Pracha Government Falls Apart!
(Kardil, Prachanda)

NEWS:
President Ali Benin Salif delivered a speech earlier this morning, calling for all warring factions to cease their aggression immediately and form a Government of National Unity, so far, this has had no effect on the near-Civil War conditions.

"If we do not unite now, then there will be no time left, our children will learn to hate on the basis of ethnicity and religion, our children will die, they will watch us die, they will hate. We cannot allow our peaceful country to be torn apart by wranglings, I beg you, all involved parties, stop the bloodshed, return to the Senate."- Ali Benin Salif

Meanwhile, the Siege of Walidiyah continues, with casualties mounting as food and medical supplies cannot get into the town. The Central Committee of the Thunderbolt Command Centre said yesterday, "the siege will continue until the city falls, it will continue until they surrender Walidiyah and we can begin unifying the country by force.". An ex-Senator of the Fatimid Restoration Army said: "We must consider Walidiyah a sign, it is a sign that though the TCC and other factions claim to want unity, they will only resort to bloodshed to gain it. We are reinforcing Hakimiyah and we are sure we will be able to relieve the siege at Walidiyah, we will be successful."

Similar words were uttered by the Movement for a Free Kurdistan, which stated in a general communique: "The Siege at Walidiyah is proof that we cannot live alongside the Arabs, if the Arabs cannot get along with themselves, how can they tolerate us?"

As the bodies begin to mount, it seems there is little stopping the Civil War.

SUMMARY:
As the news has stated, the Pracha government has been torn apart, in January, the Kurdish Front offered an ultimatum to the government, they demanded the government accept a 10-point programme which would have given the Kurds complete autonomy, when the government failed to reach a ruling, the Kurdish Front took to the streets, declaring war, however, they soon split into various factions based on disagreement about the range of autonomy, with some calling for an outright seperate Kurdish country. The Sunni, Shia, Druze and Christian blocs within the Arab population split on actions and ideologies, and have declared war on each other, as well. The government has lost all control and the Pracha National Army has become split, with soldiers and commanders alike deserting to arm their factions. This Civil War will decide the fate of Prachanda, Prachanda could emerge an Imperial state, Multi-Party Democracy, Communist, Fascist or could be disbanded all-together, with Arabs and Kurds completely splitting. Each Party has their own ambitions and will work to win.

RULES:
The War is not simply Arab versus Kurd, but rather, a war between ideologies and various National tendancies. Each group tends to have a Religious, Secular and Other Party, though this isn't neccesarily always true.

You can aid whatever faction you wish, and even make factions basically a proxy for your own country, but, you cannot radically change the ideologies therein (eg. you can't turn the Salafist Combat Brigade into a Atheist Communist grouping), you can however, change the ideology somewhat, for example, the Socialist Unity Party could turn very moderate Socialist or hard-line.

You are free to ally factions with whoever you wish, Kurd with Arab, Shia with Christian etc. The goal is for one group to eventually win and take over as the government of Prachanda.

If you wish to control a faction, simply message me over Nation States, and if you get there first, the faction will be yours.

If we run out of factions, and someone wishes to enter, they can message me, proposing a new faction in one of the sides and if I approve it, then they can bring a new force in.

Each faction has their own cities that are effectively their capitals, the main cities in the country are as follows:
Mainly Sunni-
Baqurah (AMOS capital)
Karifah (PIB capital)
Dijal (SCB capital)

Mainly Shia-
Husayniyah (PIRP capital)

I am working on a background War story for this topic, basically as a sort of further intro, titled "The Great Kurdish War" set in the 1987-1989 time period, it will lead to the formation of a Kurdish autonomous state (which isn't very autonomous) and lead into the grievances that caused this current war. Basically, if you are using anyone who used to be in the Pracha National Army in your RPs, which should pretty much be everyone, or if you are a Kurdish faction, that RP character probably fought in the war. It will also help background these characters, the government, country as well as give me the excuse I need for the President to be a hero of some kind. TG me with ideas for it and characters that are now in your faction and I will piece together a nice background war, hopefully.

"Having been informed, and keeping a close eye on the War that is occuring, I must respond by announcing full support for the Thunderbolt Command Centre, their tendancy towards Arabism is deeply popular and there is no doubt they will be successful, the Ba'ath Party of al-Qarujaya is now sending Howitzers and SCUD-D's to the aid of our allies in the TCC, for the purpose of destroying the FRA in the current siege of Walidiyah."

The PNA (Pracha National Army) was a shell of its former self. Offering little in way of hope its members had turned to the other emerging factions; as it stood though a few loyalists had stayed on – hangers on to their last orders. Mahdiyah, the former capital of the nation, was still held by these remaining loyalists and this intrigued Otariet command. With the senate abandoned and the armed forces falling back to more culturally or strategically significant locations it meant that a skeleton force of the remaining PNA was left garrisoning the former capital. As soon as Otariet command became aware of this the radios on the old official government channels began to crackle and come to life. It was a long shoot but maybe, with a little luck, they might be able to contact the remaining PNA heads and offer them support. Enough backing to hold the capital.

“This is a Radio Message from the Kingdom of Otares please respond. We are looking for the Commander and Chief of the Pracha National Army – please respond.” The message repeated regularly, directed at the capital. The signal rolled across the frequencies used by the old government – reaching into the former heart of the fallen republic.

"Sir, there is a message, another government", a soldier said, as he walked into the Presidential palace. "6 months too late, but I suppose it is better than never." Ali Benin Salif responded, as he listened to the message, he could only think back. President Ali Benin Salif had been a hero, having worked and served in the military for decades, he had entered politics at the age of 50, being elected to the Senate and at 56, had become the President, he was now 64, his first term had seen the splinter of the Senate into blocs consisting entirely of Ethno-Religious groups and his second term had seen the splinter of those groups and a Civil War, "If I am to be a failure, then I will be remembered at least for my efforts." Ali Benin Salif ordered a response to the Otares government.

"This is President Ali Benin Salif of the Republic of Prachanda, I am acting Commander of the Pracha National Army. As you may know, our Army is weakened, our most able commanders have now gone over to other factions, most of our soldiers have too. The old notions of Brotherhood are gone, Three divisions, the 3rd Division, 7th Armored Division and 11th Division are all that is left, they are under my personal control, and alongside a small militia, comprise our force guarding al-Mahdiyah. The First Battle of Mahdiyah severely weakened our forces and the Second Battle, well, we would have lost the city outright if the Sectarian Wars hadn't driven the enemy against themselves. We are looking for any assistance we can get, specifically, any supplies or training that can be offered. Right now, defending the last remaining city under government control is the top priority. We are glad to see we still have some supporters abroad. We hope to hear from you."

This message from the President went out to the Kingdom of Otares, President Ali Benin Salif hoped for a response, if the capital fell, he had no doubt that it would fall again, after all, no force had the strength to take al-Mahdiyah and then hold it against another offensive, they were too evenly matched and sadly, the Government was probably far weaker than any of the sectarian forces.

OOC: That's cool, but I do note, that I do not want too much help to the government, it is pretty much confined to a single city and survives only because the factions lack the power to destroy it and then survive any new offensive. At the end of the Civil War, a new government will emerge based on who wins this War and I will play the country based on the gimmick of whatever side won...and of course likely ally heavily with whoever was playing as that faction.

OOC NOTE: Having received several questions about it, the official ruling is that countries should primarily support their faction by aid and trying and by small volunteer units (no matter how well-trained or conscripted these volunteers may be >_>). This is a Civil War and not meant to be transformed into a War between Countries, just proxies of countries.

Second NOTE: The notes section of the first post is constantly updated to show who has what faction. Also, it is updated for other reasons, like to tell about the idea for the Great Kurdish War background story, you guys should probably check it out.

Makurah, Prachanda

A fine layer of dirt hung in the air, floating lazily through the dark, spartan office of Zulfikar Ajam, chairman of the Prachandan Fascist Army, more commonly referred to as the "green shirts" due to the dress of their militant wing. The chairman sat in an aging wooden chair, watching the tall, red-haired man pacing in front of Ajam's desk.

"Mr Ajam, before Kensington is willing to finance your...operation," the man said, sliding his government identification card across the desk, "it will be necessary to provide Her Majesty's Government with full details of your organization, especially regarding the Greenshirts. We are loathe to bankroll a party incapable of achieving victory. You must understand that we support the PFA with the expectation that Fascist Prachanda will support Londinian policy objectives throughout the world."

Ajam picked up the card, holding it up to the light filtering in through the small window. He tossed it back to the rigid Londinian standing in front of him. "Mr Blair, I think you've found the right group for you. With nearly forty five thousand Greenshirts available to fight - within Makurah alone - and a rather persuasive message for a disillusioned populace - all the Prachandan Fascist Party requires is arms and armour. Unless, of course, you propose we take down an entire government with only pistols." The chairman handed the Londinian a slim binder. "You'll find a full readout of our capabilities there, as you requested in your transmission."

"Very good, Mr Ajam," the Londinian said, leafing through the documents. "It's a pleasure to do business with you. Expect your first shipment within the week, and we ought to have War Ministry trainers by then as well."

Umar al-Sayid smiled, the 24 hour deadline had passed and still, no response from the Fatimid Restoration Army. "Sir, what are your orders?" asked an officer, "Use the Howitzer's and the 2S19s to start striking the city, make sure no one leaves the city, after enough damage, give them 24 hours, if they don't surrender, I want the city decimated until they do." "s...sir are you sure about that? al-Walidiyah may be a Druze center, but they're still Arab, they're still our people." the officer replied, nervously. "Our victory is worth more than the lives of a thousand-year old cult." said al-Sayid, with that, the officer turned a left to deliver the orders.

Umar al-Sayid glanced upon the wall, noticing old portraits of himself and newspaper clippings. His eyes particularly set on a picture of him and his old commander, Ali Benin Salif. "Hah, the Great Kurdish War, those were the days." Umar al-Sayid had once been an officer himself, under the command of Ali Benin Salif, in the final phase of the war. He could still remember his old arguments with his Comrade "They are Kurds, they don't belong here, they will keep uprising, they will keep causing chaos until our country is ruined. After all the blood they have spilled, do you intend to not take revenge?" "Umar, our hands are as dirty as theirs, there have been wrongs by both parties, if we can come together as one country..." responded Ali, "There is no one country with them, there is only one people, a people they are not a part of!" snapped Umar. Umar had lost his family in the Third Battle of Siyaal, his parents and his wife had died in the Kurdish offensives there, and he had never forgiven them.

Just then, a message came though that signals had been intercepted, apparently al-Mahdiyah was in contact with foreign governments, The Kingdom of Otares. "Fools!" Yelled Umar "Why do they seek to uphold a government that doesn't exist anymore?!" He looked at the picture on the wall and sighed "Old friend, if you had just listened to me, you wouldn't be in the situation you are in right now."

"Send out two messages...two channels" ordered Umar:

Message #1:
To the Central "Government" in al-Mahdiyah led by Ali Benin Salif:
"Comrade, I feel it is alright for me to address you as such, considering our history together. You and I fought alongside each other once during the Great Wars, why do you insist on upholding values that have passed you by? The world doesn't stand for them anymore, why do you? Brotherhood can only be between us, as Arabs. Harbor no ill will against me, for remember, it was the Kurds who struck the first blow in this war, as they did in the last one. I call upon you to join me, join the Thunderbolt Command Centre and bring your troops over to us, and your position as President will be retained, if not, then I am afraid it will be hard for me to protect you in the coming war. We may be able to take al-Walidiyah, but we cannot relieve a siege of the capital, should it come. I beg you, come back to your home, to your allies, and we can fight together again, we can be victorious again."
~Your Comrade-in-Arms, Umar al-Sayid

Message #2:
SECRET CHANNEL TO ZULFIKAR AJAM:
"Good sir, I do remember your services, did we not once encounter each other before? You, of all people are reasonable and wise, you recognize the character of our country in the present, our country is Arab, it is rightfully so, our problems stem from traitors in our midst, the Kurds and their allies and lackeys. Ali Benin Salif has lost his way, he cannot truly comprehend the racial character of our country, he is lost on the ways of peace with the Kurds. They say that the capital cannot be taken by a single force, they say it is too strong, but I say, that with our forces combined, we can take it. Together, we can rule the country, and the first step is the capital, once it has been taken, governments will flock to recognize the New Order! I hope for your urgent response, the Government does not have many allies, but they have some, and we must act more quickly than they."
~Your brother in Arabism, Umar al-Sayid

Umar simply smiled, he could only imagine the country without the Kurds, a country with a strong Arab race, then, more countries. The Umayyads would rise again, and what a dream it was.

OOC: The government has little authority, the civil war is more than just simply government and non-government, the government controls an area around and including a single city. Most factions have a swathe of land and a main city-base.

If you would like to get involved, choose a faction not already chosen, surely, if you control them and they win, the future government would be willing to give some major concessions, as they owe their existance to you.

Ali Benin Salif read the message again, with sadness in his heart. After all, it should have never come to this.

"Dear Brother al-Sayid; You ask why I continue to uphold the values of brotherhood between Kurds and Arabs? Because they are correct. Perhaps time has indeed passed me by, perhaps the world has, but if I am the last peacemaker on Earth, so be it. This war is just as much our fault as theirs, had we not been strained with so much sectarianism amongst ourselves, we could have given the Kurds more rights, and it would be over with. Do not blame them for wanting to be treated like humans. The government will not surrender, it will not take sides with Arabs, Kurds or any religious faction, we want unity between all people. As such, we wish for you to relieve your siege of al-Walidiyah as an act of good faith between us. If that is not enough, just consider it a favour to an old friend."

The reply was sent, immediately, a thought crossed the President's mind, "Why has only Umar made a real move at taking strategic positions? Perhaps there will be an alliance against this city and government." calling in his officers, the President ordered; "Send a message to the Kingdom of Otares, request any training and equipment...what is the size of the remaining air force?" "Loyal to us, sir?" "Yes" "Umm...none." "Well, the news keeps getting better!" said the President.

"Herr Strasser,do have a seat," The bearded leader of the CDP motioned to a creaky chair,in placewith a tumbledown office in this warren of a city. "Thank you" The blond-haired foreign secetary put his somewhat impressive weight on the rickety chair, which groaned under him.
The chair fit in with everything in this room. The city was one of the oldest modern cities in PRACHANDA. It left a lot to be desired in the eyes of someone who had grown up in a first world country, the only son of oil magnates gone bankrupt. From his briefcase,he pulled out a sheaf of papers in a manila envelope, handing it to the CDP leader. " If you accept our offer, you will gain this. Please read."
The leader, a short man named Al-Kadeef, let out a low whistle at the data.
"M4s,FN FALs,HMGs,and a column of AMX-13 tanks for ourself? As well as your troops? I would be damned if I did not accept this. Very well, what are your terms?"He asked
"Very simple, you seem to be the most moderate faction here. We don't want anything like the FFI incident to happen here. No looting, pillaging, raping and genocide.Do we have a deal?"
"All right. I accept. Coffee?"

It was a rainy morning in Samarkand, unusual for a city in the middle of steppes of Central Asia. A man, wearing traditional clothes with a brown briefcase stepped out of a black BMW, parked infront of a tall building. The security guard approached him with an umbrella and helped him into the building through a pair of glass doors.

He took the elevator to the 21st floor and walked briskly down the hallway until he arrived at a room with a white door. A bearded guard in khakhi uniform immediately stood up and gave the man a sharp salute before opening the door for him. "Thank you Hassan," he whispered.

In the room was a tall table and behind sat a man, middle aged, bearded, with Olive complexion. He too was clad in the traditional garb. On his table was a name tag: Mirza Jihan bin Suleyman. "Selam alaykum," greeted the visitor. "Alaykum al-selam," replied the prince. "It is good to see you again Osman. Have a seat." He then tossed Osman a copy of 'Transoxanian Times'. "I've seen it in the news this morning." Osman said after reading the headline: 'Pracha Government Falls, Seige of Walidiyah Continues.' "Do you want us to get involved in this, your highness?"

"Ofcourse, and that is the reason why you are here. My father has told me, not too long ago, that it is time for our nation to start playing our part in the global stage and exert influence over other nations. Now, this is a very good chance for us to do what my father wishes.

"These are some information we have found on the Pracha Islamic Brotherhood," the Mirza handed Osman a paper file, "they are a moderate islamist faction based in Karifah. We could send them some funds.

"Most of the information on the civil war are also in the file I just gave you. I shall be flying to Bukhara tomorrow to attend a very important meeting and will not back soon. You have the full permission to send PIB aids and do whatever you see fit. Good luck and godspeed. Selam alaykum."

Osman stood up and bowed, "Alaykum al-selam."

"Have they responded?" asked Umar al-Sayid, sitting in a chair at the head of the table, alongside the rest of the leaders of the TCC. "Yes, Ali Benin Salif responded this morning he.." replied one of his messengers, being cut off by Umar's reply, "He said no, I could have guessed that, I really didn't care to have it confirmed, I was asking about al-Walidiyah...have they surrendered yet?" "I..I'm sorry sir, but that is also negative." replied the messenger. "Sorry?! HA! There is no sadness here, our enemies have chosen to be unwise and ignore our warnings, then they will be made an example of!" yelled Umar.

Umar walked over to a model of al-Walidiyah, conveniantly at his disposal >_> on the table. "Here is al-Walidiyah. Our units are approaching from the north-west, I want the 7th and 4th divisions to move together to the North of the city, use half of our air force to accompany them, I want the MiGs making sure nothing strikes us from the air, the Sus should ensure that nothing on the ground survives. Use the Tu-22s to begin bombardment of the city, move in with the 10th division behind the 7th and 4th and begin artillery strikes." Umar paused for a moment.

Umar looked across the table, immediately across from him was Ezra Ali Kemal, he stood about 5 foot 7, with a beard and darker skin. Ezra was mixed Arab-Pashtun, and a renowned ex-mercenary. Back during the Great Wars, Ezra had been responsible for relieving several sieges, most notably, Umar and Ezra had met when Ezra commanded one of the forces that liberated Siyaal from the Kurds. Their service together had made them friends, well, as close to being friends as someone of their stature and pride could be. When Ezra had heard the offer from Umar to serve at the head of the Jaysh Daud militia, he had jumped at the chance. After all, they had fought together before, and Ezra's family had also suffered at the hands of the Druze and Kurds, for him, just like Umar, it was a chance at revenge. "Ezra, you will take the Jaysh Daud and sweep in from the south. Take 15,000 men and make an assault, I want anti-tank men up front followed by the others." ordered Umar, "Yes", was the one-word reply from Ezra, a common response from a man with few words.

"Sir, who will lead the other divisions?" asked an officer. Umar looked at his Generals, many of them had seen service in the Great Wars, but most of them hadn't, the vast majority of people who had flocked to the cause of the Thunderbolt Command Centre were military, but had only heard about the exploits of Umar during the war. Umar saw one of his Generals, a younger one, Rashid al-Aziz. All of the other Generals stood anxiously looking at Umar, hoping for a chance at command, but not Rashid, Rashid was still sitting, eyes fixed on the model of al-Walidiyah, studying it. Umar was impressed, a Commander should always study the terrain in-depth, he should seek to surround and destroy his enemy in a swift blow. "Aziz. What do you think the main flaw of my plan is?" asked Umar, the other Generals staring complexed, after all, Umar was a War Hero, he didn't make mistakes, at least not to them. "You sent all of the air force with the Northern force, the Southern flank will have strong and dedicated men, but with any real resistance, will be forced into human-wave attacks, probably futile ones." replied Rashid, quite calmly. "Good. Then what would you suggest I do?" asked Umar. "Send the 2 Tu-22s with the Jaysh Daud in the South." replied Rashid. "Then I shall." said Umar, quite pleased. "And Rashid" "Yes?" "You shall lead the Saiqa force today" announced Umar, "Thank you, I won't let you down." answered Rashid.

"Today, we crush al-Walidiyah, if they don't surrender to our attacks, then there will be no Walidiyah left at all, we will either gain a city, or we will set an example!" said Umar, dismissing his Commanders.

Summary:
-Moving to assault al-Walidiyah and end the siege
-4th, 7th, 10th Divisions moving from the North with air support under the command of Rashid al-Aziz
-Jaysh Daud sweeping in from the South with bomber support under the command of Ezra Ali Kemal
-Artillery strikes and Air strikes on the city
-Offer for the city to surrender at any point and go unharmed, if the offer is not accepted, the city will be annihilated.

AHLUL BAYT, PRACHANDA

A small unmarked plane touched down on the unpaved runway of the ex-PNA airbase at the SUP-controlled city of Ahlul Bayt. The airstrip had fallen into disuse since the SUP had taken the city, and the old air force jets were sitting in their hangar, since few in the SUP actually knew how to fly them.

A young-looking, short, thin Asian man hopped out of the jet, followed by three men carrying AK-103s. Sitting in a pickup truck, with a machine gun in the back and makeshift armor plates were a group of SUP militants. In the passenger's seat was the man who was clearly in charge of them. They drove up towards the four men and hopped out.

The leader approached the Japanese man. "Comrade Inoue. So nice of you to show up."

"But of course..." Inoue replied.

"Our leader, Comrade Lamya al-Badr wishes to convey her thanks to the People's Republic of H..." the man began.

"Now, now, I don't work for anyone, Muhammad. Not directly," Inoue cut him off.

Muhammad looked down, "Yes, of course."

"Now, listen up," Inoue said, "Tell your Comrade al-Badr that my employers wish her to know that she won't be paying for any of this. My employers have an interest in both your victory and keeping your country out of the hands of far-right nationalists, religious fundamentalists, and especially fascists."

"Yes," Muhammad said, nodding.

"Now hurry up and get these guns and stuff out of this plane. There will be two or three larger planes with more stuff coming behind us, so you'll have to be quick about it," Inoue said, "We're on a tight schedule as it is."

"Yes, comrade," Muhammad said. He signaled to his men, and they immediately got out to load up their pickup with the supplies.

The deck of the carriers Attica and Kalin were a buzz. Soldiers prepped planes and loaded munitions. Attica and Kalin both lead their own carrier groups but today they two massive vessels sailed in tandem – with their merged escorts providing a small armada of 251 ships.

Otares never made any gesture halfway. Support would be given to the government and these ships were both the show of force and a logistical launching point for Otariet intervention – in whatever shape it may come in.

In the operations room of the Attica the masterminds behind the Otariet plans gazed down open the information before them. A contrasting mix of old feudal style parchments with wax seals and modern computers lay before them. Quill pens and styluses for touch screens, the dichotomy spoke to the nature of the feudal government in Otares.

Alexi Gorbev stroked his chin – the short trimmed beard made an audible scratching noise in the quiet room. The woman immediately across from him fiddled with a payback device. The message clicked on after a moment – the reply sounded much better after the feedback was cleaned up.

When the message finished she looked up to Alexi. Rubbing a thin line of a scar that ran over her right temple – marring her otherwise perfect complexion –the blonde spoke quietly in a firm tone.
“They are expecting us to reply soon. As it is they are already asking us for training and equipment.” Alexi nodded and leaned back against the metal bulkhead. His hand still slowly stroking his facial hair – as if the pose of pontificating would tease out the answer.
“I know Desrai but the moment we break radio silence from this position the location of the fleet will be revealed. As it is,”
“Gorbev I know.” The interruption was not curt so much as to the point. While General Gorbev spoke slowly and aloud General Katriné Desrai preferred to assume understanding and take it out of you hide later if you could not keep up with her. Alexi glanced down to the fleet’s status report. 251 ships steamed in rigid formation and not a single emission. Even the armada’s sizeable sonar foot print was being monitored by advanced subs.

Alexi knew that Katriné was aware that radio transmission from the fleet would make a lot of wasted effort – and with the Prachian air force turned in on itself there was little chance an overhead flight would spot them this far out. That said he also understood her point – their new allies in this endeavor could not be left to twist.

His thoughts were interrupted again when Katriné spoke once more.
“We need to send some advance parties with some equipment.”
“Ahh.” Alexi smiled to himself. “Enough tight band receivers and encryption devices to have secure, and clandestine, conversation.” Alexi nodded. Katriné for her part knew her partner well enough to see when his assent was coming. She was already quickly tapping on a PDA and issuing orders to the rest of the fleet.

“There is the issue of the Druze however,” Alex’s eyes slowly panned over the table which – over the course of their conversation was accumulating debris. “The Thunderbolt demand has came and went. We can be sure that soon shells will come – troops as well.” Alexi straightened off the bulkhead to lean over the operational map – gesturing with his middle finger. Katriné for her part was already starting to plot flight plans. “I want recon done in this area. No engagements – not yet. Single planes - three in the air at a time – we need pictures – locations of artillery sites for later strikes – check enemy air force numbers…”

Meanwhile on the deck of the Kalin the blades of one of the transport helos were spinning up. 12 soldiers and a small team of war zone engineers were loading the last of their gear on board. This dual vertical prop transport was lightly armoured and fast. Its standing orders were to setup a liaison comms post in the capital. The PNA would have its response and the position of the fleet would remain secure – for now.

Summary
Stealth planes are doing recon in the conflict zone (al-Walidiyah)
A transport chopper is coming into the capital’s airspace.

President Ali Benin Salif had just received word about al-Walidiyah, he sat in his chair, in thought and motionless, as an officer came in asking "Sir?" "Yes?" "There is a chopper entering our range, should we open fire?" "No, of course not, I know exactly who it is." Ali Benin left his seat and began walking, they offered clearance for landing zone #3, the Presidential Palace, he would meet them in-person, himself, as he always did. Ali Benin was not a man for too many luxuries, he always did duties himself. Still, as he walked, his thoughts could only but focus on al-Walidiyah.

He thought to himself "Umar, if I could have only truly reached you back then...none of this would be happening." An aide of his noticed the worried expression, and as if reading his thoughts, she replied: "There is nothing you could have done, he is filled with rage and thoughts of vengeance, there is nothing that can stop his revenge, except military strength. You must confront him on the battlefield eventually, for the sake of every Kurd and Druze in this country." Salif stopped, "I can't. He is an old friend, when we first met, he knew very little about wars or battles, but I saw in him a spark, he enjoyed learning, he enjoyed strategy, the maneuvers, the thought process...that is very rare to find." "Then are you willing to let him take the country and murder 25% of it, just to keep a single friend?" asked the aide. "No, I couldn't let that happen." replied Salif. "But, surely you also know he will come for you eventually." "Nonsense, we are old friends, I taught him much of what he knows, he may hate the Kurds and Druze, but he would never open fire on his own comrades, that is not the Umar I know." replied Ali Benin as he continued walking.

The helicopter was now in sight, as it landed, Ali Benin Salif looked at it and then looked at his aide, fixing his hair, he questioned "Do I look alright?" "You always do" was her response. They continued walking to the chopper.

SIDE-NOTE (of some major importance): As of right now, Bynamar has a half-day notice to respond to the attack on the City, I have telegrammed him once telling him of the siege, and if he does not put up a defense in the next 12 hours, he will be penalized the city. That also brings up an interesting question, What should happen to the city of al-Walidiyah if there is no defence by Bynamar? Should it simply be destroyed absolutely? or Should it be given to Karuchea in good shape? I really don't care, but I didn't think it would be fair if I simply gave the city away, if the city was destroyed, we would just have one less city.

OOC (Well my next post won’t be up until slightly later. I can try to aim for my lunch break – which would be and hour before your 12hr deadline – but could you not simply RP a more passive defence of the city? If I can get the President to agree to it – and if you could Telegram me some notes on the air arsenals involved in the battle I’d like to talk the President about his thoughts on the city. I am just having some trouble finding time around my work schedule is all)

(ooc I had time for one before work you might get another out of me before lunch still)

The chopper pilot gave a sight of relief when the capital’s air defences offered him landing coordinates instead of screaming death. The craft skittered quickly down the prescribed path and began making preparations to land. Even before the wheels were on the tarmac Otariet soldiers were jumping from the craft. A trolley was tossed from fifteen feet, clattering to the ground noisily – while at closer to ten feet a soldier carrying an attaché case dropped down into a paratrooper style tuck and roll. Coming to her feet – her comrades already starting to unload wooden crates behind her - she strode forward, adjusting the case to her left side.

Her stride was purposeful, but not without grace. Her steps did not bring down the same heavy strikes has her colleagues. And while most military men in their mid to late 20s strode in such a way that saw their shoulders sway this woman had none of that – albeit a gentle sway to her hips.

She came up five feet short of the president and her boots snapped together – her right fist clasped over chest and then snapped out at 45 degrees above the parallel to the ground. Dark haired and standing at a mere 5’6 she raised her voice over the sounds of the still landing craft behind her. There was no strain in her face as the volume came from her diaphragm to preserve her throat.
“President Salif sir, I am Imperator Kant’ski and I am here to act as the liaison between yourself and the Otariet commitment to this theatre.” Tossing her thumb over her shoulder to the soldiers who were now starting to form rank behind her – equipment in tow – she continued “This is my staff and we’ve brought some secure comms equipment so that we can coordinate our activates without broadcasting over the unsecured air.” The Imperator looked around her – taking in the tarmac. “Not to rush the formalities sir but you and I need to talk in a more secure location – and if you can give my boys your say so we can get to setting up that comms link.”

Meanwhile many miles above ground in orbit three satellites readjusted into geostationary above Pracha. These were passive observers – pictures and relays. Their cousins however would pass in low orbit over the country in just under three hours – giving the theatre an active RADAR wash. There was precious little time before the al-Walidiyah conflict reached the point of no return and the Otariets knew it.

OOC: Well, my warning was specifically for Bynamar, it is his city, and he has had no RP calling for a defence of it, nor has he had a real RP yet. It is a penalty on him and him only, so, anyone else's defence of it for him, would just be allowing him to get by without RPing, though he signed up for this War.

I am considering just having his troops mutiny in al-Walidiyah due to neglect (hehe) or just having the defence fall apart and get butchered by Karuchea. He now has 6 hours, which, combined with the deadlines Karuchea gave, gave him 60 hours to get an RP stopping the siege or asking for aid. 60 Hours with notice is pretty good time to get something going. Even with bureacracy, 60 hours is pretty bad response time.

But, I'll talk to Prachanda, expect my next RP to be the result of the siege....yeah...in about an hour, when I'm finished with some stuff, so, if Bynamar hasn't replied by then, then I will simply take whatever Prachanda says and put it in my RP, my victorious RP ^_^

They had heard about the marches of the Jaysh Daud first. Thinking it was an assault from the South, the forces of al-Walidiyah had moved their main forces into the southern defenses. They were also expecting a Northern attack at some point, but not during any immediate time.

Ezra Ali Kemal had given orders for his Jaysh Daud, the orders were to make a full-out charge with their most inexperianced men first, that would get them into fighting shape. He also had ordered the 2 Tu-22s to hold off, waiting for his orders for the bombing run. The Jaysh Daud charged, and as they did, Ezra called in the bombers, 1 approached from the South-East, the other from the South-West, caught off guard, the FRA's main bunkers were obliterated, panicking, most of the forces began retreating further into the city, abandoning their supplies where they were.

Rashid al-Aziz stood looking out from the distance. Through his binoculars, he could see the city, and he could feel the seeds of chaos within it. Immediately, he ordered artillery strikes upon the centre of the city, while the 4th and 7th divisions began their march, the air forces went alongside the 4th and 7th, striking anything on the ground, but more importantly, they relayed information back to the 4th and 7th. Just then, 2 MiG-21s appeared in the sky, and the Saiqa Air Force met them. The battle in the Air was unfair from the start, it was 8 on 2 and the Saiqa Air Force was much more modern. Though one of the MiG-31s was damaged, the Saiqa Air Force was able to down their foes with little trouble. The battle on the ground was just as unfair; the FRA troops retreating to the centre of the city were greeted with artillery, trapped between bombardments and the charging Jaysh Daud troops, most of them panicked and surrendered to the Jaysh Daud. Overall, about 10,000 personel were captured, not counting the strategic gains in intelligence.

The Prisoners were carted away, they were to be taken to internment and re-education camps, and eventually put into a militia of their own. As the battle continued, word came in from Umar al-Sayid, the orders were to make an example out of al-Walidiyah. Everyone knew what that meant, the artillery continued.

Suddenly, there was only quiet, the battle had ended. Word had reached HQ that perhaps the Otariets were coming to aid them, some foreign choppers had been spotted by recon near the capital, and it wasn't worth going head-to-head with a foreign power just for some rubble, the TCC fell back, moving into the country-side around what used to be al-Walidiyah. As they fell back, it was hard to tell that what they were moving from had once been a glorious city, there wasn't a building left standing of any real value and Umar preferred that. The people around al-Walidiyah, in the surrounding villages and mountains, greeted the TCC as liberators. Rashid smiled at that fact, the people probably didn't even really like the TCC, but it is better to be on the side of victory than dead.

Hearing the news, Umar al-Sayid was full of joy, and had radio and television broadcasts made; he was never someone to miss a good propaganda moment. As the citizens listened on the radio, TV and loudspeakers, they heard stories of how the al-Walidiyan defenders had been felled, and the Jaysh Daud forces had emerged victorious, capturing thousands, and losing only 32 lives in the process. The Jaysh Daud was becoming legendary already, credited for the entire fall of the city. This fact slightly annoyed Rashid, but he didn't really mind, after all, victory was victory, and one day, he would get his credit. Citizens flocked from across the Walidiyan Province and Siyaal Province, many were eager to join a victorious force that promised order amongst the chaos of war, and many were simply eager to join what they thought was the inevitable victory of the Thunderbolt Command Centre. In all likelihood, the TCC forces had probably tripled as a result of this victory, and the ensuing recruitment drive.

Umar sent out 3 signals:

1: To the Christian Democrat Party,
"Friends, we are both Christian, we are both Arab. Why not put aside petty differences for now? You have your enemies amongst the Kurds, and so do we. Surely, you have heard of our victory at al-Walidiyah, for word does travel quickly. We wish to accompany you in a campaign against the seperatists, they would have us fight amongst ourselves as they disintegrate our great Union. We cannot allow this, please respond in-kind and in brotherhood.
Your Arab Brother, Umar al-Sayid.

2: To the Kingdom of Otares,
"O' Foreign Kingdom, why do you trespass on our soil? We have detected you around the capital, this is a dispute in an Arab country, between Arabs, over the unity of their country, and to my knowledge, your country is not Arab. Do you wish to occupy us? or do you have more noble intentions? If Ali Benin Salif is your ally in this affair, and you are aiding him, then know that anything you do, could be done by us. I am an old friend of his, and would aid him if he were attacked. Surely, your scouts have now reported to you the results of al-Walidiyah, do not cross us, or the Unity of Prachanda, and you will not meet the same fate.
In peace and warning, Umar al-Sayid

3: To the Great Arab People of the Entire Country of Prachanda,
"Arab Brothers and Sisters, why do we fight amongst ourselves? Surely, most of you can remember, or at least have heard about the Great Kurdish War. Things have not changed, today, the Kurds still wish to commit the heinous and criminal crime of splitting our great country. We are bound by blood, religion is minor difference, but reality states that our blood, language and culture are the same. We are in an Arab country, with an Arab culture and the language of Arabic, we should not fight amongst ourselves while our enemies triumph. We must put down our swords, but to do so, we must first pick up the sword. We extend our call to all Arabs of the country of Prachanda, make your way to al-Siyaal and join the Saiqa, which rises now in the sky, and the rains from it sweep away our foes, as we swept them away in al-Walidiyah.
Your Brother and Servant, Umar al-Sayid

A secret signal also went out to al-Qarakayah (Karuchea):
"Brother Ahmed al-Bitar, we have had many flock to the call of Arabism, more will now indeed. We request supplies, as many guns as you can offer, as well as tanks, planes and artillery. Our forces have tripled from volunteers, but we need to make them a modern army, if we could have supplies, we could be invincible. Also, thank you for the information on the Otariet movements, we always appreciate more information. Also, thank you for the use of Fedayeen al-Bitar, without their recon, we could have never taken al-Walidiyah with such ease."

OOC: I thought that was fair, personally, the actually industrial base of Karuchea sees no change, thus he does not become too powerful because someone neglected to RP consistantly, while at the same time, the FRA is not penalized too heavily (after all, they were the only faction to start with 2 major cities, and now they have 1, making the entire field even). The city of Walidiyah will be wiped off, for the purposes of this Civil War, it is simply rubble now, and though Karuchea so elegantly forgot to mention in his RP, probably a million civilians (heh rhyme) perished in that battle.

That was a little warning to people, make sure to RP, if not often, then at least when I telegram you telling to do so. Honestly, if you don't RP every day, I don't care, but I do when you have nearly 3 days to RP a defense of a city, which I even informed was under siege when I first talked to Bynamar when he signed up for this.

The reply took some time as it came through pseudo official channels from the Otariet capital. Crossing the desks of several ministers the response came from the assistant deputy of the king’s advisory council.
“Umar al-Sayid you use the word trespass – to trespass is to operate without permission and your own President has given us the right to be here. We can assure you that The Kingdom of Otares has no intention to annex your nation and works to stabilize a failing government.

“In regards to the nature of your insurgency we can only wonder if the Druze defenders of al-Walidiyah consider this to be an Arab affair.

“In regards to your ability to offer what the President offers we must dispute your claim. The President represents the leadership of a sovereign nation whose legitimacy is not internationally questioned. Any government resulting from your successful insurrection would find itself disadvantaged internationally. If however your offer and hospitality is genuine then his majesty is prepared to send officials to consider you on his behalf,”

The situation room on the Attica was silent. The two generals stared at the recon data quietly.
“Well,” Alexi began but was promptly interrupted by Katriné.
“We’ve traced the air force used in the assault. We are also visually observing every arty piece that was used from orbit. We could launch air strikes – prevent them from mounting anymore offensives in the short term.” Alexi shook his head.
“No, we’d tip our hand. Every faction would know we have carriers in theatre somewhere. We can seem them from orbit? Then for now we watch.” Alexi gave a sigh, wondering how many lives his caution would cost Prachanda. “What of the secure link with the President? I want to start getting some troops in the capital and cannot do that until he clears some runways for us…. Once our people are on the ground we won’t need so much clearance on their side of things.” Katriné nodded quickly.
“The Imperator has not called in but we confirmed the landing and contact.”
“We need to…” Alexi motioned over the map of the former city “Do something about this.” Katriné nodded and waited for him to continue. “The Druze refugees – are they mostly fleeing towards the hills here?”
“Yes.”
“Then we need to see what we can do about bringing Red Cross or some other international aid organization in. Tell them that we will provide security and pay for 1/3 of its costs.” Katriné looked at her comrade with a quizzical look.
“Gorbev this isn’t a humanitarian mission. If the international community wants to put down a secure camp then that is their business. “ Alexi shook his head in the negative.
“It will take some time but the Druze will want revenge for this – we need some way of channeling that, focusing it, wielding it. The FRA has abandoned its people and we cannot have them flocking to any of the other sides. We might loose the trained fighters but there is a very angry population here. If we have people in on the ground we can profile, offer training to” Katriné gawked at him.
“You cannot suggest we train these people AND negotiate with al-Sayid.”
“Negotiations could start as soon as tomorrow you know how slow humanitarian movements are it could take weeks for this to even move forward – that doesn’t mean we should pass over our foothold into the Druze community…”

Later that day a message was spammed out to many world leaders and NGOs about the human catastrophe of al-walidiyah and how action was needed. In the more private channels the Otariets offered to pay for as much as 40% of the operation – all the while providing security and logistics. All that could be done now was to wait for a response.

(OOC: Yea I am trying to drag ANOTHER party into this. For better or worse these types of NGOs don’t really exist in Otares. So if any of you more compassionate progressive nations are reading and want to get involved…)

Telegram from President Ali Benin Salif to the Kingdom of Otares:
We have cleared the runways for your assistance. After al-Walidiyah, we cannot help but think that we need defences here, I don't think that Umar would ever attack me, we are friends, after all, but someone might just get the idea that a strong coalition could take down our government. Also, if it wouldn't be too much to ask, I would request you do some recon on Umar and the TCC, I want to know their leaders, their structure and their plans, just to be safe. If at all possible, I am still convinced that a Unity Government can be formed, but only if this extremism dies down.

Umar smiled as he read the response from the Otariets, they simply didn't understand, nor would they. He decided to give them a response before attending to more important matters

Message to the Kingdom of Otares:
"Kind sir, you ask if the Druze in al-Walidiyah consider it an Arab affair, but I respond in-kind that there are no Druze in al-Walidiyah, so it is a trick question. We do however, have support around what is some rubble, which we nicknamed al-Walidiyah, perhaps it is the same? We are indeed genuine in our calls for Unity, and we have had several discussions with Ali Benin Salif. We would also call for talks with you, we are sending a diplomat to the capital to engage in discussions with both you and the President."
Commander of Arabs, Umar al-Sayid

Umar had taken the nickname "Commander of the Arabs" after his victory at al-Walidiyah and his alliance with the other Christian factions. He called in his team of Generals, as they walked in there was a smile on all of their faces; much joy had come from the victory at al-Walidiyah, and there was a general feeling that they were on the right side of history. "Ezra Ali Kemal, I must congratulate you on your victory, if you are ready to return to the battles, I have another task for you." said Umar, "Of course, sire, battle is what I live for." responded Ezra, "Then, all of you know of our alliance with our Arab Brothers, the Christian Democrat Party; they are making an advance on the Kurdish front known as the Salah ah-Din Unity Brigade. I wish to accompany them, to show them several things..." stopping, Umar observed that Rashid al-Aziz was sitting there, at less-than-attention, "Rashid, what do I wish to show them?" asked Umar, "Well, you intend to accompany them with a strong force, stronger than the one that took al-Walidiyah, to show them the correctness of siding with your majesty, you also intend to make a show of force, leaving yourself possibly vulnerable, but nonetheless, if you are victorious in such a magnificient fashion as in the Siege of al-Walidiyah, then people will be afraid, and if they are afraid, they will be less willing to fight." answered Rashid in a calm-manor, "Correct." replied Umar.

"So then, we will send the first 10 Divisions of our army, (now expanded to 30 Divisions, in the same numerical code system as the first 10. The last 20 are volunteers, of a weak level of training and skill, the first 10 are highly trained and equipped) the main force will be the Jaysh Daud Militia, led by Ezra Ali Kemal, the same as last time. We will also be accompanied by the Casualty Division." "You mean the Druze that volunteered?" asked one of Umar's men, "Yes, I do, officially, they are the First Druze-Arab Division, unofficially, they are casualties." replied Umar with a laugh. "Now, send a message to the Christian Democrat Party" Umar continued.

Message to the Christian Democrat Party:
"Brother Umar al-Kadif, we are honored to have your friendship in Battle. We have heard you are moving to assault the Salah ah-Din Unity Brigade, which is good, as we were planning a similar move. We are sending a force to cement our alliance in battle against the Kurdish forces. Our forces consist of 10 relatively skilled Divisions from the Saiqa brigade, to be commanded by our General Rashid al-Aziz, together they make up about 20,000 men, plus large amounts of artillery, tanks and with air support. In addition, we are sending the Jaysh Daud, under Ezra Ali Kemal, you might have heard of their exploits in the Siege of Walidiyah, they also number about 20,000 men, and have the use of the "Cataphract" series tank-line, one of the newest and most well-designed in the world. Finally, we are sending the 1st Druze-Arab Brigade, consisting of about 10,000 men. Our 50,000 are moving to link-up with you and take the city alongside your own force. When you see the Arab flag, send a message to our force, and we will plan our battle tactics."
Your Brother, Umar al-Sayid

Finally, Umar sent a message to al-Qarakayah (Karuchea),
"Dear Brothers,
We thank you for the M-88 Cataphract tanks, they will be quite a display of force. We also tank you for the incoming aircraft and tanks, you are spending quite a lot to aid us, and we will not let you down."
Your Comrade, Umar al-Sayid

"Ezra Ali Kemal, I must congratulate you on your victory, if you are ready to return to the battles, I have another task for you." said Umar, "Of course, sire, battle is what I live for." responded Ezra, "Then, all of you know of our alliance with our Arab Brothers, the Christian Democrat Party; they are making an advance on the Kurdish front known as the Salah ah-Din Unity Brigade. ooc: I'm taking a few liberties with Ahlul Bayt, if that's okay. If you have serious beef with it, just tell me.

IC: AHLUL BAYT, PRACHANDA

Sweat dripped down the middle-aged Arab man's head. Clad in nothing but his underwear, he had been tied to an old office chair, which was sitting in an abandoned warehouse near the docks. Once a somewhat busy port, the city had been shut down because of the war. Ahlul Bayt was somewhat poor, and, while there were more Shi'as in the city than anything else, it was very diverse. That's perhaps why the Socialist Unity Party had such an easy time seizing power there.

At all times, three Socialist Unity Party militants, armed with the new AK-103s from whatever Communist country might have been arming them, sat and watched, while they listened to the rap CDs on their old boombox. Both, he assumed, had also been procured for them by the Communists. Twice a day, they took off his duct-tape gag and fed him, but that was all the interaction that he had ever had with his captors.

Until today.

"Is this the PIRP guy?" a female voice questioned.

"Yes, Comrade al-Badr," one of the guards, whom the man called "Amin," whether it was his name or not.

"Alright. You can go, Comrade Amin," the female said.

He had called that one. But who was this lady that was relieving him? He was pretty sure that he had heard the name "al-Badr" before.

A woman, with darker-than-average skin, frizzy brown hair that was currently up in an afro, and mismatched brown and blue eyes, approached. She was clad in a stained white tanktop and Makaveli Branded jeans, and a Walther P5 was in her hand. She shoved it into a pocket and reached for the man.

"Hello. Wali, is it?" she said, yanking his gag off.

"Ouch!" Wali shouted. That had hurt, and pulled a significant portion of his dwindling beard off.

"Wow, Wali. You're a bit of a girl, aren't you?" the woman said, "Do you know me?"

"Your name is 'al-Badr,'" Wali said.

"Good! Lamya bint Abdul Shakur al-Badr, if you'd like to be thorough," al-Badr said, "You know, I run the Socialist Unity Party. Did you know that?"

Wali shook his head. So this was the woman behind this group. It was only fitting that somebody who looked like her would run this Communist organization.

"See, I know you, Wali Zulfiqar," al-Badr, continued, "You're high up there in the PIRP, aren't you?"

"Yes, I am," Wali said.

"Well, then you know some things that I need to," al-Badr said, moving closer, "Like...when the next convoy to Tahiriyah is going out."

Tahiriyah was a medium-sized city controlled by the PIRP. It was dangerously close to Ahlul Bayt, and was a major strategic possession. The SUP had been continuously sieging it for months now, but, thanks to regular supplies from Husayniyah, it had held out. No way could they lose it now.

"I'm not telling you a thing, 'abd!" The racial slur was accompanied by an attempted spit in al-Badr's eye. She expertly dodged, whipped out her P5, and pistol-whipped Wali on the face. He cried out in pain as his office chair clattered to the ground.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw al-Badr remove a short, heavy blade resembling a machete from a sheath on her leg. She twirled the blade through the air a couple of times.

"This is a golok," she said, "In Indonesia and Malaysia, they use it like a machete, to cut branches out of the way."

"I'm not a mean person, comrade. I'm no sadist, I don't enjoy this at all," she said, sitting the chair back up, "But, see, intolerant extremists like you are branches. And, you're in the way. You're in my way, and you're in this nation's way. You know what I do to branches in my way, right?"

She moved the golok towards Wali's crotch and cut away his underwear.

"So, comrade," she said, "Are you in my way, or are you not?"

The scream could be heard throughout the warehouse.

al-Badr emerged from the warehouse's garage door, a rag in her hand. She ran it down the blade and put it back in its sheath.

"Always doing it the hard way, aren't they?" she said to nobody in particular.

"Lamya!"

al-Badr turned around. Behind her she saw Malik al-Katib, the SUP's "spokesman" of sorts, coming.

"Did you need something, Malik?" she asked.

"Yes...I finished that letter you wanted me to write," he said.

Lamya took the letter from his hands and looked it over, "This is good. Send it."

TO: The Communist Worker's Party of the Kurdish Nation

Comrades,

You may not trust us, we being Arab, you being Kurdish. You have good reason. However, we were born in the same country, and we now fight the same struggle to liberate ourselves from the hands of religious fundamentalists, far-right nationalists, and fascists.

It is for this reason that we, the Socialist Unity Party, extend our hands in solidarity to the Communist Worker's Party of the Kurdish Nation. Far too many groups fight in this war already. If we are to free our nation from the chains of capitalism, we must do it hand in hand.

Please consider our proposal. Perhaps, when this is all over, we may talk about the status of your people and your land.

We accept your offer of solidarity and hope in doing so we can make a better future for our people. As such we will began trade among other things so we can strengthen our ties, both ecnomically and culturally.

Signed,

The Kurdish people of the Communist Worker's Party

With the last word typed the letter was sealed and given to a messenger who then left to send it to the Arab Socialists. Said messenger left on horseback to the military outpost a mile from the city of Al-Basrutah where he then switched for animal to machine.

"I hope you are right comrade Marcos" Ahmed Barazi told the Deuremense man who stood behind him. Barazi was the person his Kurdish people looked to and as such his decisions had a great affect in the city of Al-Basrutah.

"Don't worry I assure you that your freedom will not be infringed. You may hate the Arabs for what they have done but in the end its better to have one ally then none." Jose Marcos agent of the Deurem Intelligence Service (DIS) told his Kurdish comrade. "Now on to more important business comrade. My nation has begun to send in shipments of our locally produced surplus Ak-74M's and RPG-29's to replace your old Ak-47's and RPG-7's. We have also began to bring in medical supplies, clothing and many needed things for the people. That will certainly bring morale up. One last note to take is we are bring 8 MiG-21's to supplement the 3 MiG-27's that you currently have.

"Only one of our planes can fly...", Ahmed replied as he turned his head to see the brown skin, black hair and dark blue eyes typically of the Deurem people.

"Don't worry we are bringing in parts by air. Having a major airbase in the city of Al-Basrutah might have not been such a good idea for the former government but now that you control this area it makes it easier for you to bring in supplies from my nation. Leave all the supplies and anything else to me and my men. You just think about the people", with that Marcos left the lowly three room buildings that was the operations base for the CWPKN.

Summary:
1. The Deurem government has already established good relations with the CWPKN.
2. As such they have begun to bring in supplies by air through the Al-Basrutah airbase.
3. DIS agent has persuaded Ahmed Barazi leader for the Kurdish Communists to ally with the Socialist Unity Party for now...

Umar sat in his chair at the conference table, somewhat worried, his Generals could see the hate in his eyes as he read the news. "So...the Shi'i have sold their souls..." he finally said. He never took kindly to bad news, and a stronger Kurdish force was certainly bad news. "Sir, it will be alright, I'm sure they will just try to consolidate, they will just live in peace." said a young messenger, at that remark Umar turned, with a fiery look on his face, stared straight at the messenger and said "Peace?! You think they want peace?" "Y...yes sir" the messenger responded. Umar pulled out a Nagant Revolver and shot the messenger in the heart, "How is that for your peace?" he asked as the messenger died. "Now, if all traitors were to die that easily!" he exclaimed. "Don't fear! I will take the armies and march on them, and I will crush them! There will be no more Kurds and the Shi'i will be liberated from their traitors!" was the bold claim from Ezra Ali Kemal. Umar took a deep breath, "You're right, we need to destroy them now, before they get too strong...send out the messages."

To the Christian Democrat Party,
"Brothers, it may have come to your attention that there is now an alliance between the Socialist Unity Party and the Kurdish Communists. As Christians and Arabs, we can jointly despise two goals these people desire: The liquidation of Prachanda by the seperatists and the Atheistic nature of Communism. This is the gravest threat we have faced in the last 20 years, the original plan was for both of us to march on the Salah ah-Din Unity Brigade, but they are less of a threat, the Communist alliance must be broken before it can consolidate. Please respond and let us march with our great alliance against our foes."
Your Arab Brother, Umar al-Sayid.

To the Green Shirt Squadron,
"Brothers, You are Fascists, and a key tenet of Fascism is Nationalism, so surely, you, like us, recognize the Arab character of our country. Also, your base is also Christian, that gives us much in common. Then, you know this alliance of the SUP and the Communists threatens the very foundation of Prachanda, for if the Communists win, we will be forced under Marxist tyranny and atheism and the country will be liquidated. Do not allow your Fatherland to fall to the ground today, old Comrades, join our alliance and let us march against those who would turn on our great country, Fatherland or Death!"
Your Arab Brother, Umar al-Sayid

To Ali Benin Salif,
"Brother, I fear our times of horror, our nightmares have returned. You no doubt know the situation. Please, form an alliance with us, let us march on our common foes, the Kurdish seperatists led by the Communist's new alliance. We fought together against the Kurds once, let us do so again. I am currently moving the 12 Infantry Division myself to meet with you in the capital, fear not, if this was an offensive, I would need more than one division, it is just for protection in-case our choppers are shot down. I will speak with you personally, and maybe then we can light the flames of justice again."
Your Arab Brother, Umar al-Sayid

To the Kingdom of Otares,
"Foreign Kingdom, you have said you wish to aid Prachanda, now is your chance to prove your words, I will be in the capital of Prachanda tomorrow, so we will have a chance to discuss more, but for now, I wish to request your aid in a Campaign against the Communist's new alliance. As you know, I have a different view of the country of Prachanda than some, we all do, that is the only reason there are so many factions. But despite disagreements, we both want the Pracha people to live in a single country, these Communists would dissolve the country's unity and this cannot be allowed to happen. We hope for your response."
Commander of the Arab Force, Umar al-Sayid

To the Pracha Islamic Brotherhood,
"Arab Brothers, we have yet to truly discuss anything about our own causes, but in this situation, that is a second priority, by far. We request your aid for a campaign against the new alliance between the Communist's and the Socialist Unity Party. Surely, instilled with a strong belief in the Almighty, you do not wish our country to fall under Atheistic tyranny, and surely as a Pracha party, you do not wish for the Kurds to split our country into two. We share these dislikes, if little more, and it is because of this threat that we must stand united today. Please respond, as surely as I am your Arab Brother, begging during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Let Eid be greeted with victory over those who would destroy our country and our faiths."
Your Brother, Umar al-Sayid

To our Brothers in al-Qarakayah,
"Thank you for the information about the Communists, it was most useful, we are now moving to crush the alliance. We request more supplies for our upcoming campaign. We also wish to thank you on the increased numbers of the Jaysh Daud, their size has doubled thanks to the many volunteers from al-Qarakayah and the Federation of Arab States. We wish to hear back in-positive."
Your Brother, Umar al-Sayid

Umar simply waited for the responses to come in, the very life of the country was at stake, like he had always feared.

OOC: Yeah, the impression that I got was that you were the Salah ah-Din Unity Brigade. If you are, you could just surrender as this new campaign marches past your city, that would make things a lot more simple and nice and I'm sure no one would mind...>_>

Lamya al-Badr put on a set of safety glasses and stuffed an earplug into both of her ears. Picking up her Walther P5 from a card table, she slammed a magazine into the grip and pointed it at a target posted on a wall (really, a poster of Britney Spears). She had originally found the gun in a shipping container. It was supposed to have been sent to some gun-collecting freak in some little village near Ahlul Bayt, but what the hell. He didn't need it.

She pulled back the hammer and fired three shots at the target. They all slammed into the bullseye (really, where Britney's nipples would be).

"Haven't lost your touch, Lamya," she said to herself. Unlike most of the other rebel leaders, al-Badr was young, in her mid-thirties. She had never been elected to the Senate, and she had never been an officer in the military.

She had, however, fought in the Great Kurdish War. al-Badr was a Sunni born in Singapore of African, Arab, and Tamil descent, and her father, Abdul Shakur al-Badr, had decided to return to Prachanda in 1986, a year before the war started. After her father was killed by a stray round (Lamya didn't know who had fired it, and didn't care) during the war, some prick of a PNA general had Lamya, along with some other children and teenagers, kidnapped from their homes and trained as child soldiers. Lamya had been the most skilled of them all, by far, and was nicknamed "bint Shaitan," or "daughter of Satan," by the adult soldiers. And, while few other than the commanding officers of the PNA knew the name "Lamya al-Badr," most veterans of the Great Kurdish War knew the name "bint Shaitan," and the fearsome reputation it carried with it.

"Comrade al-Badr?"

Lamya turned. Aliyah, a secretary/messenger girl working at "The Warehouse," which had slowly evolved into a major SUP HQ, was standing behind her.

"Na'am, ya habibiyah?" she said, pulling out an earplug. Almost immediately, she began to habitually roll it between her fingers.

"Comrade al-Fathi wants to see you," she said, in her quiet, almost too quiet to hear voice.

"Alright," she said, taking off the glasses and tucking the P5 into the back of her jeans, "Tell him I'll be there."

Yasir al-Fathi was pacing back and forth across the floor of the "situation room" in the warehouse.

"Why did we have to throw in with the CWPKN?" he shouted at al-Badr as soon as she came into sight.

"Ummm...because we don't need more enemies?" al-Badr said.

"We've made more enemies allying with the Kurds than we ever could have on our own," al-Fathi replied, "We've received word that the Thunderbolt Command Center and the Christian Democrat Party are going all-out on us and the CWPKN."

"How all-out?" Lamya asked.

"Walidiyah all-out," al-Fathi replied, "Comrade al-Badr, they're going to tear us to pieces."

al-Badr sat down on the floor and put a finger to her lips. It was her "thinking pose." She sat in said thinking pose for a while.

"They won't tear us to pieces unless we let them," she finally said, "We're not going to let them."

"These soldiers are marching through the desert from the Christian and Druze areas," she said, standing up and walking over to their map of the country, "They're motorized, if I'm not mistaken, so I want roadblocks and anti-vehicle mines wherever possible. If there are any bridges that they need to cross between wherever they're coming from and Ahlul Bayt, I want them blown up. It's a dirty business, but it's got to be done. We need to launch hit-and-run attacks on them, during the day, but definitely at night. And, if possible, we need to take out any water they might have with them. Got all that?"

She let out a long-held breath after that.

"Yes, I did," al-Fathi said, "Anything else, Your Majesty?"

"Yeah. A falafel from down the street," al-Badr said. She began to walk back towards her makeshift shooting range. She paused and turned her head to look at al-Fathi.

"I'm serious, ya habibi," she said, before continuing on her way.

SIC:

DIS agent Jose Marcos looked outside from the second story of the apartment building that overlooked the Al-Basrutah airbase. His eyes scanned the three Antonov An-22's that were being emptied of their valuable cargo. The Deurem markings on said planes secured their protection from any of the rival parties in Pracha unless they dared tried to shoot those aircraft down. Doing so would bring the full wraith of the Socialist Republic of Deurem on the poor souls who did so. The infamous Oil Brigade was on its way by sea to train the Kurdish communists but were also ready to fight at any moment if needed.

IC:
Eariler that day as the first of many cargo planes began to drop its cargo the nation of Deurem had stated that it was sending aid to the nation of Pracha and more specifically the Kurdish people. The press only saw medical supplies and food being loaded into the planes. Underneath the shroud of aid was hidden various crates of ammuniton and weapons.

Meanwhile Ahmed Barazi and his officers were busy trying to form strategies that would hinder the enemy's war machine from rolling over them. Trenches would have to be dug, mines put under the hot sand and fortifications strengthed to endure a long campaign. Their small number of aircraft would only do so much. But thankfully the foriegners were ready to lease them a Tupolev Tu-95.

"They have most of the Arabs with them. No way would our land forces possibily be able to defeat them", said a Kurdish colonel as he looked at the intel pictures given to them by Marcos.

"Then we must cut the head." he replied swiftly. "Prepare our aircraft for sorties and ask comrade Marcos for his bomber."

"Yes." with that the colonel left the underground bunker hidden beneath the hospital and left to where the Deuremense men stayed.

While the military worked on a way to protect their Kurdish people above a group of 20 Deurem doctors were busily working under conditions that none had imagined to even exsist. The basic necessities of a modern hospital were nowhere to be found. As such the doctors had a hell of a time with the 500 men, women and children that had swarmed the hospital when news came out that the foriegners were giving out medicine.

OOC: My computer logged me out mid RP, and I am annoyed and lazy, here is the basic summary:

1: 100,000 troops marching to meet up with the CDP forces, offer still open to Government, GSS and PIB to join.
First Target: Salah ah-Din Unity Brigade
Second Target: Communist Workers Party of the Kurdish Nation
Third Target: Socialist Unity Party
2: Justification, SUB will likely surrender and re-supply the force. Communists are closer than the SUP at that point, and the SUP will have trouble aiding the Communists now that they have cut themselves off. SUP will be last, with a focus on propaganda to make the Arabs in the SUP defect.
3: Introduction of new character, Fatima al-Husayn, an aide to Rashid al-Aziz.
4: Ezra Ali Kemal in command of the Allied Forces.

SIC:
"A hundred thousand troops..."
"Indeed. this could be a threat."
"We may have to start getting more involved. Call up GUY. We're taking this to the next level. Is the asset ready?"
"Sure. They're ready for their mission. Equipment have been purchased from arms peddlers."
"Poor Bastards."

IC:
50 thousand militiamen awated at the rendevus(SP) point. Carrying bettet equipment than they used to,they were eager to fight. Somewhat behind, the OPSF soldiers, tanned and thought conversational Arabic, awaited orders with military precision. Tanks were scatted throughout the militiamen, and neatly organized into squads on the army's side. Vehicles were avalable, but they were civilian trucks, and low in number, so they were crowded. Being in a crowded area in an attack was dangerous. So,the trukcks were left for the militiamen, and the army would take the small number of BIONIX AFVs, as well as ride on the tanks. Word among the brass was that some help would be coming from the OPDF if things got out of hand. What sort of help, they didn't know. But help was good.

A large irregular shape could be seen approaching from the horizion. The allies had arrived. The TCC army was somewhat better equipped, having more vehicles, heavy tanks and some air cover. A runner ran to the comand tent to summon the field marshal of the militia.

Abdul-Ah-Dev stepped out into the glaring light, squinting to try to make out the forces. They were the allies all right. He then turned to the OPDF forces,he was not informed that they were real government troops, obly mercanaries(SP). Damned good ones, too. He thought.
He hoisted his M4 and went out to meet the leader of he fast-approaching force.

Ezra Ali Kemal went out to greet the Allies from the CDP. He smiled as he saw the Allied soldiers, he glanced at the militia-men and thought to himself "They lack a degree of civility and are certainly crude, perfect candidates for war." Ezra was a first-generation Pracha, descended from a Pracha mother and a Pashtun father who had emigrated during a war in the old country. Ezra had grown up around war, it was nothing new to him, just life. He had first commanded a small force during the Great Wars, commanding a mercenary force known as "Outer Heaven". He was hired by Umar al-Sayid, who was serving under Ali Benin Salif at the time, he and Umar got along well and they had fought together on several battlefields. Ezra's parents had died during a Kurdish assault on Siyaal, and Umar had shared the experiance, with his wife and parents dying aswell. Ezra was a battlefield master and would probably have been one of the greatest of all-time, if not for his arrogance.

Ezra Ali Kemal saw the Commander of the Allies who was moving to greet him, he ordered his force to halt their march, He began walking the rest of the way himself. He yelled "Peace be upon you, Comrade." and continued walking, as he reached the Ally commander he reached out his hand, "Ezra Ali Kemal, Commander of the Thunderbolt Divisions and the Army of David.", introducing himself.

ooc: If it's okay, Karuchea, I'm just going to start RPing as if you're already starting your little propaganda campaign on the people in my areas. If you wanted to start it later, just say so.

IC: AL-MADINAH AL-HURIYAH WAL-WAHDA, AHLUL BAYT, PRACHANDA

The City of Freedom and Unity, once called Yahya al-Ghassani City, after a fundamentalist Shi'a Ayatollah, was Ahlul Bayt's largest slum, largely populated by the city's Sunni population. Under control of the section of the Shi'a Salvation Bloc that is now the Pracha Islamic Republican Movement, the once-nameless slum had been named after al-Ghassani, much to the population's chagrin. One of the first things the Socialist Unity Party had done when it took over Ahlul Bayt was rename the area. One of the first things they did after that was start an unofficial social welfare program for the people living there. While some saw it as a move to gain more recruits, food and other basic supplies were given out to everyone, regardless of whether they would be any use in the war or not.

Hawah as-Saghir certainly wouldn't have been. The twenty-two year old mother of three had been widowed during the earlier stages of the war. If she could've fought for al-Badr, she would've, but she had her children at home. Yet, she could get enough food for her children off the slips of paper the SUP distributed, which was being supplied with aid supplies through the Tejano Red Star. She had even found an SUP boyfriend, Dirar, who could get the food delivered to her shack in Huriyah wal-Wahda.

"Here, rafiqa!" one of Dirar's friends, Ahmad, shouted, throwing the package of food to her from an armored van, "Nobody goes hungry on our watch!"

Hawah caught the package. She looked through it...yep, Dirar had gotten everything. Even if he didn't, she wouldn't have complained, as he had waited in line for her.

Almost as soon as she looked up from the bag, a man...no, a kid, he looked eighteen at most, grabbed the food from her hands. He then threw it on the ground and jumped on it.

"What the fuck?!" she shouted, grabbing him. He was stronger than he looked, and wiggled free. He then slapped her.

"How dare you take food from the traitors!" he said, "That black slut al-Badr has aligned herself with the Kurds, did you not know that? It is better for you and your children to go hungry than to sell yourself to the Communists!"

With that, he threw a bunch of Thunderbolt Command Center pamphlets on the ground. He raised an arm in the Roman salute.

"Arab power!" he shouted. He then proceeded to run off.

However, he was stopped by a crowd of young men, all probably in their twenties or early thirties. Most were unarmed, but one had a baseball bat in his hand.

"What was that, you little fucking racist brat?!" one of them said. They grabbed him and proceeded to beat him senseless. After a final kick in the head, one approached her. He cleaned the dirt off of her food as well as he could and put it back in its bag, then handed it to her.

"Sorry I can't fix your food, miss," he said, "Stay safe, and watch out for these enemies of peace and unity."

This was about how effective the propaganda campaign on the SUP-controlled areas; not very. It was somewhat more effective in the rural areas, but the SUP was a very urban-based organization as it was. Most of Ahlul Bayt's citizens had learned long ago to tolerate other people, including Kurds, of whom there was a small population of in the city. Some Christians in the city, such as Reverend Bulus al-Haddad, an eighty-nine year old Christian minister who was known as being a fundamentalist and Arab supremacist. Few took him seriously, but the few who did were intensely loyal to him. His church was active in distributing the propaganda. Arab nationalists in the city, such as Shi'a journalist Muhsin Mansur, had also taken to the propaganda. However, there was no large defections from the SUP, and, the number of people living under their hand who took up arms with other causes was fairly small, although not insignificant.

Those who tried to fight the SUP could expect to be attacked by another force that was somewhat separate from the SUP's armed wing. A force called al-Ansar al-Mutahid ash-Shabi (the United Protectors of the People). The Amshabiyun, as they were called, had been formed by SUP members for grassroots support of their ideas of racial equality and to protect the people from racially or religiously-motivated. The Amshabiyun were poorly armed and usually only used force if confronted with it, but there were most definitely exceptions. As a result, anyone attempting to propagate the ideologies of groups such as the TCC, the GSS, the PIRP, the SRB, or the like, were sometimes violently suppressed by the Amshabiyun, even while the SUP themselves didn't do much to stop the dissenters, as they declared themselves defenders of free speech. Many, including Reverend al-Haddad, had accused al-Badr of using the Amshabiyun to squash opposition, but there was no proof that the SUP higher-ups were telling the Amshabiyun to do such things.

Meanwhile, the SUP had begun to extend its operations into CWPKN-controlled areas of Prachandan Kurdistan, sending both some 10,000 SUP militants and recruiters. It mainly recruited Arabs living in Kurdish areas, who perhaps feared for their safety, but also recruited some Kurds.

Tejano supplies continued to pour into Prachanda, through Tejano shipping that was supposedly with the Tejano Red Star, but carried weapons and vehicles along with the aid supplies. Tejano planes also began trips to al-Basrutah, to supply the SUP's new Communist allies. Despite the fact that the SUP-CWPKN looked very outnumbered and outgunned, they would win this yet.

SIC: al-Badr was in fact purposefully using the Amshabiyun to suppress opposition, without the knowledge of others, including the people accusing her of doing it. The Amshabiyun's leader, Fayiz Fahim, had fought alongside her during the Great Kurdish War. While the Amshabiyun were not completely in the SUP's pocket, they did follow the orders al-Badr gave them to harass and attack sources of enemy propaganda.

The Communist Workers Party of the Kurdish Nation was itself just a political faction that held control over a large part of the Kurdish controlled region of Pracha. Its might came from the Communist Workers armed forces that was now known as the Workers Peshmerga (WP) which consisted of; the Kurdish People's Army (KPA) and the Kurdish People's Air Corps (KPAC). With these two branches of the WP's armed forces the CWPKN was able to to protect the Kurdish people from the other malevolent parties that were around.

But even with a military the CWPKN wouldn't keep up a resistance with the other factions in a long war. This is where the Socialist Republic of Deurem got involved. With the help of foreigners the Kurds were able to update their weaponry and become on par with the others. Though lacking in manpower they hoped their armaments would make the disadvantage minimal or at least keep them from becoming totally annihilated.

(((OOC:
I will post the weapons used by my people once I finish the list I've been making.))
