A light drizzle covered the ruins of the Emerald Palace as workers hauled away precious materials to help pay for the recent war. Nearby the Parthenon was surrounded with olive trees, various dieties being worshipped there. A woman scurried forward under an umbrella to the Parthenon, coming from the direction of the Palace of Athens. Stepping inside, she smiled and shed her rain coat and umbrella.
She walked through the Hall of Olympia, her head bowed, until she reached a door to the left which led to a smaller worship hall, where theological students trained. An archbishop stood near a crucifix of petrified wood, a cracked sign with barely ledgible letters above it. Greeting each other, they started walking, deep in hushed conversation. Eventually Erika Redmark walked out, the Church's favor won for a very interesting deal.
Sinai Peninsula
Roughly five minutes away from the shores of the Sinai Peninsula, a message was sent out to the government controlling the Holy Lands, Sinai, Byzantium, Israel, and other religious locations. The Shintoan Tyrants that ruled over such sacred lands and defiled Abrahamic holy sites would be destroyed. Soon marines landed on the desert lands, marching outwards on all lands to conquer. Pro Deus et Imperium, For God and Empire.
Athens, Great Vantania
The Archbishop stepped onto the balcony, the sun at his back and the hordes of Christians at his below him. He smiled, looking like the kind old man you could always depend on, before saying, "Friends, Brothers in Christianity, the Democratic Empire has made a bold move against indels and dictatorships everywhere. The radical Shinto government of Shintoa, which holds a monopoly over the Holy Lands of Abraham's People, is being invaded. It is a great day, and I call for a Crusade against the foe. I am mobilizing the Army of God* to move into Shintoa at once, and request the Knights Templar** to seize Byzantium, the Shintoan capital, for Christianity immediantly. The infidels shall perish."
*Bunch of reserves, made up of vetrans (Knights of Saint Paul) and people with basic training (Crusaders). There are also other ranks in between, such as those with military training that haven't fought (Cardinals)
**A Vantanian private army that patrols the route from Israel to Europe and keeps banditry and what not down in return for letting Christians through. Which is why they're allowed to operate.
