History: Set up as a buffer and satellite state for the Soviet Union, Mongolia was used to supply and train the Soviet Army. While it was spared the brunt of destruction of World War III, it nonetheless was greatly affected. With the major regional powers wiped out, Mongolia was set free to roam on its own. The Communist leadership was bloodlessly removed from power by Boke, a semi-nomad from just outside Ulaanbaatar. With Communism and outside influences swept out of the way, Boke set about restoring his country to something worthy. He declared himself Khan on 29 December 1965 and hundreds of thousands of nomads and other citizens showed up in a Khural to support him the traditional Mongol way. His first act was to invite back the religious leader Jampal Namdol Chökyi Gyaltsen, who had fled after the rise of Communism.
A return to the traditional Mongol way of life, with modern adaptions, was introduced. Laws would be passed by the now-dictator Boke Khan, with guidance from the Jebtsundamba. Khurals would be called when necessary. Boke Khan began to move the capital to its old site at Kharkhorin, keeping Ulaanbaatar as a major city. Realizing the dire new needs of the world, he started reorganizing the Mongolian military. Very few people could be trained at first, but he was able to put together a small army to defend Mongolia. A small air force was created to assist in defense.
Soon, though, conscription was instituted and every Mongolian was required to serve in the Army for 24 months. This would ensure that a large reserve could always be called up when needed. Boke Khan also began to structure the country to support total war, if ever needed. The entire Mongol State could go to war if it had to. Boke worked on advancing the country and preparing for what would eventually come: Empire.
