Official Declaration of War

The Autocratic Federated Empire hereby declares a state of war between itself and the Free Dominion of Vetaka. Vetakan support for UFAN threatens Akimonadi interests throughout the world and provides a direct pathway for aggression of these interests. This will no longer be tolerated.

Base One, Akimonad
644 ships were being readied to depart for Vetaka. Some four million marines piled onto the ships.

This was going to be a very bloody war.

Space Above Vetaka

Three satellites moved slowly across the skies over Vetaka. They positioned themselves, then let loose the godrods they contained. They were aimed for the three most important government buildings in Vetaka.

OOC: Okay, this is noncanon, and agreed upon beforehand. Nukes are allowed. And the causus belli equates to "for teh lulz".

Palace of Peace, New Theeb, Vetaka:

The Emergency Alarms burst into life as the OBSAT detection system detected the falling God Rods with that a well rehearsed operation burst into life the President was rushed into an Emergency lift which shot deep deep into the ground their he was rushed into a Train which shot away into a Tunnel rushing the President away to safety back up on the surface all tho VDF ASAT Weapon Batteries burst into life numerous rods got through the shield however falling they crashed into the Palace. The explosion and impact was deafening. Personnel and Staff whom where not quick enough would be dead before they hit the ground the Palace now failed to exist it was just a huge pile of rubble.

The same fate had occurred to the Senate Palace of Freedom and the Foreign Office VDF ASAT Batteries had managed to destroy the majority of God Rods yet alas it only took one God Rod to destroy the old buildings some 2,000 people had perished in the initial attack.

OBSAT Space Command, Classified Location, Vetaka:

"Thank You Mister President. Authorization Confirmed" spoke Watch Commander Hartland

With that codes where punched into Computer Consoles and orders where sent throughout the OBSAT network firstly 5 Thor Weapons Platforms repositioned orbits and locked onto targets throughout Akimonad. Firstly 2 Thor Platforms targeted the two most important Government buildings. The third would destroy the enemy Capitals Airport. The remaining two would target the Capital itself attacking Civilian Targets only.

Rogers Mountain Range Missile Silos:

With further orders sent 150 Peacekeeper II ICBMs launched from their Silos and roared into life soaring towards Akimonad they would detonate across Akimonad Sky and hopefully disrupt if not destroy all Electronics across the nation.

Airbases Across Vetaka:

As part of Rapid Reaction protocol a squadron of 25 B-74 Shadowcasters was always loaded and ready to deploy at a moments notice as a result they where readying within a few hours these Orbital Bombers would soon roar to the sky take up formation and fly on towards Akimonad where they would launch massive amounts of ordnance against key and Strategic Airbases.

Further to this the VDF was now in Full Scale Emergency Mobilization Akimonad would come and they would die.

"Tower this is Red Army Air Force One go for takeoff, over." Despite the mechanical calmness of the procedure just completing, Col. Michael Beezler tensed on the throttle, knowing that as of this moment it was game time for Wagdog. Godrod attacks on Vetaka? He heard of it briefly from the staff and government officials as they'd boarded; knowledge he'd naturally keep until death, due to its secrecy as yet until the General Secretary could make the announcement. That means... well, at least they pay me ENOUGH for this kind of job. That thought was about the only compensation for what was likely to happen...

"Roger that Red Army Air Force One, you are cleared for takeoff. First Independent Strategic Fighter Wing is airborne and on-station with refuelling support, so get out there and run the show. Good luck; for the Revolution, for Vetaka, for Freedom! Tailville Tower over." Audrey Mannstein knew that this could be the last time she ever said those words; and truly enough, was appropriately nervous inside. Training had taken over, but then again her training at least wouldn't do much if a godrod hit her in the next few hours. Until then, however, what else was there to do but her job?

"Roger that Tower, Red Army Air Force One out. Pushing to mil and taking off." As the huge Il-87 Maxdome rushed skyward, towards its full waiting screen of some 100 MiG-40 Red Fox interceptors with some 150 more in the 1st ISFW's mountain-covered base waiting to keep the BARCAP protecting the Maxdome aloft, Wagdog's first part in this war already began in the back of the aircraft; in the massive staff room where the ranking Joint Chiefs and General Secretary were meeting to give the requisite orders.

SIC
Red Army Air Force One, Skies over Wagdog
Fleet Admiral Teran Suthonang began with the key word to be given. "Comrade, I've received word that our ballistic missile subs are streaming out to sea as we speak, the last few within the next half hour. Mobilization of fleet surface and air forces is also proceeding apace, and we should be fully capable by day's end. In short, sir, we can take these Akimonadis to task for this little surprise of theirs I do say." The Admiral had reason to be proud, for his service was Wagdog's foremost in prestige and budget even if mobilization took the Army and associated Air Force to the usual numerical predominance. "Our TACAMO and ASW birds are already aloft, so we've got C4ISR and ASW capabilities in our region locked down." The guarded Il-76VKP Candid and Tu-142M4 Bear aircraft for each role, respectively, were key assets Wagdog had to bring to bear early in any major war like this.

Field Marshals Mecklenholtz and Reynolds, being of essentially conjoined services in the Army and Air Force respectively, followed. "Soldiers are reporting to stations, and our full forty Army Groups in air and land strength should be available within the next day. On my end sir, we'll be ready; ask the Vetakans whether they need us in counterattack or defense mainly." Mecklenholtz was neither giddy nor distraught in his vaguely Southern accent; for now, this was simply a developing situation and had to be dealt with as such.

Reynold's chimed in after. "Already, all Independent Wings of all types are active for strategic offensive and defensive missions. OBSAT and our other space assets are live, and we can strike back as required. Also, per peacetime readiness, half of our conventional air forces are already stood up with the other half to follow at their ground counterparts' pace. RAAFs Two and Three have reported in, so the succession is safe for now. Orders, Comrade General Secretary?" Now was the moment of truth, when Wagdog's first blows would be landed in Vetaka's defense against the Akimonadi "bolt from the blue."

General Secretary Charles D. Lind didn't disappoint. "Well then, let's strike from the sheath. I want their satellites targeted for destruction as soon as we have all the locks, with OBSAT primed for self-defense in the meantime and also for godrodding the heck out of something damn it! What do we have that can take that sort of strike?"

Reynolds responded instantly. "We've detected by visual recon a massive fleet embarking at what looks to be their primary naval base. If we're to hit anywhere Comrade, there's the best to do it." His smile spoke volumes about the first blows of the war falling within his purview, and thus how proud he was even it the responsibility was crucial.

"Good. Delete it. Fire as much as you deem necessary to destroy that fleet in port, and ready bombers and subs to finish off whoever does get to sea. Collateral damage is not a factor, not after what they did just before." Charles seethed at that thought, even if he knew the enemy would soon as well; as was their natural and animal right to do. He knew that, given the vague provocation but quite clear destruction apparently, this was going to be one ugly war.

The Joint Chiefs all responded "Yes Comrade." Then, turning to their respective staffers, the orders were passed on to the communications nodes across Wagdog responsible for ferrying them to the operational units to be tasked with the strikes. Once OBSAT reported ready for engagement, Charles would use his 'football' and its linked trigger mechanism to personally set his nation's intervention in motion. And after that, well, it was time to reap the whirlwind...

Semi-SIC2
Air, Army and Naval Bases Across Wagdog
Readying for any contingency that might emerge once the ground phase of the war began, over twelve million in Red Army personnel began gearing up for action; rushing to their rifles, tanks, guns, trucks, and any other equipment needed for their specialty whether combat or (as usual) support. For now, they had to disperse to homeland-based positions in case of strategic strikes, thereafter to take what damage would be endured and move on either to Vetaka or Akimonad as required by the National Command Authorities.

In the air, close to ten-thousand Cardinals were in various stages of wartime BARCAP interceptor duty; about 4,000 in the air at any given time, with the ability to surge more if required depending on the command and control situation. Given that each Army Air Force had a dedicated Control Wing with 100 A-50M Mainstay AWACS for the purpose in addition to the inevitable ground stations, however, that wasn't considered an issue as yet; Akimonadi action possibly making it an issue being theoretical still. In accordance with Lind's orders, fully 1,000 Tu-160M Blackjack-B strategic bombers and 2,500 B-22 Zeus heavy bombers began spinning up for takeoff; armed to utterly destroy what Akimonadi fleets survived the first blows to come. The benefits of having an air force equal in size and greater in power than the army, even if still technically subordinate thereto, would soon be made apparent to the Akimonadi forces indeed.

At sea, however, was where the bulk of Akimonad's problems would soon emerge; fitting for a service which with its dependent Marines counted fully half of Wagdian service personnel. By air, Wagdog could boast some thirty-thousand naval fighters aboard its fifty massive Tri-Svyatitelya supercarriers in the ten line fleets (1st-5th and 11th-15th) mustering, of which planes usually a good two-fifths could be reliably in the air if full AWACS control and support were available; augmented by shipborne CIC control even if necessary. By surface, Wagdog's fifty heavy battleships allowed some compensation for a lack of any supercapitals, although this was balanced by a general lack of regular battlewagons outside of commerce-protection duties with Seventh Fleet and such; hefty cruiser and destroyer support allowed this to be mitigated somewhat however. And undersurface, perhaps the deadliest power of all was gathering. Konstantin missile subs, half ballistic-missile and the other half antiship-missile roled, were dispersing to make the seas lethal to any Akimonadi invasion fleets; Oscars by an equal number were also dispersing with Akula escorts so as to widen the net for the enemy to stumble into, so they could struggle against a fusillade of missile fire when the time was right; Vladimirs were proceeding with the fleets to provide a screen against similar traps on the Akimonadi end, and lastly the humble Kilos readied for either SOF-insertion or coastal-defense duties as needed; hence Wagdog was quite ready by sea.

Overall, the situation was as follows for Wagdog. Had it been caught unawares, costing the lives of two-thousand allied citizens in a sneak attack? Yes. Had it been forced into a crash mobilization for general war which might not end short of the ultimate force each combatant possessed being used? Yes. But did that mean they were weak or unprepared to strike back? Absolutely not.

The response was overwhelming in brutality and yet precision. Upon Lind's triggering, the responsible OBSAT armed satellites altered their orbits to converge in multiple passes over Base One; each pass automatically raining that particular satellite's payload of death once the optimum targeting parameters were fulfilled. And what a payload that would be...

The strike was smaller than what Wagdog could drop in an all-out strike on one target, but expending all godrods now was considered foolhardy in case other matters required them. Instead, however, a substantial fraction of the 4,000 strong 25" godrod arsenal would be dropped; some 1600 in fact, as proof of how seriously Wagdog took as time-critical a target as the Akimonadi invasion fleet still massing.

And while the 320 satellites' five godrods each plummeted to Earth and their fiery destinies targeting the moored invasion ships, the birds' own sixty ASAT missiles each also launched against any Akimonadi birds they detected in orbit so as to swamp whatever was threatening with sheer waves of missiles; while the moored NX-19 Unmanned Combat Spacecraft detached to pursue against any satellites the missiles failed to impact, and would resort to long or short-range space missiles, or even simple BK-27 Mauser 27mm aircraft cannon strafing before enacting a suicide-trajectory if needed. The reason for so extreme a reaction was simple: Wagdog was no fool of a nation, and knew that these godrod satellites would be marked birds the instant they became known for what they were, hence best to empty them in a suicide run for maximum effect before they were lost while the others were held in safer orbits as a reserve.

Meanwhile, and most importantly, Wagdog's own civilian network of comms satellites broadcast the following transmission from Red Army Air Force Two. Although not the key leader of the nation, her alliance responsibilities made Charles' wife Deputy General Secretary Christine Friedrich the ideal person to deliver this message to the so called "Autocratic Federated Empire."

Official USSW Declaration of Support for Vetaka and War against the Autocratic Federated Empire of Akimonad
I am disgusted by this act of naked aggression against our fraternal allies in Vetaka, Dr. Hodz; especially since your regime has neither specified what "interests" the United Federation of Allied Nations threatens nor approached us about a diplomatic solution to said threat. No, instead you have simply sown the winds of war; for which you shall reap the whirlwind of Allied fury!

I just received the National Peoples' Congress' approval, by an overwhelming vote, for a legal Declaration of War against your vile dictatorship; transmitted to me by secure fax and signed into law by my husband. And rest assured, as my people command, I and said husband General Secretary Charles Lind shall obey. You have shed our allies' blood, Dr. Hodz; this shall no longer be tolerated. Sleep well, before you die in disgrace like the fascist aggressor you are.

With Sternest Resolution,

Base One

It was Independence Day, and a band was happily playing various tunes out on the square below.

Suddenly all hell broke loose. Red lights lit up everywhere, and the windows of base buildings were sealed off by metal blinds. (You know, like garage door type things.)

The people on the square scrambled into the buildings and into the basements.

Several ASATs were launched at the godrods, but they were to quick.

Authorization was given quickly. Thousands of Sprint missiles rose up with tremendous g-forces and sped towards the godrods and detonated their nuclear payloads. The blast was so great that many of the godrods were blown off course or began to tumble.

This, of course, meant little.

The remaining godrods struck with vengeance. The base was utterly demolished, ships heavily damaged or sunk.

News reached the capitol swiftly, and Dr. Hodz was spirited away to an underground bunker.

From there, he set the country on DEFCON 1. Nuclear Depth Bombs were loaded onto ships, and all silos were authorized to launch.

Then more bad news. ICBMs were headed in.

Fortunately, they were not headed on any trajectory to a city. So where were they headed?

"I want all electronics off. Now!" Dr. Hodz ordered. The officers did it, only questioning in their minds.

In space, the ABM satellites focused on the missiles and shot down half of them. The rest detonated.

The satellites detonated too, torn apart by ASATs.

Meanwhile, electronics throughout Akimonad died.

Back at the bunker, the EMP-hardened electronics came back online.

Thousands of ASATs were fired at any satellites in the skies.

"Dammit." Dr. Hodz said. "Fire nukes at them."

The orders were given, and 3000 Peacekeepers streamed towards Vetaka, another 3000 to Wagdog.

OOC: Aki, here's Thor (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12942027&postcount=140); it's another godrod sat type besides the one integral to the latest OBSAT modifications. Uses more rods in 12" caliber as opposed to the relatively-few rods in 25" caliber that OBSAT's version employs. Can you TG me about how many ABM-radars and ABM-command bunkers we're dealing with here, as well as SAM units and sites; or else discuss these with me on IRC before you post responding so I can make any edits needed to my attack details? Thanks; ideally, maps and ORBAT soon to come.;) For now, this post is mainly to flex the first-day-of-war muscles and show that I will indeed respond in Vetaka's strategic defense if so able.

Red Army Air Force One, Skies over Wagdog
By now, even scarce hours into the battle, General Secretary Charles Lind was settling into the schizoid rhythms required of a Commander-in-Chief. On the one hand, he had to manually fire the OBSAT-enabled weapons using the trigger on his "football" strategic laptop as if he were almost fighting the war himself; complete with a miniature tie-in display to the nation's Over the Horizon and other Antiballistic Missile radars in the OBSAT-upgraded A-135 system that embodied Wagdog's 'defensive' strategic deterrent. And on the other, he was equally dependent on his subordinates to guide such personal intervention of his in the combat; since micromanagement never led to victory for long in real warfare, if ever. "Do we have firing solutions already Marshal Reynolds?" His impatience at the missiles' closure was showing for he clearly wanted to be able to deal with them early on.

"Just a second, and... acquired Comrade!" The Air Force general sounded out as if he were a green OBSAT operator in the main Space Command bunker over on Pinkybrain Atoll in the Crossfire Islands. "You're cleared in hot Comrade General Secretary." So far, the war was going well with the Akimonadi invasion capability amputated or at least crippled for a good while; reason indeed for acting like an overzealous recruit anticipating his first 'action' in war.

"Good. Firing..." With that, Charles sent the locked five-thousand OBSAT-guidance modified SH-08 Gorgon ABMs rocketing skyward towards open space, their nuclear warheads activated upon brief detection by the lost godrod sats of the Akimonadi interceptors' own nuclear employment; destruction of which spent 320 satellites immediately followed in the srorm of ASAT's that followed their successful strike of course. Thirty-five hundred were aimed at the three-thousand missiles inbound on Wagdog proper, with the OBSAT-enabled SH-11 Gazelle terminal-defense missiles armed to intercept any 'leakers' with near certain probability of success after the initial wave of Gorgons was spent. The remaining fifteen-hundred were aimed at the other three-thousand ICBMS bearing down on Vetaka; so as to enhance the VDF's own OBSAT-Spartan/Sprint based system and ensure that Allied solidarity proved not just morally uplifting, but also militarily effective. Surely enough, the spread had managed to work aside from not detonating in time to catch all the Peacekeepers before their warheads deployed; which warheads were left to the Gazelle layer to effectively mop up, a task completed in due time and with dispatch by the terminal missiles' fragmentation warheads.

Turning to Reynolds, Charles then asked "Are the bombers ready?" After the Air Marshal nodded, the only order given was "Go. I have a few more things to target here before I'm done." Charles continued to ply the OBSAT and non-OBSAT armed satellites into orbits crossing Akimonad, this time aiming yet further godrods for what local recon birds had identified as strategic radars vital to any Akimonadi ABM system; as well as the probable command bunkers to defeat said system with. The godrods had to be used sparingly, due to their limited numbers; but if the ABM system were successfully blinded then they would be worse then useless to Akimonad, all part of a greater strategy behind such that Charles only hoped the enemy's paranoia would cause them to mischaracterize and overreact to in turn. Already, Wagdog was setting the pace and scope of its own duel with Akimonad, and thus halfway to victory within hours of hostilities opening; not a bad way to start indeed.

IC
Military Bases Across Wagdog, Seas of Lazarus, and Skies over Akimonad...
Teaming up with what Vetakan Defense Force Navy vessels were active, the ten Battle Fleets of the Wagdian Red Banner Navy prepared to blockade Base One and all other Akimonadi ports within range. Augmented by heliborne marine-commando support aboard converted assault carriers, these fearsome task forces would converge upon the enemy fleet in its home base and strike it down dead upon its own moorings. The battle would be titanic, for sure, but with effective VDF coordination the outcome was effectively certain: Allied victory and control of the seas between Lazarus and Akimonad.

That done, whatever the cost required to achieve it, the Escort Fleet could begin the task of helping the Support Fleet ferry the Marine armored, Mechanized and Garrison divisions into Akimonad at a steady rate already being plotted by logisticians of the Red Banner Naval Staff back at GHQ in Tailville DR. Once naval supremacy was in Allied hands, everything would come together; the land that had deigned to envision invasion of Wagdog's sworn ally would instead be itself subject to invasion, and not idly so either. They would not come to raid or prick or provoke, but instead to conquer; and with only what mercy the UFAN Charter absolutely demanded of them, no more.

By air, the thousand Blackjacks and twenty-five hundred Zeus soared aloft towards Akimonad; under escort by comprehensive task forces of fighter, bomber, control and refuelling wings so as to present a combined-arms threat to the enemy. The enemy invasion fleet decisively wrecked or so it seemed, the task force was reloaded for some hours so it could instead take the conventional war to the enemy homeland as decisively as Vetaka had. With OBSAT having plotted the positions of what Akimonadi air defense sites could be seen, the thousand Blackjacks would sprint ahead of the Zeus once the runs began and attack from multiple vectors of penetration at over Mach 1. When the bombers' bays opened and the strike launched, rotary launchers would come alive lobbing from 2500km away the bombers' eighteen each submunition-warhead Kh-555SD Kent-C cruise missiles to level the SAM launchers and crews, and their six each blast-warhead Kh-555SE missiles to obliterate the radars equally-utterly. No mercy was to be shown to Akimonadi air defenses this time.

With the Blackjacks' runs completed and what losses had to be taken, they would egress over hopefully-cleansed skies while the B-22 Zeus moved in for the real kill. That is, the twenty-five hundred massive bombers would each drop some ten "Father of All Bombs" fuel-air monstrosities over each of the Akimonadi Air Force bases targeted in this run. Of course this would only be done after the escorting FA-15D Cardinals, provisioned by the tankers sent out and controlled by the AWACS planes also in the strike force, had finally ditched their long-range fuel tanks and engaged enemy interceptors whether aloft or on the ground as needed, and either at BVR range as preferred or within visual range if targeting on reflex. It didn't particularly matter; however it was done, the Akimonadi Air force had to die, and preferably immediately so or at least be so crippled that it could not effectively contest Allied air supremacy any more than it could their pending naval dominance either.

Back home in Wagdog, the troops dug into their bunkers and prepared for the worst; not trusting to the propaganda about OBSAT's nigh-invincibility or to Murphy's intermittent beneficence. Huddled as deeply as possible, they would ride out what bombings came and then prepare for embarkiing upon the invasion fleet once naval supremacy belonged to their nation. For now, despite that hope, the nervous eyes of recruits watched the drab bunker ceilings as they clutched their issue E-19 rifles; the grizzled NCOs trying to steady their men either calmly or gruffly as each was accustomed to wtihin their own outfit, and the officers trying to remain stoic and proud so as to embody the spirit of a Revolutionary commander even if momentarily under siege.

Before long, once word came in that the nuclear strike had failed, they would emerge from the bunkers and resume preparations. Before long, many of them would be storming a foreign land; far from the embrace of mother or lover, and in the presence of their enemies with no table prepared. Hardly a situation any wishes to face, but what the soldier must all the same; of any nation, of any ideology, for all time that there are wars for soldiers to fight.

The Constitutional Monarchy of Daufuskie moves for interests in far off nations.

The Constitutional Monarchy of Daufuskie hereby declares that a state of war exists with the Federated Autocratic Empire.

The reasons were simple, well then again not so simple, Vakteka was sort of close to Daufuskie, it could be used as a staging point in a pinch, however, Daufuskien Government wanted land, and now. The 300 million people were starting to get cramped together in the nation the size of South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia combined. The few distant possessions were not helping much, as they were a small island here and there; the Daufuskiens wanted something more substantial. And they were going to take it.

Near Bostonia a large and newly built Air Force Base roared to life as 3 B-2 Spirits were directed out of the hangars and down the runway. Maltese Crosses adorned their wings, and the pilots wore Airat Boots, ready to fight for a reason they knew not. None the less the High Council and the Archduke had reached an agreement, and the nation was now at war. The stealth bombers flew as fast as they could toward Akimonad, ready to make a passing strike at Monad City in the south, doing what they could to pummel the place and knowing well that it might be a suicide mission. Before they left though, The Archduke gave one last request for peace.

Kent Metropolitan Area
It was more or less at this point that the godrods from Vetakan OBSAT assets were nearing their targets. They would find themselves unfulfilled, however, as they would hit targets within Kent that were unpopulated. Following the initial godrod attack on the invasion fleet, and subsequent EMPs, the government had ordered that major cities be evacuated.

As the godrods descended with flaming kinetic fury, the city was silent. All that could be heard was the rustling of trees. The largest building in the city, the Akimonadi Government Plaza One, stood tall, an immovable target.

A godrod fell quickly and sliced through the top of the building, descending down its core. Elevators in the core were obliterated, and the walls around the core were blown out by the force the godrod had. Windows broke like twigs and glass rained down upon the streets below. The godrod finally came to a sickly, screeching halt at the 57th floor, near the middle of the building. By now the fire alarms that were still working were screeching shrilly as sprinklers attempted to extinguish the fires ignited by the godrod as it sheared through steel.

There was no reaction to the fire alarms, though, as the building was silent. The only sounds were the cracking of flame and the groan of steel that had been overburdened by the destruction of some integral beams.

As if someone had knocked a domino over, a steel beam groaned and bent under the enormous weight of the building. Bolts connecting the beam to a column broke and shot out like bullets. The beam collapsed onto the floor below. Beams arranged around the failed beam repeated the move, and the enormous weight of the building decided that it was fed up with its vertical lifestyle and wanted something different. The 57th floor collapsed onto the floor below. The 56th floor, overloaded, snapped and fell to the floor below. This manuever was repeated until the steel and glass holding up the building had been spewed onto the ground, across the streets and into neighboring buildings.

The overwhelming force of the falling building overwhelmed the small buildings that made up the rest of Akimonadi Government Plaza. In less than thirty minutes, the rest of the Plaza had been destroyed. Small office buildings were obliterated instantly. The Parliament House burned for fifteen minutes, but the heat and the lack of somewhat important beams caused the building to collapse sideways onto the pavement that formerly served as a parking lot.

Meanwhile, buildings around the capitol were being destroyed by other godrods.

Then came the inevitable loss of life. The Kent Coliseum, which stood proud in the face of deteriorating edifices around it, housed three million citizens of Kent that could not be evacuated. They needed to be housed somewhere that would hopefully be moderately safe.

Of course, a coliseum presents a large target to oncoming metal poles.

Three godrods tore through the light roof of the coliseum and slammed into banks of seats, sending people, seats and metal shooting throughout the structure.

Thousands of lives were instantly obliterated, but the godrods dealt further damage. They tore through the concrete and steel that held up the seats and collapsed into the open areas below that housed halls, concession stands and restrooms, which were all packed tightly with people.

The concrete holding up one section of seats, having been badly scarred by a godrod which had eliminated its main support beams, groaned heavily and collapsed onto throngs of helpless civilians trapped inside.

Bunker somewhere in Akimonad

Dr. Hodz paced nervously. He was now going to be invaded, and he knew it.

At this point, damage control was the only real option.

"What's the damage so far?" he asked of no one in particular.

"Well, we lost a good portion of the navy, but we can still defend ourselves. Also, the Air Force and Army have shown themselves to be resilient." said the Chairman of the Advisory Council.

"Call up the reserve, or what parts you haven't already. I want every man capable of firing to be ready." Hodz ordered.

Orders were sent, and hundreds of aircraft joined the airborne force that protected Akimonad's air superiority. Nothing was to get through. The total force consisted of 400 F-22s, 300 F-35s, 400 Typhoons and 400 Saab Gripens, as well as 250 Nimrod maritime patrol bombers and 250 P-8 Poseidons.

This was a sizable portion of Akimonad's air force, but some planes were still stored in case they would be needed.

Just when we thought leaders couldn't be any more moronic, this happens.

We would like to take this moment to confirm that a state of war now exists between the incompetent leaders of Akimonad and Barronia, effective of the transmission of this message. We will not allow you to attack our ally Vetaka with zero reason whatsoever, and you will no doubt taught that rash actions such as this inevitably yield consequences.

Our donation to the effort to remove Akimonad's aggression will be announced to our allies through encrypted channels shortly.

We request to you now: return your forces to their homeland, and stand down, lest you suffer far more casualties than necessary.

Heavily Encrypted

To our allies in Vetaka:

We are saddened to hear of Akimonad's suicidal attack on your glorious nation, and are immediately dispatching the following:

75,000 Nakil1A1GU Tanks plus associated crews and logistical forces.
4th, 5th, and 6th Expeditionary Task Forces, a total of 840 ships.

B-74 Shadowcaster Echo 1, High Altitude Sky Approaching Akimonad:

The B-74 Shadowcaster was the backbone of the Vetakan Long Range Bombing Arm of the Vetakan Air Defence Forces. The Aircraft was a dartian produced Orbital Superbomber designed to give Vetaka the Strategic Capacity to engage targets around the world. These Shadowcasters had now been in the air for near 7 Hours and the crews where getting restless they had been scrambled in the aftermath of inital attack by Akimonad the massive birds would be the initial first wave strike within the Counter-Offensive carrying only 1 specific weapon this being the Questarian Designed Anti Runway Munition Explosives Dispenser or (ARMED) (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13164016&postcount=16) munition the intention of this strike was clear the destruction or decapitation of Akimonad Air Force Bases. Securing Air Superiority over any battlefield was much more easier when the enemies airbases where destroyed or damaged to the point where they couldn't put fighters into the sky. The various birds now that where in range broke formation and split up heading to their various targets. As they approached each bird locked onto its predesignated targets and fired its ARMED Missiles. 25 of Akimonads most Strategic Airbases where now sustaining a barrage of 24 ARMED Missiles aiming specifically for the Runways of the Akimonad Bases in the hope to destroy or damage them.

Vetakan Defence Force Naval Ship (VDFNS) New Helgan Flagship VDF 2rd Naval Battlegroup, New Helgan Waters, Vetaka:

"Admiral Sir, Supreme General Alex Johnson reports all Army Forces are aboard and ready for deployment. VDF High Command and VDFMB New Helgan Operations have cleared us to depart. Course is set and link-up with Allied Forces is on schedule." reported XO Davidson.

"Excellent, Single Up All Lines, lets be on our way" spoke Admiral Sam Gerrad from his Chair.

With that the ship and the massive Invasion Fleet of the 2rd Naval Battlegroup slowly begun the long journey to Akimonad. Where Vetaka would remove a very grave threat. The fleet would take weeks to deploy however things would not go cold so easily. Vetaka would launch multiple operations to pave the way for the invasion. The Second Fleet would arrive first as it was already on Peacetime Standown Duties. It would be preceeded by VDF 1st Strategic Strike Group based out of VDFMB Flanders in Honako and the second would be followed by the main Vetakan Force consisting of 3rd and 4th Battlegroups supported by 5th Battlegroup if required.

VDFNS White Rose VDF 1st Strategic Strike Group, VDFMB Flanders, Honako:

The VDF 1st Strategic Strike Group had been on training operations just outside of Honako with the Honakon Navy when the unprovoked attack by Akimonad had occured and as a result the training operation was cancelled and VDF 1st Strategic Strike Group was mobilised it was a small Fleet designed and trained to provide response in all situations that the Vetakan Defence Force could face.

Made up entirely of Forces under the command of VDF Special Operations Command (VDFSOMCOM) the Group had been trained for exactly the kind of task and mission it had been set. With the Akimonad Navy suffering extensive damage from Allied Air Power the VDF 1st Strategic Strike Group's Mission would be to keep up pressure on Akimonad until the main Invasion Force could arrive. As a result the Air wing of the Strike Group would engage Enemy Air Power, Land Forces and Defences and also provide Air Support to the Fleet. The Strike Groups Naval Forces would act as the mobile base and engage the Akimoand Navy if required. However the most important task would lie with the Strike Groups Land Forces they would attempt to gain Strategic Footholds within Akimonad Main they would also proceed to engage the enemy behind enemy lines in the attempt to disrupt communications, disrupt logistics, destroy moral and if possible incite general revolt amongst the populace.

"We are ready" spoke Admiral Holly Short as the Strike Group slowly exited the Flanders Fortification Complex.

From The East Ying Department of Warfare (EYDOW)
This declaration respectfully declares an alliance and offensive/deffensive pact with Vetaka and it's forces.

Official East Ying Declaration of Support for Vetaka and War against the Autocratic Federated Empire of Akimonad

Official Note
Ah, my fellow nation-states. Long have i spoken in the name of peace and tranquility. But under new laws passed today, I have taken a new, more offensive front. I have recently signed a pact with Vetaka, in the war against Akimond. Do not ask why, for that is not of any importance to the case, again i leave you with utmost respect, kindness, and a stir in the air, that leaves my new offensive front among conversation among my people.

Truly yours,

Linyo-Ying President of East Ying

OOC: Any of Akimonad's allies can jump in too right? I don't want to dogpile onto you so I'll be glad to have a total war with another nation. I would back Akimonad but even then I owe Vetaka a blood debt.

Yeah. And it's noncanon, so you can leave your allegiances at the door.
