The foreign ship came out of Warp just outside the Asfaltum/Ganoxa system. The first thing they noticed was the huge black cloud surrounding the entire system. The massive gravitational distortions by the Force Storm clouded the sensors and made it hard to even get rudimentary reading on the contents of the system. The only thing that showed up on the sensors was the presence of thousands of stars, something that would be impossible because the gravity of anything remotely near a fraction would have torn the ship apart already with the tidal forces that would have been present.

Another thing that kept the ship from entering the ebony clouds was the incessant crimson energy flashes arcing from cloud to cloud. The energy reading on the lightning was large enough to know the ship would have been disintegrated before it made it all the way into the cloud, much less through it. To demonstrate that point, a wrecked freighter, long abandoned by the merchant in the war a dozen years or more when the system fell to the GE, was detected drifting into the cloud. The freighter was first struck by a single discharge of lightning, and then another, followed by yet another until the bright light from multiple strikes could not be gazed directly upon without straining the eye. When the surges stopped, there was nothing left of the debris but an expanding ion cloud.

Long minutes passed before any reaction appeared. Fragments of the ebon cloud seemed to detach from the immense bank, sheathed in crimson discharges. The ebon nebula boiled off the protrusions revealing six frigates. They halted outside the cloud and sat dead still, dead silent.

Massive energy surges were detected as the foreign ship was scanned from multiple points.

The curious thing about the scans, the sensor technician could not determine from where they were originating. He could determine where they were no though and the waiting ships were not a point of origin of the scans. They seemed to be coming out of nowhere and yet at the same time everywhere. The sensor technician could get a reading on the strange ships and the data told him each frigate had two Ion cannons and 18 torpedo tubes, none of which was currently armed.

After a few seconds, the scans from nowhere seemed to stop and another ship materialized. The ship faded into existence as it Emerged from T-Space, or the 7th dimension, it’s hull glowing with violet energy as it transferred through the dimensional barrier. Moments later, a single message was sent from the Cruiser.

After getting the message from the obviously armed ship (the gun mounts were the main clue) proclaiming they were doing system testing a return message was sent from the largest of the ships, the 150 meter Cruiser.

Whatever you say you are doing you should take out advice and cease. We are not telling you to do this out of concern you may fire at us if those are weapon systems, we are concerned that your energy surges could draw in strikes of Blood Lightning from the storm. Your energy signature could attract the discharges like a lightning rod and when one leaps, others will follow. It is for your own sake that you cease before that could happen.

The captain aboard The Stealthy Butterfly waited to see if the newcomers would heed their advice or if his ship and the Frigates would get to see nature at its best.
