OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE
The republic of Oily Prata, long since been using nuclear power for peaceful power-generation purposes,has passed a law allowing military nuclear reactors and development of idgenous nuclear weapons. The law was passed by the opposition in parliment, with the condition that Oily Prata reveals all nuclear assets.
The Oily Pratan Defence Force is in posession of 12 nuclear weapons of varying yields,purchased from a private supplier. These weapons range from tactical nukes of a few kilotons to a H-Nuke of undisclosed yield.
Production of reactors and nuclear weapons has started and is expected to follow schedule.

Cool, no crazy pontificating thou-shall-not-have-nukes have declared war on me yet.

There are no insurgents in the state of Iraq. Iraq is a member of the United States with the same rights as all the other states in the union.
The United States has no intention of attacking Oily Prata as they have done nothing to anyone. However, should they use their nukes on anyone, we will shoot down their nuclear missiles on their launchpad with our anti nuclear weapons spacecraft, and then we will respond with full scale nuclear counterstrike.

Not just if he nukes us. But if he nukes any of our allies, any small nations, or any nation on NS period.
If we detect his missiles on the launchpad being readied for launch, we will destroy them, whereby eliminating his ability to use them.

The world cannot afford to wait until an innocent people have been butchered in a nuclear holocaust by a rogue regime.

The Nukes are only for protection, and since I guess you are MT, there is no 100% effective anti-missile device right now. The most accuracy you get is around 80%. SO don't go around pontificating(I love this word) nuclear disarmament and threatening military actions because, someday, you'll pick the wrong fight.

Layer 1: the Missile has 20% of penetration.
Layer 2: the Missile has 20% of penetration. This means 4% of penetrating to your cities.
Layer 3: We are now 0.8% penetration.

Additionally some PT antimissile methods are in fact more efficient then what is actually used in MT.

OOC: Quite true. Through would anyone go through the enormous cost of building and maintaining a country wide anti-missile system? I don't.

In fact, not only do I have an enormous ABM system, I have diverted the money that normally goes into building an array of ICBMs and SLBMs into ABM missiles. The only nukes my nation has for offensive purposes are the kind that fall off aircraft. I do however have a stockpile of 5,800 nuclear-armed ABM rockets, with the goal of increasing that to 17,000.

OOC: And, of course, I simply maintain a big enough arsenal to do my damage. 0.8% of a huge number is still a huge enough number to kill off most of a nation. Not that I ever plan on nuking you, Allanea...actually, I would never use nukes unless fired upon first, regardless of the situation.

OOC: Bear in mind that my nation is not MT. At the very barest stretch it can be described as late MT.

OOC: Mine is actually entirely PMT culturally and in civilian technology terms, but with an MT military, mainly reflecting my country's cultural emphasis on soft power and economic power as opposed to military force. Quite frankly, we're just not good soldiers unless we're on the defensive or acting in a peacetime/occupation capacity. Militarism has never been an even remotely common position in our culture.

The cost of running such a system would wipe out my defence budget,and it's highly unlikely someone would nuke me in the near future. I just have them as deterrents. Anyway, this is great. No lunatics declaring war on me yet.

1 more thing to ask, I checked Euroslavia's guide and the II consolidation sticky. I have a pop of one billion. Fully trained regulars number around 1 million, with logistics following the 1/3 rule 3 million. I have NS, and in war I can field 1% fighting force. So my total fighting force is 10 million without logistics.

OOC: Yes, that's about right. My armed forces are around 55 million total, although a good chunk of that is not immediately deployed and could be technically classified as reserves.

Oily Prata is pleased to announce that it's first domestic-made nuclear weapon has been developed and tested. The BLITZWAFFEN MK.1 missile has been fitted with a 10 kiloton uranium warhead and tested in a remote island holding of Oily Prata. Enclosed is a video tape from observation posts.
Some intelligible background noise was heard, and a strange deer-like animal could be seen loping around. A bright flash filled the sky, the exhaust of the blitzwaffen. It exploded 15 metres above the ground, and the screen was filled with searing white light, then a mushroom cloud.

We halfheartedlycondemn the recent acts of nuclear proliferation taken upon by the state of Oily Prata. We can not allow rogue states such as this to proliferate such common and accecpted weapons as nuclear weapons. And as such we have commited to a full scale millitary invasion of the nation of Oily Prata to bring about an end to their ambitious nuclear program. A task force consisting of nine fleas specialy bred from the cat of one of our senators. This task force will undertake in Operation Bite, which they will attack and conquer the fledgling armed forces of Oily Prata with little resistance. We are confident of complete sucess and that the nation of Oily Prata will be crushed by our elite task force.

However, if the task force is to fail we would be forced to accecpt defeat and welecome the nation of Oily Prata to the ranks of nations capable of defending themselves through nuclear means if nessecary. However, we don't believe this will be the case.

The Goal of Oily Prata to have Nuclear Weapons has been realised. The new MT-2 warhead, with a yield of just under 10 Megatons, has been developed and fulled tested for use. It canbe placed on the BLITZWAFFEN MK.8 ICBM and MK.7 Cruise Missile. This allows Oily Prata the safety of having a first strike nuclear weapons. Tests are undergoing on the aircraft-released version of the MT-2, the MT-2A, and is expected to be completed soon.
