The Lady of Thalestria (OPEN)
Thalestria
02-10-2007, 00:11
Princess Emily of Thalestria was the only daughter of King Constantine and Queen Amelia not to be married. Living in "Emilia House", which was given to her as a birthday gift (she had now turned eighteen), Emily decided she would look into obtaining a husband, as she had often thought of becoming the wife of some suitor, whether foreign or national, that did not matter to her. Emily decided to open the search with a formal declaration of her intentions. As she met with different suitors, none of them seemed to be the one for her, though she would respect them all. As the days passed, the search seemed to be drying up like water in a massive drought. Perhaps, Emily thought, the suitors of foreign nations would come to court her and perhaps even go so far to marry the eighteen year old, intelligent and beautiful princess.
(I thought this would be an alright way to get Thalestria going in international affairs, etc. This is open to all nations and I will gather some information for Emily soon)
New Paris, Vallera
Sunshine filtered through the clouds as they lazily coasted through the deep blue sky. The Jewel of Vallera, as it was often called, was the grandest city in the nation, stemming from hundreds of years of architertural inovation and developement. It's rustic street views with narrow-well kept apartments as well as numerous cobblestone side streets. The Seine River cut the capital in half with several bridges criss corssing. It is a fussion of old and new as 21st century building's loom in the backdrop. It existed as the capital for over five hundred years, seeing countless rulers, politicians, inventors, and people of historical interest. It witness several sieges in earlier years and several disasters and riots as well, bt always prevailed in the end.
The Royal Palace at Saint-Arnot, just outside the bustling city is the traditional home of the royal family. The Moreau Family, having taken power in the seventeen-hundreds have an extensive history along with the country. Count Victor Moreau, established the house several hundred years ago after a split in the royal family, leading to civil war. Once, they wielded immense power but now, The Republic, holds the true power and the royal family has limited power and the nobility rarely waltz through the world of politics. Felix Moreau, son of Hugo and Agata Moreau, is one of the most well-known roayls in the nation, despite the fact he is unable to ascend to the throne due to having an older brother. Some would describe Felix as an adrenaline junkie, reckless, and a playboy. That is the image he portrays to the media. On the other hand, he is well educated, dwells into literature, outdoor activities, and sports. He's of handsome features, dark hair, hazel eyes, athletic, and humerous.
Felix, 20 years old, heard that Princess Emily of Thalestria sought a suitor and decided to show interest...

(I must have forgotten about this thread. Sorry for that. Thank you, Vallera for your interest in joining this. I would like you to, if possible, have your suitor write a letter to Emily please, just so they can establish contact)
OOC - I don't normally do Character RP's so bear with me here
In Sumetra the capital of Fordock the birds chirped, the sun shone, and the children played. It seemed like a regular day as people went about their business. However then you would pass by the grocery stores with their run on rations, or pass a corner and see armed soldiers of Fordock. Then you became reminded that there was a war going on.
However some of Fordock pretended not to care or notice. They really did go along their normal routines with no differences refusing to admit that there was a war going. These people would sometimes find hidden opportunities if they survived long enough. When Fordock received a letter requesting a suitor for a princess or some sort it just seemed like the normal sort of tabloid like mail. It was the chain letters of the political community. Most people filtered it out and never saw it.
However there was one who was bored. He had nothing to do all day and browsed though his junk file. There he found it sitting. He was 20 and in the prime of his life but had no one to share it with. The man thought to himself "Well it is at least worth a try". With that he set to writing a polite letter that might get him invited. The worst that could happen was him being ignored and that wasn't too bad.
Dear Princess Emily
I am a Junior Diplomat in the Fordockian Department of state. Not many have heard of my small country but we have a rich history. However that is not the reason for this message. I am responding to your message and the information I have thought long and hard on this and you seem like an impressive person. I would love to chat with you one of these days if you are not too busy. Thank you for your time

When Princess Emily recieved the letter of the diplomat from Fordock, she was surprised to see that people not of royal or aristocratic blood were interested in her. Deciding to send a reply, she wondered at the same time if other people would show interest also.
"To Tylum Ilu,
I admit that I did not expect a letter from a diplomat but I would not mind chatting with you at all. From your letter, you seem like a nice person and I would like to keep contact with you through this method here and yes, I believe I have heard of Fordock...perhaps you could send me some information?
Sincerely,
Princess Emily"
OOC - The reason for this being we haven't had royals since around 1700.
Surprised to see a letter back so quickly Ilu quickly minimized what he was working on and got to sending a reply trying to think how much information she wanted and how to be most polite in breaking the fact Fordock hadn't had royals since around 1700. Finally he finished and sent some 1's and 0's over the internet. When rearranged it looked like this,
Dear Princess Emily,
There is much information on Fordock throughout the world. Here is Some (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Fordock). However sometimes that can be a little lengthy so feel free to ask for a summery. It takes a while to read the history of Fordock. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Sincerely,

To Tylum Ilu,
After reading about the nation of Fordock and its history, I must say that it is quite the interesting nation and that it must have a good historical heritage. You are welcome and I thank you for giving me the information about your nation.
Sincerely,
Princess Emily
OOC: I'm a former member of NS who left a while back. This is my new nation and my first RP with it.
Queen Linda was usually a quite and reserved woman, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Her realm was changing politically and socially. She needed stability in her family. Her grandson Prince John-Alexander her preferred heir was in need of a wife, but hadn’t seriously sought one out. The Queen now decided to make finding him a wife her personal mission. This Lady of Thalestria caught her attention.
Dear Princess Emily
I am delighted to assist you in finding a suitable husband. My grandson Prince John-Alexander, the heir to the throne, a member of Parliament, and the Minister of Education, Emergency Planning, and Urban Affairs, would be just the man. He
Is believed by many to be on the fast track to becoming Chancellor! Our nation of Zandera is tiny, but very cultured. Please reply.
Thank You,
Her Majesty Linda of Bienville
By the Grace of God Queen of Zandera,
Minister of Foreign Affairs, and
Leader of the Christian Democratic Party

Dear Queen Linda,
I have read your letter and from reading it, your son, John-Alexander, seems to be a good man who has a lot of responsibilities, I assume. I thank you for your interest and for your offer of assisting me.
Sincerely,
Princess Emily

OOC: Oh, I see. In that case, I might have to make my own suitor and assume that Emily married and move on to another kind of thread. Thank you for your information.
