Taxs Drop After Reaching All Time High

In September last year the Secretary of Finance Christian Bjørnson, who also is the Prime Minister of Grasaland, announced that taxes are set to drop by over 30%. In a landmark speech to the Parliament, he stated that the tax situation which peeked at 94% over the summer, was unacceptable.

Four months on the tax rate dropped has dropped by 38%, The Government followed through with their announcement. Large scale cuts in the Military, Public Transport, Health & Education as well as in local goverments lead to the massive tax cuts.

The taxes hit the all time high because of heavy storms and high snowfall which crippled the country. The tax rate has also lead to major protests in the Capital Norglich and the Second City Kristiansund.

Though the decision has been met by oppostion from the opposing Socialist Party, who now say that the Grasalandik Conservative Party who formed a Government after winning the 2007 election, has caused the economy to collapse and will never fully recover.
