The Intergalactic Defense Federation is an inter-stellar political entity founded by the union of four previously independent Alpha Quadrant powers. It was formed during the Jerusalem Conference in the year 2161 when the Israelites, Vulcans, Andorians, and Tellarites signed a treaty to join as a single entity.
The Israelites are of the human race. They live in the Jerusalem system of the Alpha Quadrant. They aren’t native to the system and were transplanted from the Sol system by an unknown alien entity 2500 years previously. They have kept their Jewish culture and religion alive through several millennia.
The Vulcans are a humanoid species native to the Vulcan system. Their green blood has a copper base. They often live over two-hundred years and have a strict adherence to logic. They have found how to live without emotions dictating their actions. This has been achieved through following Surak’s teachings.
The Andorians are a humanoid species that sport a pair of antennas, which give them a sense of balance. They are native to the Andor system and are accustomed to colder temperatures. Andor itself is an ice world. They have had a warrior past but wish to be more peaceful.
The Tellarites hail from Tellar and are a humanoid species. Their diplomatic communications are carried out in a wave of insults. While other cultures may not like this approach, it has proved to be effectice for the Tellarites.
