Flag: Usually remarked that it resembles the old German Imperial Tri-color Flag, these colors were not influenced by Germany. The black comes from the ancient native belief in the night gods of protection, which out of respect, the Confederacy added this to the flag. The white of course, means peace while the red represents all the blood spilt for the nation and the power of love. Old versions (1825-1889) presented a black diamond in the middle, but this was discontinuied after the questionable influence for its symbolism.
