Boico invades Koenwitz (MT OPEN, ATTN Koenwitz.)

"It has been noted by we, the governing council that the threat from Koenwitz is high. Therfore, Boicoan forces are to be sent to Koenwitz."

Present Day, Shores near Elsztadt, Koenwitz.
The VidrenNieton (VN) were readying themselfs for the attack. There Leader was Captain Schwandt. A man who fought in the revolution. He loved to kill, before he joined the army he was a thug who hung around corners waiting to terrorise the young and the elderly. He and his 49 troops were ready to step into there HawkEye Helicopters. The people of Creipa didn`t even look up as the helicopters flew away, they were so used to war, they just didn`t care any more.

The noise of approaching helicopters didn't bother Private Uwe Gotsch as he made his normal patrol route ontop of the huge concrete casemate of Fort Theodor. So many aircraft were flying in and out these days he'd given up trying to keep track. All eyes were trained inland these days. Below his feet the battery crew were trying to figure out a way of dismounting the huge 420mm cannon so they could shipped, somehow, to the front in Urscreenhere. Gotsch stopped and lit up a cigarette. He watched the helicopters as they flew past him. His brow furrowed. The silhoutte wasn't one that he recognized. Not that that worried him particularly, friendly nations were sending in support all the time. One of the leading helicopters banked and hovered above the sandbank about 1/2 a kilometre away from the battery. Gotsch thought he saw something fall out of the helicopter. He turned, heading back for the radio hut ontop of the bunker. As he did, a silent bullet scythed through his back. He was dead before he hit the concrete.
The war with Cyonist Boico had begun.
Allright men, our job is to secure a landing area for the rest of the invasion force, not to fight the war ourselfs. Try and keep the killing to a minimum until the main task force get here.
Kawatza Island Air and naval base.
100 Kotowa drop planes were waiting for lift off. Each carrying 50 members of the 1st Cyonist guard. Further down the run way were 162 Zantasa fighter jets that were to fly over Elsztadt and bombard them with bombs. There other job was to protect the drop planes on there journey to Koenwitz.

In the headquarters of the Koenwitzian Army, Major-General Wolfgang Freiser, in command of EASTCOM forceswiped the sweat from his brow. It had been a bad few months, and things were taking a turn for the worse. The coastal defence battery at Fort Theodor had reported unidentified soldiers were attempting to storm it, and there were also reports of unidentified aircraft dropping paratroops behind Elzstadt.
"Have we any declaration of war from anyone, Erich?" Freiser asked his adjutant, who was hunched over a radio set.
"Not yet, Herr General."
Freiser banged his fist on his desk
"I knew it was madness. Would the Field-Marshal listen? Invading Urscreenhere has been the most disastrous step this country has taken for years..."
Freiser was interrupted as the doors to the command room flung open. It was Field-Marshal Kaen, head of state. He looked exhausted. He stormed into the room, eyes burning with rage.
"Wolfgang, what the hell is going on? I ask you to launch a simple little campaign for me, and now this!"
"I'm sorry, Herr Feldmarschall, I..."
"It doesn't matter. What reserves has your command got?"
"We have the Third Heavy Armoured Division, but its currently heading on the road to Urscreenhere..."
"Well for god's sake, order it to turn around, man!."
There was an uncomfortable silence. Kaen tapped his foot.
"Is that it, one armoured division?"
"If there Herr Feldmarschall would give me time..." Fresier was scanning through his computer. Virtually his entire force had been transferred to the other commands, CENT and WESTCOM, which were now deployed in Urscreenhere. The 3rd Armoured was about the only thing left, unless...
"I have it, Herr Feldmarschall!"
"What, what?"
"The 2 new Foreign Combat Brigades, from the Freikorps!"
"What, are you insane!? They are made of Urscreenians! We can't possibly trust them!"
"Against their own kind, perhaps, but against a foreign enemy that could pose a significant threat to them, unlikely!"
Kaen sighed. He seemed even older than normal.
"Very well, deploy your reserves. I'm getting Andreas to get what's left of the 1st Airborne Division flown back from Dorchester as temporary cover. In the meantime I'll get CENTCOM back in country and we'll see what we can do about this mess."
"Very good, Herr Feldmarschall!"
"Well, get to it man, we haven't much time!"

To Whom It May Concern,
Reports are coming from Northern Koenwitz of unlawful landings of foreign troops on the coastal region around Elzstadt. We would request that whatever nation has inserted these troops identify itself and withdraw them immediately, otherwise our two countries will be in a state of war.
We would also request the full support of the international community in removing these foreign aggressors from our peaceful lands.

It would be wise to surrender now, if you do not, then hundreds of your people will die.

Dear Sir,
Pleased as I am to hear that the pyschotic Robert Ozriach has been removed, I am puzzled as to why you wish to wage war against my nation. Our war was with his administration, and if that administration has been removed, as you said it has, then we have no quarrel with you.
However, you have invaded sovereign Koenwitzian territory. If your troops do not withdraw they will be fired upon. No prisoners will be taken. My country has a proud history of resistance to foreign aggression and we will NEVER surrender, least of all to the Cyonist armies. It is you whom I would advise to surrender and withdraw your forces, unless you wish to become embroiled in a war which will drag your nation into the abyss.

The Armed Republic would be glad to aid your forces. However, at the present time our support would be limited to air-dropped small arms, as our armed forces must withdraw from a previous conflict in order to fully engage the Cyonist forces. You missunderstand me, he was removed, the cyonist government and all it`s laws remane. We consider your nation as threat, this is because you (or one of you generals) stated after you removed your troops from my nation that if the old government tried to regain control you would help them.

Very well then, sir. I had hoped that the removal of Ozriach would have meant a gradual reduction of the Cyonist dogma in your affairs. However, if this is not the case, then I stand by what I said when I withdrew my troops from Boico last summer. We will endeavour to assist all anti-government forces in Boico, particularly in light of your illegal invasion of our state. Furthermore, I will personally ensure that your forces in Koenwitz are utterly crushed, and then, sir, I shall lead my troops across the waters that separate our two countries and take them to the burning ruins of your capital where I shall, PERSONALLY, have you shot.
A state of total war exists between our two countries. I would advise you surrender immediately and restore the lawful government of Boico to avoid the unnecessary deaths of your citizens.

In Elzstadt the distant crackle of small arms fire had drawn civilians out on the streets. Hushed and worried voices began to fill the air. At the same time, the noise of approaching jet engines grew louder. Nobody paid particular attention to those, other than looking up at the sky irritably for the noise was drowning out the sound of battle. However, they soon had cause to look up when the dockyards started exploding.
Two squadrons of enemy fighter-bombers screamed over the dockyards, dropping their payloads with frightening accuracy. Within minutes, half of the feldgling Koenwitizian navy was sinking in the harbour. The civilians fled into their houses and down into the cellars, built in the 1980s, as the bombs started to fall on the residential areas.
On the road outside Elzstadt, the young recruits of the 1st/6th Foreign Combat Brigade watched with horror as the city burst into flame. Their officers grimaced, ordered them to dismount, and lead through the inferno. Now the ack-ack guns on the coastal batteries started firing. It was too late. The fighters had disappeared back into the night.
OOC: Can we have a history and reasons for this conflict please?

The United Federal Republic frowns upon the actions of Boico. While we do not know much about your histories or why this is going on, if we find you in the right upon thorough investgation, we will declare our support for you, as this invasion by Boico is stupid, pointless, unannounced, and barbaric.
We wish to send, if we find you in the right, diplomatic aid, and possibly military aid if the need is felt.
Boico and it's stupid actions are both illegal and immoral, and, even if you are partly in the wrong, you still have our support. Boico is another nation that thinks itself big and intelligible. These people, with their IQs of 1, need to be taught a lesson.

We thank you for your kind words and offer of support. The Armed Republic of Koenwitz has been illegally invaded by the Cyonist Dominion of Boico due to our military deployment to that country during its recent civil war. At the time, we were supplying aid to the legitimate government of President Jack Ondrinhow, who was fighting a war against Cyonist guerrillas. Unfortunately, despite our deployment, we were unable to prevent the Cyonists from severely weaking the Boicoian Army and taking over the country, and withdrew from the country in summer 2007. We have had no further involvement with the Cyonist state of Boico until this recent unpleseantness.
We would be more than happy to accept any aid you are willing to offer to us, and thank you once again for your condemnation of this illegal invasion.

The CDB landing zone, near Elzstadt.
The 2nd and 3rd battalions of the cyonist guard were staying at the drop zone along with the VN to secure an area were CDB troops could land. The other battalions marched towards Elzstadt, to capture the city and eliminate any opposition.
CDB War Room, Creipa:
"Damn, why do other nations find it neccesary to interfere. If Koenwitz hadn`t of helped our old government this would never have happened anyway. Now another nation declares war on us for invading a nation of which it has never had any involvement with !"
"Sir, maybe if we evacuate the troops now, maybe Koenwitz and..."
"We will not evacuate the troops !" The mood was dismal in the war room. at first, most of the Chairman`s ministers were happy about the war, revenge, for all the wrongs done to them during the civil war. But now, now it looked as though this was the end for Boico, or at least, Cyonist Boico.

Western Outskirts of Elzstadt, Near the Coastal Defence Sector
The Urscreenian men of the 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion moved slowly through the tall grass field that lead towards the Theodor battery. Behind them, Elzstadt burned, heavily bombed. However, more men were on the way. They could hear the rumble of tank tracks as the advance elements of the 3rd Armoured Division arrived to support them.
From the battery roof, a machine gun opened fire. The men fell into the tall grass for cover. Leading the battalion, Major Hermann Priem struggled for his radio as bullets whipped around him. His men moved forward through the grass on their bellies, getting up occasionally to launch a volley of covering fire from their rifles.
"This is 1 F-R, Fort Theodor is in the hands of the enemy, over." Priem had to yell into the radio.
"Roger, 1 Foxtrot Regina, hold your position. Will direct fire from the other batteries onto that position, over"
"Roger." Priem got up.
"All right men, hold your positions, rounds incoming!"
The Urscreenians ducked back into the grass. The machine gun continued firing, yellow tracer bullets sycthing into the fresh grass. One man yelped and rolled onto his back, a bullet hole in the top of his head.
A few moments later a distant whistle was heard by the battalion. Priem smiled. Sure enough, an almighty shower of earth and concrete erupted in front of them. The 420mm guns from the supporting batteries were showering the enemy bridgehead. The noise was indescribable. Priem got up as the last clods of earth had landed.
"All right men, CHARGE!"
800 Urscreenians lifted themselves from cover, some wielding rifles, some wielding the traditional Screenian kukri blade, and went screaming into the enemy.
Casain, General of the 6th battalion couldn`t believe what he saw. The men a few ranks behind him were being hit with huge shells, while infront of him he had about 800 mad-men charging at his battalion with rifles and nasty looking swords. "Hold and fire !" The battalion stopped in it`s tracks, the troops got down to there knees and lifted there rifles and began to fire at the charging army. It reminded Casain about the ancient battles he`d learned about in school. When the Uphria Boicoand army used to battle with <barbarian> tribes all over the region. Only the enemy he was facing had rifles as well. As the enemy hit the first rank of the battalion, Casain wondered were the other battalions were, they were right behind him when his battalion left.
Further down the road, nearer the coast.
"Control, control. We need instant air support over." The TigerHawk helicopters lifted up off the ground, they zoomed over the Boicoan troops and the machine gunners in the helicopters began to open fire on the Urscreenians.

As the 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion charged Fort Theodor, three sleek helicopters swept overhead. The door gunners opened fire on the hordes as they slammed into the thin line of Boicoian troops defending the bunkers. It was not enough. The screaming Urscreenians hacked their way through the terrified Boicoian troops with blades and rifle butts. Major Priem lead a small platoon into the bunkers, and they fought their way towards the big guns with rifle fire, grenades and bayonets.
By the time it was over, the field outside the bunker was littered with bodies from both sides. But a Koenwitzian flag was flying from the bunker's roof. The helicopters hovered menacingly outside, snipers and door gunners picking off any stragglers. They had the 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion, or what was left of it, pinned down inside the bunker. Help was on the way for both sides. Which would make it first?
As the 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th battalions marched over the small hill, they could see the bunker. A Koenwitz flag was flying from the roof but three Boicoan helicopters were hovering overhead. "Move to the bunker, secure the area again. We must secure a landing zone !" The 200 men moved towards the bunker, preparing themselfs for the carnage that was to come.
President Pierce had recieved the reply. It was all he needed.
He called a meeting in the War Room for 1500 hours.
-----
"Right. We got this message from Koenwitz -"
He tapped a button on his dell laptop and the message appeared on the projection screen on the wall.
"- There, have a good read. As was my idea, we send some help to them. Diplomacy doesn't cut it with governments like that of Boico, so we have only one real choice"
The Defence Secretary, David McCrawley, spoke up.
"In the name of democracy, blow their heads off with guns"
"Yes. Now, I've made up my mind, so let's not argue about this because you know you all agree with me deep down. Now, ideas?"
"Airborne? Land them inside some Koenwitzian airfields, so we'll be well recieved. Wait for the others to land and then kill these Boico people"
"Yes. Shall we say three divisions? I know it's a lot, but we're not gonna take Chances like in Trivalvia"
McCrawley made some notes and handed them over to Pierce.
5th Airborne, 3rd Armoured (currently on rapid-deployment status), 20th Armoured (ditto). Cool name - 'Antigran-Koenwitz Expeditionary Force' A.K.E.F.
"Yes, that's good. Send the Koenwitzians a telegram. Give them the details of the divisions - that's 18000 men each for the armoured and about 15500 for the airborne - tell them their division names. The commander will be General Korlitz. Fred, see that it's done. I want those divisions en-route as soon as we're allowed to send them. Make sure they send a reply, we need more info"
At Katua air base, there were 200 drop planes. Each carrying 50 men. There were also 500 Fighter jet`s preparing for another bombing raid. 250 of them heading back to Elzstadt, the others were heading to Koenburg.

In the Army headquarters, Field-Marshal Kaen and his son Andreas studied the telegram from Antigr, offering assitance. In the corner of the room, Major-General Kurt Ertz, stood with a grimace. The elder Kaen looked up.
"Well, Kurt?"
"I'm not sure, Herr Feldmarschall."
"Not sure about what? Three divisions would buy us time. Foreign forces, at that."
"I know, Herr Feldmarschall, but that's a significant force deployment."
The Field-Marshal turned to his son.
"What's the state of forces at the current time?"
"II Jager Corps is moving up to the invasion area. 3rd Armoured and two brigades of the Freikorps are already in position. 1st Airborne is emplaning in Dorchester. I can have the 9th Volksgrenadiers in position by tomorrow. The rest will take time."
"Very well, I'll draw a line in the middle. Tell them to deploy their armoured units. Thank them kindly for the airborne troops, but given the state of our ack-ack gunners..." The Field-Marshal smirked, "I don't want to risk an international incident."
Ertz smiled. "Very good, Herr Feldmarschall."
---------------------
At Fort Theodor the battle had heightened. The 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion was reduced to 150 men. They had fought like devils, but the Boicoians were slowly pushing them back, in spite of the heavy artillery fire from the other bunkers. One thought filled Major Priem's head - where were the other battalions? Where was the help they needed?
From outside he heard the rumble of tracks. The thud of high-velocity cannons penetrated the thick walls of the casemate. Priem felt his heart lift. The 3rd Armoured had arrived.
Meanwhile, in Elzstadt the fighter-bombers returned. This time the gunners were ready for them. A cloud of ack-ack fire raised up to meet them. Tens of broken birds smashed into the ruins of the dockyards. The remainder continued on through the storm. As the second force headed for Koenburg, the 111th Fighter Squadron - the "Screaming Blackbirds" rose up to meet them. Although massively outnumbered, they were the only thing standing between the enemy planes and the capital.
Everyone would be flown in on a plane. And this already is an international incident.

Re: Deployment
Firstly I would like to thank you for your willingness to deploy your troops to Koenwitz in order to stem the Boicoian invasion. Please direct your cargo aircraft to Elzenborn Airfield in southern Koenwitz. The government thanks you for your offer of an airborne division, but feels, at the present time, with enemy aircraft filling our skies, that they would be better either being deployed at a later time or being deployed to Koenwitz to be used as ground troops. We do not wish to take risks which may result in Antigran aircraft being accidently shot down by Koenwitzian gunners. However, feel free to deploy your forces as and when you see fit. I will require a liason officer from your expeditionary force for Koenwitz Army Headquarters.
A note on the current battle situation - at the present time the enemy has heavily bombarded our only port city, Elzstadt, and we have sustained heavy civilian casualties. An airborne landing force has attempted to seize our largest coastal defence and the beaches around it, presumably to pave the way for larger amphibious landings. Our forces have them penned in in this area and we have armour deploying to eliminate them. However, the enemy has sent a large fighter/bomber force to our nation and is attempting to bomb our largest cities. This is not having an effect on our own deployment, but is obviously detrimental to civilian morale. We do not know what further land forces are enroute from Boico.
Thank you once again for your support.
Sincerely,
Colonel-General Andreas Kaen
Chief of Staff,
Army of Koenwitz
The CDS Belmarado was one of the best ships in the Boicoan navy. While the troops in Koenwitz were holding back the koenwitz forces, a landing force of 56 battleships (15000 landing troops) was preparing to set sail. Even though they would not be ready for three days, if the troops could hold the koenwitz back, then Boico would have a foothold into Koenwitz.
(OOC: Last post until I go away for the weekend, sorry!)
No time for an IC, but the airborne would be used as ground forces anyway. We usually include airborne whenever troops are flown in on a plane - so there's at least 1 para on a plane. Simply 'cos they have the know-how.
Our representative will be Brigadier-General Yussex.

IC:
Fort Theodor, once the symbol of Koenwitz's new military power, was now little more than a pile of rubble. The twisted barrels of its two 420mm cannons poked out of the wreckage, a mute testament to the heat of battle. Bodies were strewn everywhere. The Pz-69 tanks of the 3rd Armoured Division had to move at high speed to ensure that the corpses their tracks squashed were ejected quickly before they jammed in the drive mechanism. Several burning hulks littered the field, including those of the three Boicoian helicopter gunships, and several shattered Pz-69s.
Major Priem, his uniform coated in blood, his face black with cordite and smoke, sat near the rubble and the body of his adjutant, quietly smoking a cigarette. One of the tanks, covered in infantrymen, drew to a halt nearby, and another officer hopped and walked over. It was Major Tomasz Pfinch, commanding the 2nd Foreign Rifle Battalion. He sat down next to Priem.
"Tough fight, Uwe?"
Priem raised his eyebrows sarcastically.
"Does it look like we had a walk in the park?"
Pfinch smiled.
"Colonel wanted me to get a sitrep from you."
Priem removed the cigarette and held it in front of him. His eyes seemed to glaze over.
"Fort Theodor clear of enemy. They counterattacked, but we beat them off, thanks to them," he gestured to the tanks crawling past.
"Casualties?"
"Total."
"What?"
"I've got perhaps enough men to fill a platoon, not including myself, that is." Priem grimaced. "Those Urscreenians sure knew how to fight."
Pfinch got up and dusted his uniform down.
"Yes, well, plenty more where they came from."
"What's it like in Elzstadt?"
"Clear of enemy, but the place is a mess."
"Any enemy remaining?"
"Yup, still holding a bridgehead just a bit further along the coast. Intel reckons they've got landing ships on the way."
Priem struggled to his feet, unholsted his sidearm, and stood to attention before Pfinch.
"If the Herr Major wouldn't mind, the survivors of 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion request permission to accompany him."
Pfinch smiled and shook his head.
"Whatever, Uwe, you earned it."
The two men mounted up on the tank and headed off to the beaches, from where the crackle of gunfire was growing louder.
Diplomatic Communique to All Involved Parties in Koenwitz-Boico Conflict:
The People's Socialist Republic of Russkya currently maintains an Embassy in Koenburg as we have for quite some time. It is to be made clear to the aggressor - considered to be Boico - that any action taken that results in the wounding or death of Russkyan personnel or the damage or destruction of the Embassy, will be taken as casus belli and an act of war.
Further, the People's Socialist Republic applauds the admirable efforts of Antigr in coming to the aid of the unjustly attacked nation of Koenwitz.
Should the Embassy be damaged or destroyed by aggressor forces, due to force deployments elsewheres in the world, the Russkyan Military would have little recourse but to respond with use of the Strategic Rocket Forces.
OOC: 200 Battleships? Boico, you may want to diversify your forces slightly. Apologies to Koenwitz if you've considered the embassy to be inactive, I know that we've had little communication between now and when it was first built. Contrary to popular belief, I do keep track of what's happening where I have diplomatic personnel.

We thank you for your kind words of support. Rest assured the Army of Koenwitz, particularly the Koenwitz Leibstandarte Regiment and its support arms, will take the utmost steps to ensure the security of not only the Russkyan embassy but all foreign embassies and their staff in Koenburg. All available fighters have been scrambled to meet the enemy bomber threat, and if these fail to prevent the enemy from breaking through, the large flak towers and other anti-aircraft artillery emplacements in the city will ward off the rest. We hope that this will allay your fears, and if you wish to withdraw your embassy staff, temporarily, from Koenburg, helicopters are standing by to fly them to Theodorplatz airfield where aircraft will be ready to fly them immediately back to Russkya. We hope that you will not have to resort to the use of strategic rocket forces.

Lieutenant General G. Josch:
I appreciate your offer to evacuate the embassy personnel immediately. Although well aware of the defensive measures in place in Koenburg, it has been deemed nessecary to evacuate all but the most crucial personnel. It is believed that our trust in your defences is not misplaced, and as thus Ambassador Pisaryev and a communications and encryption staff of five will remain, with their ten man security detail. They will continue to serve as a useful liason between our two nations.
A nondescript civilian airliner, tail number GFBR-9037, will arrive at Theodorplatz airfield within eight hours. The embassy personnel to be evacuated will be lifted out on this aircraft so as to preserve your own lift capacity. GFBR-9037 will also be carrying a platoon of commando personnel and all associated equipment to supplement the defensive capabilities of primarily the embassy, though available personnel may also supplement the capabilities of the Koenburg Garrison.
GFBR-9037 is also carrying a number of skilled combat aviators from a number of nations who volunteered for service with the private security firm "Red Stone." If you have surplus aircraft to place them in, these fliers will supplement your defenses further. The RMSMC will be making inquiries on behalf of Koenwitz and deliveries of appropriate war materiel will begin as soon as is possible.
With luck, it will not be nessecary to deploy the SRF in an punitive role.

The government understands your concerns and has a helicopter waiting on the platform of the Russkyan embassy waiting to evacuate designated staff the moment GFBR-9037 touches down on Theodorplatz runway. This helicopter will also carry the commando platoon from Theodorplatz back to the embassy. We would advise that the pilot of the airliner does not dither.
We are pleased that your ambassador has chosen to remain, and this has greatly increased the already high regard we hold him in.
Preparations will be made to house the Red Stone personnel. The 111th Fighter Squadron is the only squadron currently based in Koenwitz, the other fighter units of the Army Air Corps still being located in our troubled Western Province of Meyerburg (formerly Urscreenhere), so any available pilots would be welcome to hold the line until these squadrons can be recalled. A delivery of brand new F-1 fighters was expected today from the on-site factory at Theodorplatz, initially intended for deployment to Meyerburg. However, these fighters will be placed at the disposal of the Red Stone fliers as soon as they land. We also have a number of surplus helicopter gunships which could be used if you have trained operators among these personnel.
We cannot thank you enough for your generous support in these difficult times,

The pilot will waste no time on the ground once all personnel and equipment have been transferred. Only six rotary-wing qualified pilots are with the Red Stone fliers, more will be procured in the immediate future.
Please advise on the operability of Elzstadt to recieve vessels and offload heavy goods.

Re: Status of Elzstadt Harbour
Damage to the port facilities is particularly heavy. (Map here (http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i162/Spinechicken/ElzstadtDocksMarked.jpg)) It was obviously the Boicoians' main target during their two air-raids on the city. The fortified dock area which houses our landing craft and amphibious assault craft was attacked with 'bunker buster' weapons which has effectively eliminated Koenwitz's ampibious assault capability. The fortified carrier dock for our single aircraft carrier KNV "Kronprinz Eugen" was also attacked, but recieved only lighter damage, although the carrier will not be able to put to sea for at least a week. The "Schiffsrow" marina, which is capable of supporting up to six battleships or twelve destroyers was not damaged at all, although the KNV "Sieg" was hit and sunk. It's sister ship, the KNV "Koenburg" was putting to sea at the time of the attack and was hit in her stern. Her rudder was destroyed and she drifted into the the far bank of the River Elz estuary where she ran aground.
However, more important for your concern is the status of our large cargo terminal. I'm afraid to say it has sustained very heavy damage and we have the wrecks of at least six merchant vessels both on the terminal and around it, making navigation somewhat treacherous. Although the terminal is still capable of offloading supplies, it will be at least a day before we can clear a channel to it, and even then it will only be capable of 15% of its normal capacity. If you have marine engineers they may be able to speed up the process, as we are a small and relatively inexperienced dockyard.
Thank you for your support,
Regards

Re: Elzstadt Harbour
Within the next four days you will be recieving a total of eighteen large supply vessels flying neutral flags (Germania & Novajev). These vessels will be offloading sensitive materiel. Within two days you will recieve four fleet tugs under Russkyan Naval Ensign who will assist in the clearance of channels throughout the harbour. They are escorted by two Bullfinch-class Frigates (RNV-331 "Bolshoi" & RNV-332 "Mladshiy Lyubov," respectively), the entire group being designated Force K. Upon completion of its task, Force K will be required to return at best possible speed to Russkyan waters.
If required, the war materiel can be offloaded via lifting onto cargo barge and then unloading said barge shoreside. The materiel is containerized for easy transfer.

The government and army thank you unreservedly for your support. At present Elzstadt has not recieved any further aerial attacks and his ground forces are pinched in a pocket near the coastal defence sector further along the estuary. Port clearance teams are working at full capacity but Russkyan help will be invaluable.
Please advise your escort ships to be prepared for enemy airborne, and potentially seaborne assaults. You have permission to open fire on the enemy in Koenwitzian waters if your feel the safety of your ships and their crews will be endangered by rigid adherence to rules of engagement.

Dear Sir,
This news comes as somewhat of a shock to me and my government. So much of a shock that we are having considerable difficulty in believing it. Do you really expect us to think that, in the space of a day, you have removed all vestiges of the virus of Cyonism from your state?
And you offer your apologies? I think they will mean little to the families of the 4,000 civilians who have died in your bombing raids. Or those of the men of my army that have died repelling your invasion forces.
The government of Koenwitz and its allies require concrete, cast-iron proof that a change of government has taken place. If such evidence exists, I will have to consult with the nations of Antigr and Russkya who have so graciously come to our aid.
Then, sir, once our port facilities have been restored, I will be dispatching a second expeditionary force to your country, in a peacekeeping role, in order to ensure that Cyonism is purged once and for all from the state of Boico. I would ask that Russkya and Antigr consider similar moves.
We will also require reparations from your state for the damage caused both to my country and to my army in the engagements we have had with Cyonist forces at home and in Boico.
Sincerely,

However, as you seem willing to accept our reparation terms and the deployment of a peacekeeping force, I can but give you the benefit of the doubt. I will consult with my colleagues. The force will be deployed as soon as possible, details to follow.
We have captured a battalion-sized force of Cyonist Boicoians from the pocket around our coastal defence area, who surrendered to us on hearing of the death of their Chairmen. Major Priem, former commander of the 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion, stood on the top of the turret of a PZ-69, one of several machines that had bottled up the Boicoian prisoners. His command from headquarters had perplexed him, but as he watched the infantry of the 3rd Armoured liberate the sullen prisoners of their weapons and possessions, he started to see the logic.
"Men of Boico!" he shouted. The crowd looked at him dully.
"You are all prisoners of the Armed Republic of Koenwitz. You have trespassed upon our soverign soil, and brought pain and death to our graceful country!"
The crowd started to look away.
"For most of you, your capitivity will be short. You will be taken before the high military court in Koenburg, where you will be sentenced to death!" Priem waggled his finger theatrically.
"Your government has foresaken you. They were more than willing to leave you to your fate! But..."
The crowd looked up again, hope in their eyes.
"You have an opportunity, my friends, to avoid it. If you choose, you can serve us. You will provide the manpower for the 1st Foreign Rifle Battalion. You will be deployed to your homeland, where you will rid yourselves of the evil men that have tried to rule you, and that have so cruelly forsaken you. If you survive, and if you serve us well, you will be granted your freedom!"
The men below Priem started muttering. Smiles crossed their faces. One crossed his. It was time for revenge.

Elzstadt Harbour, North Koenwitz
Adolf Gericht, harbourmaster of Elzstadt, stood on Ruppa Hill and surveyed the dockyard that was spread before him like a sandtable. The smoking wreck of the KNV "Koenburg" stood stark against the green marshland on the opposite bank of the River Elz. The cargo terminal was still dwarfed beneath a thick column of black smoke. The Russkyans had worked miracles, managing to offload their supplies in that hell. Their crusiers stood guard at the mouth of the river, their electronic eyes and ears watching for any attackers. Gericht was full of admiration for their navy. The new batteries they brought with them had been set up in the dock area, covering a now-empty sky. The enemy bombers had fled. Word was, the government in Boico had collapsed. But Gericht knew it wouldn't be over that easily. He put out his pipe and walked slowly off the hill, back to his headquarters, where he was to beginning planning for the deployment of the 3rd Koenwitz Expeditionary Force.
"Hell of a year," he muttered to himself.
-----------------
Coastline near New Orlando, Boico
Colonel Wilhelm Student clasped the harness of his parachute and watched as the enemy coast grew beneath his feet. He had tumbled out of a specially-modified KV-52 transport aircraft at 20,000 feet, along with the rest of Erika Company, 1st Koenwitz Airborne Regiment. He hit the ground with a thump that shuddered his spine. Quickly he gathered up his chute and moved to the assembly area, where slowly the battalion grouped around him.
"Everybody's here, Herr Colonel" said Captain Lothar Hocken, commanding the company.
"Very good, now, we just have to wait for our contact to show up."
There was a rustling in the scrubland behind the men. 120 rifles pointed in the direction. A middle-aged Boico emerged, huffing and puffing. He stopped short when he saw the rifles.
"Please, my friends, don't shoot! I am Huruin."
Student moved past his men and cautiously towards the cowering Boicoian.
"Colonel Wilhelm Student, Freikorps-Koenwitz. You sent for us?"
"Yes, come this way, we have much to do."

"Yes, come this way, we have much to do."
Huruin led the men through the bushes, down a small slope, and into an old camping hut. Once all the men had assembled inside, Huruin layed out a map of Boico.
"This is the situation, the cyonists still have control of the western side of Boico and much of the North. The Imperialists have control of the North East
and we have a growing number of supporters in the south east. Our first target must be the Imperialists in Creipa. If your men can try and create a diversion on the edges of the city, I could get in through the barricades. I have aquired an ID badge from a spy in the new "government". Once inside the government building, I will go into the war room, were Adam Barazan will be planning attacks on the cyonist held areas. Once inside I will detonate a small explosive device, but because the war room is sheltered, everyone inside when that bomb goes off will die... including me. After this operation has been completed, my second in comand, Izav Guitio will be in charge. Now, we need to get to Creipa in three days, so if it`s OK, can we get moving now ?"
Huruin opened a door that led into what looked like a garage, it held three coaches that could hold 80 people each.
(Sorry for inactivity. Computer trouble. (:headbang:) Can we pretend that troops have already landed, considering amount of RP time that has passed?)
President Pierce was in his office, switching between paperwork and a Real Time Strategy PC game.
His phone rang.
"Sir? It's your favourite foreign affairs secretary. Anyway, I've got some things you need to know -"
The 'things he needed to know' went on for ten minutes.
He finally got a word in.
"Wha? I me - uh...What? Oh, uh, mm..right - Boico is no longer cyonist, it's imperialist instead, and they want us to go invade them?"
"And we've only just got there"
"I know, Sarah! I mean - ah, nuts, uh... - oh, just get on the horn to Korlitz, tell them to stay put until everyone's arrived - then go do what the Koenwitzian people tell them to do, I don't want any stupid mistakes on my name. Not that ther'll be any, but - ah, you get the idea. Tell him that if he goes when he's not ready to, I'll have him personally spanked with a cannon. Got that? Good"
He pressed 'Save' on his PC and went to see his defence secretary.

Student frowned at the strange little man before.
"That's not what we came here to do, my friend. Our job is to operate with you to pave the way for a land invasion by Koenwitz and Allied forces. We would want to bring the government to justice, not destroy it in some mad suicide mission."
"Very well," said Huruin, "Then you do what you have to do, we will do what we have to do." He turned and headed towards the buses. Student walked after him and clasped his shoulder.
"You're not going anywhere, little man, you're staying with us. This is your fight as much as ours. You're going to fight. Killing yourself will change nothing. That we've already seen. They'll just put another cardboard dictator up there."
"What do you want to do?"
Student smiled, "Come with me."
------------------
Andreas Kaen stood in the war room in Koenburg, studying a world map. the door opened behind him and General Korlitz, the Antigrian Expeditionary Force commander, was ushered in by his aides.
"Ahh, Herr Korlitz, come in, coffee?"
"No thanks, I don't like caffeine."
"Very well. To business, we are preparing an expeditionary force for immediate dispatch to Boico. With the governmental and civilian unrest this is the perfect time to land and occupy...I mean restore order to the country, don't you think."
"I'm a soldier sir, I'm not paid to think."
The younger Kaen chuckled.
"Very good, very good! You're like us, Herr Korlitz. Consult with your government. We can transport your expeditionary force to Boico along with ours, indeed it will be in the first wave of the assault."
Korlitz clicked his heels together, saluted and walked stiffly out of the room.
(He did? Aww, I like caffeine)
After their conversation, Korlitz had a decision to make.
Would he go charging in with his allies? Or do his own thing?
There was only one obvious answer.
All AKEF forces would attack as one.
They would go in, supported by attack 'copters and artillery, in vehicles and shoot all the baddies. He'd go back home, get a medal, grab a sandwich and go off to the next war.
No plan lasts five minutes in a battle. Remember Murphy's laws of combat. And do it all anyway.
He jumped in a Jeep and sped off to tell everybody. They'd move when everyone else did.
There was one concern on his mind - what if they went too far and took over the bloody country? Permenantly? Well, it's his duty to say no. Until then, die, enemies.
OOC: Whats the bump for ? :p
@Koenwitz: is the perfect time to land and occupy...I mean restore order to this thread is getting more interesting every post :)

Highway 75, south of Crepia, Boico
Colonel Student licked his bone-dry lips and surveyed the steaming highway through his binoculars. It looked clear. He lowered his binoculars and looked over to the scrubland on his right. Waving his arm in a circle, he then gestured towards the road. Five airborne engineers emerged from the scrub, doubled over and scuttled onto the highway, where they proceeded to lay a line of satchel charges. Student continued his survey until the buzzing of his earpiece interrupted him.
"Student, go."
"Herr Oberst, Erika 5, enemy column sighted, approaching fast. Few tanks in there with them."
"Very good Erika 5, hold position and prepare to engage." Student flicked a switch on his radio. "All units, get to firing positions. No-one engages until I give the signal. Make the first shot count, boys."
Student then whistled at the engineers and called them back into cover. He flicked the safety off on his Gew-60 and waited. Slowly, he could feel the rumbling of tank treads vibrating through the earth. Student skulked lower against the ground, hoping the scrubby bush would cover him.
After an agonising five minutes, the convoy appeared. An element of some Boicoian mechanized infantry division, doubtlessly of dubious loyalty, on its way south to mop up the Cyonists, or perhaps even to join them. The column was led by several jeeps and mid-way by a number of battered medium tanks. Four trucks packed with troops made up the rear. As the tanks approached the mined section of the highway Student patted the engineer chief on the shoulder. The chief primed the charges. As the tanks rolled over the charge, Student punched the chief. He twisted the detonator. The tanks disappeared in a plume of fire and dirt that made every man's ears ring with a thousand trumpets. The dust cleared, and Student, choking looked up to see the convoy stopped, scattered around a huge crater. The stunned Boicoian troops were getting out of the trucks, wandering about. Student flicked the radio.
"All units, go go go!"
120 rifles opened fire. The Boicoians were cut down in their tracks. Not one had a chance to fire back. The firefight was over as soon as it started. Student got up off out of the dirt and strolled over to the burning highway, now strewn with corpses, cradling his rifle under his arm. He wandered over to one of the burning tanks, got a cigarette from his pocket, and lit it on the flames. As he took a satisfied puff, Huruin emerged from the cover.
"What on earth are you doing, Colonel?"
Student smirked.
"Fighting your war."
------------------------
In the conference room in the Presidential Palace, Field Marshal Kaen stood at the head of a table arranged around which were the heads of the Army and its various arms, and General Korlitz. He turned to his son.
"Andreas, what have you come up with?"
"If repairs to Elzstadt continue, we will be able to dispatch an Expeditionary Force to Boico within three days."
"Very good. The plan?"
"We're still working on it sir, but it would seem that the west coast would be the ideal location to land. The cyonists have been removed by our Boicoian friends, and Erika Company are starting to get the government's attention. We should catch them unawares."
"Order of battle?"
"We'll deploy the 4th Airborne Division and the Antigrian Airborne Division first, to clear the beaches, then land with regular infantry to establish and hold the beachhead. There's a large airfield within the beachhead, if we can clear that we can fly in the Antigrians and more infantry, and get our armour ashore."
"Force deployment?"
"We're looking to deploy the entire Antigrian force, assuming they are happy with that," Andreas looked over to Korlitz, who nodded dully, "and about 200,000 of our troops, five infantry, three armoured, one airborne, in the initial wave at least. The Army Air Corps will provide six squadrons of fighters and bombers once we have the airfield, and once the aircraft carrier is up and running again, we'll have the naval air wing to cover the initial assault"
"Good. Well gentlemen, it looks as if we should be able to eliminate the Boicoian threat once and for all." The Field-Marshal picked up his glass of Koenwitzian schnapps from the table, and the men did the same with theirs.
"To Operation Whirlwind! May it bring peace!"
'Antigran' has no second letter 'i'.
Korlitz left as soon as the meeting was over. He had work to do. Jumping into a GPL Jeep, he sped off towards the antigran camp to tell the others. He would have to call Koenwitzian command and ask them what time they'd be leaving. Packing up an entire camp would take time.
(OOC. Koenwitz: Glad I could be of help here, but due to other commitments I'm going to have to bow out of this RP. I'll use this post to withdraw Force E and the fleet tugs, assume that the SAM systems came with a goodly supply of missiles, detailed instructions on manufacturing your own [as well as blueprints for the systems themselves and how best to set up a factory to manufacture everything involved in the platforms], that the full Embassy staff was returned, financial aid offered to help rebuild Koenwitz, and that things are progressing as normal.)
The grey ocean's waves were slight, slapping against the painted steel of the Bullfinch-class frigate's hulls. "Bolshoi" was in the lead of the short length convoy of fleet tugs, "Mladshiy Lyubov" travelling at ahead standard behind the convoy, darting out to either side on occassion for any one of a multitude of precautions.
Long gone were the large merchantmen who had delivered the plethora of antiaircraft systems. The Embassy was in working order, a full staff there once again, the platoon of commandos aboard "Bolshoi," currently belowdecks re-storing gear, coordinating with the ship's company, practicing damage control and counterboarder drills.
Prior to leaving, the commanding officer of the Bolshoi had presented the Harbourmaster of Elzstadt with a battle-pennant from his ship's flag locker. Nestled away in various parts of the crew's quarters were bottles of cognac and schnapps from a brief shore leave they'd enjoyed prior to departure.
"Force K" would return to Russkya in five days travelling at their leisurely pace, all hands pleased that they'd been a part of the successful defence of Koenwitz from the Boican aggressor.

OOC: Many thanks Russkya. We hope to repay our debt to you one day.
IC:
As Force "K" departed back to Russkya, the radar operator on the "Bolshoi" reported a large concentration of ships moving away from them. This was Koenwitz Flotilla "R" or Revenge. Thirty cargo ships escorted by the battleships "Elzstadt" and "Sieg", and followed by the flottilla that escorted the aircraft carrier "Prinz Eugen" moved out of the Elz estuary and headed towards Boico. Following close behind, and gradually overtaking them, a vast armarda of transport aircraft carrying the Koenwitzian 1st and 4th Airborne Divisions and the Antigran Airborne Division, moving to pave the way for the landings. Whizzing far ahead, two squadrons of bombers prepared to attack enemy communications. The Boicoians were going to reap the whirlwind. Back in Koenburg's Presidential Palace, Field-Marshal Kaen smiled as he watched the progress of his assault force on the monitors.
We'd have our own planes and helicopters, as well as fighters and stuff like that.
You know, Koenwitz? Something's been nagging me. How you RP other people's forces and characters and stuff. Those are other people's, and as such you controlling them is godmodding. This is not tolerated by anybody here and won't get you much praise. Has to be said.

27-10-2007, 19:18
OOC:
I think that's a tad harsh, Antigr. If I used other's forces in a way that would be of great, war-winning benefit to me or of significant detriment to them, I would agree with you. Perhaps you could argue I did with the battle at Fort Theodor, but Boico had inserted only a small force, and I was anticipating a much larger and more difficult struggle for my country than the one that occured given what forces the Cyonists seemed to be massing. I would have been happy to fight to the steps of the Presidential Palace in Koenburg and fight a long resistance war had it come to that.
I include the forces and characters of other nations in order to keep the story flowing and never intentionally to win the war for me. If you do not believe that, I included some foreign characters and forces in posts during my last deployment to Boico and still ended up fleeing the Cyonists with my tail between my legs - which led on to this interesting conflict.
Your characters were included to speed up the flow of the thread and hope that I left the posts where I included them open-ended enough for you to opt out of any military offensives - and I did not intend to include them once they are on the ground in Boico - but I shall leave them alone from now on. If Boico was/is unhappy with me including his characters/forces - again used for setting scenarios and keeping the story flowing and I do not think to great detriment to him - the convoy that was blown up was a single unit with limited impact on the war - I would hope he would tell me and I will adjust my writing accordingly. I'm more than happy, particularly in the coming invasion, to RP scenes where my own characters suffer to great detriment at the hands of the Boicoians which makes for a more interesting war.
I've been playing this thing for a reasonable time now and have fought in several conflicts, and you're the first one to complain. Has to be said.
I just see your methods..unorthodox.
In all my one and a half years of RP'ing, I've never seen anyone do that.
OOC: I think Koenwitz RP`s well. If every character had to be played out by different people, it would take a week to finish the conversation! I for one have no problem with Koenwitz Rping my characters, as it speeds up the RP.
No time for an IC post but I`d just like to say, government troops are fed-up and with <persuasion> will help you. But Cyonists are still loyal and will fight to the death.

Sorry for all the bumping, but is this thread going anywhere or is it dead? If it is, at least say so.

The beaches of western Boico were among the most stunning in the world. On most days. Today, to the men of the of the Regimental Combat Teams of the 2nd Jaeger and 3rd Infantry Divisions and the 1st Independent Infantry Brigade, they looked as grim as the Elz estuary in darkest winter. Scrub obscured much of the view inland, beyond the silvery sand of the beach. Behind the men, crouched down in their tiny landing craft, rolling awkwardly in the swell, the huge guns of the KNV "Sieg" and "Elzstadt" started pounding the landing areas. Overhead, the transport aircraft carrying the 1st and 4th Airborne Divisions moved to their target areas inland.
The first landing craft to hit the shore was LCI 44 on Dorchester Beach, carrying men from the 7th Infantry RCT of 3rd Division. The men raced out from the ramp and spread out on the beach as their comrades fell in behind them. There was no movement ahead, just the swishing of the sea wind. One of the sergeants ordered a scout forward. The nervous private crawled slowly forward towards the scrub. As he took a final step onto the grassy soil, a mine exploded, severing his leg. That was when all hell broke loose.
Cyonist troops had dug bunkers into the sand, and now flung aside the covers to pour devastating machine gun fire onto the men of the 7th Infantry Regiment. The regimental C/O started to call for naval gunfire support, but was cut down as he yelled into the radio. The men were quickly pinned down and mortars started to fall.
Further north, on Theodor Beach, the men of the 1st Independent Brigade had an easy landing. There was no opposition, and they swiftly moved inland, trying to find the main highway to Crepia and link up with the troops of the 1st Airborne Division.
Further south, on Black Beach, the 3rd Jaeger RCT landed on an open, empty beach, defended only by a few pillboxes. The regimental commander, Colonel Fritzsk, stepped off his landing craft and watched his men spread out to cover the coast. He raised the megaphone he had in his hand.
"Men of the Boico Government Forces! We are your allies! Do not open fire! We are here to help you!"
A shabbily-dressed soldier emerged from the corner of the blockhouse. He raised his hand to wave, but a nervous Jaeger trooper shot him. The pillboxes opened fire on the Jaegers, who then had to spend an hour clearing them out. As they moved inland, government troops, formerly Cyonist troops, starting deserting, throwing down their weapons and welcoming the Koenwitzians as if they were liberators. Colonel Fritszk sent them back to the beach.
The 4th Airborne Division was spread widely over eastern Boico, thanks to Cyonist flak fire. It would take at least a day to re-assemble the division. Small pockets started forming on Highway 75, sending government troops on their way and ambushing Cyonist columns. The 1st Airborne Division, although not as widely scattered, found itself embroiled in heavy fighting once it reached the outskirts of Cyonist-held Crepia.
The battle still hung in the balance.
EDIT: Invasion Map available: http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i162/Spinechicken/BoicoInvasionMap.jpg
The Antigran Airborne had landed by air.
Captain Duncan was the first man to hit the soil and disconnect his parachute. He quickly raised his PT-3 SMG, ready for action.
A lone cyonist trooper burst out or the bushes, brandishing an assault rifle.
Before he had time to fire, Duncan raised the SMG and emptied five rounds into the man's chest.
Some blood spurted out, and he fell back, dead.
Men were dropping all around Duncan. As soon as he'd gathered a Battalion, which wouldn't take long due to precision of the drop (HARM and chaff had been used heavily against missiles, and the pilots knew, due to their speed, that flak would never hit them so they just kept on going), they'd move out and capture the nearest village.
The beaches of western Boico were among the most stunning in the world. :) Thanks !
Just one thing though, the side of Boico your landing on according to the map is the east.

Ahh, well, y'see, in Koenwitzian, east is west and west is east, y'see. I didn't get my directions messed up, honest...
IC:
Colonel-General Kaen (the younger) sat in the back of his T-69 jeep and purused the map on his lap. Outside, the noise of struggling tank engines was distracting him. The first tanks of the 2nd Light Armoured Division were being put ashore by LCT. Unfortunately, they'd never been built with beaches in mind, and so three Pz-69 mediums were stuck uselessly in the sand, their tired crews scattered around them looking fed up.
There was a knock on the door of the jeep. Kaen opened the door.
"What?" he said, without looking up.
"Herr Colonelgeneral, I think you should read this."
Colonel Fritsk stuck the Cyonist note under Kaen's nose. Kaen read it, and snorted in derision.
"Well, this is quite a turn of events, eh Colonel?"
"Indeed, Herr Colonelgeneral."
"All right, well we may as well make life easier for ourselves. Get a note written in response, tell those idiots to surrender. I don't trust them, whatever they say."
"Very good, Herr Colonelgeneral."
"Fritszk, before you go, I want you to take your regiment here," Kaen pointed to Almitsao.
"On our own? That's a hell of a march."
"Yes, but I'll send some armour to support you, when it gets off the goddamned beach."
"We'd be awfully exposed."
"Oh for god's sake, Fritsk, stop thinking Koenwitzian. These fools are so messed up they're more likely to shoot each other rather than us. Which would save us a lot of time..."
"Very good, Herr Colonelgeneral."
Fritszk departed to join his men. Kaen swapped the map for a laptop computer and started typing a message back home while more tanks struggled to get off the beachhead. Further inland, on Highway 75, the Boicoian general sat very still in his bullet-riddled jeep, as Koenwitzian paratroopers approached with weapons raised.
"Please, I've been sent to negoiate for the government..."
The paratroopers dragged him out of the car, bound and gagged him, and dragged him through the sand to a Jeep to take him to the imperious Colonel-General Kaen.

The Koenwitz Expeditionary Force requires no help from you, sir. However, we would be willing to spare you and your men torture at the hands of your corrupt government. As a condition for your safe removal to Koenwitz, all your men in Boico must lay down their arms and surrender to Koenwitzian, or Antigran troops. However, be advised that we do not, as yet, know the position of the Antigrans vis a vis your group, so be advised that they may not be so understanding as our men. Your men will be taken to temporary holding areas in the BLA beachhead for further evacuation to Koenwitz.
If you wish to discuss the matter, I will be arriving in Almitsao with an advanced scout group in the next 2-3 days, and can escort you to my field commander.

We have secured two of our three beaches in Boico and all appears to be going well. We have sent a communique to the Cyonists to ask them to surrender to us - I assume your government will be willing to take prisoners? If not, please pass them onto us.
What is your situation? Please advise how and when we can linkup with you. We want to get moving inland as soon as possible,

Re: Invasion of Boico.
Dear father,
Everything is proceeding well. The airborne divisions have secured the key sections of the east coast highway and have not, as far as I am aware, suffered heavier than expected casualties. The 7th Infantry RCT, however, is still pinned down by Cyonists on Dorchester Beach, just south of Crepia, and we are now pounding the area with naval gunfire and aerial bombardment, but we have had a communique from the Cyonist commander who wishes to join forces with us! I have told him to surrender his forces, so hopefully the fighting on Dorchester Beach, and the battles 1st Airborne are facing in Crepia will be over soon.
On Theodor Beach our men appear to be making good progress and have captured the northeastern peninsula of Boico, and are now moving south to aid the troops around Crepia. They are fighting a unit of Cyonists around an old airfield in the peninsula which, if captured, will provide us with a forward operating base for the bomber squadrons.
Provided the enemy does not get wise to us, and counterattacks with armour, we will have this country in our grasp before too long.
I am not sure of the Antigran situation, but have written a communique to their force commander to find out.
Sincerely,
Andreas

Korlitz was appreiciative of modern technology, and almost always carried a laptop on him.
He had just happened to open it up to check if anything was happening, when he received a copy of the communique. He sent a reply. First, he typed up the addressee and such at the top, then began the main body.
General Kaen,
Thank you for getting in touch with us. It would appear, from our calculations, that the central area of our drop zone was about fifteen miles west of your most westerly forces at Theodor Beach. it may take some time to link up with you.
I will get to the point. We are willing to take prisoners, as we respect highly the Geneva Convention. Also, I will be up front with the troops doing my duties of command. Thus, links with me may be slow. I wish to refer you to Brigadier-General Yussex, the assigned liason officer between us for fast coomunications. However, hugely important information you wish to send direct to me will be more than welcome. We will fight eastwards towards your positions at Theodor Beach from now. Hopefully, expect us soon. Our men will be briefed about this new cyonist breakoff group, and will take prisoners.

My dear Korlitz,
Excellent news, we are glad your troops have landed safely. Advise General Yussex that, should you require it, the A.K.E.F. can make full use of our naval gunfire support and airstrikes from fighter-bombers based on the KNV "Prinz Eugen" aircraft carrier.
We are glad you are willing to take prisoners. As they do not wish to be repatriated once the conflict is over, you may do with them as you see fit, or pass them over to us. All members of the Cyonist party are considered criminals by our government, and any captured by us will be processed for trial back in Koenwitz - though only high-ranking members face execution.
The troops fighting westwards from Theodor Beach are from the 1st Independent Infantry Brigade, and will shortly be supported by armour from our 2nd Light Armoured Division. Both units have been notified of the linkup and will make every effort to reach you so that we can speed up our movement into the interior Boico. Please notify your troops that they may challenged by Koenwitzian troops with the password "Egg", the reply being "Omelette".
Godspeed with your mission, General, I shall further communicate with Yussex until any significant developments arise.
Sincerely,
Andreas Kaen

Korlitz was just checking on his messages one last time before he left when he recieved the communique. He sent a signal to aknowledge that he'd recieved it, then grabbed his gun and went out.
Yussex stepped out of a communications vehicle to wish him good luck - briefly - then went inside again.
Before he jumped in a combat command vehicle, he quickly briefed his troops on the password that the Koenwitzians had given him, and said 'good luck'

Soon, the airborne and one of the armoured divisions was on the move. They were totally mechanized.
They sped westwards in a giant convoy, destroying anything in their path. Resistance, so far, was only a few gunmen leaping out from behind trees. Most were run over, the rest were shot. Hopefully, there would be no heavy resistance. (Insert something interesting from Boico here)

From Koenwitz News Network:
INVASION OF BOICO WELL UNDERWAY!
Reports from the former United Socialist States of Boico released by the army today indicate that the invasion of the country by our third expeditionary force is going better than expected.
Colonel Kurt Durbovnik, a spokesman for the K.E.F., said that "We have established three strong beachheads in the country and are now concentrating our moves inland."
Colonel Dubrovnik also revealed to us that the Cyonist forces had offered to join forces with the Allies and fight against the current government.
"I cannot comment any further on the negotiations," he said.
"As regard to our Antigran allies, they have made a very successful airborne landing and are driving rapidly inland. We're hoping to link up with them very soon and patrol the countryside."
We'll bring you more on this exciting story as and when it happens.

"Yes sir, but the closest battalion, the 6th, is six hours away. The others will take about a day to reach the beaches."
"Then it just meens we'll have to wait to watch there filthy Koenwitzan blood flow into the sea. Oh and order the squad that was going to meet the Antgrans to fire on them as well, and send the 5th battalion to there landing zone, I want the Koenwitzans and the Antigrans to see that we're no push-overs!"

Staff Sergeant Erik Vorbitsk wiped the sweat off his brow. It was as hot as hell out here. His feet ached from the hard landing he'd had on D-Day, and the hours of walking up and down this goddamned highway.
Vorbitsk and his patrol of 15 men from the 4th Airborne Division were walking along Highway 75 in the direction of New Orlando. The sergeant was pissed. Command wanted a recon team to move and make sure the way was clear for the 2nd Light Armored Division to move on the town. 15 guys!? They were nuts.
Vorbitsk gestured at his nervous men to spread out more and carried on moving along the seemingly endless desert highway. He was a salty combat veteran. This would be his fourth war. He'd fought with the Royal Army in the civil war, served as a Corporal in the 2nd Jaeger in the first Boico deployment, fought the Urscreenians with 1st Airborne back in the summer, and now he was here. He hated this goddamned country. He was determined to kill every Boicoian who got in his way - whether friendly or not.
The roar of engines caught the sergeant's attention. He peered down the highway. A column of armoured personnel carriers was speeding towards them. He waved at his men and they took cover on either side of the highway embankment. Vorbitsk stayed on the road, in full contempuous view of the Bocioian vehicles. As the lead vehicle slowed down to approach him, he held his hand up the air, motioning it to slow down. The commander was sitting up in the turret, an assault rifle on his lap. The stocky APC drew to a halt mere inches in front of the sergeant. It was a government vehicle, which meant things should have been ok, but Vorbitsk had a bad feeling.
"Where you headed, trooper?" asked the Boicoian officer.
"I might ask you the same question, sir."
"Ah, well, that would be telling."
Vorbitsk stiffened as he saw a group of Boicoian infantrymen, deployed from one of the APCs further back, moving along the highway embankment. They far outnumbered his small patrol. God damn command. He knew they'd mess up. His own men had their weapons trained nervously on the Boicoian government men.
"If you're headed for the beaches, sir, then I'd advise you to turn around. We've cleared out the Cyonists. We don't need your help."
"Then why are you coming this way, trooper, surely your mission has been accomplished?"
"We were coming to make sure things were ok in the south."
"They're fine, trooper, we don't need your help either. Now be on your way back to the beaches, back to where you came from."
Vorbitsk's heart was racing. He nodded at the officer, smiling smugly in his turret, and turned away. As he did so, the officer raised his assault rifle and shot Vorbitsk in the back.
The firefight was short and swift. The Boicoian APC's where soon on their way to Black Beach.
On said Beach, the news of the patrol's demise had quickly reached Kaen. Swearing profusely at the cowardly government, he ordered the 2nd Armoured to set up blocking positions and prepare for the defensive. Colonel Fritszk's Jaeger regiment would have to fight to Amitsao on its own.
As Kaen finished giving orders, the Boicoian general, whose capture by the over-eager paratroopers had led to this dramatic turn of events, was brought before him.
"P...please, General, I am a man of peace. Why are you doing this? We only want peace with you."
Kaen unholstered his sidearm and shot the general in the head. He left his body in the sand and boarded an LCI to move out of harm's way. He prayed the enemy government wouldn't be able to mobilise quickly, and that the Antigrans had managed to link up with his men. Otherwise, this might be over as soon as it had begun.
"The Boicoian meat grinder has started turning again." Kaen muttered, as he watched the coast recede, and watched the distant showers of earth thrown up by the naval shells firing in support of the armour. "God damn this country. I hope we burn every inch of it."
(Sorry for not-that-good posts, but I have no time for anything else)
The tanks and MICVs stopped at the sound of movement.
Suddenly, a trooper burst out of the woods, brandishing an assault rifle.
He fired off a burst, but had his brains splattered on a nearby tree and three other ambushers by a 30mm cannon. All the Antigrans were under armour, and would not be affected by their bullets.
That part of the convoy stopped to return fire - seven MBTs, three light tanks, 21 MICVs and 3 APCs. All equipped with NERA armour and very heavily armed.
Antigran fire riddled the attackers that were dumb enough to break cover.
Soon, very soon, artillery shells - 155 and 203mm - began to hit those behind cover. It came down right on top of them. Any survivors would be attack-helicoptered.
The ranking officer, Captain Hyles, put a call through on the general Alert radio channel to warn the others of the threat.
A tank commander noticed the unnoficial insignia on one of the uniforms - they were from the group of breakoff cyonists.
-----
Back at the landing zone, heavy defenses had been set up as a precaution. They would be needed. An enemy battalion had just gone into the attack, seconds after the strange news had come in over the radio.
Machine-guns all around the base had opened fire, as had missiles, tanks, artillery, and soon the Prinz Eugen, which was being radioed for fire support from it's planes and guns. The armoured division still there could handle one puny battalion by themselves, but it would give the Koenwitzians some extra action, and better safe than sorry. Two armoured companies were turning back to help with the fight. Antigran air support - fighter-bombers, bombers, and all manner of helicopters were attacking the enemy.
SLRA multiple-launch rockets were being launched, 280 at a time, firing as one from only 14 launch vehicles. One missile was enough to totally flatten a hectare.
Any laser-guided missiles the enemy had would be fooled by the laser dazzlers on all fighting vehicles, not just on the ground, and NERA armour would make short work of any shells or missiles that got through.
However, maybe not everything would go the Antigran's way. If it didn't - they had missiles that could flatten two acres.
The 5th and 6th Squadrans were preparing there plains. 150 in total. 100 bomber plains, each carrying incendary bombs, and 50 fighters to protect them. Also, 6 miles away on the coast of south eastern Boico (In koenwitzan south west), there was a fleet of battle ships that were in the middle of being repaired. Allthough they would not be fully functional for about a month, they were to sail around the coast to western Boico and fire on the koenwitzan ships that were still pounding the shore.
Admiral Hoazan was tired and fed up. He ad fought in the Chembacolian war, the first civil war and now this conflict. Boico`s a fuckin mess, he thought. He thought about the greatness of the Uphordia Boicoand, how it stretched thousands of miles across the region and beyond. And now, Hoazan wanted to go back in time the 1st centuary AD. Just so he could finally rest, he was weary of war. But now, he hoped that Boico would be at peace. He didn`t care who was in control of the nation, as long as tere was no more war. So, he hoped for one last time, it was time to sail to war...

The 2nd Light Armoured Division met the first wave of the enemy APC column head on. The Pz-69 tanks, dug in, let the enemy have it with their 90mm guns. Soon burning APCs were spread all along the highway. Enemy infantrymen battled with the Airborne troops to try and flank around the dug-in tanks, but to no avail. The line held, just.
At Crepia and on Dorchester Beach, the 3rd Infantry Division had finally battered its way ashore. It asked for no quarter and recieved none. Any Cyonists attempting to surrender were brutally gunned down. Carrier-borne aircraft dropped fragmentation and cluster bombs on Crepia. The civilian casualties were horrific. Still, the Cyonists held the city. They had little hope of relief, but they were making the Koenwitzians pay in blood for every building, every street.
Over the Antigran drop zone, the aircraft from the 901st Carrier Fighter Wing flew several sorties, targetting enemy vehicles moving on the area with their cannon and dropping napalm in the brush to evacuate the enemy sharpshooters. But the two Allies were still separated. Part of the enemy APC column that had made the attack on Black Beach had managed to move around the Koenwitzian positions and place themselves between the leading edge of the Theodor Beach advance the Antigran bridgehead. With little armoured support, the 1st Infantry Brigade had no hope of breaking the line. The Antigran artillery pounded the area, but the enemy infantry dug in. It didn't help that there were Cyonists crawling all over the area, attacking the first supply columns. One Koenwitzian platoon reported that each man had only 20 rounds of ammunition left, and that they were cut off between government troops on one side, and Cyonist troops on the other.
The situation was soon exacerbated by the arrival of the Boicoian aircraft. Those that hit Black Beach had only limited damage - despite killing infantrymen they did not pose an immediate threat, since the advance had been completely stalled. However, on Dorchester Beach the effect was disastrous. The landing craft were offloading the first batch of the new StuG95 assault guns that were to be used to flatten Crepia, and the bombers managed to sink several of the craft, sending the assault guns helplessly to the bottom of the sea. Heavy anti-aircraft fire from the Koenwitzian crusiers prevented the enemy from successfully attacking the ships, but the naval commander was getting worried - the battlecruisers had used up almost 75% of their naval artillery ammunition, and the supply ships were still days away.
The only success was that of Colonel Fritszk and the 3rd Jaeger RCT. In the chaos they had managed to slip behind enemy lines. Along with Erika Company and the Boico reisistance forces, they were now going to try their utmost to make life difficult for the government. They also had an additional mission. If the situation in the bridgehead deteroriated to the point where the K.E.F. was forced to withdraw, they were to enact the first phase of Operation REAPER. Fritszk prayed that the blockheaded Boicoians would surrender before it came to that...

On the deck of the KNV "Elzstadt", stationed a few miles off Black Beach, lookout Schmidt was standing idly, smoking a cigarette and leaning over the deckrail. He stared out at the churning sea. The sun had long gone in, and the sky was turning an ugly black, thunderclouds clapping in the distance. His ears rang from the hours of constant firing. Now, the big guns stood quiet, smoking gently in the cold sea breeze. They had fired 2,800 rounds of main gun ammo in the last week, and were now down to a mere 200 shells. It was up to the supply ships to keep them going, and they were stuck in a storm somewhere between Koenwitz and Boico. So the men had a rest. Land artillery was now ashore, and the airfield captured in northern Boico had finally allowed the First Aviation Division to get its fighters and bombers onto the land.
Schmidt saw the Boicoian ships approaching. It took him a while to work out exactly what they were, but soon the tall columns of the battleships became distinct. He raced to the nearest intercom. The "Elzstadt" swung to engage the enemy. Its sister ship, the "Sieg" was too far up the coast to come to the aid quickly, and had less ammunition.
The first salvo from the Bocioians missed. The "Elzstadt" replied with a blast from her 24-inchers. One Boicoian cruiser was hit astern, shearing off her rudder, and she floated helplessly towards the coastline. The second barrage, however, sliced through the "Elzstadt"'s bridge, killing the captain. Soon, the Boicoian ships were upon them. The anti-aircraft guns were turned on the enemy, firing flat trajectory. A Boicoian light cruiser drew alongside the Elzstadt, and enemy marines started to board her. Crewman Schmidt, firing one of those anti-aircraft guns, turned it on a platoon of the enemy marines, slicing them into meaty chunks.
It was clear, however, that the situation was hopeless. Firing a last barrage at close quarters, which blew off the forecastle of a Boicoian battleship, the Elzstadt's second in command ordered all hands to abandon ship, and set the self-destruct charges. Crewman Schmidt hurled himself into the broiling water, filled with oil and debris and charred and broken bodies. He swam for all his life towards Black Beach, enemy machine-gun fire scything the water behind him.
The Elzstadt exploded shortly afterward, damaging another Boicoian ship. Now the enemy started firing on the beachhead. Bewildered infantrymen leapt into foxholes as earth, bodies and even tanks were thrown into the air.
Schmidt let himself be washed ashore for the last few metres. As he lay exhausted on the sand, covered in blood and oil, he saw the specks of Koenwitzian carrier fighters moving down through the clouds. He smiled. Oh boy, were they going to get it now.

"Yes, Herr Feldmarschall." It was Kurt Ertz who spoke, Koenwitz's esteemed Foreign Department chief. He had spent months in Urscreenhere, and it was evident. He looked a lot older than his 42 years.
"She went down in glory?"
"Yes, Herrfeldmarschall."
"And the situation on land?"

"Good, and the Antigrans?"
"We still have not linked up with them sir, the line between us is being filled by mixed groups of government and dedicated Cyonist troops. It shouldn't be too long, they are holding their own."
"The enemy port at Crepia?"
"Almost taken, but the Cyonists have wrecked the port facilities. It will be at least a month before it can recieve shipping."
Kaen picked up his tea and slurped again. Ertz spoke up.
"Herr Feldmarschall, this was a terrible idea, to invade this country. We have fought too many battles this year. Had I been here -"
Kaen cut him off,
"Yes, you would have told me not to do it. And I would have told you to take a rest, Kurt."
He slurped again. Ertz stood silent.
"However," said Kaen, finishing his tea with satisfied lick of the lips, "considering the current situation, perhaps you would have been right. Gentlemen, I sent our forces to this country in a misguided notion of helping these people, and perhaps, godwilling, conquering them. But that was a foolish notion. These blockheaded Boicoians will be the death of us all. Furthermore, what use is a foreign colony to us now? We have our hands full with what's left of Urscreenhere as it is."
The men nodded.
"So, gentlemen, I want you to initiate the first phase of Operation REAPER. Don't take it all the way, not yet, for god's sake. But get the ball rolling. If the situtation really does deteriorate, I want to be able to use it at a moment's notice."
"But sir," said Ertz, "What about the Antigrans? Shouldn't they be warned?"
Kaen smiled.
"No, Kurt, not yet. Why let the cat out of the bag? Get to it!"
Kaen snapped his fingers and the men filed out of the room. He flicked the intercom on the conference table and called his adjutant to send him another cup of tea. It cleared the mind.
OOC: Out of curiosity (I still won't officially know this IC'ly) what the hell is Reaper?

OOC:
Without wanting to give too much away, something that will make a very grim harvest in Boico if it is activated...
I think it's Boico's turn now.

Anyways, bump
I think it's Boico's turn now.
Boico?
Glorified bump for Boico
b0mp
dead?
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Perhaps you should stop bumping this thread like there's no tomorrow and be a bit more patient? This is the first opportunity I've had to check this thread all week, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's the same with Boico. The war will go on, even if at medieval speed, but it would go on a bit better without 70 million bumps between each episode.
hey, I'm an impatient person. Accident of birth. *shrugs* Still nice if Boico posted though.
OOC: Sorry everybody, my internet was down again. Damn Virgin Media!
"We`ve only got one choice, and that`s to stop this government and the cyonists." Kiage said. He was addressing a croud of about 200. They were all civilians who decided that they weren`t just going to sit at home and watch the news reports of death after death after death. Nearly all of them had there own weapons, although many of them were 18th century one shot pistols. Those who did have modern weapons were put in charge. Those who didn`t have weapons at all were given a number of assault rifles that were found or `borrowed` from government soldiers.
The entire group, a mixture of men and women, from ages 17 to 86, set off to theador Beach to help the Koenwitzans.
I thought virgin media was a good company. Still, get cable.
Am I supposed to respond to that post or is it just for Koenwitz?
I'm gonna have to say something here, because I think this is dead. I've waited over a week...
This is dead. I'm leaving.
One last bump for Koenwitz and Boico
OOC: I have not been able to post since December (personal reasons, please don`t ask.) I hope we continue it now, if not I fully understand, but please say so because I`ll have problems RPing when there might still be a terrible civil war still being fought in my nation.
