Arcturus VI

'I've never been to a place like this, the women are in such a state of...undress...' A young, drunken, Shock Trooper was distracted by a beautiful woman passing by, she was completely nude except for a dazzling necklace made of diamonds. The Trooper to the left of him laughed at how his friend managed to remain so well spoken after so much to drink. 'That? That's nothing, G.I.' laughed the Bartender through his thick, red, mustache.
The Bar, named "The Pomegranate", was teeming! Good news for the owners of the establishment, it had never been this busy, ever. Not since they came, that is.
Soldiers by their thousands, all dressed in black and red. Rough and tumble types, darked haired ruffians all of them mixed with civilians from all over. Most took well to life on Arcturus...almost too well.
'Why don't you sit right here, dollface!' said a black bearded Soldier, grabbing a young woman by the waist and forcing her to sit on his lap. On any other planet this would seem unwanted and deserving of action, however, on Arcturus the women were more welcoming of male attention, especially from foreigners, soldiers preferably. Military men were ideal for the young women of Arcturus. They had tons of disposable income, were in most cases better company than local men, and most importantly, they might be able to marry one of them and get the hell off of Arcturus. It was forbidden for a woman to leave the world with out their husbands in attendance. After the first gate opened, Arcturians were leaving by their thousands to travel the galaxy, men simply bought a ticket on the next ship out, women had to find alternate means.
'I'm on deployment, do you know what that means?' slurred one of the men, a Captain, though you couldn't tell him from the other drunks. The beautiful young girl shook her head, she didn't speak Aumanii. 'It means I'm going very far away, to die.'
Casualties in the latest war were appalling.
'Blown in two by a bug zapper!' The Captain snipped his fingers together like a pair of scissors. The girl giggled at the gesture. The Captain smiled like a shark and slowly drank a shot of the local liquor, promptly passing out.
The Aumanii were the first to arrive, but by this point the ITH had also discovered this backwater. Travelers from both Hermes and ITH sides of the fence began to pour onto this lush, tropical, world as it quickly became not only a swinging vacation spot, but a pivotal point of exchange between two recently introduced competitors.
