Perimeter Defense

Primary Research Services Administration's Metaphysical Laboratories (Metalabs) division has, for the first time in eighteen months, released a new set of magical abilities for Magustrate-class (Imperial Magus designation: Class IIIa) users of conceptual-level magic, under ISO-M042 standard.
Each ability is stored in an enclosure (in the design of a tome, for classical posterity) that is enchanted/charmed (ambiguous terminology) with a selective psychological imprint of a caster of the spell. The information contained within the enchantment/charm can easily be embedded onto a client through a simple deconstructionist analysis spell, encoded using the ISO-M522 specification for mental absorption, and unlocked with a Runic code as an md5 hash that is included inside the tome. The spell will be immediately available for use after the embedding procedure is complete. Each tome may only be used once; post-analysis, an internal enchantment will self-destruct the energies used to encode the psychological imprint.
Energy requirements are in the form of SMP's or Standardized Magic Points, or through traditional energy channels. The ISO-M042 standard is popular among today's battlemages because of the high energy density of repeating firearms and explosives. One may attach a Remote Thermobaric Release spell to a grenade, for example, or to a sniper bullet, or even, to a lesser degree, a chain of projectiles for a repeating support weapon. (each projectile would need to be charmed though)
The following spells are now available.
Remote Thermobaric Release
Requirements: 406 Standardized MP OR 3 kilojoules (rifle) as catalyst + 312 SMP (downscale to 40 MP for repeater)
Effect: Micro fuel-air bomb without the poisonous properties of most liquid fuels used in such bombs. Explosive effect is constant at 2 kilograms of TNT, but pressure wave is dependent on concentration and stamina of caster. Pressure wave strength unaffected by initial explosion; corollary shockwave from explosion occurs, THEN pressure wave generated by spell.
40 MP downscaled cost results in no initial explosion, and limitations on shockwave strength.
Cost: $14,000 per tome
Local Casimir Probability Dislocation
Requirements: 151,000 SMP or 2 megaton explosion +90,000 SMP
Effect: Antimatter explosion at target. Equivalent to 14 megatons of TNT. Usable only by high-level mages.
Cost: $23,000,000 per tome
Summon Plasma Weapon
Requirements: Variable, dependent on power requirements of weapon. 1,300-12,000 SMP.
Effect: Summons a specific plasma weapon. Assault-type or support, sidearm or vehicle-mounted. Powerful mages may supply fighter aircraft and bombers with plasma turrets.
Cost: $19,000 per tome
Accelerated B-80 Fragmentation
Requirements: ONLY POSSIBLE COMBINATION: 900 SMP + standard HE grenade (not fragmentation)
Effect: On detonation of supplied hand grenade, fragments turn into well-shaped boron fullerene shrapnel that travel at 9,000 kph. Fewer fragments are released than in a traditional fragmentation grenade explosion, but the effect is armor-piercing and if used over an armored vehicle, occupants may be injured.
Cost: $8,000 per tome (for standard military use)
