Prime Minister of New Brittonia David Flower Stabbed to Death, He was 45

The Prime Minister’s Palace was draped with pink and black ribbon as news of the Prime Minister of the United Socialist States of New Brittonia and Chief Communard of the Communist Party of New Brittonia, David Flower was stabbed fourteen times at a ball celebrating the birthday of Darryl Thompson, the first Prime Minister of New Brittonia. Killed due to anaphylactic shock due to her severe tree nut allergy was Foreign Minister Sarah Lynch, foul play is suspected. Not at the attack, but still dead was Deputy Prime Minister Kevin Lynch, when he was run over by a white Mitsubishi van. Defence Minister Michael Johnson was shot three times in the back and is now in critical condition.

A State of Mourning

Now officially Prime Minister, Mohammed Javaid issued a ten day state of mourning due to the deaths of the top government officials, the flag of New Brittonia has been ordered to be at half-mast for thirty days.
Responsibility
The attacks have been linked to the Blue Island separatist group the 71st Marquees Corps. Before the Unification of New Brittonia, the 71st was a military group existing under the control of the Marquees. In 1958, the 71st Marquees Corps was officially disbanded. The post-1958 71st became a terrorist organization, attacking not just those in the New Brittonian government but also condemned to death the current Marquess of the Blue Isle Victor Cecil XXVIII for being
“corrupted by the blood stained money of the Communist Party, spoiled by fat business men of the South”
The 71st has also listed the allowance of homosexual marriage and granting non human sentients as full Brittonian citizens.

Remembrance
David Flower was Prime Minister from 2003-2007, where he previously was in the Air Force of New Brittonia and a civil servant in the Ministry of Transportation. He became Minister of Transport, and later Prime Minister. He was well known for his strong stance on human rights and equality. He was famous for admitting refugees when he saw a crisis, granting non-human sentients full citizenship, and revamping the draft system. He is survived by his girlfriend, Karen Wathen.

'Tis a sad day indeed. Stoklomolvi issues its dearest of grievances to the deceased Prime Minister. Commissar Alexei Aleksandr Stuyonovich is currently busy, however, with internal affairs and is unable to attend. However, Stoklomolvi has no intelligence on Prime Minister David Flower, and is unable to deliver a eulogy due to a lack of information. Stoklomolvi can only send its deepest condolences towards New Brittonia and can only hope that the new prime minister can be what the old prime minister was.

She was appalled by the violent deaths, however, being the recent benefactor of violent revolution, she couldn't say too much. She composed a short message.

I, having recently had a brush with an assassination attempt, know very well the risks that go along with ruling with strength and compassion. While I have never met any of your leaders, I am sure they cared very deeply for their nation, and I feel for the loss of your people. I would like to send a representative of my government to the memorial service, however we do not feel properly acquainted to give a eulogy. In the meanwhile, I wish you luck with your new government.
