The Yokuda Empire
The most populous human nation on the planet, and one of the strongest. While isolationist by nature, Yokuda has a strong and diverse army easily on par with the Cyrodillic Empire's forces at their prime. It maintains a small amount of trade for the few goods it needs to import. No diplomatic contact has been made, however, in many years. Yokuda is ruled by a long-standing dynasty of Emperors who have obtained near-godlike powers over the centuries.
The entire empire is surrounded by a magically reinforced wall some thirty feet high, except at a few key ports where trade is permitted.

His mandate to rule is thought to be divine and predestined. In contrast to modern international relationships, the Emperor of Yokuda was seen in Aetheriusnot merely as the head of one nation-state among many, but rather as the overlord of the entire civilized world, meaning there could only be one legitimate emperor in the world at any given time.
The emperor's words and directives were considered Sacred Edicts and his directions from writing are considered "directives from above" In theory, the emperor's orders were to be followed with immediate obedience. He was elevated above all commoners, nobility, and members of the imperial family. Addresses to the emperor were always to be formal and self-deprecatory, even by the closest of family members.

Geography
From the Tibe Plateau and other less-elevated highlands rise rugged east-west trending mountains, and plateaus interrupted by deep depressions fanning out to the north and east. The Tibe Plateau is a vast, elevated plateau covering most of the Tibe Region and Qinhai Province in the Yokuda. With an average elevation of over 4,500 meters, its one of the highest and biggest plateau in the world and an area of 2.5 million square kilometers. A continental scarp marks the eastern margin of this territory, a scarp that extends from the Greater Khinan Range in northeastern Yokuda, through the Taihang Mountains (a range of mountains overlooking the North Yokuda Plain) to the eastern edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau in the south. All of the low-lying areas of Yokuda, which support dense population and intensive cultivation, are to the east of this scarp line.
The east-west ranges include some of The greatest mountains. In addition to the Jhang Mountains and the Kunlun Mountains, there are the Kailash and the Tian Shan ranges. The latter stands between two great basins, the massive Tarim Basin to the south and the zungarian Basin to the north. Rich deposits of coal, oil, and metallic ores lie in the Tian Shan area. The largest inland basin in Yokuda, the Tarim Basin measures 1,500 kilometres from east to west and 600 kilometres from north to south at its widest parts. The Jhangs form a natural boundary on the southwest as the ltai Mountains do on the northwest. Lesser ranges branch out, some at sharp angles from the major ranges. The mountains give rise to all the principal rivers. The spine of the Kunlun Mountains separates into several branches as it runs eastward from the Pamir Mountains. The northernmost branches, the Altyn-Tagh and the Qilian Range, form the rim of the Tibe Plateau in west-central Yokuda and overlook the Qaidam Basin, a sandy and swampy region containing many salt lakes. A southern branch of the Kunlun Mountains divides the watersheds of the White River and the Hangtze River. The Ganstu Corridor, west of the great bend in the White River, was traditionally an important communications link with Central Yokuda.
North of the Great Wall, between Ganstu Province on the west and the Greater Khingan Range on the east, lies the golian Plateau, at an average elevation of 1,000 metres above sea level. The Yin Mountains, a system of mountains with average elevations of 1,400 metres, extends east-west through the center of this vast desert steppe. To the south is the largest loess plateau in the world, covering 600,000 square kilometers in Shaaxi Province, parts of Gansu and Shanxi provinces, and some of Ningxia-Hui Region. Loess is a yellowish soil blown in from the Inner golian deserts. The loose, loamy material travels easily in the wind, and through the centuries it has veneered the plateau and choked the White River with silt. Because the river level drops precipitously toward the North China Plain where it sluggishly crosses the delta, it carries a heavy load of sediment in the form of sand and mud from the upper reaches, much of which is deposited on the flat plain. to .
Flowing from its source in the Tibe highlands, the White River courses toward the sea through the North Yokuda Plain, the historic centre of Yokuda expansion and influence. Ethnic Yokudian people have farmed the rich alluvial soils of the plain since ancient times, constructing the Grand Canal of Yokuda for north-south transport. The plain itself is actually a continuation of the churian Plain to the northeast but is separated from it by the Bohai Gulf, an extension of the Sea. Like other densely populated areas of China, the plain is subject not only to floods but to earthquakes.
The Qinling mountain range, a continuation of the Kunlun Mountains, divides the North China Plain from the hangtze River Delta and is the major physiographic boundary between the two great parts of Yokuda Proper. It is in a sense a cultural boundary as well, influencing the distribution of custom and language. South of the Qinling divide are the densely populated and highly developed areas of the lower and middle plains of the Hangtze and, on its upper reaches, the chuan Basin, an area encircled by a high barrier of mountain ranges. The country's longest and most important waterway, the Hangtze River is navigable over much of its length Rising on the Tibe Plateau, the Yangtze River traverses 6,300 kilometers through the heart of the country, draining an area of 1.8 million square kilometers before emptying into the Eastern Sea. The chuan Basin, favoured by a mild, humid climate and a long growing season, produces a rich variety of crops; it is also a leading silk-producing area and an important industrial region with substantial mineral resources.
Second only to the Qinling as an internal boundary is the Nanling, the southernmost of the east-west mountain ranges. The Nanling overlooks the part of Yokuda where a tropical climate permits two crops of rice to be grown each year. Southeast of the mountains lies a coastal, hilly region of small deltas and narrow valley plains; the drainage area of the Ruby River and its associated network of rivers occupies much of the region to the south. West of the Nanling, the Hunnan-Zuizhou Plateau rises in two steps, averaging 1,200 and 1,800 metres in elevation, respectively, toward the precipitous mountain regions of the eastern Tibetan Plateau.
The Hai River, like the Ruby and other major waterways, flows from west to east. Its upper course consists of five rivers that converge near Tianjin, then flow seventy kilometers before emptying into the Bohai Gulf. Another major river, the Huai, rises in Henan Province and flows through several lakes before joining the Hangtze near Yanghou. Inland drainage involving a number of upland basins in the north and northeast accounts for about 40 percent of the country's total drainage area. Many rivers and streams flow into lakes or diminish in the desert. Some are useful for irrigation.

The Phoenix Guard: 250
before the shutting down of the border of Yokuda. many great warriors of the High Elves, the most fearsome are the silent guardians of the Shrine Of Asuyan. Known as the Phoenix Guard, the main duty of these warrior monks is to protect the island shrine and all those who make their pilgrimage there. Particularly important is the eternal flame, The secret behind the unnatural silence lies in the Chamber Of Days, a secret room whose walls blaze with words of flame, written on the naked walls themselves. These tell the histories of all the Phoenix Kings who have ever lived, and also those who are yet to come. It foretells the death of each, and their successors and predecessors. Any who gaze upon these terrible words must swear a magical oath of complete silence from which they can never be released. This knowledge of their fate wipes away any joy or other expressions from these warrior priests, their faces set instead in grim expressions of doom. In battle, they can always be found where the fighting is in its most desperate state, knowing in advance if they shall fall or if they shall be victorious.
When a Empeoror dies, the Phoenix Guard are always there, appearing suddenly and without warning to bear away the body of their king to the White Ship. In battle, the Phoenix Guard fight with their ceremonial halberds, clad in cloaks of embroidered fire that echo the sacred flame of Asuyan. They move throughout the battlefield in utter silence, accompanied only by the beat of a solemn drum. This unnatural manner is deeply disturbing for their enemies as even the direst of wounds will not make them cry out.
Shadow Warriors: 1,000
Even in times of relative peace, the Shadow Warriors are never at rest. They constantly patrol the barren shores and bleakest hills as they watch for the inevitable Dark Elf raiders; the evil Druchii who sank their homeland beneath the waves and who slaughter their kin. It is little wonder then that battles between the two races are bitterly fought with no quarter asked or given.they are among the most loyal subjects of the Emperor and the tales of their daring and dangerous exploits are many in number. It is an unusual Elf indeed who has not heard of their valour. Though they are wilder and perhaps more vicious than the rest of the High Elves, it is because of their truly tragic past rather than innate cruelty. Given the bitter and war-wrecked times through which they have lived, this is a flaw that is easy to understand.
Swordmasters of Hoeth
There are many ways to travel the path of wisdom. Some fast and mediate for years, others study obscure and arcane tomes, but for a few their true path lies in martial prowess. These are the Swordmasters, though they are not only experts with a blade; they also learn to fight with their bare hands or with any other weapon they can reach, especially their finely balanced ceremonial greatswords. The centre of their cult is the White Tower Of WU, at the heart of ancient Saphery. Here they study the secret ways of battle, honing their bodies and skills to unbelievable levels. Some say they can cut a candle in half without disturbing the flame, others that they can fight in complete darkness, guided only by the faint whisper of their foe's breathing. These expert warriors are the Guardians Of The White Tower and serve as protectors of the mages and scholars who live and study there. But the Swordmasters are not hermits; part of their duties is to serve as messengers for the Tower's masters, and to this end they travel regularly throughout Yokuda, guarding travelling scholars or seeking out information to enrich the vast store that resides in the White Tower. In battle they are deadly opponents, eager to practise their legendary skills on real enemies, in an arena where there is no room for second best. This is the true test of mettle, skill and honour that they eagerly seek out.
