As the sun set after such a glorious day, I looked out from the offices of the People's Government, gazing over the vast city of Marograd before me. A million workers resided in this grand settlement alone, all striving to do the duties of the state. It was the most beautiful sight I'd ever seen, the endless toil of a grand civilization rebuilding after such endless warfare. For twenty five years, half my life, this nation had been embroiled in perpetual civil war.

It is my grandfather's generation who was to blame. His saw the rise of the Emperor, the oppressive capitalistic pig who forced the Eurasian Republics to cater to every whim. He crushed my father's generation. My father was one of those killed in the great purges, ensuring that there were few to resist, but a few persevered, and by the time I, Aleksandra Gorbachova, came along, we were ready for the great war that claimed so many millions.

But all of that is over now, and we can rebuild in the ashes of the decadent past. But surely such a grand accomplishment couldn't be the only in this vast world. Are there not other nations who have deemed fit to follow the sage advice of Marx and Lenin? Who among the national community can honestly protest to following the teachings of Mao? We have not had relations in years, it has taken until now for even such subversive things as the Internet to reach our lands. Maybe it is time to return from isolation...

I booted up my computer, an aged affair imported from some capitalist stooge state, and commenced to type. I can only hope that our technicians have managed to learn enough from the imperialists to correctly set up the Internet connection, but it won't be long before our technology sector is at par with the most advanced in existence.

We have finally overthrown our imperialist oppressors, and welcome any support we can get from allies. However, I do dearly hope that you jest in suggesting the entrance of private contractors into Eurasian lands and economic matters. Communism dictates an economy for all, by all. Selfish privatized firms are strictly incompatible with such a philosophy. As such, any and all privatization has been strictly outlawed in the Eurasian Socialist Republics for the good of the worker. Privatization merely allows the industrialist and the bourgeois to oppress the proletariat, undermining the basic premises of communal philosophy.

However we will have time to debate the finer points of Communal Economic and Social theory later. Moving on to the continuation of your letter, I regret to inform you that our military force is powerful and in place, and is being rapidly strengthened to ensure the safety of the nation against any last remnants of the Crown that may still lurk. It was interesting to see in this dark room, as the plywood had finally been removed from the window frames, revealing pristine glass. ICCD is a generally seen as an empire within a peoples republic. While there is no classism in the design there is the democratic notion of equality of all individuals to have equal rights to voice and vote.

We extend refugee status to those of both sides of the struggle to seek a peaceful life or join the Dian Foreign Legion to escape the generational blood shed once and for all. The capacity to seek a life free from the dangers of known threats to life and liberty, and instead move into a much more open and liberal society. As the sun set over Marograd, I returned to my lodging in the People's Government's main offices, satisfied with the progress that had been made. With each passing day, the city was being rebuilt to its prewar grandeur. Sure, there had been numerous construction accidents, the worst taking out almost an entire block, but overall, the outlook was bright.

Before I turned in for the night however, I dropped by the computer terminal that had been installed in the main hall. It bathed the whole hall with its dim glow, slowly pulling up the numerous messages that had built up during my absence. Imperialists and Capitalists seemed to come out of the woodwork, even one suggesting that we trade with them! But we are beggars, not choosers, we need this until we can get by without such things, and maybe we could make some money in the process... for the good of the collective of course. But such arrogance is unacceptable. I began to type furiously into the night...

Does it make sense to sacrifice the freedom and ideals of the Communist revolution to pander to the whims of the outdated Imperialists and Capitalists of this world? You seek to crack the determination of the Worker's movement by offering such siren songs as "free trade" or an implied protection from the larger Imperialists of this world. That being said, you are correct that military conflict is unnecessary. In fact, the revolution in your nation could be extremely bloodless and smooth if merely you would renounce your oppressive ways and allow a government of, by, and for the people to take rightful control. But as such is unlikely knowing the single-mindedness of the Oligarch, even in the face of such recent events. Therefore, I accept your embassy that our nations may communicate more easily, to avert possible difficulties down the road. I condemn the nation of Clandonia and the industrialists in charge of it in the strongest terms. You speak of our relations with other nations bringing us into conflict with your nation. Because of mere diplomacy, you threaten us with untold violence and horrors, yet you state that the workers of Eurasia have nothing to fear but their own government? It seems somewhat inane to ramble thusly, alternately threatening with baseless violence and saying that you are not to be feared, but the protectors of Eurasia are to be.

Your instability in foreign policy and fear of communism suggests that your regime is hanging by a thread, and that one slip could cause it to all collapse around you. Communism is omnipresent, it will continue long after I am gone. Your own kind even admit to the existence of a "Domino Theory," where the workers surrounding an enlightened nation recognize the freedom afforded by Communal living, and liberate themselves as well. Your nation must be on the brink, I can only hope that it is possible to move over.

I announce my direct and open support for all Communist groups operating within Clandonia, and would warn the "Crown" that its time is limited. They will help to rebuild the infrastructure of your nation, repairing much needed electricity, plumbing, and anything else that you need them to repair.

We also suggest that you ignore the rants of those incapable leaders of the Nations of Clandonia Prime and Zukariaa as they do not know what true freedom is. People bound to companies to make the Rich Five Percent even Richer doesn't sound like freedom to me, and it doesn't to the hundreds of thousands of other Left-Wing nations of the world.

I cannot believe my eyes. Message after message pours in about this "Soviet Commonwealth," such a siren's song. Yet somehow, they all proclaim to be merely "leftist states," failures in their incomplete accomplishment of the final goal: pure Communism. I am left with no choice.

I thank you for your kindness in offering reconstruction aid, but it is past the point of urgent reconstruction. We have reached a point where we must spread our wings and strengthen Eurasia ourselves, and unfortunately lack the space for such a 'massive command center' in any of our cities. The only appreciable space is on the outskirts, much of which is occupied by farmland.

The rampant talk of "left wing" nations frightens me, however. There is no such thing as a coalition of left wing nations. You are either a follower of Marx and Lenin, or you are a brutal oppressor of the working class. Eurasia is not merely "Left Wing," we are devout Socialists, followers of the Communist theory to the utmost. "Left Wing" is a denotation of those who cannot make the step to true freedom, or are afraid of the reprocussions from the Industrialists and Imperialists in this nation. It is the "left wing" nations that demonstrate the failures of the world movement, the occasional revolution that loses steam at the brink of total success. I refuse to allow Eurasia enter into a consortium of such half enlightened states.

It seems the creation of this journal will prove useful in recreating the exact sequence of events of the forthcoming storm. My message has not yet been replied to by the Fascist Pigs, but already my own brethren have turned against us. It seems that there are no true Communists left in this world but ourselves.

The military has begun a full scale mobilization, and the national draft has been greatly expanded. At current rate of preparation, we expect to be on total war footing in one week. It remains to be seen if we shall find any allies in the coming fight. May Marx preserve us.

His Majesty's Government and the Crown sees the decision by the Eurasian's as display of the true nature of this evil ideology and in turn alliance. As the brave Questerians fight on after first giving NATO a lesson and now facing a communist coup, we will join them in the fight to rid the world of communism and destroy Federation of Eurasian Socialist Republics . By the order of His Majesty the King I respond to this declaration of war be sent to the Federation of Eurasian Socialist Republics, already the might of the Crown military and the Grand Expeditionary Fleet on orders to reinforce current privateering legislation against Soviet vessels. If the declaration of war is not revoked in twelve hours time then military operations will be initiated on all viable primary military and civilian targets.

I also make a point to The Island Empire of Barronia and other members of the Soviet Commonwealth that any financial or military will be seen as a provocation for war and a violation of neutrality, aiding and abetting will be dealt with by the free will of local naval commanders. Mr Gorbachova, you have twelve hours to decide before millions of your brutally oppressed people will be thrown into an uncertain and bloody war which will result in the destruction of your nation. The war of laissez faire and the preservation of democracy will continue, the people of Eurasia will be liberated from the tyrannical red scum.

We are in full agreement with our UFAN allies in the Island Empire of Barronia and Federal Havenic Republic of Prestonia on this matter, Premier Sistillin. We seek not ourselves to abet such a nation as the Eurasian Socialist Republics, for we have our own military matters to attend to and care not for the follies of younger fellow-traveler regimes; and we back President Gannon's call for a peace settlement before bloodshed carries matters beyond the point of mere charged diplomacy and bruised egos. However, Clandonian interference with Barronian sovereignty would be taken most amiss by us, I can assure you; and despite the way your language and policy continue to grate I do believe you are a man of sense enough to realize that it is not wise to go seeking enemies where you need not find any unless you force the issue. As is, we suspect the Eurasians will present challenge enough if indeed you seek to come against them in addition to your present commitments worldwide; so discretion upon all our parts would indeed be best.

Surely your servicemembers grow weary of what I can only surmise is the continued mobilization from preparing for possible inolvement in the late war against NATO, yes Premier? Minister Hartmann does not issue statements idly or without reason, and the Excessively Armed Empire of Automagfreek has proven itself as discerning as it is powerful in battles across our world since nearly the dawn of modernity. While I do not claim to agree with the entirety of Freekish policy, or the means by which they choose to enforce said policy, nonetheless I have enough respect to give my (alas belated) regards to Supreme Warlord Azrael the Advocate on his accession to the throne; respect I do believe Azrael and his Information Minister would've been so kind to repay unto the successor to His Majesty King William VII when the time came, at least before you took it upon yourself Premier to denounce Automagfreek's chosen system of governance and cast doubt upon its civil freedom at a most inappropriate time and place. And one does well indeed to respect Automagfreek, Premier Sistillin, for in so doing one may just know a respite in which to enjoy renewed peace until the next valid threat presents itself to be dealt with from whatever quarter.

I do believe that covers all I have to say. All parties here shall do as they will, and we for one shall simply mind our own interests insofar as they are affected or not. We remind His Majesty's Government that neither we in Wagdog nor our friends in Barronia are members of the Soviet Commonwealth (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=535079) in point of fact, despite our maintaining friendly and even otherwise-allied relations with several members thereof all the same. Hence further care in detailing certain nations' affiliations would be kindly advised, lest one appear somehow slapdash or overreaching in one's diplomacy. Warminster inherited such a reputation from the words and deeds of the Lancer and Puriton regimes, under the late Armed Republic that preceded the Clandonian Restoration; and it would indeed be regrettable if the work His Majesty's Government has done to correct this should suddenly begin to unravel, especially so if merely for the sake of pride wounded by an international neophyte of the wrong flag color in your eyes.

The Oligarchy has seen fit to support Eurasia in its struggle against the Clandonian imperialists -- militarily, economically, and diplomatically. We also condemn all of the so-called 'leftist' or 'socialist' states, the nations that speak brave words but back down at the first hint of trouble. People of Deurem, Barronia, Shazbotdom, and all others who disparage the fight against the imperialist oppressor: Should the Clandonians, or their larger and more powerful capitalist allies, insist that you give up your economic system and submit to capitalism, would you acquiesce? Would you back down, powerless, before the so-called military might of an aggressor? Murra would not!

The Oligarchy shall be deploying military forces in defence of Eurasia; and should the Clandonians be foolish enough to try anything, the fight will be taken to their homeland as well. All those who choose not to support us in this battle are nothing more than pseudo-socialists, claiming the ideas but with no ability to defend them against aggressors. Tread carefully, pseudo-socialists, for your days are numbered; the true Revolution shall sweep those unwilling to fight for its cause, and purge the moderate as well as the capitalist from this world. At the great Baltic port of Danzig, a thousand ships were preparing to set sail. Sailors clambered aboard; dock workers scrubbed and repainted the ships with the cheap, mass-produced grey-tinged off-white that had almost become a symbol of Murra; huge cranes lowered missiles and shells into place. Every few hours, a tour group of Murran citizens led by a Director of Something Or Other passed along the Pedestrian Skyway, only a few metres above the Automobile Skyways, where the Director explained that this was the Murran People's Navy preparing to do battle with the evil capitalist pigs.

On the ground, things were hardly so simple. Trains from all over the country had been completely booked, and each one -- arriving every thirty minutes -- spilled out a load of sailors, soldiers, and airmen, who in turn leaped into ground vans that took them to military bases and had the added benefit of not interfering with automobile traffic on the skyways. From the massive airfields to the west of the city, practice flights took off and landed, usually on the innumerable aircraft carriers at the centre of the fleet; soldiers performed a few last-minute combat drills and made sure their AK-74s were clean and fully stocked with ammunition. Everything proceeded in a remarkably orderly fashion, partly because the Murran troops had been trained from a very early age, and partly because KGB officers stood by prepared to shoot anyone who failed to act accordingly. The KGB, an anachronism from the old days of Soviet Russia, was still almost universally feared in Murra.

Within a few hours, perhaps, the Murran Army would be called to the front. Then the fun would begin.

Prime Minister Sir David Sistilin I would like to ask just how you came to elected office within Clandonia all you ever seem to do is land your Nation, Government and People in hot water within the International Community? When the Vetakan Dominion existed within Haven you launched a rather pointless campaign against us what that you abandoned before you had met the entire Vetakan Navy. Vetaka lost 250 ships, Clandonia lost 150 or so and thousands of sailors on both sides perished. Yet you claimed a Clandonian Victory and your still in office I must ask just how you do it?

Prime Minister Sistilin your strongest and most honourable ally of Questers fought a great war against great and honourable enemies and all you seemed to do was just debate the issue instead of taking up arms and fighting. Prime Minister Sistilin you continue to try and start wars with NATO, Gholgoth and the Soviet Commonwealth you make a lot of threats yet you never actually follow through. You preech that Communist Nations are backwards and never develop yet such nations as Wagdog and TWSP are going from strength to strength.

To conclude Prime Minister I ask that you simply "Shut Up" and allow your service personnel to take a break and do something useful like spend time with friends and famillies.
