Is it ok to have a land area similar to something in real life and with similar terrian and borders (I have South Carolina, North Carlina and Virginia combined into one nation) but have totally different cities, culture, government, etc.

Indeed it is. Many people choose to adapt RL geography for whatever culture they choose. If you'd like a map, I'd be happy to make one for you, by the way.

Yes. Anything is acceptable (Within reason). No blatant godmods or mountain borders. Anything can be changed (Again within reason) but no exact copies of RL nations/states/etc.

thanks, Yes please, My current map kind of sucks, but look at it for the cities, it is on my NS wiki (which is in its beginings btw), but it is just black and white lines, very ugly and thrown togater. Also, lets say I wanted to invade say, Cuba or Myanmar or some place like that, do I need to call it something else?

Odd. I can't seem to load your map. But, no, you wouldn't need to call a RL territory by another name if you didn't wish to.

odd, can you see it below? And one more question, not about maps though, can a company logo appear on your coat of arms? I use the Ariat Boots logo on mine, both because it is a cool logo and I really like my pair of Ariat's. Is it ok to have a copy righted logo for your stuff in your nation?
