Firehelper has long said that it has had nuclear weapons. However, tests and demonstrations have been carried out. Until now the firehelper nuclear arsenal designs have been purely technological based on well proven designs. Now however, it is revealed to the world that the Empire of Firehelper possesses this great deterrent and weapon that assures MAD (mutually assured destruction) to the highest probability.
Today at 1625 hours the Empire of Firehelper has conducted its first test of a nuclear weapon. This is one of the thousands of nuclear devices of varying yields used by the firehelper government. At the island labeled Weapon testing facility island A146 a 515 kt nuclear warhead (standard firehelper MIRV) was detonated at 1,500 ft above sea level. The successful detonation of this warhead should be evidenced by seismic reports.

The Firehelper Deterrent can now never be doubted.

To the Firehelper Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

While we congratulate Firehelper on its successful weapons test, we condemn its use of atmospheric blasts to do so. Atmospheric blasts can quickly prove a problem to distant persons or wildlife. We suggest that the nation of Firehelper designate an area for use as an underground testing site for all further nuclear tests.

Message to Caelapes:
We are aware of your concerns however the aboveground nuclear test was not only a demonstration of our nuclear power but also the first actual test of a detonation against a test target. This will be used to determine the damage of our attacks. However, all further tests will be underground to reduce the fallout of a test.
