((OOC: The region of "Africa" is holding the Africa Cup. A football event for every nation in the region. If your not from "Africa" and wish to join the Rp as a tourist or journalist from your own country please feel free to do so.)

The crack of gunfire had at last faded from the west coast of Congo. A violent civil war amongst the peoples of the Democratic Republic of Congo had shifted directions violently when the Federation of West Congo (Formerly the Republic of the Congo) had launched an offensive into the west of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Born from the blood and chaos was the Armed Republic of South Congo. Now dominating the majority of the formers Congo's oil and diamond fields the Armed Republic of South Congo moved swiftly to employ its wealth in buying weapons from South Africa and the Russians. More bloody fighting and some million deaths later the Armed Republic of South Congo now controls nearly 50% of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Recognized by the United Nations only recently the Armed Republic of South Congo pledged to bring wealth and happiness to its peoples. The first step is to hold the first "Africa Cup", a football tournament for the people of Africa only. To be held in the small west coast city of Boma the Africa cup is a work in progress. The massive concrete stadium to be used is brand new, only a couple of weeks old and in easy view of a battery of South Congo artillery as they lob shells into Kinshasa, the still heavily embattled capital of Congo.

Great lengths are being taken however to make the Africa Cup a sporting event worth attending for all African nations. South Congo has employed thousands of previously un-employed citizens to clean Boma up, establish the stadium and build concrete structures to house athletes and fans. The city can now support roughly 10,000 visitors comfortably at a horrendous cost to the government. Foriegn journalists have been invited to report on the cup and everyone hopes that the Africa Cup might usher in a new era of cooperation and peace in Africa.

((OOC: The Africa cup is not due to start until this coming friday. Please post your arrival to the city until then. I will do my best to include more posts on how the city looks, whats happening, etc. Cheers!))
