Here is the event thread. Event thread, world RPers, world RPers, the event thread. This is where I will throw random events at players to change the fate of the game. They could be positive, could be negative. Could start wars, could give nukes, could start droughts, could start WW IV, could create a Renassiance, or start a rebbellion. I will not be partial to myself. This may seem a little like godmodding, but everyone will get them so it will be fair. I will try to make an event at least once every other day. Failure to adhere to the events will result in expulsion. It isn't fair that some players are effected and others ignore events. Try to check this thread regularly. Whenever you check The World RP, check this too spontaneously.

Following several peaceful anti-government protests in Andora last week, many protesters took to arms late last night and began looting and rioting. The Andoran rebels demand to be allowed secede from the nation of Gilbratar to become a French dominion. Many Andorans are athiests and of French descent. They hold low opinions of the radical Spanish Catholics who govern them. Since many Parisians are athiests, and since Paris is the center of French politics, many Andorans believe they will be better treated by their atheist brothers who they consider to be in charge of the nation. Rebel leaders are in the midst of drafting an ultimatum for the Gilbraltan government. Many suspect they will demand the right to defect to France completely. As the riots continue and become increasingly violent in Andora, nearly 300,000 French athiests marched in Paris today, demanding the French government to take action to help the Andoran cause. They argue that even though the French are mostly a Catholic, they are more rational in their practices than the Spanish. As the tension mounts, the world awaits the two nations next move.

The State of Gilbraltar wishes to recognize the uniqueness of Andora. The peaceful protests were noted by the government and secession talk was in discussion. With the presence of looting and stealing the State is now less likely to release Andora, since it appears it may not govern itself. The State of Gilbraltar is currently stuck on the issue.

To the people of Andorra:
The Government of Frankia has heard your cries to defect into our Republic. We openly accept such a big move, however we would not excute the process until we have a proper evidence of the majority in favour of this option. Also we would have to ask our own people's opnion on your state joining us, should the poll favour this, we would we happy to accept Andorra as a Principality of Frankia. However it would also need the majority of European Nations to recognize it. Should the process fail, and your Nation decides to take up arms against the State of Gilbraltar, Frankia would not support you, and if it has gone sucessfully, Frankia would grant Andorra offically as a principality and grant it full Internal Self-Government, with other terms and conditions that will be discussed after it is done.

Project Sunrise

The Kingdom of Cascadia clawed its way from the depths of chaos and anarchy by striving for peace and uniting under a leadership that brought security and purpose to the people of the realm. The stabilizing influence of organized government has had an unmatched effect of safety and prosperity for the northwestern regions of post-End North America.

Her Majesty Queen Rhiannon has expressed to her Circle of Archons the urgent desire to bring neighbouring regions into the Cascadian fold, providing cohesion and constancy through investiture of its leadership and incorporation of the area into the Kingdom. In short, the Queen wishes to bring the Light of civilization back to the dark corners of the continent and welcome our brothers and sisters home. This endeavour has been designated Project Sunrise. Despite the fact that the Project reaches beyond the current borders of the realm, Her Majesty feels that its intended spirit makes it a matter of Domestic Affairs.

For the initial phases of the Project, the schedules for which are for you to devise, a budget of $100,000,000 (one hundred million dollars) is available. This should be sufficient to secure the remaining unaligned areas of Oregon and Washington – the Queen’s stated primary concern at this time.

With this missive, I officially hand off repsonsibility for Project Sunrise to you and your ministry and offer my best wishes for your success in adopting our orphan siblings abroad.

Okay, but just to let you know, and this applies to everyone, the Events Thread is for events I create as a mod, not for national events you all create.

Could you perhaps list the major threads in play somewhere on the first page? That way, we can have all the major happenings in one convenient location on a stable page for easy access. :)

Official Gilmanger Statement
In response to the statement made by the Government of Frankia, the State of Gilbraltar has decided to officially make a referendum in Andora, concerning seceeding. Once they seceed, they may do whatever they want. The vote shall be held this week, at strategic voting positions. The decision shall be final, for a period of (OOC: NS) one year.

Official Gilmager Statement (concerning the "Andora situation")

We here in the State of Gilbraltar realize that the province of Andora feels positive towards joining the Federal Republic of Frankia. In Gilbraltar (RL Barcelona), President Thomas Vanek and his advisors came to an agreement today. Andora will be allowed to secede. And then do whatever they want.

Today, the Calvinists Churches of Switzerland and those of eastern Frankia merged to form the Holy Calvinist Union, an organization devouted to reviving spirtuality in the region and resisting the New Papal Union which has claimed sovereignty there since 1964. Thousands of ministers and followers of Calvinism plan to march in the streets of Geneva tomorrow to show the pope and "his Catholic nations" that they are a strong people, willing to protest to get their way.

RESULTS: Protestants in eastern France and Switzerland are now radical Protestants who oppose Papal authority.

As 1965's Farmer's Almanac predicted, this year gave way to a higher than normal amount of crop produce for East Asia. Hard work, frequent showers, and favorable weather increased food output by 3% from last year's harvest in some areas. Hopefully this will alleviate some of the troubles of the starving peasantry in the Far East.

We welcome to new sphere of Christian faith in Frankia. Protestants will recieve equal civil rights to other Frankians. Frankian Companies whom disapprove of Protestants joining them just beacuse of religion will result in a $1000 fine. However should Protestants and Catholics take up arms against one another, the Frankian Government will take actions on those who did so equally. Though totally beliving in a diffrent idea of the same faith, Frankians must not shed blood on their fellow brothers.
