As the rebellion had launched am offensive to the Grand Imperial Palace of the Scandinvan Emperors, which was in all conditions a viable fortress able to survive a large scale bombardment, The rebels forces of Norse First had for weeks assaulted the lines surrounding the Imperial palace with all they had and at the same time sent wave after wave of militia and conscripts to tie down the vast legions of the Empire which were essentially human sacrifices as the regular forces of the rebellion prepared to deal the only blow which could end the war, the death of the Emperor and the whole of the Imperial family.
For this two million regulars and four million drilled militiamen had launched a full scale attack on their enemy with all the tanks and artillery that could muster. Thus the force they gathered a force of great size that could either win the war or end the rebellion entirely. With their force they launched a massive attack on one hundred thousand men, twenty legions, that held the line. As they though they were able to overcome the forces of the Empire in about only one day of fighting.
As they fought through the forces of the Empire they approached the Imperial Legions began marching at full speed to the aide of the Emperor Olaf IV as the call spread the citizens of the Empire formed regiments of militia which set up positions around the palace in order to defend the Imperial family with whatever forces they could muster. At the same time the rebels had surrounded the palace and began the pain staking plan to only simply to kill the Imperial family and not destroy the actual process.
As the forces of the rebellion approached though the Imperial legion formed ranks in their traditional plate mail and the banners of the Empire were raised. Though this time around they would either march to their dooms or they would save the Empire...
