OOC Thread is here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=539348), people.
IC: Headmaster Vivalina looked out the window of his office in satisfaction. Thousands of new students were pouring in, Xiscapians, Korr, Alversians, Avalans, Elite, Schwullunde and many others. The Academy of the Rose was in the Xiscapian spaceport city of Lune. Behind him sat or stood several various teachers. Mrs. Rain, a pretty Alversian female, sat in a chair, legs crossed. She taught Diplomacy and Nations of the Universe. Mr. Forworn, standing and staring absentmindedly into space, a bookish Xiscapian who taught History and Aerodynamics. Mr. Savk, a former Alversian fighter pilot, taught Driving and Piloting. Mr. Miyagi, an ancient Xiscapian male with white hair, ears, and tail, leaned on his cane, the teacher of CQC, Hand-to-Hand and The Way of the Sword. Segt. Keela, a SRS trooper who had agreed to come to the school to teach Sniping and Stealth, stood at attention in her blue dress uniform. The last of the teachers in the room stood on Headmaster's Vivalina's desk, about 6 inchs high. His name was Keven, and he was an A.I. in charge of VR. He wore casual clothes and looked out at the students, green numbers faintly glowing behind him. He spoke. "Good crop this year, hmm?" "Indeed." said the Headmaster, nodding. He turned around. "So none of you have no problems instructing none Xiscapians?" Each teacher shook his or her head. "Good. It's time now." He switched on the intercomm. "All students, please make your way to the Assembly Building, number 4b."

Indigo looked up from where she sat reading in the student Union and closed the book. The Imperia Wraith, her required by law and tradition even if she had been, technically officially, exiled from Nova Nippon was already standing. But then again he wasn't even remotely human and had probably heard the announcement before it had been even spoken. Wraiths were spooky like that and the 'common man'...and even the common samurai, of Nova Nippon rightly feared them.

Indigo handed the book to her assistant, though duena was a more correct term. "You can wait here" She said firmly. She might have to have an entourage, again required by laws of a nation she could never return to, but she dfidn't have to have them padding after her like a train of boxcars. Though she'd never seen a boxcar, but had read of them, and had ridden a hyperspeed monorail once.

With a frown but no objection the older woman bowed then returned to her seat. With the Wraith half a step behind her and off to one side Indigo crossed the campus to the designated assembly building. Once inside she found a seat in the center of the back row, the Wraith taking the seat on her left. Her sword, which had been sheathed crosswise across her back now laid across her lap. Indigo looked about interestedly, observing every thing with a scholar's eye. The Wraith looked about far more discretely, and with a guardian's eye.

Gerrak despised the method of transit Bobbo insisted upon-the ship was small and cramped, space itself remained unique and fascinating for but an hour or so--the time it took him to realize precious little happened here, save in the minds of those who claimed they had some influence.
As they came in for landing, he wondered what the future held...

Dominic closed 'Old Mankind's Greatest Works' and sat up in his chair, being woke up after the announcement. He shook his head to wake himself up then stood up and fixed his glasses. He stepped out of the Pariah-class Dropship.

Samantha appeared with a slight flash. Beside her stood her father. His tall form dwarfed her by nearly a foot. She looke dup at him as he wore his military uniform. A black top resembling the ancient suits of the Waffen-SS. The black trenchcoat he wore covered most of it.

"Ar eyou sure you want to go here?" He asked her. "The Imperial Academy is far better qualified-"

"Im sure daddy." She said to him. "This place will work nicely. I think your more worried about what I plan on doing than what I end up learning." Samantha looked up and hugged him. "See you in a few months." She said running off carrying a small datapad with all her information containd on it. Her clothes would be replicated once she decided what she would wear. Her plans were already formulating. Being the Generals daughter meant she always had to dress properly, it really wasnt any fun at all. She bounced off towards the school when her dad called hr quickly.

"NO DORM SKIPPING!" He yelled. It was a direct order, but she could always work around that.

Fay glanced down at his time table for today. He had been assigned to look after a group of new students after the assembly. Appearing on the landing zone right on time, Fay looked up at the ships dropping down students and some luxurious personal ships as well. Numerous dropships were also deployed from orbit and normal transportation rails screeched to a stop nearby. Hearing the intercom, Fay followed the huge trail of students towards the Assembly Building 4B.

Activating his com, Fay spoke to his microphone,"What was the students' names who will be attending Target Practice today?" His white-haired rogue appearance turned a few heads. Not wanting to attract any more attention, Fay moved to the back row and leaned against the wall. Anyone looking at this young teacher wouldn't have guessed that he was a decorated war hero. His eye caught two people in front of him. The sword particularly because Fay was scolded by a colleague for carrying a laser gun with him. Taking out his datapad, Fay zoomed through the rules of the Academy not paying attention to the assembly.

A flash of extremely pale hair and movement caught Indigo's attention out of the corner of her eye, and she turned slightly to catch a better veiw of what she had seen..

White hair was extremely rare outside of the Divine linneage in Nova Nippon, most having dark hair that stayed that way well towards the ends of their long lives. Those of the Divine's linnegae lived some five hundred years, the Samurai caste lived some three to four hundred, and commoners lived maybe one eighty, with the outcast living at best a hundred. Indigo herself had never seen an outcast, but she had read the statistical reports.

She saw that a handsome man - however she was slightly confused as to age at first glance. His hair was a satiny white, but his face did not carry the age to match the hair. Given just his face she'd have guessed that perhaps his age was within a handfull of years of hers, but the hair.... Perhaps he is one of the races of man that has white hair naturally Indigo thought to herself before gving him a shy smile then turning back to face forwards. Then she remembered Ah, that is Sensei...no remember ...Professor Saelus
..His picture matches that in the overview information. It said he was only twenty eight. and is an expert pilot. He'll be assissting in Target Practice class. She nodded to herself, drawing upon her extensively trained and near perfect memory.

The Wraith had caught sight of the man as he first entered. He noted the place the man chose to post himself at, but the Guardian felt no need to turn his head and study the individual more openly.

The landing pad was amazing, and Gerrak Krag slowly gathered his belongings and headed to the Assembly Hall. He darkscanned all he could, memorizing the location as he headed to the Assembly. He clutched the knotted cord that told him what books he would require as well as such supplies as he would need. The Muri preferred the knot-writing over print, but Gerrak has been scrupulous in mastering the literacy of these people.
He checked the magnifying lens that would make the tiny script they used legible to his poor vision and was pleased to find it intact. He tucked it carefully back in his pack, and turned his attention to the hall. His sensitive hearing and darksense picked up all manner of exotic speech, much of which was odd to him.
He groaned inwardly, a subsonic rumble of displeasure, as he heard the first class would be Target Practice. While he trusted his darksense to guide any missiles he threw and a lifetime of hunting to coordinate it, he did fear targeting using the scanners of these people would be difficult. Quietly, he listened to the speakers' greetings, and noted instructions issued.

As he walked, he checked his timetable. He smiled and muttered to himself, "Shooting Practice, huh?" He stowed it away as he passed a man with bright white hair, leaning against a wall. Certainly a teacher. He made a mental note of his appearance, then continued on towards the Assembly Hall.

Indigo's eyes caught sight of massive form of a race she had not studfied and her eyes went wide. "He must be over seven foot tall, and by the Omikami, how much does he weight?" She whispered under her breath. For while Novan's that stood that tall were not uncommon, the breath of the new arrival's shoulders, and his massive musculature was beyond any race that she had studied. Even the warrior clan lines of the Xa'Cz'inni weren't as formidibly built as he was, though she thought some might come close.

"Like an Oni, yes, but closer to the old N'europa variation. Remember Beowulf, the old Nordic skald's saga. He would be a formidible foe" Kai said softly. "But far more civilized than that spoken of in the tale." The Wraith had caught a gleam from the beings red eyes, and suspected infravision, and a primarily subterranian origin for his race. Though he was not at all certain, perhaps his eye were just unusually relcective, like Kai own were. And Kai's own inhuman hearing had caught the Troll's subvocalized rumble and wondered what caused it. 'This is one I shall keep an ear on' He thought.

She also noted a female in her middle teens, armed as if expecting a military action at any moment, and wondered if she had snuck away from an older sibling and was merely holding their weapons for them. Even the most militant Novan Samurai didn't go around so armed on a daily basis. And for a visitor, a guest in someone's 'house', it was considered uncouth and an insult, a way of saying that those whom they were a guest of could not ensure their safety. Indigo gave a mental shrug and looked at the many others entering.

Indigo had only had individual tutors all her life; none of the Divine One's Court was allowed to do such plebian things as attend a school. Those of the Divine One's Court weren't even allowed beyond the high, well guarded wall of the palace - though the Divine One's palace grounds covered over a thousand square miles. Even though she had been 'exiled' six months ago all of the vast universe that she had just read about in her old life was fascinating to her.

Gerrak jumped as the sizzle of a transit beam roared in his ears, and glared at the source irritably. The small frail thing now had two devices hovering near her and seemed not to notice the Muri, and he decided the distraction was neither intentional nor malicious.
He did note eyes upon him from the serious dark-haired male and the smaller female he hovered over, and he became immediately self-conscious. Since trolls lack the muscles to draw up the corners of the mouth, he slightly inclined his head and spread his claws in a gesture of passivity, then returned his focus to the podium. His darksense told him the pair were still watching him, and he couldn't help but give off nervous rumblings as he watched the white-haired instructor make his way to the podium.

Pat watched the entire situation from the back right corner of the room. He noticed a man, with what he assumed was gray hair, leaning on the wall to his left and decided not to talk to him. He also noticed a man step up to take the podium but cared little for what the man was going to say. Right now he was assessing his fellow classmates. At first it startled him that there were "beings" of other species, but the shock slowly wore off. What he could not get over was the fact that he was out of his element. Normaly he would be up in the front chatting with other students, making friends, but instead he was here, in the back. "There is a time and a place to make friends, this may be the place but not the time" he said to himself. Something put him off ease, at first he didn't know what it was but he soon realized that it was the confidence that every person in the room oozed. He had not met many people that had this trait, but those that he had were usually his opponents. He had to remind himself that he was at school, not a battlefield. He felt more relaxed and smiled "I think I'm beginning to like this place." He decided to listen to the man at the podium.

The arrival of the drones, the brief flash of intense light though he had but caught it out of the corner of his eye, had Kai wincing internally. He shrugged it off as he realized that the Muri - he did not know the racial name yet, though he would look it up later - was still keeping an eye on Indigo and he.

Kai nodded in respectfull recognition of the Muri's peaceful intent, and momentarily his hands too sprouted claws and he returned the greeting. Then the claws were gone and he was directing Indigo's attention to the one making his way to the podium. An Oni would never had made tht 'statement' save on pain of death. The Muri's freely offered gesutre raised him a notch in Kai's estimation.

Frank was just stepping off of the landing pad when the announcement was made. Hitting a button on his remote, his personal Dominion AGF (Advanced Gunship Fighter) locked down. He looked around at the Academy, taking in all of the sights. He observed that despite the presence of many other speices, the majority of the students were still Xiscapian. He was the only Dominion student registered for this year.

Taking a deep breath and smoothing out invisible creases in his DDF dress uniform, he slung his bag over his shoulder and strode toward the assembly building. Stopping abruptly, he ran back to his ship and unstrapped the blaster pistol from his hip, throwing it into the pilot seat.

"That could have been bad," he mused.

Chuckling to himself about possibly almost being tackled by security, he resumed his walk.

Samantha saw the big group of races assembling. She was used to seeing all sorts of strange things but this was more than a little troubling. Her small form was dwarfed by several of these people. Most also carried various weapons and other queipment, she carried a quarter inch thick data pad containing all the information she needed for her time here. She looked and stood in behind people trying to see. "God Damnit!" She said to herself. Her impatience was always a driving force behind her, she decided to move to sit on something so that she could have a clear view of what was going on.

Gerrak's anxiety was rising-the spiritform had briefly readied for battle but subsided-he was too paranoid, here among the aliens. A tiny profanity sounded, if he took the Xiscapian language properly, and he darksensed it's source-a truly miniscule figure far below him. "Liddel one-" he inwardly cursed his phrasing, but a word cannot be unsaid. Besides, he towered over the assembly, and had no doubt all were nervous, and likely to overlook such breaches. "Youse kan see bedder frum my hed or shooldahs, mebbe? I kin rayze youse to eedder, no prob..."
Briefly he debated lowering and extending a claw, but either might be offensive. He had much to learn of these alien things, and offending even the smallest of them would not be wise.
(OOC-while Gerrak understands Xiscapian fluently, he will never speak it unaccented-a troll's skull is shaped differently, and the muscles are formed oddly for human speech-just read it phonetically and think of a midget doing James Cagney. Trolls are used to speaking above the human range of hearing due to their own auditory range, only dropping to human ranges when angry and bellowing. Given his current nervousness, he may not even have dropped to where she can hear him-I'll leave it for her player to decide.)

The trip here had not been luxurious. House T'velya had no more great liners to send him to a new school in an outburst of opulence and glory. In fact, simply affording him the trip here, what with the rebuilding, and the requirements to clean up the fallout from the bombardment of House T'velya Seat world was remarkable in and of itself. He had been given transport on a Faralanor freighter, which had stopped off in this system for a brief refueling, at which point he had.. well, disembarked.

Humiliating. Being sent to a school in another nation. It was not a school that boasted the ancient glorious and successes of many he had suggested - but it was, however, somewhere that could keep him safe. Presumably he was also being sent here to dissuade him of his un-T'velyan anti-mutant tendencies, although he doubted that anyone, or anything, could do that. If he ever hoped to be an effective ruler of House T'velya, he couldn't preach the rule of mutants, as the old Emperors had.

A few races were there, some more interesting than others. Humans, naturally. Others. A smallish class for what was supposed to be a decent school. He sighed, and left for the Assembly Building. Why speak to the others? It would not make staying here any less of a chore.

Ian stepped off his transport and smiled as he glanced up at the school. He had come to Xiscapia almost every year on holidays and now he was glad to be staying here. In fact, his father often visited the planet on leave, such was his love and respect of the Xiscapians. He was looking forward to his time here.
