Day 2, 7:00 am, Neo Savannah

In Neo Savannah that day, there was a different flag raised, it wasn’t the Akimoandite or Confederate States’ flag, nor was it the State of Hector’s flag, though the State of Hector’s flag flew below this one on some flag poles, nonetheless, the top flag was very different on this day. Many people knew what this was the flag of, many didn’t, by the end of today, the world would. It was the ensign of the Echoese Federation, and today was to begin the 4th Revolution, or the 1st Civil War, history was to determine which.

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa293/The_Far_Echo_Islands/Other/eff1.png

And there was but one, universal choice of whom to lead this new nation: Delpin Hyit.

And now the President of the Echoese Federation presided over the much cleaned up ‘ground zero’ in Neo Savannah, it was being reconstructed, and the progress from a few years ago was highly evident.

Delpin read the following document:

http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa293/The_Far_Echo_Islands/Important%20Seals/echoesefeds1.png

Declaration of Independence

Preamble
We the people of the Echoese Federation, acting as a sovereign union of many sovereign federated states, in order to relive ourselves of oppression, and ineffective government, and injustice, do hereby form this sovereign nation, free from any other, and independent in its existence.

Section I
We the people have come together to recognize the problems of the Akimondite occupation, and to lament the ineffectiveness of our own government, and to from a new nation, independent, sovereign, with independence and a government worthy of ruling the great people of this land.

Section II
We have found that the Akimonandites have failed at treating us with much respect, and letting us live our daily lives without interference. We cannot do anything without seeing the Akimonad ensign, we are a sovereign people, we do not need a far off government telling us what to do without caring what repercussions it has here.

Similarly, our own government has been struck extremely ineffective, so it has come time to replace it, with a new government. We will establish the Federation here, in Neo Savannah, and we ask that we be given our freedom by the Akimonadite and Confederate States forces, and that they treat this nation with equal respect as they would any other, we whish not for war, but we are not afraid of it.

Section III
Henceforth, we are the Echoese Federation! Rejoice in freedom!

Roaring applause followed.

Day 2, 7:13 am, New St. Petersburg

“Grand Arbiter, Grand Arbiter!” a female senator called as she ran toward the slender and young man that was now the Grand Arbiter.

“Yes, Senator Herr, what is it?” He responded.

“The south has rebelled; they claim to be a sovereign state, free from us! We must convene the Senate immediately!”

“Yes, we must! Get to calling the Senators, make sure they have military escorts. I want a meeting by 8 o’clock!”

And it was so. A state of civil war was declared, and the senate voted emergency powers to the Grand Arbiter, a mistake they would regret. By 9:00, he had taken away all the Senate’s power and emplaced a new constitution, becoming little more than a benevolent dictator, ready to lead military forces into battle. But he was not naïve; he called for a diplomatic meeting, on the Middle Coast, north Georgia Island. Perhaps peace could be reached.

Official Communiqué - Federation of Caelapes - Ministry of Foreign Affairs

To the Akimonadi Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

The Federation of Caelapes will assist the Akimonadis in subjugating the southern Echoese rebellion as soon as we are able to re-route troops from the civil war in British Londinium. We ask that you understand our desire to assist but at the same time our inability to change the course of events which has led us in to spreading the Caelapene Aeronavy dangerously thin. We will do our best to assist you politically and economically in the meantime.

Mandalorian Merc. Shipyard

Hundreds of smuggled ships lay on the drydocks, ranging from fishing boats to ferries. However, a few of these ships were destroyers and military vessels. The Mandalorian mercs were to board these various vessels and venture towards the split Far Echo Islands. The boats would set sail at different times, heading towards different places. They wouldn't look suspicious in the least. If somehow these ships would be detected, hidden naval guns and weapons would ward off the attackers. The plan was set.

Imperial Palace, Vetalia City

The palace was quiet, dark, and cool, with the only signs of human activity being the occasional passage of a guard or servant. Outside, the lights of Vetalia City glittered brightly, the towering signs of the nation's economic prowess seemingly stretching interminably in to the black night. On the edges, the skeletal structures of construction sites, raising ever more new skyscrapers and factories every year, reflected the continued economic boom driven by the policies of the Kosyachenko regime. It was this view that was visible through the windows of the room in which the Emperor and a well dressed, but hardly official looking man sat, a crackling fire behind them and the beautiful stone and marblework of the palace ensconcing them in its cool embrace. However, this peaceful setting was contrasted with the talk of war that had been going on for hours.

"So, it is done then, Emperor?" The voice was male, heavy with the sound of the Echo Islands' accent. It was the voice of an Echoese-Vetalian, one of the many who had settled there during the conflict between the CEFI and British Londinium. Meetings between a citizen and the Emperor were next to possible, but this was different. This man was none other than Viktor Melnikov, the nephew of former Praetor Melnikov and head of the local Vetalian

"Of course. We've received word from these rebels that we will receive our enclave, and in return we are going to commit our resources and our military to aid them in their struggle for independence. We certainly can spare them; overseas deployments are at their lowest levels in a decade..."

"How many will you spare, your highness?"
"The Proconsul of Defense has said 1 to 2 million, most likely on the lower end with the rest in reserve. In addition, two task forces and a carrier group will be sent to support the ground forces. These units have seen duty in Tornus, they know quite a bit about tropical naval combat."
"That's perfect! I will send word back home that we have obtained the support of this government. Thank you, Emperor."
"Please, Viktor, call me Valerian. Our families have been together for generations...personally, I don't even like to be addressed as Emperor when I'm not in public."
"Of course, Valerian."

Ministry of Defense

The Vetalian government wishes to announce its formal support of the Echoese rebels against the Akimonadi government. To this end, we will commit the following forces to aid in defending their territory and pushing the Akimonadi occupiers to grant the country independence. Should it be required, our forces will engage enemy targets and will interdict all hostile traffic in and out of the area, including that under the command of foreign powers.

IN Kartika, the Empire's capital city, all political hell was breaking loose.

No one knew who to support. the Secriatist of State insisted that Deplin Hyit's rebellion was the rightful ruler of the Echo Islands, whereas the Supreme Grand General of the Imperial Military wanted to back the Northern Echo Islands. A group of warmongering hobos on the streets of Northwood, in the Kirvian Midwest, proclaimed,"Fuck the lot o' 'em! Let's jus' make the whole bloody place a new province damnit!" Forunately, neither the Emperor nor the Senate was listening to them.

In the Senate, a battle of its own right was raging. The combatants fought not with guns, but with words and ideas.

"We must back Hyit's Rebellion. The Northern government is not Echoese, but a subordinate of Akimonad." stated Senator Kahlin Woodsaar of the Kotavora Colony.

"Absolutely not! We are allied with the Confederacy of the Far Echo Islands, not this ruddy "Federation". retorted Tarov Forestleaf of the Trenea Colony.

"But really, does the CFEI exist anymore? It's just a powerless organization under Akimonad." asked Keltick Hallowseve of Enscirya.

"Senator Hallowseve has a point. Moreover, the Northern government is devoid of its leaders adn unstable.

Eastern Kazlova Sea, 4 days from Port Archangel

Vasily Asimov stood on the rear deck of his small beachside home, watching in awe as the massive ships passed only a few kilometers away, their shining hulls gleaming in the sun and warmed by the steamy air of the tropical Kazlova. Their stately profiles were the clearest sign of the avenging arm of empire, from the colossal Davidson-class superdreadnaught with its massive guns and seemingly impenetrable command tower, to the huge Kuznetsov and Ulanovsk aircraft carriers to the battleships, cruisers, and destroyers that sailed along side it, to the seemingly endless transports and supply ships that moved in convoy behind them.

He was awed by the sight, the sight of a military built up to staggering proportions capable of projecting its power around the world, and it was hard not to feel proud of his country and the people who built it. However, at the same time, he realized that such a mighty display of force had only one purpose: war. Where they were headed, he did not know, but wherever they went, it would mean only one thing, only one purpose, only one aim.

He knew that these forces would add another push-pin or color another space on the Imperial map, produce another stamp for the Post Office, and bedeck another bureaucrat in the panoply of colonial administration. It was a bittersweet business, this colonialism, and it was felt keenly by Mr. Asimov as he watched that business pass before his modest home.

Alfegos usually didn't inform its enemy of its attack: much better for the surprise.

EITS 3 floated in space, watching ongoing events with amusement. Its lens picked out the massing rebels to the CFEI rule.

It processed many quick calculations, before sending down the GPS co-ordinates of the enemy army. It then went into geo-stationary orbit, and stayed there tracking their movement, in visible and infa-red light.

======

These co-ordinates were relayed through high-command to the submarines Boa, Anaconda and Python.

Snake class submarines, they crept throught the waters silently, concealing 6 torpedos tubs and 5 missile tubes, crammed with munitions.

Once it was just outside territorial waters, it fired: 4 sleek missiles flew out of the flank of the submarine, before exploding into flame on the sufrace.
They shot upwards, and then arched towards massings of the rebel troops. Each had a large 2000 lb warhead: these would put a dent in the armies. Hopefully, they would not be intercepted.

Open Declaration
Anyone found collaborating with this so-called Federation will be arrested immediately. Rebellion will not be tolerated.

Our forces in the area will be supplanted by forces already en route.

As of 9:15 this morning, the Far Echo Islands are under martial law. If the government of the North collaborates with this rebellion, we will not hesitate to dissolve it.

We warn the rebels to surrender now. We will not hesitate to destroy every city in the south until they do.

They were currently 100 miles outside CFEI arispace, and sending an encrypted message to the Akimonad:

Offshore, Port Archangel, CEFI

The fleet drew closer and closer to the northernmost extension of the CEFI, carefully arranged in defensive formation to reduce the risk of enemy attack, with the transports and supply ships in rear and the anti-missile cruisers leading the pack. Other ships, such as ASW frigates and submarines held the flanks, and in the center the carriers sailed, escorted by the two colossal supredreadnaughts and battleships. Flags flew high, and the ships' stately profiles drew closer and closer to the shore with each passing moment, in a deliberate show of force meant to convince the defenders that surrender was their best option.

Behind this force trailed the troop transports and supply ships, protected by submarines and a small number of ASW and missile frigates. However, given the defensive position provided by the ships in front, it would be difficult to attack the rear of the fleet and so the defenses were correspondingly light.

The plan was simple. The fleet would arrive in the port, drop anchor, and begin sending requests ashore with the simple demand that the defending forces surrender their position in the name of the legitimate, sovereign government of the CEFI. Once that was done, they would begin unloading forces for the occupation and pacification of the area, and then mass their troops for a push southward to capture more of the island chain. The military would hop its way through the remaining centers of resistance, eventually linking with the CEFI rebels and completely liberating the islands.

However, all they could do now was wait for an enemy response to their request of surrender...
Alfegos

The bombers heard it: they were rebel sympthasisers. They retracted thier wepaons turrets, before activating their optical and radar camoflauge, before dropping ot very low flight and cooling off their engines. They had a near-untracable heat signature, were nearly invisible in visible and radar eyes, and were flying under any stationary RADAR stations.

To leave the enemy formation a present before they disappeared, the internal payloads had disgorged in total 10 AAMs, that dropped and shot out, before turning round and locking on the Toori fighters with 5 different locks: only a stealth plane could evade these.

They locked on first with infared sensors, before following with RADAR and rudimentary visual locks. They would be hard to get rid of, even with decoys, flares and chaff. They would give the Stealth bombers time to disappear.

The Proconsul was not a man to be caught of guard. His skill in previous conflicts had told him to prepare for the worst. And prepare he had.*

There were currently 10 million troops in CFEI and some 1200 ships. There were numerous air assets as well.

The ships had been split up primarily among the northern islands. After satellites had detected the Vetalian fleet, 311 ships were moved to intercept them.

Meanwhile, the Air Forces were preparing to raid Neo Savannah. Three hundred B-2s were loaded with GBU-43/Bs and Napalm bombs. They were to be escorted by three hundred F-22s and F-35s (in total).

Eventually the planes got airborne and headed for Neo Savannah.
----------
In the northernmost regions of CFEI, a message had been received from Alfegan planes.

They replied back an affirmative, but as they did a squadron of enemy planes came in.

Forty Nike-Hercules missiles roared into the sky towards the enemy planes.

Pilots climbed into twenty F-22s and took them up to intercept.
----------
Communique to the Vetalians

Cease and desist immediately. You're supposed to be our allies.

Communique to the Federation

Bombers are headed your way. They will be called off, however, if you agree to attend a peace conference in a neutral nation.

Nearing Federation Waters

The rag-tag mercenary naval fleet had been nearing in on the coordinates sent by the Federation. With the escorts in the front and sides, they would reach land first. Helicopters were airborne, skimming the ocean waters, as the fighters aboard the carriers were on idle. Although this convoy consisted of reletively unarmed vessels, much of the fleet had defenses by the means of submarines and aircraft carriers.

The Dark Admiral of the fleet had paced the bridge of the MNS Fury. Known by his subordinates as just Dark Admiral, the man lived a dark, shadowy life. Little was known of his background except for the fact that he was an exceedingly well fleet officer. His actions in the open waters will make or the break the 1st Mandalorian Mercenary Fleet.

The pilots saw the actions of the Alfegos, and were given a radar long range proximity warning of 20 Akimonad F-22's climbing toward them.

To: Alfegos Squadron

The Consulate sends its remorce. You were a good and trustworthy ally while our short friendship lasted.

The squadron commander gave the orders. The tripple wedge formation dismanteled into an 80 meter stagger spread. This made it harder for missiles to lock on to individual targets, yet gave the formation room to manuver.

4 Flamberge's sharply broke formation and nosed down almost verticaly, sweeping their wings rearward, and engaging zone 5 super cruise. Though it was near impossible to track the stealth bombers by radar, they utalized satelite intelegence, and honed in on the atmospheric disturbence their wake created. Though it was going to be hard to manualy dive on the bombers, since no visual was made yet, the 4 pilots switched to the Flamberge's special automated guidance system, similar to an air to air missile. Their two Pratt & Whitney J58-1's were more than enough thrust. Combine with the aid of gravity, they sped downward toward the bombers at Mach 3.8. They gained range of missile lock, however, they did not arm their missiles. Their intentions were unknown.

Kiravian Empire

Permissum Astrum Subleuco

Imperial Secriat of State

Foreign Conflict Dipomacy Office

The Kiravian Empire officially declares neutrality in this civil war. All Imperial troops have been evacuated to the nearest Imperial base.

At some point in the future, our Senate may elect to support one, both, or neither sides, however, we must see how this war plays out before making any decisions.

The Echoese settlers in the Colony of New Harbour have been granted full asylum as dual Imperial citizens, and we ask that thier affairs not be involved in this war.

We will also grant asylum to any Echoese Cetacean that flees your teeritorial waters. Any Echoese Human refugees that appeal to the Empire will be transported to New Harbour.

It is saddening that yet another period of instability has struck this noble nation, and the Empire hopes that one day it will return to its former status as a honourable member of the Free World.

It is in the greatest interest of all nations that peace and prosperity rule, and it is to this end the Centralized Mountain States of Snefaldia calls for an end to all fighting, a cessation of current hostilities, and the immediate halting of any aggressive actions toward the end of combat.

Calm is in order, and there is no reason why reasoned discourse between the Federation in the south and the Akimonadite government cannot result in a better situation for all involved. The resolution of grievances and the redress of wrongs is a hallmark of modern, civilized people- this should prevail over simple, automatic, conflict.

The Centralized Mountain States would be happy to host a neutral conference to resolve the issues presented by the southern Federation. End fighting, and the people will prosper.

Fordock choses to follow the path of its ally Kirav with the exceptions of granting citizenship as Fordock does not have the power or transport to arrange that yet. Fordock also disagrees that a peace conference being held remembering the futility and resentment at the end of the Bloody Sunday war. We wish for peace but only an equal and just peace which sadly is normally impossible to find between two sides warring when neither will admit defeat nor responsibility which I am sure is the case in this situation as well. We will note though that ideologically we support the Federation however we repeat we have not nor will not aid at this time either side.

The Kroandon Fleet broke within 350 nautical miles of the Echoian Coastline, on a direct heading for Atlantinia. The rather small fleet was misleading, as each one of the SuperDreadnoughts were known to hold the power to sink fleets. Nevertheless, the armada of some 400 vessels continued forward, cutting through the waves at full speed, the destroyers and frigates positioned in a protective ring around the SuperDreadnoughts and Tanker MSB's so as to absorb whatever torpedo's or anti-ship missiles may come out of the distance. These vessels were destined for West Scotzdom not long ago, to support a Junker's Raid on neighboring colonies... however more pressing issues had arisen, such as that in the Echo Islands. None knew the Kroandon motives, but it was clear they meant business.

[Basically a bump for Akimonad. You may have missed my first post (on front page - contains numbers)... I'd rather you at least awknowledge their presence before I post them unloading upon the shores... if you do not want to send a fleet, where are your naval forces in the area? 2 of the diving Flamberge's were instantly massacred. The third was dissabled and falling barely controlable. The fourth was shot to hell, and its engines were dissabled, however, it was still falling down toward the bomber at mach2.9, and the control surfaces were still working average. The Toori Flamberge was designed without any ejection seat. No other nations knew why. The Flamberge was designed to hold very little armament. No other nations knew why. The skelital interior of the main fuselage, the nose, and all of the leading edges of the Flamberge were extremely fortified with super strong alloys native to Toori. No other nations knew why. Why was it called the 'Flamberge', the name of a massive gothic two handed german sword? Why did it look like a sword? Why was it equiped with the guidance system of an advanced seaking missile? To think such silly things in these modern times were thought silly, or rather insane. One thing was to be made certain... THEY WERE TRUE! A few split seconds later, the nose of the Flamberge cleaved the body of the Alfegos bomber clean in half, both halves whirling around uncontrolably. The collision barely slowed the plumeting craft. Both of its rudders were completely torn off, and the starboard engine was aflame. The diving blade crashed into the ocean, its victom fluttering in pursuet far above. Though 4 casualties had been made, Project Flamberge was now proven a success for the first time against enemy aircraft.

None knew the Kroandon motives, but it was clear they meant business.

The Akimonadi Command Center in New St. Petersburg had been aware of the Kroandon fleet's presence and had assembled a fleet of some 600 assorted ships.

If that wasn't enough, there were plenty of airplanes on the islands to help out.

If that wasn't enough, Chimera quasi-ballistic anti-ship missiles silos on the shores should help.

The six hundred ships had set up something of a blockade and sat silent, their weapons ready to fire at any second.

P-8 Poseidons circumnavigated the fleet constantly.

The Vetalian fleet drew closer and closer to the islands north of St. Petersburg. Once in place, they would commence a campaign to clear rebel forces out of the islands and secure the area for future conversion. If necessary, the forces would also campaign against rebel installations around St. Petersburg and work to interdict shipments of supplies to their forces.

For the time being, they would not actively move to engage the enemy outside of the island. First, they would build a supply base and command center which would eventually form the core of the new city know as Valeriovsk, which would become the next major enclave to be hosted in a foreign nation.

OFFICIAL DECLARATION FROM THE ARMED REPUBLIC OF TOORI

_________________________________________________________________

The High Consulate, along with the joint descision from our allies of Alfegos, have come to the conclusion that we shall become neutral in this pointless conflict. It was foolish of us to come running in arms to the sound of a rebelion squeeling 'unfair treatment'. If it is unfair, your honorless nation should not have submitted to the likes of another nation. Frankly, we have nothing against the nation of Akimonad, accept for what has taken place in this conflict. Though the efforts of Snefaldia are respectable, such a "peace conferance" would only bring the pointless aggrivation of nations arguing about how much of their interests of this war they are going to get, i.e., land or currency. However, we will continue to aid our allies the Maldorians. We shall offer them humanitarian aid, ammunition, supplies, and everything they need to keep their force functioning.

Understand, we are a nation who sees and admits its own mistakes. We are not so zealously proud to let them go unrepaired.

The fleet gradually came to a stop, anchored itself off of the coast, and began the long process of unloading the troops to secure the island. 200,000 of the 1 million troops dispatched on the expedition would move ashore and begin securing the island, while the high command set up its headquarters onshore. The transports drew closer and closer, with not a sign of enemy forces waiting. Even if there were, they were likely hopelessly outmatched and would be dealt with in due time by their new rulers.

By nightfall, ideally, the Vetalian flag would fly over the future site of Valeriovsk and the process of assimilation would begin. In a decade, the Echoese culture would no longer have influence on the island and the influence of Vetalia would slowly begin creeping on to the mainland...

350nm's Off Echoian Coast - 300km's From Akimonadian Fleet

Grand Marshall Arkan strolled along the command deck of the massive Overlord SuperDreadnought, the T.S.S. Kroando, looking out at the horizon, thinking to himself of the men whom were arrayed against him so far away. Although they could not be seen, although they could not be heard, he knew they were there, he could feel their presence. It was a different war indeed than those he had heard of, those during the times of his grandfather. The stories he had once heard told of large battle ships, mere toys compared to the instrument of war he now stood upon, lining up less than a kilometer away from each other, and having at one another with their guns. Arkan had yet to ever witness such a confrontation, and it was unlikely that he ever would. Though he had heard myths of SuperDreadnoughts squaring off with one another, he could not believe it in this age of Anti-Shipping Missiles, guns with ranges exceeding eyesight, and submarines of all persuasions.

As Arkan glared out over the majestic blue waters, he felt that his mission in life had been found. It was time to unfold Kroando's will upon the world. And this will began with the expanding power that was Akimonad.

The fleet, a massive array of idle ships, sat still, seemingly out of place, none would suspect that they were preparing to engage in one of the largest naval confrontations in Kroandon history. There was no immense scrurrying of soldiers, there was no pressing urge to reload the cannons. It seemed as if the fleet was docked safe at home, war not even the least likely of scenarios. However the appearance was decieving. For high in the sky much action was being perpetrated. Spy satellites relaying real time video of the Akimonadian Fleet, a 600 ship armada back to the commanders of the Kroandon 7th. They relayed all sorts of information, target structure, ship types, locations, enemy strength and strike requirements. Furthermore satellites scanned the area for submarines of if they were picked up, their locations too were relayed to the Kroandon fleet. Finally there were satellites looking on the mainland, searching for land based Anti-Ship Missile Sites.

All this changed however, in the push of a button. The massive Tanker Class Missile Barrage Ships opened up a hail of fire so great that any whom laid eyes upon would have the image engrained upon their souls for the rest of their lives. Each massive vessel, greater in size than many of the worlds Dreadnoughts, unleashed a stunning volley of 1,000 Harpoon Anti-Shipping Missiles. The five ships together fired over 5,000 missiles, a number which would impress the greatest of commanders. Each ship still had 200 unfired VLS tubes, each was to be fired. LACI Anti-Aircraft Missiles were fired, four at every last aircraft within 250 miles. [Not sure how many aircraft you have... but there are 4 missiles at each]

The next volley was nearly as impressive, as the three SDC-4 Overlord Trimarian SuperDreadnoughts unleashed their hail of Firestorm Anti-Shipping Missiles upon the Akimonadian force. Overwhelming fire power was the objective, and each missile pod (sixty total), capable of firing twenty one missiles per unit, fired ten Firestorm Anti-Shipping Missiles. This meant an additional 600 ASM's from each SuperDreadnought, three of them total, mean 1,800 more missiles. But the storm would not stop there.

There still remained 200 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers, 50 Visby Class Corvetts and 35 Negoatiator Class Cruisers, which would add considerable strength to the attack on their own account. The Negoatiators fired six Anti-Shipping Missiles each, the Destroyers two each, with the Visby's out of range, due to their missile array having a less lengthy profile. This totalled 410 ASM's from the various vessels here. However their primary purpose was not offensive, but to defend the larger Tanker Class Ships.

So in conclusion, there were 7,210 Anti-Shipping Missiles Speeding directly at 600 Akimonadian Ships, this averaged 12 missiles per ship, a very dangerous ratio for any fleet, as well as scores of missiles at whatever aircraft were in the area. As Arkan looked out over the night sky, a sky which was now bright as day, he could only smile... that which he loved had returned. War.

A quiet dinner in the command ship of the Vetalian army between the Viceroy of VEFI and the Fleet Admiral of the naval command station off of its coast was briefly interrupted by the sudden light of missiles taking off in to the sky. Judging from their location, the destination was clearly the Akimonadi fleet some distance away.

"Admiral, are you aware the Kroandon forces have launched a massive strike on Akimonad?"

"Yes, Viceroy, I'm quite aware of it. However, it is not our problem. We have our land, and we've taken care of the rebellion in this territory. If these two nations wish to fight, it isn't our problem...unless the CAP gets involved, of course. But if they do, nothing will come of it."

"Ah, well, I suppose we are in no danger here?"
"Not unless they wish to escalate the conflict. Besides, I think they will appreciate the fact that they can pass through these territorial waters unimpeded. As I said before, it is not our problem."
"That's good to hear, I suppose. Now where were we?"
"You were discussing the plans for the territory, Viceroy."

Akimonadi Fleet - 300 km from Kroandon fleet

"Missiles incoming!" shrieked an XO, who pointed to his display. It was rapidly becoming monochrome.

"Fire everything we have. Missile, lasers, CIWS."

Sea Sparrow missiles shot out en masse towards the cloud of missiles, evaporating several.

The eighty or so Monad-class corvettes sped out in front of the fleet, hoping to sacrifice themselves and maybe take some missiles with them.

They shot wildly with their CIWS and flak guns. Most of the missiles shot towards the corvettes, being the closest target.

The corvettes erupted in fireballs but so did numerous missiles.

As the missiles neared closer to the rest of the fleet, the skies were filled with flak as the laser-guided cannons opened fire on the missiles. Every ship was equipped with at least one flak cannon, and missiles dropped left and right.

Eventually the hail of missiles stopped. The casualties were the 80 corvettes and five Perry class frigates.

Of course, retaliation was swift, and bound to be more punishing for the Kroandon fleet.

Missiles shot out of the ships' tubes and sailed towards the enemy.

On land, silos opened quickly and Chimera missiles shot out, aiming for the largest ships.

And above, P-8 Poseidons took off and launched missiles and torpedoes.

About 10,000 total missiles and torpedoes would be headed for the enemy fleet.

And if that wasn't enough, B-2s were standing by on shore, loaded with MOABs.

The Akimonadi were not about to make it easy for the Kroandons to reach shore.

The Centralized Mountain States of Snefaldia calls for an immediate cessation of all hostilities, and calls the representatives of the Federation of the Echoese and the Akimonadians to a peace conference to be held in Sargedain, Snefaldia for the resolution of these issues.

We enjoin all nation-states to stop their hostilities, and pledge a cease-fire for so long a time as the peace conference can be engaged. We call on the Federation of the Echoese to call on their supporters and allies to halt all attacks against sovereign Akimonadi territory, and we call on the Akimonadians to cease active attacks into the Federation.

Through the pursuit of reasoned dialogue, the needs of both parties can be addressed. We implore you to seek peace.

Viceroy Gennadiy Dorogoi will represent the Vetalian government and the islands of our enclave in the CEFI at the peace conference in Snefaldia. At that time, we will also discuss our interest in purchasing the two remaining barrier islands for a significant sum to create a defensive shield for our territories as well as for the protection of Akimonadi facilities in New St. Petersburg and the surrounding Arctica Province.

Battle of Atlantania

The commanders of the Kroandon fleet were impressed by the apparent resiliancy of the Akimonadian's... but that impression was not enough to lower their guard for long. After the initial suprise of the effectiveness of the Akimonadians defenses, the Kroandon's showed off their own. Unlike the Anti-Missile grid of the enemy, the Kroandon's relied mainly on missile based defences, rather than CIWS guns and other weapons of the sort. The massive Akimonadian counter strike was matched with an immpressively similar number of Anti-Missile Missiles. Each of the Firestorms, which were still being reloaded with more Anti-Shipping Missiles, unleashed twenty Anti-Missile Missiles. Sixty Firestorm Units... twenty missiles from each... three ships. 3,600 missiles from the SuperDreadnoughts. Then came the defences of the Tankers, each equipped with sixty SDCI Missile Pods, each of which was capable of firing eight missiles. 2,400 more missiles in all. Then came the scores of Anti-Missile Missiles spewed in from the destroyers, corvettes and cruisers... another 1,000 missiles to the volley. Once all was said and done, 7,000 missiles had been fired at the enemy volley of 10,000. However due to the massive number of enemy missiles, and the high explosive content of both missiles, it was very possible for the collision of two of the missiles to knock out a third, or fourth.

But there still remained a massive number of missiles to be taken care of, and this is where the hundreds of CIWS guns came into play. Guns from all vessels, including the SuperDreads, the Tankers, the Destroyers... all unleashed a massive hail of laser guided lead... letting in less than one hundred of the originally fired 10,000 missiles. Fifty five destroyers were hit, as they formed the defensive shell of the armada, as were ten corvettes... all of these sank under the immense firepower. Additionally, a single SuperDreadnought was hit by some eight missiles... which were shrugged off with little attention due to the ridiculous size of the beast.

But then came the issue of re-retaliation. The same drill was repeated, with some 5,000 missiles unleashed in total in this next strike. Additionally some 400 ASROC Torpedo's were fired from the fleet... initially they flew... they flew for over 300km's... and then dropped into the water... where they continued their path towards the Akimonadian fleet. However it seemed as though the battle would require more than a logistical exchange, and so the fleet began moving... towards the enemy. Once they had come within 150 miles of their position, they would stop. It was estimated it would take some five hours... but this battle seemed as if it would go on for days...

[I did not respond to the P-8 torpedo strike yet. I fired 4 AA missiles at each one... as soon as you respond to that, I'll add in the losses from their attack.]

[I did not respond to the P-8 torpedo strike yet. I fired 4 AA missiles at each one... as soon as you respond to that, I'll add in the losses from their attack.]

The ships responded much as they had before, blowing flak, lead, missile, FAEs and lasers into the air.

The missiles were defeated with little difficulty. Only thirty cruisers and frigates had been lost. Two Wasp-class ships was damaged.

The planes above fired flares and chaff at the anti-air missiles, and Sea Sparrow missiles shot out of destroyers towards the missiles. Two of the P-8s, those leading and tailing the formation, were downed.

The subs below, having been thoroughly unaffected by the rain of metal, now found itself in danger.

The subs dropped countermeasures and fired acoustic homing torpedoes at the oncoming torpedoes.

Destroyers helped out, firing more acoustic torpedoes.

Twenty of the subs were sunk, only after taking numerous torpedo hits.

Response was swift. 8000 missiles were fired back.

Of course, there was something the Kroandons might not have anticipated.

The ship that had been previously engaging the Vetalians had been creeping slowly towards the battle. They would be in missile range soon.

But there was still one more option. Fifteen B-2s, loaded down with MOABs, took off swiftly from land bases and flew as fast as they could towards the fleet. They were escorted by fifty F-35s and would be supported more by planes from the carriers.

The B-2s reached the battle in a matter of minutes, and opened their bomb bay doors, releasing their MOABs contained within.

(OOC: Everything should be okay. I'm a little iffy on the B-2 bombers and their activities, so speak up if you see aq problem.)

[Theres nothing technically wrong with using the B-2's and F-35's as you did, it's just not strategically very smart... I'll show you why in a moment.]

Battle of Atlantania

Arkan peered through his hi-powered binoculars into the distance, though the enemy was over 120km's away, he could still see the bright flashes of explosions oh so far away. How could anything live through such an onslaught? Thought the Grand Marshall, unaware that the majority of missiles were being absorbed by walls of flak and lead. He put down the binoculars for a moment, looking at the non-stop firing of Anti-Missile Missiles, as hundreds of SDCI's, Short Range Rockets, and Air-to-Air Missiles fired off in hopes to intercept this new wave of attacks. Much like before, the majority of the incoming missiles were knocked out, but many destroyers, several corvettes and even a few cruisers were taking damage. In all, 35 destroyers, five corvettes and four cruisers had been sunk, with eight more missiles causing superficial damage to another SuperDreadnought. The torpedo's which had been fired from so far away were for the most part, intercepted by aucostic anti-torpedo torpedo's, and those which did make it through were caught by the ASHUM Guns and Anti-Torpedo Guns on the vessels... only two hit their marks, giving slight damage to the hull of a aircraft carrier.

However what the Grand Marshall did not expect was the Anti-Shipping Missile which had detonated but fifty feet below his position. A ball of fire and shards of metal errupted upward, blasting Arkan back into the metal wall of the command deck... a piece of red hot steel slicing through his right eye. A cry of pain, and several seconds later, he was being hauled below to the infirmary.

The newest threat however came in the form of 65 'birds' flying at them... at rather high altitudes... against the wind. As we all know, no aircraft is completely 'invisible', only... hidden with stealth. Stealth aircraft, even B-2's, will appear on RADAR screens... the only reason they are not fired at is due to the fact that they look like birds, not planes. However when a massive battle is raging, and there are 65 birds flying in combat formation for your fleet, you take a closer look. You focus more RADAR on the area... you discover... there are planes in the area. However the commanders of the fleet wanted kills, not just to scare them off. Unlike their unsucessful attacks on the P-8's, they would wait for the enemy aircraft to come closer, so that Anti-Missile Missiles from their own fleet could not protect them. The Kroandons unleashed some 230 LACI's and SDCI's upon the enemy B-2's and F-35's once they were about 20km's away. So it would be immpossible for the Akimonadian fleet to knock them out. [My missiles only have to cover 20km's to hit your planes... your missiles would have to cover 80km's to hit my missiles... thus my missiles would hit first.] These missiles, unlike those before, were being guided with a combind IR/LADAR/RADAR system, thus lessening the effectiveness of countermeasures such as chaff and flares. [Once you get through that, I'll add in the effect of the dropped bombs]

The battle continued, seemingly as it had before, with another volley of ASM's being returned, 3,500 in this next strike, as the missile supplies, though not depleted, were not at their pevious strength. However this was by no means the end of the Kroandon battle plan... not by a long shot. Each Overlord SuperDreadnought possessed 24 30inch ETC Guns... between the three SuperDreadnoughts, this meant 72 massive 30inch Guns. These weapons of destruction were directed right at the enemy fleet... and though they could not see their enemy with their eyes, using RADAR/LADAR targeting, as well as satellite imagery, the guns opened up. 72 500lb high explosive shells were unleashed in a moment... these shells would rain down upon the enemy very shortly, bringing hell with them. A minute later, more shells... and more... and more. A single shot from one was enough to level a large building... taking a shot from one and walking away was... unlikely. These guns, unlike the missile spams... could not be dodged, shot down or fooled... an interesting problem they would pose.

It was the job of the F-35s to do all they could to protect the bombers. They sacrificed themselves, losing all of the F-35s. The B-2s continued about their work.

Meanwhile, the ships opened up with flak and what not, blowing away the missiles with ease.

Shells rained down next, something the fleet was unprepared for. Three destroyers sunk, a Wasp sunk and the deck of a carrier caught fire.

The fleet responded with fury.

Five thousand missiles, four hundred torpedoes and 120 shells.

Meanwhile, the other fleet continued to sneak up on the Kroandon fleet. They were in missile range now, and fire of three thousand missiles.

[Few questions before I respond. What is the ship breakdown of your fleet? I only ask because for guns to have a range of 120km's, you need some pretty big guns, which means some pretty big ships (Dreadnoughts)... and I should probably know how many/what kind you have. If you had a brief Order of Battle for your fleets, that would be most helpful. Other question, what kind of torpedo's are you firing? This should probably be in the OOC... but eh, I'll delete it once you respond.]

Lessee...

6x Chupacabra-class Super Dreadnaughts ((BL Davidson-class, reverse-engineered))
24x Gerald R. Ford-class carriers
72x Wasp-class Amphibious Assault Ships
120x CG(X) Guided Missile Cruisers
108x Zumwalt Destroyers
150x Alfa-class SSNs
36x K130 Corvettes
36x Perry-class Frigates
80x Monad-class Corvettes

That's the original OoB. The only ones made up are the Chupacabra-class (which is a reverse-engineered Davidson-class) and the Monad-class, which I mentioned before are all gone.

And with the new fleet, that's...
3x Chupacabra-class Super Dreadnaughts ((BL Davidson-class, reverse-engineered))
12x Nimitz-class carriers
36x Wasp-class Amphibious Assault Ships
60x CG(X) Guided Missile Cruisers
54x Zumwalt Destroyers
75x Alfa-class SSNs
36x Ohio-class SSBNs
40x K130 Corvettes

Added to the fleet.

I suppose they're typical Mark 48 torpedoes.

The Akimonadi aircraft had been spotted inbound by sensors, and the opperation was ordered to be expadited. Gunships arived on the scene and aided by lifting the crates off of the top decks. Toori cargo freighters and trade ships always were accompanied by military escort. This time, they were accompanied by seven corvettes, five missile friggates, which were attempting to aquire missile lock on the inbound aircraft, hover skiffs, and patrol boats. Message of the approaching force soon landed back in the Reconnaissance Islands.

Again, I'm not trying to RP your country, but this leaves -6 Trillion dollars for the rest of your navy, let alone your military. Just a little economic concern. Urg, semantics. First of all, I don't really use those calculators, so I wouldn't really know, but whatever.

BL says they're manufactured for less then they're sold. So I gather that it'd be easier to reverse-engineer them.

Not to mention that they're heavily modified, hence their own class.

[Thats fine and understandable, but even if you heavily change the numbers that the calculators give, you still have to go somewhat off of their numbers. If I just said I had 200 trillion for defence, it's just outrageous, so even if you use something different, they should be similar. Lets say your defence budget was 10 trillion, this still wouldn't accomidate your immense navy. [Which is larger than mine, and I am a militiristic nutjob several times your size.] BL's ships probably have a production cost of arround 700billion if he sells them at 1.3trillion. So even if yours is modified, less than 500billion would be crazy. So thats 4.5 trillion. The rest of your two fleets is easily another trillion or so... and this is only two fleets from your entire navy. This would leave no room for an army or airforce. To put into prospective, you fired nearly 25 Billion dollars of missiles at me so far. It's just... you're military seems bigger/more advanced than mine, and I am 3x your size with a stronger economy. Just a slight issue. BTW... I can't find the OOC thread.]

OOC: I'm proud to say that I'm the designer of the Davidson-class. With that in mind, I'd like to say a few things. The production costs of the vessel are around 800 billion dollars, and it is sold for 1.3 trillion. With that said, they are extremely expensive. When Akimonad and I arranged the purchase order, we agreed to a staged payment over the course of several years, with delivery and construction to occur ASAP. So, yes, it's impossible to pay for them all in one year. But, no, it isn't impossible to maintain several dreadnoughts with that sort of money.

[Building a Dreadnought itself takes several years, so based off of when TFEI declared independence these ships may not even exist yet. Not to mention you (BL) will be footing a large bill by extending payment. But anyways, the fleets in general (not just the Dreads) are in the trillions... I really don't want to add up all their prices, but if I must... I best begin working.]

OOC: I never brought the rest of his navy into the calculation. I think he'd be rather strained maintaining the SDs, the rest of his navy, the army, and the air force, plus building all the weapons.

Official Response

Your ships were not authorized to enter sovereign Akimonadi waters. We also have reason to believe you are aiding rebels, which would indicate a breaking of your previous declaration of neutrality.

Cease and desist immediately, or your ships will be fired upon.

Our trade ships are in the process of offloading their trade shipment to one of our allied nations. Due to the recent jamble of events inclueding the uprising of a new, supposedly sovereign, rebel nation, the national waters of this region have not been specified, and untill they are officialy specified, they are considered international waters. None the less, your accusations of our aid being dispenced to the rebel nation is entirely false. They deserve nothing from the Toori, and shall get nothing.

Our opperation is near completion. Alot us the time, and we shall vacate the area as swift as possible. If our ships are targeted, we will not hesitate to defend them.

We have been given cause to remind all involved that both the Centralized Mountain States of Snefaldia, as well as the Autocratic Federated Empire of Akimonad are both signatories of the AAA (http://z11.invisionfree.com/Antarctic_Oasis/index.php?showtopic=158) treaty, which offers collective security for all signatory nations. This is in addition to the membership within the Coalition of Allied Powers, which offers similar protections.

We wish to remind all that the greatest victory will be a sustainable peace. The conference in Snefaldia is still open to any who wish to be included, and we urge those parties who have not yet assented to let their voices and concerns be heard.

[Anyways, we can continue this in the OOC thread... I'll go find it once I write this up... post is calculating 3 SuperDreadnoughts. Ah, and a Superdreadnought is called 'Super' due to it being larger than a Dreadnought. Not meaning that a normal Dread is not super... just that the SuperDreadnoughts are... more super.]

Battle of Atlantania

The first of the massive 32 inch shells (only 54 of them total. Each Davidson is armed with 18 32inch guns, three Davidsons, 54 shells in a volley, not 120) landed within twenty meters from the T.S.S. Kroando, sending waves of salty ocean onto the massive vessels armored sides. Missiles continued raining in, dozens now sneaking through the cracks of the Kroandon Missile Defense Grid, a further eight cruisers sinking, twelve Destroyers hitting the bottom, and two Tanker Class MBS's taking considerable fire. The SuperDreadnoughts were each hit by three to four missiles, but as usual, continued forward. As usual, a missile wave was returned, some 3,400 missiles being fired over the period of ten minutes. If anything, the enemy missile defences would begin to weaken. However the main concern was now the 32inch shells which were raining in. Though not as numerous as the Kroandon 30inch shells, were still causing damage, as one slammed into the side of a Tanker, immobilizing it completely.

Fortunately for the Kroandons, the massive wave of Mk 48 torpedos which had been fired was done so in vain. As the Mk 48 had a maximum range of 8km's, and the Kroandons were over 75km's away, there was no chance they would ever reach them... and they all likely sank to the bottom of the ocean once reashing their maximum range.

With the increasing strength of Akimonadian firepower, it was clearly time to unload the Halcon Stealth Fighters. The 225 Halcons which were loaded upon the Nimitz's began taking off en masse, not heading towards the enemy, but patroling the area, covering the fleet as they continued their move forward. Within fifteen minutes, the entirety of the aerial force was in the air... patrolling... waiting.

The Davidson Class SuperDreadnoughts had the advantage of having bigger guns. Indeed, their 32inch guns did outmatch the 30inch guns of the Overlords. However this meant little when the vessels were evaluated overall. 18 32inch guns... this was the entire arsenal of the Davidson. The Overlord possessed 24 30inch guns 12 18inch guns and 24 more 14inch guns... so the Overlord possessed 60 guns overall, as opposed to the 18 guns of the Davidson.

And now that the Overlords were within range of all of their guns, it would be bloody. Unlike before, when the guns were simply pointed in the direction of the entire Akimonadian Fleet, the three SuperDreadnoughts pointed their massive array of guns directly at the enemy SuperDreadnoughts and opened fire. SuperDreadnoughts were hard targets to miss... the Davidson being over a mile long, and as wide as two football fields. The Kroandon volley of 72 30inch shells, 36 18inch shells, and 72 14inch shells, 180 shells in all, were fired, from relatively short range, directly at some of the biggest targets to ever sail the seas. Missing was a difficulty, as the weapons were using state of the art firing trajectory technology to hit relatively close targets the size of small towns.

Of course torpedos were to be added to the volley, some 200 ASROC's being unleashed in unison with the array of shells and missiles. The thinking was, if the Kroandons could simply overwhelm the enemy systems with missiles, ASROCS and shells, the grid would weaken, and the coming punch would be too much to withstand. The Halcon Stealth Fighters began heading for the Akimonadian fleet, using the cover of firepower to avoid destruction.

I'll post SDCI missiles firing when you're coming close to me.]

Vetalian Oceania

The din of construction partially muffled the sounds of distant combat as the Vetalian engineering corps worked to convert the island to another enclave, centered on the trade city of Soloveysk. The workers scurried like so many ants, digging ditches, building sewers, roads, and other infrastructure to sustain the future metropoles that would anchor the islands under Vetalian control. On elaborate temporary platforms, draped with fine awnings to shield them from the sun and tables bedecked with food and drink, the island's Viceroy and his staff watched as the islands slowly evolved in from wilderness to the lush opulence of Vetalian culture. A large group of staff catered to their every need as they watched the symphony of prosperity play before them.

It was an interesting scene, the Vetalians laboring to build while others destroyed in the distance. Of course, this scene also left out their own military forces, which watched with careful vigilance over the three islands of the enclave and ensured the fighting did not spill over in to their territory.

The F-35s and A-10s flew towards the "operation", strafing anything they saw moving. As soon as they got close enough, they dropped fifteen JDAMs and fired off twenty Hellfire missiles at whatever they deemed important.

The Miniguns deployed by the crew of the Toori freighters opened wide up, unleashing a stream of fire into the air, shreading into the incoming A-10s. The Gunships in the area had already engaged multiple targets at once, their 40mm gattling cannons mounted on the four ball turrets tracking and boaring into the planes swarming about them. The Hellfires and JDAMs took affect. Explosions rocked and flashed about the two frieghters. The upper decks of both took heavy dammage. By now the EA-10 Thunderwakes were far above. Radar, communications, and sensory jamming was in effect. Their escort; twenty eight Toori Flamberges. They were nearly directly over the formation of Akimonadi fighters when they nosed over and accelerated downward. They were high enough to where their missiles could still get a lock. They fired fifty AMRAAM missiles downward at the bandits. Moments later, the downthrusting wave of Toori fighters collided with the enemy, as the Flamberge’s design called for. The Toori pilots purposely initiated mid-air collisions with the enemy aircraft, for they knew their survivability was far more likely than theirs. A large explosion was seen on the second Toori freighter. It erupted from inside sending a large portion of the ship flying. The massive ship listed, and partialy sunk in the shallow water, its crew still onboard putting up whatever fight they could with small arms and light anti-air weapons.

As the ten B-2's made it through the missile spam, they were immidiately encountered by a wave of fourty five short-range SDCI's... allowing them to reach the fleet was simply not an option.

The missiles and torpedoes struck, felling several destroyers and cruisers. Then the shells struck, damaging several carriers and felling more ships. One of the Superdreadnaughts was also listing some. Several submarines were also missing in action.

"I've had it." the fleet admiral said. "Fire the special munitions."

"But... but..." stammered an XO, "you don't have authorization! That could have huge repercussions for the whole country!"

"DO NOT argue with me."

"But... but..."

"DO IT NOW."

"But..."

"NOW."

Some 4000 missiles were fired towards the enemy fleet. Mixed in with them were five nuclear depth bombs, which flew as missiles but would drop out of the missiles near the enemy fleet and hopefully destroy them with its 45 kiloton warhead.

Above the Akimonadi fleet, five hundred SAMs shot towards the fighters, stealth or not. Four hundred F-35s took off to intercept the fighters.

The B-2s above the Kroandon fleet opened their bomb bay doors and dropped out their MOABs onto the fleet. It was then that SAMs struck. The bombers tried to evade them to no avail. The SAM hit the bombers. Some of the bombers, however, survived enough that their mostly-useless hulks were still formidable. The pilot of one, still alive, steered the burning profile of his plane towards the largest ship he could see. Hopefully it would have enough kick to do some damage...

All but one plane was felled.

Five Tu-160s were taxiing onto the runway. They were each loaded with "Father Of All Bombs" which had enormous destructive power without the consequences of nukes.

After waiting for some time, they had all managed to get in the air and flew in formation towards Neo Savannah.

Battle of Atlantania

"Admiral... incoming missile wave! Over 4k in strength sir!", shouted Captain Exion as the entire room was illuminated in red lights and blaring sirens. The Admiral slammed his fist on the table... these damned Akimonadians were more persistant than first thought. "What is our response strength!? I need report status immidiately!", shouted the black clad Admiral as he looked out over the deck of the SuperDreadnought, two Anti-Shipping Missiles slamming into it's hull, shaking men to their knees. "20% sir... we simply haven't had enough time to reload all sectors... many pods aren't even cooled from the last wave.", responded Exion as he looked over the digital completion report.

"What the fuck does that mean Captain? Give me numbers... how many missiles do we have ready?", responded the Admiral, frustrated with the entire situation. The Captain, adding numbers quickly in his head, "Less than 1,200 sir...", the response meant doom for the fleet. With that level of missile readiness, over 2,000 ASM's would impact with the Kroandon Fleet, leaving mere scraps to fend off the rest of the attackers.

Admiral Skarn let out a sigh, "Fire the fail safe." And with a slight nod, Captain Exiom oppened a small glass box on a rather important looking control panel, inserted a red key, turned it, and pressed one of several lit buttons. The fail safe was a 21kiloton nuclear LACI Interceptor Missile. To large to effectively knock out enemy Anti-Shipping Missiles one at a time, it was simply geared with a warhead the size of the Hiroshima Bomb, and let loose. The missile would intercept the enemy missile spam at roughly mid point... meaning that when it blew, the combind effect of five 45 kiloton explosives and a 21 kiloton explosive would go off together.

The relatively small 21kiloton nuclear weapon detonated, wiping out the massive missile spam in a single blow. Even those ASM's not directly blown by the explosion, would be knocked into the ocean by the shockwaves. But what finalized the fact that no missile would make it to the Kroandon Fleet was simple. The combind detonations of all the nuclear weapons blew everything in the area to hell and back... ten times over. The shockwave was enough to capsize many of the perimeter destroyers, and knock any sailor on deck flate on his ass. The nuclear winds blew anything not nailed down straight into the sea... and that was how the first nuclear weapons in the war were fired.

T.S.S. Kroando - Command Deck

"Sir... the nuclear detonation detected was far too large to be from our failsafe... there were nuclear warheads in the missile spam.", Marshall Hornok reported, entering the room with several papers in hand. "So you were right Captain... the Akimonadians do want to escalate this conflict. So be it... 847."

847 was the order to change the conventional shells of the SuperDreadnoughts to nuclear shells. What did this mean. It meant that instead of a standard 30inch shell... a 32kiloton nuclear shell would be fired... so even if it didn't hit the SuperDreadnought it was shooting at... it sure as hell would destroy it.

The Kroandon volley of 72 30inch shells, 36 18inch shells, and 72 14inch shells, 180 shells in all, were fired, from relatively short range, directly at some of the biggest targets to ever sail the seas. 180 nuclear shells, with varying nuclear ordanances. All in all, 270kilotons of nuclear shells had just been fired at the Akimonadian Fleet.

As ships evaporated in the hellish nightmare of nuclear explosions, it was clear what was needed. The Admiral in the last surviving Dreadnaught, which was listing heavily, ordered everything fired at the fleet. One thousand Nuclear Depth Bombs, Torpedoes and missiles were fired at the fleet. They would be joined soon by other nuclear payloads once the air wing en route would arrive.

T.S.S. Kroando

Admiral Skarn gave off a grim smile as he looked out over the horizon, watching as massive mushroom clouds rose up into the air over 100km's away. Nuclear exchange was never a first option of the Kroandon Military, nuclear weapons could only be used in a 'fire first' scenario as a means to knock out missile spams, or ICBMs. Kroandon Commanders were otherwise prohibited from using such weapons, simply because of the catostrophic reprocussions nuclear warfare could have. It seemed that the Akimonadians were now learning this... for should the battle have continued on a conventional pace, the Akimonadians would have at least knocked out 3/4 of the Kroandon fleet, if not destroyed it altogether.

But now it seemed as if that would not come to reality. "Sir! Satellites have a lock on massive missile launches from land based platforms!", shouted one of the various Officers on deck. Skarn's face turned to a scowl... when would these fuckers give up!? Using IR targeting from their orbital satellites, the fleet was preparing to fire another few rounds of failsafe missiles... resting in the knowledge that the this volley was bound to be filled with nuclear munitions.

However another solution was found... in the Halcon Stealth Fighters deployed not long ago. Though over half their number had been irradicated by the Akimonadian Surface-to-Air Missiles, over 45 were left in the air. Those twenty five were now in the area of the burning Akimonadian Fleet, which the new wave of missiles would have to pass over should. Those Halcons were instructed to destroy as many of the missiles coming at them as possible. Though the torpedos would simply run out of fuel before reaching the Kroandons, the missiles, and the payloads they carried, were more troubling.

The Halcons encountered the massive missile wave approximatly 10km's behind the Akimonadian fleet... and unleashed a hail of some 74 Anti-Missile Missiles [SDCI-3's], at this imposing threat. Only one actually hit it's target. Why? Because when the missile detonated, it set off a massive nuclear explosion... which set off another nuclear explosion... and another... and another... and another... and another. The nuclear missile wave destroyed itself, along with the unfortunate Kroandon pilots, who were literally thrown out of the air by the shockwave, into the firey waters below.

The nuclear winds from the Akimonadian missile spam reached the Kroandon fleet, 130km's away, igniting yet another grim smile on Skarn's face.

[1. B-2's and MOAB's. I responded by firing more AA missiles, if I missed another B-2 strike, assume the same response. I would flood the air with missiles if I had to in order to keep them away... if you still doubt my resolve to keep bombers away from my fleet, assume I fired ten at each aircraft.

2. If I destroyed even one of the missiles in the spam, the resulting electro-magnetic blast would be enough to destroy any other missile within miles... let alone the shockwave and explosion itself. So if I detonated 10 of these missiles, your entire missile spam would understandably be negated. This is why nuclear missile spams are not common place... at least not in that form.

Side note, it is sad how this war has so quickly devolved into a 'NUKE YOUZ!' contest. It is not fun, nor entertaining, and fun was you goal, was it not?]

Kroandon Fleet

By this point in time full scale nuclear defensive measures had been initiated. What this meant was that it was now determined that the Akimonadians would be resulting to the lowest form of warfare, one which involved no tactics, no brains and no skill. It involved firing as many nuclear weapons as possible, and hoping that nothing was left when the last missile was fired. It also meant that the Kroandons now needed to change their defensive measures accordingly.

During the conventional exchange period, missiles were fired to counter missiles, CIWS guns were expected to take out whatever was left... and should a missile make it in... it was of no concern, for one missile could not destroy a fleet. Now however, things were different. Whatever missiles the Akimonadians fired had to be eliminated not only miles away, but hundreds of miles away, and they had to be destroyed entirely. How could one ensure such sucess? With nuclear missiles designed to destroy other nuclear missiles.

Since the begining of the conflict, Kroandon satellites had been focusing in on Akimonadian Silo's with pinpoint accuracy. Every last one of them was under watch, not because the Kroandons expected nuclear war, but because they expected Khan Anti-Shipping Missiles. Though they never came, the satellites till watched with pin-point precision. Should any signs of them opening come, it would immidiately be relayed to Kroandon High Command. And come they did. The very second the silo doors began opening, there was a Kroandon Officer initiating a counter-launch sequence. There was a Kroandon Tech Specialist redirecting nuclear-orbital assets in space. There was action in the sky.

Before the Akimonadian ballistic missile spam even got 100 meters in the air, Kroandon Nuclear Weapons had been fired from their orbital platforms. Missiles which were designed to disembark from the satellites, and speed down to earth, detonating when they came within range of the MRBM's. As with all ballistic missiles, they had to take a massive arch, near space even... it was when they came near space that they would be eliminated.

The 5,000 Akimonadian Missiles were encountered by over 240 Kroandon Missiles, each of 64kiloton persuasion. This meant for every Kroandon missile, scores of Akimonadian's were knocked out. Not only due to the sheer explosive power of the missiles, but due to the massive shockwaves and EMP's released. The massive amount of nuclear power being released here was simply amazing, as anyone looking into the sky at this time would see a show unlike any before.

T.S.S. Kroando

The battle had been raging for three days, and Grand Marshall Arkan, whom had previously been incapacitated by a piece of scolding metal to the face, was now walking about. As he patrolled the deck, looking over the sea at the still burning Akimonadian Fleet, he could only shake his head. Stupid bastards... they would have sunk us too. Thought Arkan as the radioactive fires from oh-so-far away illuminated the calm sea. It had been hours since the last of the enemy missiles were knocked out by the valiant Halcons, and now it seemed as if everything would be set into a calm.

But it was not so, as the sailors of the fleet were treated to a show. Far up in the sky, far, far away, fireworks were going off. Massive nuclear explosions which illuminated the whole night sky, and could be seen hundreds of miles all around. The death that would come from them would not be thought of for some time, for at the moment, everyone was simply in awe of the explosions above. Arkan too, one of the most veteran warriors the world had ever seen, not even the Grand Marshall could keep from watching the show.

And then rang off the LACI's, nuclear laden Surface-to-Air Missiles, over 50 of them in all, fired off to create a protective shield hundreds of thousands of feet above the fleet. A shield of nuclear explosions which would destroy any remaining Akimonadi missiles. As the last of the enemy missiles were blown to oblivion, the voice on the loud speaker rang out...

All personell... report to NBC dispersing areas for equipment distribution.

However there always seemed to be another threat... such as the one presented by the Akimonadian aerial forces closing in on the Kroandon Fleet. The LACI's would again be put to use... however this time, under the doctrine of nuclear retaliation. The Akimonadi's wanted to play with fire? They would get fire.

Two missiles were fired at the entire Akimonadian B-2/F-35 Force. Two nuclear missiles with 21 Kiloton Warheads. With a range of 500 miles, they were fired when the enemy air forces came within 400 miles, to prevent them from fleeing, and to make sure they were a safe distance away from the fleet so as to not endanger any of the vessels.

Supreme Commander Yav Teimak watched in horror as the mushroom clouds filled the distant sky, but not distant enough. The war was likely to end now, nuke were despised as plagues on the land, the government would rather be oppressed than radioactive. Yav waited 15 minutes for executive orders, and then made his own, as a Supreme Commander, Yav had control of all branches, and he used it.

He called up the Generals and Admirals, and as he walked before in a port facility in Neo Savannah them he began with a simple statement, “Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m pissed.” He paused for effect, “These idiots are fighting for our land and will not stop. They’ve resorted to using nuked, as of now; Atlantania is out of power due to EMP. We are trying to evacuate 50 million people from a region of fallout. I order you to deploy everything we have to get the Akimonadites out of here, now! Be sure to take out their shoreline missile batteries, and sink every dreadnaught to supply boat in those bastards’s fleet. Use what ever means, even nukes.” As he finished, massive explosions rung out The anti-air had not picked up on the Akimonadites as a threat because they were the exact same planes that were thought to be being smuggled out of New St. Petersburg by rebel sympathizers. FOAB’s rocked the city, doing damage with not just explosive force, but earthquake like reverberations as well. Fire once again raged in Neo Savannah. Adelie Class battleships set sail with a group of Ranger Class Carriers, and 3 Aegis class destroyers. The Adelie Classes came within range and fired two rounds of 1000 Tomahawk Missiles at the Akimonadite battleships. The Ranger Class Carriers launched 50 F-14’s at the Akimonadites which launched four long range missiles each at the smaller ships of the fleet, and the Carriers complimented this by firing 250 Tomahawks of their own at the smaller ships.

22 JAU-64 fighters flew up to take down the now enemy planes, though knowing it was too late, the bombers had likely done all they were going to do, however, it was wise not to give them the chance to do it again. The fighters got a lock with medium range missiles as well as ground based installations fired; the total number of missiles came into the hundreds.

In Atlantainia the Federal Army had rallied together, concerned about the fallout, true, but the National Guard was supposed to handle the evacuation, but the Akimonadite facilities were probably hardened against this, thus, they were priority targets. There were 20, 000 soldiers in Atlantania and they began to lay siege with T-100 tanks, mortars and artillery. They had all intentions of taking the doomed city.

[ooc: Aye, did I miss anything? I’ll give a more detailed causality report when the nuking settles out. Also, I’m not sure of your total forces in Atlantania, if population has anything to do with it; the total population within the city is 7 million.]

Airspace near Kroandon Fleet
The four F-35s at the front of the force had been equipped with prototype lasers in case something like this might happen. They didn't anticipate nukes, though. Regardless, something had to be done to ensure the completion of their mission.

The F-35s activated their lasers with a flick of a switch. Now all they had to do was fly in a nice straight line towards the nukes and hope that the lasers would do their job in time.

The two lasers focused on each of the nukes were the right tool for the job. They were able to disable the nukes in time.

The pilot in the first F-35 wiped his brow and sighed heavily. Next time they might not be so lucky.

Space Above Kroandon Fleet
High above the airwing, four satellites moved into position. They targeted the remaining Kroandon fleet and dropped their payload, a total of 20 godrods.

Some Brilliant Pebbles and Anti-Satellite Lasers were activated and put on standby.

Some 3000 more IRBMs and MRBMs were fired from the ground to complement the godrods.

Airfields in Akimonadi Territory
The C-17s got underway and took off, their passengers looking somewhat nervous. They were about to paratroop into enemy territory.

Meanwhile, closer to the ground, the Boeing Pelicans moved slowly forward and continued on their path. They would come in to the west and east of Neo Savannah under the cover of darkness.

RADARS picked up the C-17’s coming in, and there was to be no mistakes this time. The now paranoid Echo Federation forces, going crazy over the Neo Savannahian devastation, and SAM missiles were fired at the planes. Also, old flak guns were seen as not too good of a tool, but it was an ‘if we have them, why not use them?’ situation. So the skies turned black with the old AAA shells.

It was also logical to assume that since these were C-17’s, that it was probably a paratroop drop. On the ground, forces got ready, and started setting up sand bags at bases, and set up machine gun emplacements to tear up the paratroopers before and after they got on the ground.

Several air wings of F-15E’s went up after the C-17’s as well. A total of 80 planes.

Kroandon Airspace [Akimonadian Aerial Forces]

[Now I do not doubt the pheasibility of lasers on F-35's, however there is a slight issue with the 'neutralizing' of the nuclear missiles. The nuclear weapon is triggered by a small conventional explosive which surrounds the plutonium core... the small conventional explosive blows, then the plutonium goes 'Boom'. So by blowing up the missile, you would blow the conventional explosive... and basically blow the nukes.

Now the laser could only have a range of about a mile... which would mean the blast would either A. Destroy all of the aircraft. B. Blow them away with the shockwave. C. Knock out all electronics with the EMP. or D. All of the above. So there is a slight problem.]

Kroandon Fleet

The next wave of ballistic missiles was now just a war of economic figures. The Akimonadi's were firing 3,000 50Million Dollar Ballistic Missiles, a total cost of over 150 Billion at the Kroandon Fleet. That 150 Billion would be knocked out by 5Billion in Kroandon Missiles. As before, hundreds of 50 kiloton LACI missiles were fired, as were dozens more from space, creating yet another 'nuclear shield' over the Kroandon Fleet. Thousands upon thousands of nuclear weapons were incinerated miles and miles above the earths surface, as radioactive dust rained down upon the Far Echo Isles. Millions would die... the islands would not be inhabitable for years. However the Kroandon Fleet, would not sink.

However there was still a problem. The godrods. These were far more difficult to pick up than the massive ICBM missile waves which illuminated every piece of equipment in the Kroandon arsenal. The god rod strike was far more discreet, and far more effective. However, the Kroandon's would not be taken completely unprepared for the attack. Though extremely difficult to shoot down, every CIWS gun in the fleet was pointed into the air, in the laser-directed area of the god rods. Now normally bullets would be useless against God Rods, however Kroandon CIWS guns used explosive rounds, flak so to speak, for they were more effective against missiles.

Thousands of 30mm guns rang out, spitting millions of rounds into the air. They were joined by SDCI Missiles, rockets, and every other sort of weapon aboard the massive Kroandon fleet. However it was not enough. Seven of the god rods were knocked out, thirteen remained. One landed directly in the center of destroyer, one hit the T.S.S. Kroando SuperDreadnought, lightly damaging it, six hit a Nimitz Class Carrier, putting it on a slow but certain path to the bottom of the sea, and five hit the T.S.S. Scolar, a SuperDreadnought. The Kroando shook off the godrod hit, it's massive size not to be sunk by a single hole, as engineers and repair ships immidiately began working to save the vessel, which they inevitable would. However the Scolar had already taken over 20 Anti-Shipping Missiles, and now the five god rods put it on a course of disaster. However it would seem the massive vessel would not go down so easily.

The T.S.S. Scolar began moving full ahead, directly at the shore line. It went forward, pushing it's nuclear reactors to the max, as it plowed ahead at over 25knots. The ship moved on and on, slowly taking water... untill it stopped. The massive SuperDreadnought, over a mile long, slid into the beach... grounding itself intentionally. The vessel was now immobile, but it would not sink. It then turned it's guns towards shore, and began blasting away at the missile silos which had been firing at it for the last several days. It was joined by the rest of the fleet, all of whom's guns were focused on these missile silos... additionally, over 800 Tomahawks were fired at these locations. Enough was enough, these silos had to be silenced.

In Space

The Akimonadian GodRod strike was economically speaking, the greatest sucess, causing billions in damages with millions in hardware. This could not be allowed to continue. The Kroandons had a massive orbital arsenal, yet only a fraction would be used now. One platform to be exact. One SDCI-4 Anti-Satellite Missile Platform, which held upon it, over sixty five missiles. And did they ever begin firing off. The Kroandons only knew of four Akimonadian Satellites [the four which dropped the God Rods]... and those four satellites were now facing fifteen missiles each... enough to overwhelm any laser or CIWS defense they may have in place.

"Those fucking rats!", roared the Grand Marshall as he slammed down his black gloved fist to the mahogony table. His teeth clenched, jaw shaking, red faced in rage. His black glass eye relfected the lighting in the room, the massive scar covering his face giving off a terrible and frightening appearance. "How dare they! The worms! The curs! Those worthless bastards!"

"Please, Marshall, you are too weak, your blood pressure must not-", cut in Arkan's personal doctor, the fourth he had taken thus far during the voyage. The first had been thrown overboard when the sea sickness medication did not kick in fast enough, the second and third were killed when they failed to completely restore his face, which was horribly scarred during the Battle of Atlantania. And now the fourth interrupted him in a moment of rage. This was a very, very bad idea.

Arkan stood up, withdrawling his 9mm Sidearm as he did so, directing the weapon at the Doctor and pulling the trigger five times. "Those wretches... we have lost billions in weaponry and vessels. One of my God Damned Dreadnoughts is beached right now in defense of these fucking little cowards. Thousands of Kroandons are floating dead right now, thousands more are wounded beyond all comprehension. And they will just throw in the towel, status-quo anti-bellum?!", Arkan was spitting in his rage it was so great. The veins in his neck seemed as if they would burst. He had gone through quite a bit of trouble to undertake this expedition... and it would not be allowed to end like this.

Imperial Declaration in Response to the Echoese Federal Collapse
The Coalition does not recognize the surrender of the puppets that have taken control of the Federation. We no longer recognize the Federation as the legitimate governing force of the Far Echo Isles, and now deem the lands a territory in chaos, whose people are oppressed on all sides by foriegn conquorers and domestic thieves. We shall liberate the people of the Echo Isles by any means necessary... even if their liberation is recieved in the after life.

[I hope it is clear that just because TFEI has rejoined you, it does not in any way mean that my invasion has stopped. It only means that I now have more things to shoot at.]

I should have said earlier, but oh well.

Ignored. There's now way 1.8 meters of armor (not to mention that it's wanked anyhow. "Self-healing" my foot) could not survive a direct hit by a godrod.

[I dont believe there is any part in my post that indicated that the armor 'deflected' or 'survived' the god rod strike. A god rod is a large metal rod which moves at insane speeds. It pokes holes in things. And thats what it did to the SuperDreadnought. It poked a hole right through it [five of them]. You have any idea how long it would take a hole 1-3ft in diameter to sink a vessel a mile long, and hunderds of yards wide? Days. There are five holes in the boat... each taking on water. And thats why the SuperDread grounded itself. A god rod can only do so much damage, and it did what it could.

Now, any other reason you want to ignore it?]

one hit the T.S.S. Kroando SuperDreadnought, lightly damaging it...

Even one would tear a hole in the ship. That's not light damage.

And anyhow, I'm done here.

[One two foot thick hole in a mile long ship? Very much repairable. Ergo, light damage. Now, any other OOC bullshit you'd like to pull out to try and avoid losing?

So I assume you are surrendering the Far Echo Islands to me then? You have no legit reason to ignore me, and by doing so, will simply confirm the accusations of your complete lack of RP ability. It went from wanked armies, to 'NUKZ!' to god rods. All without the least bit of actual RP. Standard n00bishness in it's purest form.

TFEI, if he ignores me, you should consider yourself emancipated.]

[OOC: If you'd like, I can ignore the facts that: 1) The SDs you're using are complete godmods, and 2) the armor on them is about as strong as styrofoam. DMG's post says that the armor is 10kg per square meter. Typical US Navy armor from WWII battleships was 4,215 kg per square meter.

Or you can retcon your SDs dying at the first missile strike because of their extremely thin armor.]

[Or you could retcon your entire number wanked military? You bullshitted the hell out of your nation, plain and simple. You have a fleet which sizes up to most nations navies, and I mean nations with 4 billion people. Yet I, just to keep things moving, ignored the fact that your military was about 25 times to big. You are Costa Rica, and you act like you could support the military of the United States. Yet I let it go.

What do you do? Incapable of accepting a defeat, you resort to the most noobish excuse for a war I have ever witnessed, launching more nukes than most nations have silos, then god rodding the enemy because you just don't know what to do. I'll talk to DMG, clearly it was a typo... if it's still a problem, how bout I do what you did. 'Im using BL's ship... but there is stuff different... I just won't tell you what.' So there ya go, it's different. And since you have no write up for any of your ships at all, nor do you even have a military factbook, you have zero room to critisize pretty much anything.

Ah, and finally, this is early PMT. SuperDreadnoughts have been accepted (in case you forgot, you used them), and are just as realistic as godrods and half the other shit out there. Ah, and I hope that you weren't referring to nuclear artillery shells as godmods... they've existed since the 1960's.

Oh, and way to go on the calling out the SD armor... ten posts after the battle.]

This has started a lot of ooc hatred. This I thought was gona be a more fun rp, but it turned to stink burgers. I've thought of an alternate was this could go, and be more fun and have a better chance of getting me free. In short, Retcon of this thread. I will not over throw the old government this time and will, well, just do things differently... If you guys are intrested or not please tell so.

ooc: err, I wasn't saying this is all retconed, I was just kind of calling for a vote on retconing this. Yes or No

[I personally see no reason to, you are independent as far as I'm concerned. Akimonad will simply ignore, 'nukz!', numberwank and godmod untill he wins, so RP'ing with him is rather pointless.]
