The President has signed a bill into law today authorizing federal grants for cities to build vertical farms.

Each farm will be 58 floors tall, with 8 million square feet of growing space. The building will be placed on a mere 140,000 square foot lock but be more effecient than the typical 1.6 square mile farming lot.
The VF's as they are being called will be able to provide food to 35,000 people year round.

The Empire congratulates the USoA on this venture into vertical agriculture. We have experimented with the technology ourselves, as we have little farmland, but we have little need for it with our many farm colonies.

We would gladly send Imperial scientists to assist in this urbanoagricultural enterprise, and/or send some funding.
