nation into the ground, possibly get me some territory, and make you less of a possible threat on the international stage. Hehe.
IC:
The Democratic Empire supports the campaign of Beverly Lebranc, and donates five million Universal Standard Dollars to his campaign to insure his victory.
Hmm, its not that i dont like ronald reagan, but that George Couldmyer guy sounds pretty good. He doesn't want to ban nuclear weapons, he just wants to stop the spread of them, that not bad. He wants to engage with trade and increase defense technology, in my opinion thats a pretty good idea, id probably do the same thing. This guy has my vote.
No socialists in America eh? At least put up a true left wing candidate.

CBS is reporting that the polls have now closed in Hawaii and we are expecting election results to start coming in.
This is the first election that the Iraqis and Kurds are voting in. We also note they are in the unique position of being the first to vote in this years Presidential election and thus their votes will be counted before those of American states because of the time difference between Baghdad and the continental US.
And we now have the results from the Iraqi and Kurdish polling stations.
Ronald Reagan has won the state of Iraq. It seems the people of Iraq have chosen to give their electoral votes to President Reagan.
George Couldmyer has won the state of Kurdistan. The Kurds have differed from the Iraqis by choosing to give their electoral votes to a third party candidate.
The results from the mainland US should start pouring in in a few more hours.
Greal endorses Ronald Reagan. A big poster has been ut up in front of the US embassy.

Beverly Lebranc has just won Puerto Rico.
George Couldmyer gains Maine.
Ronald Reagan has gained Vermont and New Hampshire.
hour later:
Massachussetts, New Jersey and New York have gone to Beverly Lebranc.
Rhode Island, Washington DC and Pennsylvania have picked George Couldmyer.
Connecticut, West Virginia and Maryland have chosen Ronald Reagan.
With the Iraqi and New Yorker votes, Ronald Reagan and Beverly Lebranc are too close to call this early in the count. Each state has 45 electoral votes. Putting them both tied for second to California's 85 electoral votes.
The next major state we will be looking for is Florida with 35 votes followed by Texas with 40 and Arizona with 39.

New results are in from the east coast.
Virginia, Alabama, Ohio and Florida are now with George Couldmyer
North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia have given their votes to Beverly
Lebranc
Michigan with its 25 votes goes to Ronald Reagan.
Florida's vote makes George Couldmyer a major contender in this election unlike previous elections and it could be a sign of things to come.
But with Michigan, Reagan leads by an uncomfortable margin.

Certainly this is a question of the lesser evil.
Isn't that how most elections are??
IC:
News services are now saying that Kentucky and Tennessee have voted for Ronald Reagan.
Messypie (yes that's the states name), Indiana and Illinoise join the Beverly Lebranc camp.
Wisconsin has chosen Couldmyer.

Arkansas and Oklahoma are now in the Couldmyer camp.
Reagan makes a clean sweep of the midwestern states with North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Louisiana and Kansas Reagan.
Lebranc has won none of the midwestern states. Reagan is clearly ahead on the electoral college race.
And CNN is reporting that Texas has just given its electoral votes to Ronald Reagan. Reagan's second term seems assured but California and Arizona could change that.
Again, CNN is reporting that the people in Texas have voted to give President Reagan another term in office, giving him a big lead over both of his opponents.

Lebranc is making a good come back in the western states.
New Mexico, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada have all voted for Lebranc.
However, Montana and Arizona have both chosen to join other Americans by voting to give Reagan a second term. Another major electoral state has chosen to support Ronald Reagan. Apparently Arizonans like the job Reagan is doing.
With Arizona in his grasp, Reagan may not need California, but California could put Lebranc or possibly Could Myer in the lead.
California with its 85 electoral votes is the most important state in this election.
UnitedStatesOfAmerica-

Washington State has just gone to the Couldmyer camp.
Oregon has voted for Ronald Reagan.
CNN, MSNBC and Fox News are calling the election for Ronald Reagan. The Secretary of State for California has just held a news conference minutes ago saying that Californians have, by majority vote, elected Ronald Reagan to a second term in the White House.
Our station is also declaring Ronald Reagan the victor in this years Presidential election. Reagan winning all of California's 85 electoral votes.
One hour later, Beverly Lebranc gave her concession speech and congratulated the President by phone, followed by George Couldmyer.
3 hours later, Hawaii and Alaska vote for Ronald Reagan and the following day, expatriate Americans and military people also vote with a high preference for Reagan. Though Reagan got a much smaller simple majority among the expats.

OOC: Does that mean you're coming after my nukes now?
OOC: Unlikely. Unless you attack someone, in which case I attack you until you give up your nukes and withdraw your forces from whoever you attacked.
